- Baggio looked like he was playing in the park. A very entertaining, nonchalant playing style. The attacking line in this Inter team was incredible! However, the teams tactics and the players were not aligned, and therefore the team, especially up front, relied on natural talent instead of on a plan. Watch how Baggio, Ronaldo, and Zamorano find solutions to score goals. Inter won this game 5-4, but their leaky defense would impede this team from winning a serie A title.

He reached Jedi master level at this stage.
1:38 this is not the ball you are looking for.
Lmaoo I was wondering what was happening there 😂
He wanted to intercept a possible pass but Baggio kept his composure and it made him look stupid
Baggio feinted the Pass though. So its understandable the Opponent went the wrong way.

This kind of effortless domination is my favourite thing to watch on a football pitch. Pirlo often displayed this energy too. Baggio just on a completely different level of understanding than everybody else. Supremacy.
His passes are so soft, so accurate. Great player

Roberto Baggio from Caldogno 🇮🇹
The absolute zenith of football - golden years, truly.
*Roberto Baggio was my childhood hero! ❤️*
Ma dai ma che classe aveva Roby...!
Troppo forte.❤️🙏
I remember Roberto Baggio and Ronaldo pairing. It was the most hyped thing at that time.
He mastered football, knew where and when to pass or shoot. Like level 99 playing with beginners
This was after he lost his pace. He used to love to dribble in the late 80s and early 90s.
No panic. Nice delicate moves that create space without kicking anyone or being kicked. On that occasion he just produced accurate passes because there were several good finishers. In the absence of them he would have scored himself. He rescued Italy on so many occasions and took them to finals. Then he missed one penalty and they went against him. My favourite player and a down to earth guy.
ruclips.net/video/SnxkOfr3eVI/видео.html
This is a link to when he had to score himself using left leg , using right leg, slicing through the defenders, dribbling the keeper , inside the box outside the box , free kicks , no diving just jumping over the defenders always trying to reach every ball always fighting to get the ball without upsetting or offending the opposition. No acting. When football and footballers were nice to watch.
Baggio, Ronaldo, Zamorano, Pirlo, Simeone, Recoba and more. What a squad!
How Italy could do with a legend like him right now. Such composure, awareness, technical quality, vision, intelligence, precision and trickery.
It's incredible he achieved what he did; the many moments of magic, the exceptional goals, his goals/assists records, him taking Bologna and Brescia to unexpected heights.... all achieved while playing for some negative coaches who seemed intent on holding him back and restricting his brilliance, all achieved while playing in the toughest league at the time with arguably the best defences and defenders of all time, and all achieved while being almost crippled and playing while being in excruciating pain all the way to the age of 37.
100% bro truly a top 10 player of all time
Nah definitely overrated... only Italians froth over him🤣
@@villewintermaul1907 you don’t know football I have to say
With due all respect this type of player no longer fit in current football
@@kamaludinkhoir2074 I strongly disagree.
Today's attacking players have it so much easier - better pitches, training facilities, diets, advances in medical and surgical techniques, lighter footballs, recovery protocols.... That and the game is so much more open today, with far more attack-minded coaches - even in Italy. Also, Baggio was playing when the challenge from behind was still allowed.
Taking the above into account, Baggio would be quicker, stronger, and more healthy had he been playing today; his knee would have been repaired far more effectively. He would have been given the freedom to express himself to the full and have more space in which to operate.
I agree with Guardiola when he said the following: “If Baggio were to play in today’s football, he’d score 50 goals per season. There’s no doubt about it,” said Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola reveals how he would use Roberto Baggio in his current Manchester City side. ‘He’d score 50 goals per season. There’s no doubt about it.’
The Spaniard spoke to the Corriere dello Sport and you can read the rest of his comments here.
“If Baggio were to play in today’s football, he’d score 50 goals per season. There’s no doubt about it,” said Guardiola.
“I don’t just mean with me or Manchester City, I mean with any coach and any team. Roby was a phenomenon when playing basically with only one good leg and in an Italian football that at the time was very difficult for a forward to survive in.
“At that time, there were so few spaces and at most four or five chances per game, but he always managed to score and often in incredible circumstances. Roby was there with Diego Maradona, Marco van Basten, Francesco Totti, Alessandro Del Piero…
“Nowadays in Serie A, you see the forwards get far more service and in more comfortable areas. Italian football will always have an element of defend and counter, because that’s an aspect that is admired abroad and part of your culture, but with the revolution of Arrigo Sacchi and lately coaches like Maurizio Sarri and Roberto De Zerbi, there are teams who play the ball more and therefore also concede more.”
Baggio said that if he was playing today, he’d want to work with Guardiola as his coach.
“If he reconsiders retirement and gets into shape, I will gladly sign Baggio!” replied the Manchester City boss.
“In my team, he would certainly be a False 9. He wouldn’t have to run too much, but on the other hand he’d have 500 touches per game and score 50 goals per season.
“I don’t know if he’d win more Ballon d’Or trophies in this day and age. He’d be up against two aliens like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, so it’s fantasy football and impossible to know how things would go.”
Baggio was famously nicknamed a No 9.5, a player who was neither a striker nor a classic Number 10.
“There are so many players passionate about Baggio, because they can admire the RUclips clips. We are still in contact, I was meant to visit his home for the last two years, but due to commitments and COVID, we always had to postpone it. Maybe this summer will be the right time.
“I can’t wait for Roby to cook for me, he’s brilliant at that too, and I know he’ll always pick the right bottle of wine! I want to invite him to the Champions League Final, but there are so few tickets available, it might be easier to organise dinner.”

Even if you try hard it'll impossible to find a player like him today.
It's a kind of art not like work that football become today.
I think the word your looking for is lazy. Athletic competition is not supposed to be for the unathletic and those who don’t hone their body. This dude looks like he had a few margaritas and a pack of smokes before he stepped on the pitch. Give me Ronaldo, the real Ronaldo CR7 every day over these dudes. Look at the numbers he put up this year, if you keep your mind and body in peak form you last much longer.
Sports are not supposed to be art, they are meant for the most physically gifted with a mindset to match.
@@thefives7ar sorry, but football is not like running.

Baggio seemed to be able to slow time down in his head and move the ball past players as if was on another level of consciousness. So Zen. Only player I've seen who can do it since is Messi. Football to them isn't a graft. It's cosmic magic.
I read comments he's been underrated.... That's certainly not true. He was a living legend back in those days and let's not forget he won balon d'or a few years before that. The main difference between now and then is the media which purposefully creates "legends" these days chasing financial goals. Twenty+ years ago football was being perceived much differently by people and media, and only real quality players were true stars.
