daft question - are the sleeper boards attached on top of the edge composite board, or are they on a space left on the edge with just a joist below them?

Hey, I’ve just watched your videos on this job from start to finish…PERFECT! I have the exact same decking but a bigger area, had a company lay it 18 months ago and it’s a total disaster! I gave them access while I was on holiday, not the best idea 😢 They haven’t used any noggins, hardly any posts so it’s like a trampoline. The boards are popping up, one post has popped through 6” I had pre bought the composite and was charged a fortune to have it put down. I have back problems but have no choice but to tear it all up and to somehow try and put it down PROPERLY myself 😂 I have to somehow measure how much joists I need, any advice would be really appreciated 😊
