    Hey Danny! I'm a new Avata 2 owner. I have not yet attempted manual flying with my actual drone yet. However, I've been hitting the simulators hard all week with my controller. Over 10 hours of flying virtually this week, and really struggling to gain control of the drone and be consistent with my flying. Your video, especially the part about rates, INSTANTLY changed my life. The only thing I did was change max rate to 360 and yaw to 200. I'm able to maneuver the drone so much easier now it's unreal. Thank you so much for explaining this stuff and showing examples. You are a legend.

    Coordinating left and right sticks for turns seem to be a direct comparison to flying an rc plane with turns using both ailerons and rudder.Using rudder only(left stick) on a plane spins the rear-end in that direction,using the aileron (right stick)as well as the rudder banks the aircraft in a smooth turn... (?)

    Brilliant video. I've been playing with Uncrashed and TrypFPV. Whilst I imagine that I'm not flying with similar weight, power and physics to the Avata (Trying to get all the exact adjustments regular rates for an Avata off people is like getting blood out of a stone), it is STILL teaching me how to fly FPV and I'm sure I can transfer those skills tentatively over to my Avata when I actually pluck up the courage to fly it in full ACRO outside. I've flown LOTS of times with the MC and in Normal mode. I actually learned here that once you have inputted your forward tilt on the right stick, it maintains that degree of tilt until it is countered. This would explain why when I'm using a SIM, it seems I'm always looking at the ground or constantly climbing 🤣. That said, I've had many decent flights in the sim so surely, I can do it for real outside. Danny, thank you for providing this tutorial.
    Ps. if you have any insight as to what settings a person can make in the likes of Uncrashed and Tryp to get the drones in there to fly like or as close to the Avata as possible, that would be awesome.

    Hi Danny, thanks for the videos!
    If you have any like special maneuvers it would be cool to see a tutorial on how to perform them.
    I'm thinking of any move outside the realm of normal control of the drone. I guess that's what's called acro or acrobatic moves. Just got my FPV Remote 2 today and your guides have been great help getting set up 🙌🏻
    Off to try out the simulators 🫡
    What's your favorite simulation app to practice with btw?

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Год назад +3

      Sure thing! But tbf this is where the Avata struggles. The motors combined with a small prop size gives it very little power that the moves I use to make back in the day with my home made fpv drone are hard to make (not impossible entirely) as the Avata can do it but not in a super stable manner even a drop needs a fair few metres to stop. But i’ll see what I can do!
      And liftoff is pretty damn good! The issue you’ll find with the sims is they normally have Betaflight controls, you fly them the same way but the rates you change don’t translate well but you can get it close. I mainly use the sim to keep the muscle memory and over time you can just adapt, similar to driving a car!

    Great video 👌🏻. I know this is gonna sound stupid but what’s the difference between normal mode and manual mode. Wouldn’t normal mode always be classed as a manual mode because it’s your controlling it

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  7 месяцев назад +1

      In both normal and sport mode, the gyro in the Avata keeps the drone upright no matter what. If you're flying forward and you let go of the forward control, the avata will stop and hover. Very similar to a DJI Mavic if you have ever flown one of them.
      Whereas in manual mode, it's very much like flying a helicopter. You can flip the drone, make it dive, and treat it like a traditional FPV drone. Have a look at somebody like Mr Steele or even the Drone Racing League :)

      I haven’t had a massive read about this new release yet, but from what I can see it’s just an integrated battery on the headband? And then obviously the motion controller 2 but I don’t really use it.
      I like the integrated battery idea! Similar to the fatsharks i use to have but you could 3d print a battery holder and do the same thing. Unless there’s something major that i’m missing 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Great video. What would you set the camera angle to get started.

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Год назад

      Around 15-20 degrees. You want it low enough so you can go slower, the more angle the faster you’ll go due to the angle of the drone needed to get that camera looking straight forward

      @@DannyBligh Brilliant thanks. I’ll try that. Your flying looked outstanding by the way. The way you control altitude so low to the ground is very impressive.

      @@DannyBligh cheers mate I’ve set to 15 and the penny is starting to drop now on how it’s done. Just got to get it to be instinctive rather than seeing a corner and thinking!! Then get more accurate. All in the simulator not gonna risk the real thing yet obviously.

    So I’ve adjusted the spring in the left analog should it be on channel 2 and also do you do anything to the springs in the right analog

      I only adjust the spring for the up and down motion on one stick, everything else is as it came from the factory

    I am looking at the footage from my avata.. the colors dont seem great.. doesn't really look like 4k HD to me.. am I doing something wrong ..? maybe for some reason my settings weren't set to 4k..

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Год назад

      I do find the image to be a little soft on the Avata, I always find myself doing more in post processing for it to get a decent image. Double check your settings or make sure the file resolution is 3840x2160 rather than HD which is 1920x1080

      @PuffyNavel Год назад

      Your camera might be set to D-Cinelike colors which is what you'd probably want if you're going to do any post processing. If I remember correctly it's at the far right on the pull-up menu in the goggles. Or you can go into the side menu -> Settings -> Camera
      (all from memory so hope that's understandable and correct)

      Yeah, it’s bizarre that FPV drones never use a proper joystick.

      Tbf, DJI do allow you to fly it using a motion controller, which is pretty much a joystick

    Just started watching video and straight away am disagreeing, you make FPV sound real easy its not, proper FPV you don't have a pause button or a professional setup, you have to set it up in betaflight and if things go wrong you recover it yourself or crash, it took me many hours on a sim and repair money to get it right

    • @DannyBligh
      @DannyBligh  Год назад +3

      No, but this video is about the DJI Avata mate 😂 i don’t mention Betaflight or any other flight controller software. FPV isn’t easy, I built and flew quads such as the Chameleon maybe 6 years ago. Took me months to get it even in the air stable through a full battery.
      This is strictly for DJI in terms of the pause button. But flying fpv in general in manual, the stuff I go through later in the video can actually be applied to any FPV drone
