Thanks for the feedback. We have owned the 2023 VW ID.4 Pro S for more than a year now and still love it. The sound system is great, but I am not sure what the complaints he mentioned owners talked about. However, I mostly listen to podcasts anyway, but occasionally I will listen to music and that sounds find. Unfortnately, the infotainment system continues to be hit or miss and easily one the most biggest frustrations of the vehicle I love. Again, thanks, and God bless,

Kyle, I’d love to see a total cost of ownership discussion for all of these cars. When I was evaluating my purchase, the ID.4 had substantially lower cost insurance (even vs.Tesla insurance), parts costs, service network and repair costs (battery cost in particular) and when you do this evaluation, I think the ID.4 is a total winner.

@@olemissjim sorry, made a confusing post in a rush. The INSURANCE was less than half the price of 3/Y. We have 4 cars and paid $433 a month for 4 months to cover for 6 months. When we got rid of the 2009 GTI for the 2023 ID.4 pro RWD insurance went up to $453 a month for 4 months to cover 6 months. The Model 3 would increase to $630ish a month. If I moved to Tesla insurance I don’t get a multi car and home insurance discount like I get now so it wasn’t a huge savings for a 3 on their insurance. Hope this clarifies.

Picked my new AWD Pro S ID4 on June 27 and it started acting 2 days later. The synopsis are as followed. No connection, location on the map is erratic, contently looking for its position as you are driving however, this is not the worst. I was driving uneventfully on the motor way and all of the sudden, the active cruse control slammed the brakes with the following message. Approaching an intersection. The car behind me almost rear ended us. I had to de activate all driving safety feature to prevent reoccurrence. Did any one else had similar experience?

So, when we ordered ours, checked every box (except AWD) and absolutely love our 2021 ID4. Just drove it earlier and Kyle's right, it's a welcoming feeling getting in and driving it and really feels like "coming home" from driving our Teslas. If it is Hardware (probably so for 21 & 22 at least based on previous OTA updates), then this might explain why they did not change lower trim. Probably trying to get rid of older hardware supply. Only a guess but probably better short term to sell rather than write off the loss. Long term with CX, who knows.

I would imagine it's a marketing and production decision to not update the small battery cars. The people who don't opt for the bigger battery are more likely to be either familiar with EVs or planning to use it for lower ranges. These groups might be, for different reasons, hesitant to spend a lot of money on a new car, so they're keen to keep the starting MSRP under $40k. And either way, they need to get people in the door first. These seem like substantial enough changes that even if the components and software aren't that much more cost, it might still take time to rejigger things that would introduce cost in other ways.
    Maybe? lol

yes. they have problems with the machines making the stator. my guess is, that they use the new hairpin winding for the stator and for that you need special new machines. somehow these machines do not work the right way anymore at the promised speed.
that means production capacity is in the area of 25% of the intended production speed - which sucks. i hope they get this sorted out because the app550 turns out to be really good.

I currently have a 2023 ID4 Pro S AWD. It's great but there are some little annoying things. Software hasn't given me any problems but I do hate the interface to dig for what I need. I hate the unlit sliders for HVAC. AND having to tap my profile each and every time I start the car. The mobile app is terrible. Not enough options you can control. Can't even lock/unlock the car from the app. And there hasn't been ONE update on the software since I've owned it which is 15mo now. After four years or close to it VW still has not trained VW techs to work on this vehicle in all dealerships. And when i called VW they offered no help whatsoever. They could care less about the customer. When i expressed to them that i could no longer take delivery of the 2024 they just didn't care. If a customer can't even get recalls done then why would anyone buy from Volkswagen? I'm done with them.
