The Inter side on the day was genuine mixed bag. They had great players like Baggio, Djorkaeff, Simeone, Zanetti and then honest pros in the likes of Cauet, Winter, Ventola, Simic, Galante, Colonese, Zamorano. This match shows just how tough it was back then, with very little space and very tight marking. Despite this, Baggio still produced some memorable moments and had R9 been on the pitch he'd probably have put those Baggio assists away.
Time of legends
The play from 1:15-1:30 is amazing, where he gets past four players and then creates an opportunity; unfortuantely I think his pass was actually meant for the player further away at the edge of the area who was open because it was hit quite hard, and instead I think Cauet got onto it first but took a heavy touch with the pace that was on it and when he made the pass, Juve's defence had pushed up and his teammate was offside. The throughball to Ventola at 6:35 was also great.
Yes, I thought the same too. Unbelievable piece of dribbling. The weight on the pass at 6.35 was brilliant too. Shame it didn't result in a goal.
Zidane had a decent game too (there's also a compilation of his for comparison) but the Baggio looked like the one who was more likely to make the decisive contribution in this particular game.

@@giordanodafrassini1476, yes. Zidane also played the game behind the game. As in, he never did anything that would cause controversy (to this day). Zidane was the good student who never spoke back to the teacher and was rewarded. Baggio was asked by Lippi to be a spy (on his teammates) at Inter and he refused (and rightly so).
As the game became more corporate, players like Baggio who were always independent-minded were being phased out by coaches such as Saachi, Capello, Lippi, Ancelotti, etc. Some of those coaches let their ego take over and did not want to be outshone by their own player. Many legendary players shone at the very top very briefly and had problems with coaches because they were special. They did what they wanted on the pitch because they could. They did what they wanted off it, too. Players like Maradona, Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, etc.
They don't even play the same position.
