One of the absolute best horror remakes that gets overlooked so often. Glad it's getting attention.
Cool fact about the original Night of The Living Dead is that the reason why it has been re released and colorised and remade so much is because the title card that appeared didn’t feature the copyright symbol as the distributor either forgot or didn’t care enough to include it thus the original zombie movie and the first from George Romero became public domain, it’s also the reason why so many indie and big budget movies include it as a movie that the characters are watching because they don’t have to pay any royalties for it
Love they never tried to make the two leads have this romantic energy... in both versions.
She also played the villain in Army of Darkness
1990 Night of The Living Dead is by far my favorite remake ever. It carried on the unexpected to make the female lead strong and again like the OG, ignored race as an issue. For me that is the strongest statement a film maker can make. Show these things happen naturally and not have to throw it in the audience's face.

I was yelled at when I was in my late teens and early twenties for scarring my nephews and nieces with scary movies. They've turned out perfectly fine🤷🏻♀️ 😂🤣
The best way to watch this movie is after seeing the original because they ways they made sure to mess with people going in with preconceived notions. Also, Barbara's change through the film from scared to badass is a great arc!
Love the questions about how people get started into horror. It's always interesting to see what hooked others into this nightmare.
I think miss Rose and I have a shared interest in this film as this is one of my favorite zombie movies and one of the best remakes of George A. Romero's films. Plus, IMO, the only NOTLD remake that actually works for me.

On a side-note: judging by the comments section i'm so glad horror fans aren't as transphobic as wrestling fans are.
Dont Judge all wrestling fans, theres a very vocal minority that are LGBTQ haters and now that people are finally comfortable sharing that aspect of their lives the haters are crawling out of the woodwork. Most of us are pretty chill.
You'd think they'd be more excepting seeing how we watch people "fake" fight in speedos.... pretty much the most homoerotic thing you can watch outside pornhub.

And Dawn of the dead was filmed at Monroeville mall which was 10 minutes from my hometown, they have a special section with a dedication to George Romero and Tom Savini and it says "The mall of the dead"
The plot of the Dyatlov Pass incident based on the Ural mountains group has been pretty much solved. The group set up camp on an incline and they dug out the area so they would be sleeping on flat ground, the digging made the snow above them unstable and caused an avalanche, this happened at night which is why they had no clothes and the tents were shredded by just wild animals and the elements.
Missed this series, glad it's coming back more now
I remember in 5th grade, at my friend's house, I'd found a tape with this on it(with Marked for Death and Halloween 5). I ended up owning the tape...but anyways, this movie still is so underrated and unknown. It's a shame. It's got some aspects that are almost perfect. The environment. The ambience. The acting. Hell yeah man.
I learned way more than I thought I would about a movie I've seen fifty times! I fucking love this series. God damnit, this channel is the JRE but for the horror community.

Definitely one the better horror remakes .I've always really enjoyed it. So happy to see Nyla Rose! She seems like a sweet, genuine person. So happy to see her get more notice .
Regarding the Dyatlov Pass incident, I believe it has been determined that almost all of the weirdness can be explained by a slab avalanche. Other details, such as the radioactive corpses, could be accounted for by the type of lanterns they had with them, and other comparatively mundane explanations.
The movie's definitely more entertaining though. LOL
I believe the radiation aspect was added in later retellings and wasn't even originally part of the incident.
The first horror movies I remember watching are the Child’s Play movies when I was about 9 years old. They were being shown on TV as a horror marathon and I remember watching them with my dad while making spaghetti for dinner.
Nyla is a sweetheart, and an absolute badass! Her twitch was really entertaining, and she also has apparently good taste in horror films too?! Yeesh, that's too much awesome for one person!

The 1990s remake is so good.
I have one nit-pick about mention of Dyatlov Pass - bodies of hikers were found. What is a mystery was reason for them to run out of tents in middle of blizzard.

I don't know a lot about wrestling but finding out that Nyla is Trans is amazing! I'm so glad that at least professional wrestling is accepting!
First time I saw the 90s remake was when Joe Bob aired it on *MONSTERVISION* during the 25th or 30th anniversary of the '68 original. He had members of the OG cast on watching with him and interviewing them. The 90s remake was amazing. I'd like to thank Joe Bob and USA's *UP ALL NIGHT* for my love of horror movies and other cheesy siiiiick flicks!
I am so glad someone else likes this movie as much as I do. I finally bought it on Blu-ray Disc. I know the original is a classic and a game changer in its own right. This one is my favorite though.

