Putting a towel down like this on a hitting mat and hitting the ground after with every iron and wedge I have has been one of the most beneficial things I've ever done at home. It feels way further left than you would think. If you want a real challenge, put 2 rubber tees down as a gate where the ball would be and see if you can avoid toe strikes or heels strikes while keeping the low point behind the towel
Even though playing competitively with tight schedule , still taking some time off to do some instructional videos for the masses 👏🏻 👏🏻 hats off to Paddy 👍🏻
Paddy, I love you. Without even trying, you've just teached me how to release the club better than all the 10 other instructors whose videos I watched...
Thank you so much, Padraig. The only videos that I eagerly wait on RUclips. I would love to see a lesson on how to hit a 30-40 yard bunker shot and if I am not asking for too much, more videos on the mindset of preparing for and playing competitive golf at an amateur level.
All my life I’ve been told to hold on to the wrist angle.. and here Paddy tells us to use our hands and wrist even in chipping and pitching. I can tell you without any hesitation whatsoever that this works infinitely better !! Thank you Paddy
Your first chipping video really improved my short game, practice Paddy's methods on chipping and bunkers dropped me from a 10 to a 7 I practiced just this standard ball forward weight forward method an hour a week for two months and steadily got better and more consistent! You're the best Paddy!
Piece of chalk, draw chalk line on grass or whatever to get visual on not hitting the chalk line to keep everything left. Great tips Paddy, thank you 🙌
loving these, my wedge play from 50 to 100 ayrds have gone from crap to good thanks to you. i already do these for chips but its nice to have a reassurance of what i am doing! my handicap has dropped 2 points because of the wedge play keep it coming!
Paddy, you're the man. Still competing at a high level and still not 'too good' to show us some basics. Hell, I'm a great chipper, but I watched the entire video anyway. Lol
Padraig.. as if you weren't already an absolute legend.. you go and do something like this.... And toooootally re-legend yourself! So many nuggets of wisdom here with very little jargon. Usually instruction videos over 10 minutes the content becomes a little stale and wordy. Not this. Every golfer should be subscribed to this channel. Cheers!
Not sure if Padraig is a dumb and dumber fan but i got you 😂 He’s just upping his absolute legend status by doing something for the peoples here on youtube.
Nice vid Sir! This also why its important 2 stick with the same golfball and learn how it spinns etc. if u learn your yardiges, but playing whatever ball u find, it's trouble😇 I must find 1 Ball lol
Something I struggle with is grip pressure, sometimes to much and favours hitting fat, sometimes too loose force me to try to "help" it, awesome video!
Paddy. 1st off thank you for these lessons. Incredible you are doing this for us mere mortals. What are your thoughts on Phil Mickelson’s hinge and hold method of chipping?
Hi Padraig, any tips for correct spine angle in the backswing? I recently discovered that my spine angle turns towards the target in my backswing. It’s quite difficult to work on this without looking in a mirror and I’m not sure if I’m correcting it on the range.
I watch this and see you aim left which to me I would assume gets you steeper. What do you say about instruction that has you setup closed and very shallow using a lot of bounce? As always, thank you so very much for making content for us at home golfers!
Living in Dublin and have been playing pitch and putt for the past 2 years and have never up until the last few rounds shanked the ball 😂😂 it has become a regular occurrence thanks Padraig I think this lesson will help to get back to my regular game.
Can u do a video chipping from the rough…the greens at my muni’s don’t have nice mowed areas around the greens. Some I get out fine - others are chunky, too long, or shanks.
Sadly I have a severe case of the chipping yips so find it nigh on impossible to have a steady tempo so blading chips and hitting the ground first are much more likely than hitting a ‘good’ chip. And because I am so hyper focussed on tempo and making contact I am unable to focus at all on landing area or distance control. Sadly, this means that I use putter from everywhere (even thick rough) because I have a much higher chance of getting the ball on the green with the putter and getting my bogey or a par. If I attempt a chip I bring doubles and triples in to play more often than not. I know that this is one of the reasons why I am stuck at 18 handicap. People watch my iron play and say that my handicap should be much lower, then they see me near the greens and get it.
I’m confused because a lot of ppl say for short chips to treat it like a putter stroke with very little wrist involved. This looks like the exact opposite…
The Pro s giving tips on chipjng never talk about the importance of releasing the club through the ball during a chip because they do it automatically...
I love all your golf tips and they have helped me tremendously. But people should be careful with this tip if they’re a bit older and / or out of shape. Putting all that repeated pressure on your lead knee when it’s not prepared for it could lead to injury. There are physically safer ways to go about this such as a balanced narrow stance with the ball off the trail foot.

