I love that Dead Meat has become such a big part of the horror genre that they can get interviews with these stars
Right, I swear the fact they as Horror fans that have fans who are part of the various Horror franchises is just awesome
It felt like yesterday when they only had like 300 subscribers and the fact they reached this point was amazing.
They’re such a big part of the genre, that Chucky did a kill count at the end.
How is Chuckie so strong when you can kick him 🤣🤣
I know. Im soooo jealous
I just love the way James and Chelsey nod their head and smile in sync while secretly fanning out
I love that the horror community seems to be the kindest and most welcoming community.
While the Star Wars community is a divisive community
Horror creators usually exorcize their issues through their work
They all tend to be super chill folk
@@miketrapper0464 as a Star Wars fan I can fully confirm this
@@morrisberben3132 yep
@@miketrapper0464 They are the definition of toxic, evil, and they are just in an all out war with each other yeah i’m more into horror franchises and horror movies in general then star wars since I barely watch it now until something new comes out
Don Mancini being a Bond superfan is a surprise to me. And he does it much like childs play where the tone of the franchise changes. A lot.
Seeing the chucky director appear in a dead meat podcast is pretty cool.
Totally cool
Chucky creator. He has written every single movie in the original timeline. Child’s Play 1-Cult and is the showrunner of the tv series.
He created Chucky
The fact the same guy has been involved with his creation since 1985 (besides that terrible remake in 2019) is outstanding. Don Mancini is the man!
Definitely
The remake wasnt bad at all. If you think of it as its own movie and not a remake, irs not as bad as it seems
2019 remake is not a bad movie. I see it as an alternate universe version. Besides Mark Hammill did a great job
@@efes47198 Mark was honestly the only bearable part of the movie for me
The thing is, the remake is literally just made to make money off of it
When Chucky did the death count in the last episode, I said to myself,, “You’re doing James’ job”
Have been a big Chucky fan for a couple years. Watched all the movies, learned so much behind the scenes, and Patiently waited for the Chucky TV Series. Chucky is my favorite horror franchise by far and always will have a special place in my heart. I love how Don has kept evolving Chucky over the years and now with the TV Series it has really shown the potential Chucky still holds and that the ideas definitly haven't run out. Thank you Dead Meat for interviewing this talented crew they are some great people and I loved seeing them in the 1st season can't wait to see them in the 2nd one too
Yall really be into this shi. I only watch these cause I’m a pu55y.
@@Shrnirpledorp Chucky is funny man😂
@@starwarsuncovered6968 he’s funnier than Freddy Krueger hands down
What The hell are you talking about? The last few movies were terrible, not to mention the show was so damn bad.
@@damienlu7318 Your absolutely wrong but ok
So relieved to hear that this series will be featured on the kill count. Such a fun interview, too!
I mean, Chucky technically already did James' job for him but it would still be cool to see him cover the whole series
@@goldenjack5100 That kill count was the reason why i was concerned that James wouldn't do it. That was still one of my favorite scenes though.
THIS is probably my favourite part of the channel. I love seeing the interaction within the horror community, bringing these big names down to a general level to just celebrate the entire genre. It's truly fantastic and inspiring.
The chucky show is easily one of the best modern iterations of an older slasher franchise and I’m so excited for season 2
Chucky doesn’t feel like a slasher to me
@Bryson because he feels like a haunted doll, a ghost, it’s not a criticism I see that as a good thing, it’s because of how he came to be while Jason, Mikey, bubba and Fred are slashers
@Bryson because he’s a doll and like he just doesn’t feel like it, he’s a mix of slasher and paranormal for me
@@miketrapper0464 i get what you’re saying but Chucky is a full on slasher like them
@@ttt9830 true
holy hecc, I'm so proud of you James !! the Chucky TV series is my comfort show and I'm sure this interview was absolutely amazing :)
there with you, been a odd couple of months and Chucky has been a GREAT show to just watch when in a funk....
get a laugh learn a little more about him.
i love it!!
It so wonderful to see James and Chelsea getting all the recognition they deserve after so many years of hard work.
This was so awesome, you & Chelsea were great interviewers.
On a sidenote: knowing Chucky is nearing 40 years old as a franchise is making me realize my own closeness to 40 & I just 😭😭.
it's just a number dont worry when you get there it will be ok
Went from being scared of chucky as a kid where I couldn't even watch the films at all, to loving the films and even watching them alone in my room in the dark. Chuck franchise feels like I have the most connection to.