I think it does everything the original did great but better. Controversial to call a remake of a horror classic better, but I don't see how it in anyway is worse than the original.
I've loved this movie ever since I caught it on tv when I was a kid. I saw it before the original and it's definitely one of my favorite remakes. Being from the Pittsburgh area makes me love this and the original even more. It's so cool to have some good horror made near your home town

There is so much I love about Savini's remake (most notably the improvements to Barbara's character)... Really, the only blemish I can think of is that it's ending doesn't quite live up to the original's (which would be difficult, because--personally--og NOTLD has one of the most perfectly dour endings in cinema history)

I admire the original 1968 film as it wasn't technically the first of it's kind, but the way it introduced us to the zombies we know and love, though I prefer the remake, which is a first, as it did things I thought were better than how the original played out, especially in like the lasst 10 minutes: Barb becoming a badass, and Ben's death felt more satisfactory, even though I do admire the guts it took to kill him off the way they did in the original. I also love the fake out in the beginning of the remake, and I respect it for being very similar, with nice twists and changes to the story. Tom Savini directed the hell out of the remake.
I was watching horror way early. The one thing my parents were cool with. I remember being about 9 or 10 and going to a mom and pop video rental store and applied for my own card, they gave it to me. Not only did they let me have my own card they let me rent Faces of Death! Lol!! I have to admit, Mom was not happy about Faces of Death!!🤣

I think I saw one really gross comment (that the person either deleted cuz he started getting roasted, or got deleted, not sure) so far. The remake is up there in my top 20. Fantastic horror movie, I saw this one when I was much younger.
I never thought for a split-second that me and Nyla would be a perfect match on something, but she likes Hellraiser 3 for the same reasons I do (three out of four at least, the Jesus Christ/Not Quite saying I originally heard in Dollman VS. Demonic Toys, so without counting that one, Hellraiser 3 was also my first Hellraiser film, the Joey and Terri bonding was awesome as I have a friend and crush that reminds me of Terri, so I find it really tragic that she goes back to JP and then ends up becoming a cenebite, and CD is my top favourite cenebite in the whole frachise, even though I like him for a different reason, to me, he's the scariest one, all because of his first close-up right after he kills the taxi driver when we see him turn his attention to Joey)

On a personal level my first horror movie was Texas Chainsaw Massacre when I was nine. My first at the cinema was Videodrome when I was 13. I went on to get three university degrees.
So hype for this AEW season. Love Nyla's work in the ring, and her ring attire is always so nerdy and cool.

I was watching horror pretty early. My dad would watch stuff that came on TV, and insomniac that I was, my young self would creep downstairs, and watch stealthily from behind the couch.

I'm sure James has thought about getting a lot of different guests for this show. The bigger issue is convincing the guest's management to answer the email or phone call regarding a meeting in the first place. For now we have to hope that this series gives the Dead Meat channel new viewers that can lead to new representation approaching the channel for collaborations. Given how much AEW is on the rise and how this new group of wrestlers are constantly pushing their social media accounts, I feel like that's a possibility.

Unpopular opinion. Halloween 3 is one of the best ones from the entire franchise. Most of them are repeating things or they just made up a whole different story.

I was so happy someone knew strangeland!!! That was the first horror movie I saw when I was ten. I probably shouldn't have watched it, but I was at a sleepover and had to do it XD I still remember that movie vividly.
I remember watching The shining, IT, and Sleepwalkers when I was only 6 or 7 years old. I'm now 16 and I'm a massive horror fan. 😅

Pretty funny when you see Babaras brother Johnnie is the same actor who plays Otis in the house of 1k corpses franchise.
I definitely prefer this remake to the original.
it's funny how James and Nyla go on about what can be the next new horror movie/TV show for the next evolution because I got shown and finished up a south Korean dubbed Netflix show called All Of Us Are Dead. It's that classic zombie media we are all use to but with some new interesting twist and turns through out. It would be cool for you to cover it James it's a bit on the long side tho with 12 episodes all about an hour long but it's worth it I think and if Nyla see this comment you should check it out too.
