Been watching your videos for a while - love the content and your straight forward/honest approach. LOVE the intro to this one 😁 as well! So easy to understand, no BS and loads of information to take in. Thanks for taking the time to make videos!
I'm going the same way. Training in Liftoff, right now some 7 hours of simulator training. First hours were pure WTF, around 5 hours I somehow got used to how the drone operates, it seemed to happen like a switch clicking, one moment to another the brain adapted to the flight mechanics. Now, after around 7 hours I changed the settings in the Avata to get Manual option. Liftoff is a great tool to learn acro. You shouldn't give up at the beginning. For a long time it feels almost impossible to ever be able to control the drone like this. Just keep practicing. After a few hours it suddenly works. Then you can continue to sharpen your skills in the simulator, e.g. by following the racing cars and "filming" them while they are drifting. Then things start getting interesting. 🙂 I consider the Avata as an entrance ticket into Acro FPV. Somehow the driving school. I consider upgrading to a race quad when I feel ready to do so.
Where are you guys getting the simulator training from if you don’t mind me asking? I just got a Mini 4 Pro and can’t seem to find any kind of simulator myself. TIA.
@@midinut Ir's a simulator called Liftoff, but it is for FPV flying only, not for the usual camera drones like the Mini series. For the DJI Avata in manual mode or the DJI FPV the simulator can be very useful. But not for any other DJI drone.
Thanks for this video! This is exactly what I wanted to see - a first flight of someone new to FPV because that’s the position I’d be in if I got the Avata 👌🏼 And very impressive flying! Idk if I’d have the courage to go under the trees like that on a first flight, but it gives me hope that it’s possible! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Im getting rdy to do Manual mode/acro mode on my Avata soon after a lot of flying in the simulator in Acro and also just flying it outside in regular mode going thru obstacles and stuff just to get used to the stick controls on a dji fpv & avata plus a few 5" CF Betaflight Drones in Level/Air mode to practice the throttle control, bc on a 6S fpv drone even on 4S, its unbelievable how fast they are and can gain height, esp the first time its amazing lol..
Thanks for making and sharing this video, much appreciate it! I have been practicing on the motion controller 2 only, and wanted to find something that explained it, so helped a lot, thanks Chad!
thanks for sharing your first manual moments, i've yet to take the FPV plunge. Vids like yours definitely inspiring! getting the stick error and being able to show it worked nicely, thanks again; namaste.
I thought you did great! I just bought one, I liked when the info was displayed. It gave me a chance to see what was going on and relate to the info on screen.
Looks like you did a great job on your first manual flight. This gets me excited to buy the Avata. I just bought the Mini 3 pro and Mavic 3 (selling my Air2s).
Nice video, was looking for this information. I like the motion controller but need to get the other one. Thanks for your video on flight sim to manual mode.
i bought my 1st drone from my uncle for a $100.00. its a DJI Phantom FC40. I Wanna get a FPV Drone. i think drones are alot of fun. i thought u did pretty good for a newbie. the better u get the faster u will probably go.
That's amazing for being on the sticks for the first time! I've spent about 3 weeks in the simulator and just under 2 week on the field and I'm nowhere near that smooth. I think it's mostly my anxiety about crashing even though I purchased DJI CARE like with my other DJI products. I also wish I had access to a large open field like that. The largest I've found so far has been baseball field and when you're learning how to turn you run out of room quick on a baseball field. The funniest thing is I've been having problems flying at a slow speed. I've changed the camera angle and I helps a little. I think I have to play with the rates a bit and get better at throttle control. I built a 6s 5 inch quad but I won't fly it until I'm good with the Avata a my tinyhawk 2 FS.
You did great. I just got my Avata and am working through the DJI simulator. I was finally able to fly in the sim without crashing but still have a ways to go. I have the DJI FPV as well and don’t want to do manual until I can do it on the Avata.
You did well.. Just got mine yesterday.. Just used the MC so far with it.. I've flown the dji fpv with the remote and it's awesome. I should have my controller in another week..
Nice work Chad! I finally ordered a FPV Controller 2 after watching your video. I'll start on the sim, and slowly put that darn motion controller down!
Nice flying for the 1st going manual. Man I wish this thing was around when I first got in the hobby about 7 yrs go. So much money and frustration went into learning to fly.
I just got my controller2 and may do my first manual flight this weekend. Your location is ideal. The one near me has no trees, just an empty half acre or so. Happy landings!
I just got my Avata a few days ago and have had a blast with the Motion Controller. I have the FPV controller as well, and tried out the DJI simulator, and I had no idea what I was doing. This morning I looked at Liftoff, as I need some serious practice before I push the M button. Even with the Motion Controller, I found the DJI simulator to be sluggish compared to the real drone. Nice work!
You made it look so easy for your first flight in manual! I have not spent too much time yet in the sim but was brave enough to try manual for real. Seconds after entering manual I had to hit pause because the drone went squirrelly(good thing for me I was up high enough) Hardest thing I think is what the rates should be
Thanks for this video Chad! I’m now where you are in my progress of experience with my dji, this coming weekend I’ll take my first manual mode flight. Wish me luck! I hope my 1st flight goes as good as yours did!
That was fun, thanks. I am about a week into the sims, both DJI and one you mentioned. Of course the DJI let's you select the Avata, and while the pc version is aggravating, I expect it is a good approximation. I like flying high to get good situational awareness before coming in for the show run. My first drone was the Hubsan Zeno Pro, btw.
Great Video! Helps those of us who are wanting to get FPV in the future. Normally, you see videos that show settings and photo/video content....your video help us gain some confidence that we can also learn.
Love the video! I am practicing on the sim too. A few more days I will get the extra batteries and will take it out. Do you know if you press the pause button in manual mode, will it recover and hover?
Well done sir! I got an avata a few weeks ago but have not had the opportunity to even give it a good try. But watching you even courage me to just get out there and do it. And hopefully soon I'll be in manual mode doing loops, Immelmanns, Split s's
I believe you are quite an advance kind of newbie. You did great on your first Manual Mode flight! As for me, It’s already thrilling enough flying DJI Avata with the Motion Controller.
Man you did awesome! I’m about to receive mine and probably won’t turn manual for a year lol I saw the whole video, and I felt like it was me flying it.
Thanks for the video. Considering FPV too so great to see. I don't see a home pointer like you would find on standard DJI's. I know you are not flying far but of battery was low knowing where home is gives confidence. Is there a way to tell?
Outstanding first flight, my replacement finally arrived as the original went missing in transit! So currently charging & setting up and hoping to do my first flights this coming Friday, very excited about that, but also want to take time to practice for a couple of weeks on the simulator before going manual, it will be my first entry into FPV.
Thanks Chad for the video. I have had my Avata for about 2 weeks and practiced with the MC2 and had a blast. I now need to learn M mode to fly inside a few buildings. Now have the fpv rc2 controller. What sim did you practice with? The ones I have looked at dont seem to support the avata very well. Thanks.
Very cool, when I brought mine it didn't come with the sticks only the motion controller and works great but wanting to controller but they are so expensive....I'm wanting to learn the sticks as well but you've done a great job
You can see the DJI Avata Unboxing here: DJI Avata Unboxing - the Perfect FPV Drone for Beginners (Pro-View Combo) ruclips.net/video/-7IOpYBQY1g/видео.html
Nicely done! Your picked the perfect open area for that 1st manual flight. Off to a great start! 👍👍
Thank you.
Been watching your videos for a while - love the content and your straight forward/honest approach. LOVE the intro to this one 😁 as well! So easy to understand, no BS and loads of information to take in. Thanks for taking the time to make videos!
Thanks Mark. Really appreciate it.
Awesome! Good review, especially from a beginner FPV point of view. Good video editing as well. I look forward to seeing more content with the Avata!

