Thank you! 81 years old here, your vertical method actual worked, wonders never cease. It has made it possible for me to play (almost) daily games again without total exhaustion and frustration. You need to patent this approach not only for octogenarians but even for much younger folks. I'm having a lot of fun again and really appreciate your simple approach to an effortless, but effective golf swing. Remarkable.
Great video Todd! I found that by relaxing my grip and wrists, this also relaxed my forearms. The tension in my body was reduced and I was able to feel the club head more. These corrections plus going to the vertical line swing have produced more distance and consistency with both my woods and irons. Thanks for the Help!!!
I am 67 years old and an 8 handicap. I am in good physical condition and have always been a body swinger. But you are so right. I just can't move like I used to and have been losing distance for a few years and my back now is getting more sensitive to the golf swing. When I try to be more arms active, I tend to come over the top as my right shoulder wants to lead. When I try to correct for that, I tend to swing too much in to out and not in to in and around. 30 years of swinging a certain way is hard to change.
Ernest Jones and later De La Torre (Father and Son) figured this out decades ago. You don't swing your body, you swing the club (to the target). Ernest lost his leg after WW1 and had to swing with only 1 leg, no wide stance, no weight shift, no ability to use ground forces with the legs, and still shot even par. The golf instruction community has been teaching a "body swing" for many years now and isn't doing the recreational golfing community any benefit... more inconsistency, more injury, more frustration. There is a really great golf coach on RUclips named Trish Beucher, you should check her out.
Would this vertical line swing benefit from single length clubs?? Seems like it would stand to reason that a repeatable arm swing would be benefited by this type of club. I'm a 70 year old and still love playing but my distance has eroded rapidly. Any thoughts??
Todd, i think the 60-40 weight shift from lead to trail back to lead is more a subtle pressure shift than actual weight shift? I put so much emphasis on pressung the weight transfer, i end up swaying ?

Steve, solid post here! Appreciate you sharing your insights....
Great video and instructions Todd all your videos have helped me play better and now I’m enjoying the game 👍👍
Much appreciated...
Really enjoy your talks on other swings. This still reminds me of Don Trehan's PPGS. It would be interesting to see the differences between them.
Thanks Chris. 👊
I’m always trying to increase swing speed but have struggled with decreasing mobility. Thanks for showing how to do this and not injure myself.
We got you Lee. Are you a subscriber?
@@USGOLFTVshow Yes I am!
Great video...more or less, how fast was the swing on the second swing?
Right around 100mph at top speed
Great advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Appreciate the post and kind words.
Were do I release the club, In other words at what point of the down swing do I unlock the hinge in my wrist.
Good question, the release should be more natural and not a thought process. Make sense?
Thank you !
Good Stuff! At 74 appreciate the focus on this kind of information. I’m hitting 195-200 on my drives 10 mote yards would help. Thanks
Post of the day Frank! We will take that 10 extra yards. 👊 Hope you subscribed. More to come....

Good question. We are not well versed on single length clubs, however your comments regarding some similarities is spot on. Worth looking into.
I might try some of these clubs and see how it goes. I'll keep you posted on what results I see.

Possible, be sure to keep the weight on the inside of the trail foot. This is the key!
Really? I like idea, I started working on it after and was able to get up 75. @USGOLFTVshow
I'm 85 and shot 78

👏👏👏👍Seminole texas
Great lesson just let the ball get in the way of the club head instead of trying to hit the ball.
Be the ball as they say LOL...you got it my friend.
