I moved my son after 9th grade in India. It was not an easy decision for us to move him but we thought as a family we wanted to be together. My elder two daughters had already got admission in a university here. It took some time for my son to get aligned to the education system here. Higher grades are really tough and so he has to put in a lot of effort to complete his assignments and also for the tests. Now he is in 12th grade and I am glad we made the transition. We see him taking a lot more initiative to do things in comparison to how he was back in India. But I do agree that lower grades are very comfortable for children in Canada and that's a good thing. You don't want your child to miss out on the good things by being burdened with academics early on.
Good discussion! As a parent of a graduate and a final-year university student in Canada, I can say there’s no worry about the quality of education. Having been in Canada for 20 years, I’ve seen how the curriculums are focused from an early stage, and the systems are designed to develop leadership skills, confidence, public speaking and the education of your choice. While the wide range of university options can feel overwhelming, it’s always interesting to compare the Indian and Canadian school systems.
I’m glad you included my comment. I've heard that the transition to high school can be quite challenging, with many assignments adding up towards credits. Some students struggle to keep up. That's when Indian students often showcase their competitiveness, achieving high scores, largely due to the strong parental oversight. However, there are also another group of students who fall behind due to a lack of extra support or encouragemen/motivation at home.

In grade 3 there is an assessment and able to understand their strengths. Not parrot learning after 4 or in the mid of grade 3 can see drastic changes in their math and reading skills. They are able to find out . No special considerations and kids are not bothering how his or her friends good at studies and teachers keep those information confidential and not sharing or comparing with other kids even not sharing anything like “ padikkunna front benchers or last benchers”.