Indeed perfect for beginners! Congrats on conquering manual mode. I’m excited to try flying DJI Avata on M mode soon.
Ok, I’m now inspired to go on Manual Mode too. Gotta have faith on those safety features on the DJI Avata. They’re very reliable!
Thanks for making and sharing this video, much appreciate it! I have been practicing on the motion controller 2 only, and wanted to find something that explained it, so helped a lot, thanks Chad!

Thank you for the video! I am a newbie myself and am going to start with Liftoff as well. Well done for your first time!
I think you are doing better than many first time FPV drone pilot, well done 👍✅.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
Hey mate, thanks for share! You're getting me anxious to fly my Avata soon!
I just got an an avata and I’m looking at videos before flying it for the first time, this was really cool to see and now I know more abt manual mode!
You did absolutely great with your first flight
Awesome first manual-mode flight! After flying the Avata for a year, I am now considering the manual controller. Thanks for the insight!
Practice in a simulator with low rates first.
Thank you for the video - echo the sentiment that I'm glad to see a first flight in manual mode. Nice job.
You did awesome for your first flight. I had all kinds of terror reflexes hitting gaps and under trees.
Lol...thanks
I thought you did great! I just bought one, I liked when the info was displayed. It gave me a chance to see what was going on and relate to the info on screen.
Enjoyed the video. Good job in manual mode. You’ve inspired me.
Great footage 😎, liked & subscribed, thanks for sharing ‼
Thsnk you
Nice, really good first flight!
Great job man. Awesome video.
Thank you.
this was fun to watch !
Great job buddy. Hope you enjoy your little new toy.
Super helpful with helping me making my decision
Great job man, your turns were on point as well for just learning manual mode! Keep it up!!! 👏
Thank you
Great job Chad! You progressed quickly.🤙🏾
Thanks Bro!
nice video! keep up the great work 👍🔥
Looks like you did a great job on your first manual flight. This gets me excited to buy the Avata. I just bought the Mini 3 pro and Mavic 3 (selling my Air2s).
Nice video, was looking for this information. I like the motion controller but need to get the other one. Thanks for your video on flight sim to manual mode.
Great video. Love your editing skills on the intro

Doing great dude, keep it up!
Great video!!!! I’ll be waiting for the next videos to see you getting better as I will be going through the same process when I buy mine.
Thank you.