I’m 26 and Chucky has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Bride of Chucky was one of the first movies I remember watching over and over and over again. I honestly have soooo much love for Don and it’s always really nice to see what a humble down to earth guy he is. So happy for all his recent success
I think its super smart that they are aiming to bring new fans to the series. Many franchises feel a bit stale to me after awhile because they only focus on the people who are already fans.
That’s good, to bring new people in that can experience something new
Im a huge Chucky fan. This series holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of my favorites for sure. My favorite are child’s play 1, then 2, then 3, and then this series.
I'm a big Chucky fan and loved the series! I'm so happy that it's getting a second season.
I cannot wait for season two of this show. It was amazing!
I can't wait for season 2 because I need to know what the Hell is going to happen to Nica
@@AUserThatIsDeleted ikr that was a very disturbing ending and I wanna know so badly

*It is very gratifying to see that Mancini and the cast have achieved good results with the series. I really like the franchise and it was good to finally see the origins of Charles Lee Ray.*
I liked it and definitely liked the ending on this storyline and do want to know more
@@miketrapper0464 Yea! Me too. I can't wait for season two. Hope there are more flashbacks to Ray's past.
@@CaioH. probably not since we got probably everything now
@@miketrapper0464 Yeah.
James saying "Chucky was on tonight. Fuck." on the Kill Count set in absolutely incredulity is one of the funniest clips I've ever seen lmao
Poor James, stuck in hellraiser doomed to be punished by pinhead by not watching Chucky
Even though Chucky already did the kill count at the end of season 1, I would still love James to cover the series and counts the kills. I think Chucky did not count the other Chucky deaths so I think James will.
that was sad. tem poor chuckys 😭😭😭😫😫😭
@@stanclark8824 Eh they were learning to be as murderous as the original, anyway. I was more broken over Junior's death. I can't wait for Chucky and Tiffany to get theirs.
@@stanclark8824 For Chucky, I mean his final death.
@@mauriciogarcia4795 ah, okay. junior should have made it to season 2 atleast.
This series was so much fun and it got the ever evolving tone of the movies right. Happy to hear that there is a season 2 coming our way and can't wait to watch it. Great interviews y'all, as always. B~)
The kids did such an amazing job acting in Chucky
I went from being terrified of chucky because my brother had the real-life inspiration of the good guy dolls to absolutely loving the series as an adult. It's such a good IP
I absolutely love this channel anytime I get bored I just come to here just to see if they upload you guys who made this channel really put a great impact on my life and I just wanted to say +15 social credits.
+15 social credit
Yesss! Your so lucky you got to meet the whole kid cast of Chucky and Don! I loved this show!
Chucky has been such a huge part of my life. I had to go to the hospital for months and months as a teen and always had my little portable dvd player with me. I must've watched the Chucky movies like a hundred times back then. They weirdly helped me stay sane.
The show was so damn nice, can't wait for the second season!
The tv series has invested me into a franchise that I was only mildly interested in for most of my life. It's silly and fun and horrific and earnest. Looking forward to season 2!
Honestly, I was kind of surprised you didn’t mention the Chucky kill count at the end to Mancini but I am glad you brought it up to the rest of the cast. The kids were great interviews. I think it was really cool that you moved them around which made us focus on the screen instead of just listening while doing something else.
The Chucky franchise was one of the first horror movie series I had heard of when I was a child. Seed of Chucky will always hold a place in my heart, having a character explore their gender identity in such earnest way was very important to me.
I liked these new teen characters more than I thought I would - even if the lead actor is shaky. I also enjoyed the new adult characters. I hope Don Mancini turns Lexy's mom into a (Scream 2 era) Gale Weathers-esque charatcter for season two.
"The soul has weight and strength."
That's honestly really beautiful 🥲
Thank you Alex Vincent for being so amazing 👏
Awesome video James. I'm a huge fan of your videos and the Mortal Kombat stream and kill count was excellent!
Also good luck with your wedding and be good people!
Love the series chucky franchise is my favorite went from being terrified of the sight of chucky to can’t get enough it ❤️ 🔪
This show was so good, the cast so great too !
The family of Lexy' actress is a legendary horro family with her and her sister who plays Melanie in the babysitter movies and the snake bite girl in my favorite movie of all time Doctor sleep !
Really liked every bit of the first season, can't wait for season 2 ! Those young actors are killing it !
