Pete Cohen probably hates the way Padraig completely simplifies the golf swing where Cohen uses big words and theories to make the swing sound more complicated than it needs to be. But when a multiple major winner talks everyone listens. Great job Paddy!

Once I understood this concept my game in golf significantly changed. I stopped the shoulders first and allowed the separation of the upper body and lower body to happen firing the hands down and everything else will follow. From there you can then really build a solid swing. Great tip.

I used to block and fade/slice almost everything until I saw a Golf Sensei video a few months ago and realized how the "instagram" or "Golf Channel" stereotypical "lag position" swing was killing me. Only by forcing my hands to "flip" and hit a high weak hook on command was I able to realize how slow my hands were and that's exactly what Paddy has been saying is wrong with us Amateurs for his last several videos. Excellent vid and tips here. So cool to find a tour pro making content who knows what he's talking about, especially for us regular golfers!

Great stuff about the shorter swing. I find that I subconsciously, gradually increase the effort I put into shots, especially when I'm getting tired, till it gets to the point where I'm swinging out of my shoes for ever decreasing returns. Then when the penny finally clicks that that's what I'm doing. I'll make a 3/4 feel swing and all of a sudden. The strike is better and the distance has returned.
    Love these tips, thanks.

This stuff is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow 🌈. I was swinging out of my shoes, ripping my arms and hands through the swing. The more balls I hit, the more sequenced my body became. I'm 69, a former 2, who was ruined by Leadbetter/Faldo nonsense. By the end of the session, I was crushing it a touch left with a baby draw. Paddy! You are such a great guy for doing this. Thanks for sharing, and inviting Pete to join you. It seems like he always has some insightful information to share.
Would you agree that another weakness of getting long is the disconnection of arms from body where the body has a shorter distance to travel back down, and when it moves first down the arms which are disconnected can never make up the gap to catch up, and are just dragged along at the pace of the slower moving body parts. Your talk about doing things earlier than one would suspect correlated with when I put a bunch of the guys considered good ball strikers (ex: Mcilroy, Ernie Els, Adam Scott) in 3d analysis software (Sportsbox Ai). The point they have things change direction transitioning from backswing to downswing (between hands hip high back, nd left arm parallel back), the point at which they go from down and around to starting to go vertical (or diagonal) is left arm parallel in the downswing with back still turned to facing the target.Far earlier than the vast majority would suspect. Thanks for getting a bunch of us back on the right track.

Thanks a lot. Trouble is the pros do things naturally, we amateurs are ingenious at finding ways to do the wrong thing! Still working on it. It's almost never what it looks like or what you think it is, so we're always trying to do the wrong thing in the first place. I can relate to the spinning out of it. When I let my arms go past my body it's left going left with a touch of left.

When most of us talk about getting stuck, this is exactly what happens. You make a big turn, and your upper and or lower body fires and your arms get left behind and somewhat blocked from accelerating.
I noticed that when I let my arms get off my chest and down, I can swing freely with a,lot more speed.
