The SS Minto and SS Moyie were sister-ships built in 1898 by the CPR company. These sternwheelers operated on the Arrow and Koontenay Lakes of Eastern BC for nearly 60 years. The Minto was retired in 1954 and the Moyie continued until 1957. Together, they were the last passenger sternwheelers to operate in BC, and amongst the last of hundreds to operate in Western Canada. The Keno of the Yukon made her last voyage in 1960, marking the end of an era. Today the Moyie is preserved as a National Historic site in Kaslo, BC and is the oldest sternwheeler in the world.