I’m amazed every time I watch you guys doing a new interview, I’m so happy you get to meet all these amazing people who contribute to the horror genre and happy for you I know you must be so giddy inside whenever your talking to any of these guys
I think this interview made my whole life better, I literally have been thinking about requesting a magic kill count since I watched it about last year and I loved it
Magic? Never heard of that one
Don seems like the nicest guy ever
Chucky has always been a big part of my life but i find it funny that at first i only knew chucky from watching parts of it as a very young child and being scared shitless and unable to sleep at my grandmas place because there were puppets absolutely everywhere. But through your channel i eventually learned how fun these movies are and what a intriguing franchise with such amazing people behind it
I had a feeling Lexi’s actor would be nice in real life the meanest characters are always played by the nicest people. Plus, it’s cool that her real life mother got to cast as her mother on the show that’s cool
I hope you guys get to do an interview with Neve, Courtney, David, and the new cast of Scream. It’d be so fun and great marketing.
It’s up!
Been waiting on this since the finale. You guys absolutely killed it
My biggest questions are:
Will Glen/Glenda appear in the show proper come season 2? (If one hasn't already been secretly introduced in season 1 that is.)
Is Kyle dead? Please tell me that isn't how a fan favorite legacy character goes out.
Is Nica ever going to be allowed to again have the agency she had in Curse and Cult?
At this point it's just becoming mean spirited and gratuitous the way her character is being tortured.
For the first one, I can't really say. It's a possibility. When Don announced and confirmed season 2, I could see a Glen doll in the background, so we might just get to see him. I'm still curious to whether Ms. Fairchild is Glenda or not. When Detective Evans noted her past, I was on the edge of my seat thinking it was her. But I'm not sure.
The second one, I doubt Kyle is dead. That gloved hand at the end of the season had to be her. At least thats what I assume, and I doubt Don would kill her off. She and Andy are a Chucky mutilating duo, so it makes sense she would survive. Now that all three kids are on their own, all they can rely on is Andy, Kyle, and if they can convince her, the mayor. She might have questions as to what happened in the cinema.
The last one, I REALLY don't know. Nica has just gotten the shit end of everything since Curse and I don't think it'll stop there. She's lost her family, she was framed by Chucky and admitted into a psychiatric hospital and convinced she killed them, molested by her doctor (who also played Lexi's dad in the series, so he gets to die two times in a row), fighting over control of her body with Chucky, had sex with Tiffany (honestly, that last one isn't bad. It's Jennifer Tilly in a blonde wig, and she still looks like she's in her late 30s). Then, she was sedated, held hostage against her will, and now she's a quadruple amputee who can't fight back. I honestly don't think we'll find her in the best shape next season, especially with Chucky's soul still in her body trying to kill Tiffany.
Which reminds me, the fact that she's the reason the events of the first Child's Play even began shook me. The second she picked up the phone and asked to speak to Detective Mike Norris, I slammed my furniture a few times and was all, "NO WAY!!!" Chucky even makes a little callback to the movie when he says he's going to get Tiffany for it and says, "No matter what!" Which reminds me of his words to Mike Norris as he was dying in the toy store.
My question is detective mike norris coming back becacuse i really want to see him like his good and a good character to help andy because hes charles lee rays archnemesis.
One of those questions is now answered
@@jloh3256 very excited to see them both back. There's probably gonna be some kind of Zuko and Azula energy between the 2 of them.
@@mellemadswoestenburg1296 for sure. I’m sooo excited for Glen, they’re such a sweet character in a franchise that is so brutal. It’s a nice contrast and allows for some really sweet moments, I hope they aren’t jaded by their experiences tho like Andy. You can definitely see that the trauma caught up to him and Kyle. Understandable and justified given their past, but still tragic.
I love teo so much he's such a cool person, he's got that groovy vibe going on and i just love it
I love how all of the teen actors/actress watch Dead Meat.
This is the coolest thing omg I love Don Mancini
Don is awesomeness you can tell he loves us fans.
I’m a teenager and it being mentioned as YA was great, I’m 16 and I loved the show and heavily related to many of the character in different ways so they did a great job. Thank you!! 😊
Honestly i went from being terrified of chucky at a young age (thanks to my step-grandfather having a good guys doll in the living room) to slowly over the years watching more horror and loving chucky, and this show was such a miracle and i love it
I am a big fan of chucky franchise and I watched chucky films & the new tv series when my dad was in hospital it helped me forgot my problems for a while and he passed away last month and it's weird but rewatching chucky helped me in a way it was a distraction. It sounds stupid but I dont care. Just want to say a big thank you to Don Mancini for this iconic franchise you are a legend🙌👏❤ xxx
So awesome of you to be able to interview Don Mancini and the cast of the Chucky TV Show! The show was a major roller coaster, and seeing this interview after all that is something I didn't know I needed, but I'm glad we got. Great job, James and Chelsea! You're killing it like you always do!
