- “For All We Have And Are”
Poem By Rudyard Kipling
For all we have and are,
For all our children's fate,
Stand up and take the war.
The Hun is at the gate!
Our world has passed away,
In wantonness o'erthrown.
There is nothing left to-day
But steel and fire and stone!
Though all we knew depart,
The old Commandments stand:-
"In courage keep your heart,
In strength lift up your hand."
Once more we hear the word
That sickened earth of old:-
"No law except the Sword
Unsheathed and uncontrolled."
Once more it knits mankind,
Once more the nations go
To meet and break and bind
A crazed and driven foe.
Comfort, content, delight,
The ages' slow-bought gain,
They shrivelled in a night.
Only ourselves remain
To face the naked days
In silent fortitude,
Through perils and dismays
Renewed and re-renewed.
Though all we made depart,
The old Commandments stand:-
"In patience keep your heart,
In strength lift up your hand."
No easy hope or lies
Shall bring us to our goal,
But iron sacrifice
Of body, will, and soul.
There is but one task for all-
One life for each to give.
What stands if Freedom fall?
Who dies if England live?
To all the people of Europe, but especially to the English people, this video is dedicated…

For anyone wondering about the artwork and pictures I used and their context, here is a list of most of them. I believe it is very important that we familiarize ourselves with as many of the great artworks and old artists as we can. They are a very powerful and encouraging medium through which we can learn about our history and be proud our heritage. Thanks to everyone for watching. 🙏

LOVE YOU BROTHERMAN!
Thank you brother 🤝🫡
very well made :)
Thank you 🙏👍
Everyone should visit Winchester.....Alfred the great statue. And Tamworth castle and the lady of the mercians.
Yes absolutely. One of my favourite statues and favourite kings. Brought his country back from the brink. I thought his image embodied the message of the poem pretty well. I’d like to go back as see the homelands myself one day, if it’s not too late. Thanks for watching. Take care. 🤝

Can someone break down the art used in this video? Ive got a house that needs 'basing'
@@tlarson5422 no one’s ever asked that before 🙂. I always try to choose every picture very carefully. Let me make a list and I’ll get back to you. 👍
@TheUnknownCountry also if you've ever heard of "Hermann the German" it's a statue in MN which would be on flavor.
@@tlarson5422 Oh Ya I just remembered that one. That would have been good. Thanks for reminding me. Anyway Here’s my break down. Thank you for watching and your interest.

In Korea, there is a holiday called Chuseok (秋夕). Today is like that. It is one of the holidays when family and relatives gather in one house and spend the evening looking at the round moon. I hope you enjoy the holiday in Canada, too.(대한민국에서는 추석(秋夕)이라는 명절이 있습니다. 오늘이 그렇습니다. 가족, 친척들이 한집에 모여서 저녁에 둥근달을 보면서 보내는 명절중 하나입니다. 캐나다에서도 명절을 잘내셨으면 합니다.)
We have Thanksgiving coming up soon in October. I hope you gave a good holiday.
@@TheUnknownCountry The holidays are different in each country, but they are similar. Have a great Thanksgiving in October.(나라별로 명절이 다르지만 비슷하네요. 10월 추수감사절 잘보내십시오.)
