Knowing how much apreciation James has for Savini's work and now seeing him as a fan of the channel is such a wholesome thing
It really is wholesome and beautiful
It truly is
my jaw literally dropped when tom mentioned that he was 75…the man looks fucking GOOD my god congrats dude
He looks amazing for his age
@@miketrapper0464 literally mans got the good genes that’s for sure
I love how multiple people that James has interviewed are fans of Dead Meat. It really shows how far the channel has come and its impact on the horror community!
AMEN
Or shows everyone is just lazy and watches recaps
@@zyourzgrandzmaz man I'd love to totally rewatch every single horror movie that he's covered and I personally watched, and count every single kill😐
@@zyourzgrandzmaz I'm pretty sure Tom Savini doesn't need to prove that he loves horror and watches more than recaps.
@@zyourzgrandzmaz This channel is just a recap, its basically a mini-documentary of the movie with the deaths as the highlights of each episode. You still have to watch the movie because this channel doesnt take the experience away and that's by design so film makers still can have viewers enjoy their movies after a kill count.
So my sister, (Jason Baker's wife) just shot me a link to this interview since Tom dropped my name as the sketch concept artist for the mask. Just thought id pop in and say that this was a really cool experience and it's beyond wild to see something I got to play a part in creating up on the big screen, or hell just up on movie posters in general. This isn't something I do a lot of, mostly I just create my own art for myself but Jason tends to contact me whenever he needs something fleshed out in a drawing to help work through ideas and this project was no different, except of course for the fact that it was for a major film haha. Great interview man. Cheers!
I am sure that is definitely a good feeling and cool experience without a doubt. Congrats!
Well I would love to have a mask like this for Halloween this year so.. great work guys!
I just know during Halloween people will be wearing your art. We’re all big fans of the mask :) great job
You did a fantastic job!! Its so cool to see things come to life
Just saw the film and loved it. What an iconic look. Amazing work, kudos
I'm so glad James is doing an interview with the Black Phone's crew cause this movie looks phenomenal, Ethan Hawke is gonna kill this role
True
It was very good and also the kid
Anyone else see him in Moon Knight? The guy's a miracle worker.
@@coolnerdlll6053 Yessir, Arthur Harrow
@@coolnerdlll6053 Yea he was great in Moon Knight, I'm so glad Ethan is taking more villainous roles cause the guy always knocks it out of the park
Man James really just is apart of the fabric of Horror movies now 😭😭 incredible
Seeing legends fanboying and supporting each other is just... I love it so much. James is older than me, but I feel like a parent proud of her child, just watching his dreams coming true, showing that all the hard work was and still is worth it
It’s like poetry sorta they rhyme
Tom Savini is awesome. He just walks around conventions like a regular Joe talking to people.
I met him earlier this year.
its that pittsburgh in him!
He's such a G. I can't believe he's in his 70's.
I didn't realize that James is such a good interviewer. Kudos, James.
I know James and Chelsea are anti-Marvel, but Ethan Hawke was one of my favorite parts of Moon Knight and I’m so stoked to see him in villainous roles.
I do appreciate that they don’t discuss comic book movies and largely stick to horror, way more to explore and promote
He was completely overshadowed by how outstanding Oscar Isaac was, but I still really liked him.
@@coolnerdlll6053 Oscar Isaac was amazing in that show. I wasn't a big fan of the overall product but his performances were so good.
@@shiftybea Oscar Isaac can make any product good just by being in it.
Ethan Hawke was incredible as Harrow, especially near the end. You could really tell he believed his cause no matter what
The best thing about James's interviews for these high profile things is how natural and conversational they are. Same when Chelsea is in on them as well. You see other interviews from these press junkets and they come off more robotic or are totally carried by the interviewees. Not these though, they end up more like just a chat with someone who is passionate about a topic.
I'm glad Derrickson is still getting work and I can't wait to see what's next. Sinister is an absolute masterpiece.
One of the scariest movies for me up there with Hereditary & The Strangers 2008 etc etc
I'm so glad that Derrickson is doing horror movies again I hope there's gonna be a Sinister reboot.
@@patrick13183 pretty good def should watch it
The first half maybe, the ghost kids were laughable and immediately brought it it into the realm of "YTV Halloween special"...
I love how James never asks the boiler plate interview questions. You can tell he really does his homework and finds very specific and interesting aspects of the topic to discuss.
Yeah I also love how he can react to their answers and ask follow up questions and doesn’t mind getting off track.
That Whipping scene was so hard to watch. But the fact that Jeremy improvised that scene and Maddie just gives it her all and Mason too. I can go on and on with this movie. Fantastic actors and a great director.
Tom Savini is a master at his craft. Can you imagine back in the 70s when he started (I think) and had so much talent and artistry to his gore work and now add 45+ years experience to that. He must still to this day love his job and what he does. I would love to make practical effects for movies, kinda like an on set engineer/artist of practical effects, basically what Adam Savage did at ILM for the most part. Not sure if I'd want to be the head person or just the guy being told make this, make it happen. Hopefully it pays very well lol maybe I've found my passion and future career! Thanks James, Tom and Jason!