I agree firm wrists just makes you tense up, puttings the same.
Not just on chips, but full swings too. You need to relax your wrists to allow a natural close of the club face
RUclips gold this video ‘ cheers Padraig ‘awesome to watch and learn from a champion golfer 🏌🏿♂️
I appreciate the time you put into this.
Your the man Paddy!
Hands down the best channel on youtube if you want to improve your game.
⛳️Not all heroes wear capes⛳️
Fair play Padraig u the first to get to the basic thing of being able to take the divot 👏👏

Thank's Padraig for a great lesson
Great tip, Paddy. This is without doubt the worst part of my game, and now I can see why! Thanks again for the clear instruction 👍🏻
Piece of chalk, draw chalk line on grass or whatever to get visual on not hitting the chalk line to keep everything left. Great tips Paddy, thank you 🙌
alright, another video! can't wait to practice this over the weekend
Great stuff...Keeping the teaching points to a few basic fundamentals is extremely helpful. Thank you
I greatly look forward to each of these. Thx
Thanks Padraig 😊
Please keep these coming pure class
Paddy has helped me so much on Wednesday when the pga championship happened
I really needed this today. Thank you for making the complicated simple.
Ur so awesome, thankyou for ur time and experience. ❤

Thanks Paddy great tips once more
Beautifully explained. ❤
Thank you, Padraig.
One of the most underrated parts of the game. Thanks for the lesson Paudie!
Another great lesson. Love it!
Paddy, you're the man. Still competing at a high level and still not 'too good' to show us some basics. Hell, I'm a great chipper, but I watched the entire video anyway. Lol
Thanks Paddy. I've improved from 23 to 18 hcap over the last 4 months. Chipping & putting is critical to reducing those double & treble bogies.

@@mistareee for the people!
There's no such thing as nonfans of dumb and dumber.. just people who have or haven't seen it yet 🤣

Been playing and practicing for 30 years. . This series has made the biggest improvement my game has ever seen! Thanks Paddy!
Something I struggle with is grip pressure, sometimes to much and favours hitting fat, sometimes too loose force me to try to "help" it, awesome video!
Best tips on the net!! Good seeing you at Warwick!
Inconsistency in my chipping game is my biggest downfall. Thanks for the tips, will be practicing this weekend!
Happy Birthday Paddy
Thanks Coach 👏
Sorry for your loss Wilson will be missed ❤
Thank you very much for this helpful video.

Thanks so much for giving back to the game with your tips. Just one question, do you exit left on the follow through. Thx Steve F.

Excellent one!
Auto like, thanks Paddy!
Happy Birthday Paddy, same birthday like me❤
Super Video Padraig👍⛳️

Invaluable
Is this more of a pitch then a chip? Putter stroke for chipping. This stroke for pitching? TIA
its scary how easy he makes it look
Taking this one straight to Spawell pitch & putt
Where I play the grass is never that short when I'm chipping. It's 2-3x as tall and messes me up.
Thank you!
high end content

Paddy I feel like Ive watched this video 3 different times. Are you reloading what u have filmed from before
Thanks Paddy pitching and chipping cost me at least 10 shots a round.
Padraig, how to you approach chips on an uphill lie? I find this ripe for duffs.
The sound starts working, it's fine
❤
Could you make a video "How to cure the shanks" please?
Putain que c'est bon....c'est exactement ce qu'il me faut. Merci Padrig !!!
👍✅😜✅👍
I don't even put my trail foot fully on the ground hitting chip shots now. Just my toes. Everything is lead side.
Best tip I ever got for chipping:
“Focus on the FRONT of the ball”
It works!
(… at least for me)
Thoughts? 🤔
I’m confused because a lot of ppl say for short chips to treat it like a putter stroke with very little wrist involved. This looks like the exact opposite…
95% chance to hole it from 4 feet? I guess I’m making up the 5% 😂
The Pro s giving tips on chipjng never talk about the importance of releasing the club through the ball during a chip because they do it automatically...
95% chance of making a 4 footer? 😢
Pro’s only close to that %
too steep - call parker ....

That drill looks easy .. try it and you’ll see 😡
Useless jabber, Harrington trying to explain in non understandable words and concepts. Totally waste if time to watch.
No sound Paddy
Great