Modern technology has made it much easier for beginners getting into FPV . Nice one bruddah 👊🏼
Thanks
Great job!! Thanks for the video!!!
Excellent. Thanks for the gimbal setting.
You did great. I just got my Avata and am working through the DJI simulator. I was finally able to fly in the sim without crashing but still have a ways to go. I have the DJI FPV as well and don’t want to do manual until I can do it on the Avata.
You had me as a subscriber the moment you said, “pray or me.” You got this brother! Now to watch the rest of the video lol.
Solid video! Thanks for the info.
You did well.. Just got mine yesterday.. Just used the MC so far with it.. I've flown the dji fpv with the remote and it's awesome. I should have my controller in another week..
Amazing 🤩 you are pretty good flying within week of simulation!
Very well done! 👍
Nice work Chad! I finally ordered a FPV Controller 2 after watching your video. I'll start on the sim, and slowly put that darn motion controller down!
did well bro ..inspiring me to have a go at drone flying
You did absolutely GREAT for your FIRST manual flight. I probably would've crashed multiple times. 😂😂😂 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks
Nice flying for the 1st going manual. Man I wish this thing was around when I first got in the hobby about 7 yrs go. So much money and frustration went into learning to fly.
Thanks
You just inspired me to get a lanyard and finally finish off that simulator training and go for it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Glad I could help...lol. thanks
I truly enjoy your videos.
Thank you
New to your channel. Currently flying DJI air 3 definitely my next step. Great content
You did great man!!
I just got my controller2 and may do my first manual flight this weekend. Your location is ideal. The one near me has no trees, just an empty half acre or so. Happy landings!
Under the trees for the first time had to feel rad!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Mate that’s epic !!!
Great job!
Great work on video mate
You rocked it 👍🏻
Thanks for your vid. I am waiting for mine. I have controller to practice in sim. But great to hear your thoughts and watch you fly 👏👏
Cool....that's a good way to start. You'll love it.
Great job! I look forward to my first acrobatic flight
Really well done for the first flight. The sim time served you well. Throttle control is one of the more difficult parts of learning.
Thanks
Looks like you are doing a good job of it.
....total fun...thanks!
You did great for your first time in manual mode. I hope that I do half as well when I try.
Thanks..very helpful because I am about to purchase the Avata. How did you like the hand controller?
Nice flight, Chad. Your first flight in manual was more successful than mine. Much more!
Lol...thanks Demarco. The simulator really helped.
I just got my Avata a few days ago and have had a blast with the Motion Controller. I have the FPV controller as well, and tried out the DJI simulator, and I had no idea what I was doing. Great video brother
Subscribed! I am currently working on transitioning into manual mode, too. It is much harder than people think. Nice work
Thank you. Yeah, It takes some hours to develop the muscle memory, but eventually you'll get it.
Hello , Thank you for good video, Just wonder which simulator you trained on and what controller u were using with simulator ? Thanks
You made it look so easy for your first flight in manual! I have not spent too much time yet in the sim but was brave enough to try manual for real. Seconds after entering manual I had to hit pause because the drone went squirrelly(good thing for me I was up high enough) Hardest thing I think is what the rates should be
Brave flight. Glad you survived. Waiting for the FPV controller. Subscribed. See you on QC Guy. Take care.
Thanks
Thanks for this video Chad! I’m now where you are in my progress of experience with my dji, this coming weekend I’ll take my first manual mode flight. Wish me luck! I hope my 1st flight goes as good as yours did!

Nice first flight.
You're a Pro Bro! 👍😃
Hi my man! Awsome video! Wich simulator did u practice in?
Edit: ill check out liftoff!
I believe you are quite an advance kind of newbie. You did great on your first Manual Mode flight! As for me, It’s already thrilling enough flying DJI Avata with the Motion Controller.
Thanks..yeah the motion controller is fun.
You did amazing ! i had the same issue with the controller stick error i send it back and DJI replace it for free
Very nice first flight! I got the MC and love it, but i am thinking about the RC an manual mode! What simulator did you use?
Man you did awesome! I’m about to receive mine and probably won’t turn manual for a year lol
I saw the whole video, and I felt like it was me flying it.
Thank you
Great work on your first effort 👌. I did my first manual yesterday and didn't go nearly as low haha. But will get low next time
That keyframing to zoom out of your own video was sweet!
Thanks for the video. Considering FPV too so great to see. I don't see a home pointer like you would find on standard DJI's. I know you are not flying far but of battery was low knowing where home is gives confidence. Is there a way to tell?

Thank you...lol
Heck yeah bro get you some acro. New sub, I wanna see where this goes my man.
Cool man 🤝😎