Well then, I wish you the Best of Luck on your future career!
Just when I think James can’t get any cooler, he interviews Ethan Hawke and Tom Savini. Coolest thing ever!
I met Tom Savini.
@@rodian_skypyratz6181 cool man how did it go?
@@lorenzosfifthchannel8897 He’s a pretty cool guy. He signed my copy of Dawn Of The Dead (1978).
Ethan Hawke was by far the best part of the black phone, his portrayal of the grabber was phenomenal! He was truly terrifying & chilling in all the best ways! I honestly want to see it again, soley for him!
He’s terrifying
That bizarre feeling of pride you get for James and Chelsea being beloved by industry legends despite not knowing them at all
And this is why he's the best horror channel on RUclips.
Cody Leach is second.
The director seems like such a genuine guy. I love how he praised the child actors, sounds like he really supported his cast!
im so damn proud of this channel man… you guys have a foothold in the genre and the content continues to get better. thank you for entertainment week in and out
The mention of the mask poster being eye catching is so true-- I work at a movie theatre and most everyone who stops to look at the upcoming release posters says something about it. Children especially love to walk up to it and tell their parents they want to see the movie, usually much to the parents horror.
I also work at a movie theater, and oh boy did it catch my attention for months
@@ghostycat6939 Same I also and I agree fully since the first trailer released
The mutual fanboy-ing is so wholesome.
it's so interesting seeing Ethan Hawke play a villian in a movie, he's mostly only played protagonists in his career, that I know of. I’ve only seen Sinister
He’s played an antagonist in the movie “Taking Lives” (2004)
he played the villain in the show moon knight and he was really great in that, the show was really interesting too I'd definitely recommend it as a good watch or just something interesting to see Ethan doing a different role in
The beginning of this is so wholesome and wonderful. They were so nice to James and just hearing Jason say they were fans made me happy. Dead Meat deserves all the good things, more good things for Dead Meat please.
James, the level of chill/restraint you're exuding here is... incredible. You're such a professional!
I love how these feel less like interviews and more like James having a casual conversation with these people about their work
I absolutely can’t wait to see this film. Joe Hill’s works are so hauntingly devastating. I’ve loved all the adaptations so far. The team behind this seems so passionate.
Honestly I can't see the villain in this movie being played by anyone else. Hawke did a phenomenal job and I hope to see him as more intimidating/villain characters in the future.
I don't see a lot of horror movies these days (I'm in my 50s and I hate jump scares), but I'm going to try and see this in the theater. The passion of everyone involved, and the description of the young actors' performances, really has me pumped to see it. Great interview!
Seeing Tom Savini shout out Rob Bottins work in The Thing is such a great horror nerd moment.
James I really think this was your best interview block yet. You seem much more confident and the flow between questions was really well done. Even all the little intricacies with the SFX guys was really interesting. The new set must be helping, keep it up!
You really can learn SO MUCH from personalities like Tom Savini, who is so humble, modest and resilient, adapting to new technologies and embracing them instead of pretentiously hate them ❤️ I’m so inspired! Thanks and congrats, James!!
Ethan Hawke has been killing it!!! Love to see it😎😎
I could see james talk to tom savini for 24h and i would not be bored for a sec. Amazing work so glad to see them recognize james and chelsea’s work.
James keep it up!
I'm so excited to see this movie, got tickets for tomorrow's release! Didn't know Goredaddy worked on the movie, so fucking excited to see it
Just saw an advanced screening a few hours ago, Ethan Hawke put in a great performance
The movie is about kidnapping and that is truly horrifying because it is a real problem
The fact that Tom lives here in Pittsburgh like me always makes me so happy and excited that he’s actually so close
I’m in disbelief rn! I love Ethan Hawke as an actor. James, congrats on these new ventures!! 🫶🏻
Saw it on Saturday, I fucking loved it.
As an insipiring director, this is some very ooey gooey stuff here that you guys delved into! Thank you so much for that my man! Love your videos! Have a good one everybody!
Amazing work, James! You balance enthusiasm and deferment and your own little comments. You make their work the star of the conversation and help them look good, which is what a great interviewer does :) love to see you get these opportunities, I hope this video gets a ton of views!!
I’ve been WAITING for dead meat to talk about this movie! So happy James got to interview these legends and not surprised that they’re fans of his as well!!!
I really like this interviews, and again (I said it the last video about the carry), I really believe that is an amazing publicity for companies, made with dead meat this kind of videos. I live in Argentina, how much publicity you think I going to watch in the street. Tv, I don't have one for the last 15 years, don't want it too. But thanks to this kind of videos, I get interesting, I get to know about the film and proyect, and I probably go to watch it after that.
Thank you Dead Meat (James, Chelsea, and all the team) to bring us this amazing productions to our homes, wherever we are. I mean it.
What a Great & Thought Provoking interview, Savini & Hawke are in my Top Five Favorite Celebrities of all time; So THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this James🤗😆🙆🏾♀️🥰
i cannot wait to see this movie. love your stuff james!
James interviewing both Savini and Derrickson this is the best day of my life.