Just finished the season and it was fun to watch ! Great seeing Don he seem like he enjoyed the interview as much as you guys did. I'm happy you got to interview the cast as well it was great to hear how they worked with Chucky. I'm really kinda sad no Teo next season I really want to see the four of them grow even more next season. But who knows what they will be doing next season.
1:21 I had an eye doctor's appointment came home this was on a Tuesday I went right to bed when I wake up I realise I MISSED CHUCKY.Then someone had posted it on youtube
Child’s play / Chucky is The first Horror Franchise I got into as a adolescent, I originally would watch it around 8-9 to overcome my fears as a child because I would get teased about it by my cousins
He’s one of my favorite killers in horror
will be interesting to see what they do with Season 2. Definitely nice to see a franchise that had been relegated to streaming/DVD not only come back to the mainstream on TV but to have such an awesome moment to be able to bring in every cast member from the films. That's pretty unheard of.
I loved the series soo much! Plus we all know the horror genre is like 30 years behind everyone else in terms of representation so as a queer teenage horror fan this series really was such a blessing
It really is nice that there is more representation in horror movies, like Chucky and like fear street
Don mancini is my idol, amazing you had them all on here. Love the show James great work as always
I'm a big Chucky fan. Child's play 2 was the first horror movie I saw and it scared the crap out of me. Once I got older I overcame that fear and just grew to love it all. It's great how Don and Brad have been with it all. It really makes the series that much better
I went and watched the entire 8 episodes in just one sitting yesterday, just because of this interview.
I started watching it, and immediately FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!
Hell, after finishing the finale, I restarted the season, just because it was so good.
I hope this show goes on for years to come.
Oh, and Jake Wheeler is probably my favorite Main Protagonist out of anything, EVER btw. When his Dad broke that sculpture, it broke my heart 💔. Didn't think it deserved the electric chair, but was still a dick move lol.
Chucky was the show I didn't know i needed this year.
Don Mancini seems like such a chilled dude.
most jaw dropping moment was what Tiffany did to poor Nica
that was absolutely the most horrifying moment in the whole season for me
I loved the chucky tv series it was really good
I'm really liking Chucky so far, I've watched every episode except the season finale and I can't wait to see what season 2 holds in store
It's nice to see Don so excited while explaining how the shows and movies worked
If I had to choose a horror franchise to move to a tv series, it would be Chucky.
I’ve also loved the emphasis on the meaning of “Child’s Play”. Chucky this whole series is trying to recruit children to “play” and kill.
Like this first season really felt like the start of Chucky’s ultimate end game!
Genuinely would love to see this series go crazy and have almost an apocalypse of Chucky dolls.
I definitely hope to see more chucky
15:28 I've always thought that even though he's a doll the voodoo gave him Charles Lee Ray's strength as a human.
I was thinking the same thing
More like superhuman? Metahuman? Idk

For those of you who have been wondering
Holy hell this is such a treat!
DeadMeat brightens my day. Thanks good peeps.✌
Hey Jason
What success! Congratulations Dead Meat gang between this, the interview with Jamie and the scream house, you’re living the dream!
Hope to see these kids in other works they seem like great young actors.
Great interview! Me and my family loved the show! Excited for season 2
Good thing Chelsea got to be in this interview
It would’ve been really creepy/funny if the Chucky puppet behind Don suddenly “came to life” for a little and moved then went back like nothing happened
I loved this one! It was such fun to see everyone just enjoying themselves while answering these questions.
Also Bjorgvin seems like such a cool dude
I'm such a fan of this movie and was really excited for the TV series. Seen it all, love the soundtrack. Can't wait for next year, next season! 💕💕
I was always happy when the title card came up because the sound track is a bop
This show changed everyone I knew on Chucky! They all love him now and want to check out the older material
Still haven't been able to see the final episode but this show has been so good!! My dad and I are big Chucky fans we lived how every episode got better. All the actors are phenomenal, I can't believe how grown Zachary looks despite his age!
I don't even notice when Chucky the series release! That's why when James get a copyright strike I can't get how the industrie is, sometimes, so obtuse. Amazing interview guys!
Wow this is a packed weekend
I like how witty chucky is.
ouuu, that ending, “and now a word from our sponsors” then your ending is just chefs kiss😗
I really like this show and am pumped for season 2!

Reason why chucky is my all time fav horror villian is because he has the best and most personality out of all of them. Plus he is the cutest as well
Great interview. RIP JR though, maybe in flashbacks lol