I watched Black Phone on Saturday and really liked it. The Grabber's mask is absolutely awesome!
Yeah I also liked the half-mask thing especially that they got like two expressions for the lower one
I saw this on opening night and I gotta say that this movie was awesome! The crowd made it even better with all the screaming and cheering during the film. With crowd reactions like that, it really reminded me how connected us horror fans truly are
Was insanely excited for this movie but knowing that Savini was part of the SFX team just made me way more excited
This was a great pair of interviews. So much content and respect between all the parties. Makes me excited to see the film.
OMG! Can’t believe you got to interview Tom Savini! All hail Gore Daddy! Love it!!
I was already excited for this movie but now nowing Tom Savini is involved makes me extremely hyped I'm seriously considering just taking work off tomorrow night to go see it opening night
Was lucky enough to go to a premier screening last night. Highly recommend to all!
this video damn. seeing James interviewing Tom Savini and Jason Baker on THE channel. Dead Meat has really gone so far. Can't wait for what they have in store in the future
Man this was one of the best horror movies ive seen in a long time, they did an amazing job with this movie.
I really enjoyed this film, was intense as hell. The end brought tear to eye can't lie.
Hella pumped for this movie looks so well done!! Love the content 💀🍖
Have been watching since the practical folks days and every time somebody from the horror world gives you guys praise and kudos in one of these interviews I get such a burst of second hand pride, it’s like seeing your friends from college do well! So pleased to see you guys thriving ❤️
Savini is amazing at his work
You know you made it when the people who you are interviewing are a fan of your show. Congrats James!
I saw the black phone it was a great movie!👍🏾
Wow,this needs to be a highlight reel,Amazing interview love The Hawke, great q and a,wish it was longer
That movie was amazing. Easily my favorite of 2022 so far. Probably one of my favorite newer horror movies.
Nice to know Tom is called Gore Daddy
Scott Derrickson is one of the best modern horror directors. Case in point, Sinister. The movie is honestly as close to a masterpiece as it gets, especially now.
Sinister is definitely one of my favourite films it's so good
Just watched it! It's AWSOME this movies concept is literally so cool. I rate it a good 8/10
Legendary Ethan Hawke
ughhhhh I cannot wait to see this! I'm so excited!
Had the pleasure of seeing this movie last week at an early screening and it absolutely lives up to Sinister!
Loved when Ethan Hawke started talking. His love for cinema bleeds through every conversation
Tom was always cool & Jason as well (going to school at the film factory/George Romero film school) he brought a couple of us on a tour through his house and wow, it's like a hall of fame of horror. It's great to see these two getting more acclaim for their work.
22:16 absolutely adorable seeing Ethan Hawke be so affectionate toward Mason Thames on the set
He’s a national treasure
Please do a podcast review for this movie!
you know you've made it when you can interview A-list movie stars and them enjoy talking too you
I first saw the trailer for this movie back when I saw Halloween Kills in theaters last October and I have been excited ever since. Can't wait for Friday to go to the theaters and watch this movie
Ethan hawke is saying don't be Jared Leto lol
Saw this yesterday at an early screening and it’s phenomenal!! Absolutely recommend
I watched the black phone on Saturday and it was amazing i loved it.
I saw this movie last weekend and I really liked it. The acting was amazing, Ethan was great as always. Solid movie, solid performances and some decent scares.
Amazing video Thankyou 🙏🏻 watched the black phone last night in the uk 🇬🇧 cinema absolutely amazing ! My favourite Ethan hawke character to date he was brilliant ! Tom savini is an absolute legend! The Masks are brilliant 🤩
They did an amazing job with the mask, very chilling.
This is such an amazing interview. You really hold your own with these legends. It's awesome to see!
got to see a preview screening at my local cinema on Saturday night and really enjoyed the movie
So glad you are getting these opportunities James! You deserve it! Great questions btw!
I'm very excited for this movie, gonna watch it in Friday!
I love love the way you interview people, you have natural charisma James!
I found a Jason Covid Mask that I bought off Jason and Tom thankful everyday I have something from these two legends.
I just saw this movie and it is definitely worth it
The mask totally reminds me of a tattoo version of a hannya mask, which is fucking awesome👹
I loved this interview.
I kept this in my watch later until I could see the movie. Literally as soon as I could I jumped to it. This movie was amazing! These interviews were fantastic. Thank you .
Tom savine is horror royalty this man has given nearly 50+ of his life to make horror movie affects and his one of the best to do it I hope to meet him one day just to say how he is a legend of the genre
This is so interesting to hear about BTS SFX! So excited to finally see this!
I can't believe he is 75 years old ! My mother is his age and she looks better then I do and I'm 39 , actually she completed a triathlon yesterday. Anyways , he really did work himself to were he is now. He was a combat photographer so he must have seen some horrible and traumatic things. Definitely an idol to me.
Tom savini is 75 in this video? Jesus Christ. He’s a legend.
I need Tom Savini to tell me good luck on the project I’m working on
Im so hyped for this movie!
So cool to hear them mention Eide's Entertainment in Pittsburgh. That is one store I have to stop at every time I'm in the city
