Here's something to think about: of the four groups from episode 10, three of them were led by Korean members. Each of those three teams had moments either in this episode or the previous one praising these leaders. And yet, the fourth team, which was led by a Japanese member did not have an arc showing off their leader, despite this being not only her third time being the leader but also the third time that her team won the benefits.

Why invite the Chinese trainees if you never wanted Chinese members in the first place...
Bc laws changed midway through the show airing (Kris Wu arrest) regarding idol culture in china, aka Mnet lost their reason to promote the chinese members (hence why they had decent edits in the beginning, with exception of FYN), so they are trying to make up profits by adding another favourable member to the lineup from the korean (maybe japanese but unlikely) market to boost their sales later on. At this point, the less chinese members in the final lineup, the better. The only reason why they can't target SXT is bc she has such a strong fanbase and has so many votes. If anything they will do their best to push a korean trainee for the centre position (likely dayeon), like how they did for PD48, to keep the korean market happy (lucky for them SXT also has good votes in korea so they don't have to try and remove her).
Not to mention how Xingqiao was screwed with the edit on all missions so far.
Girl it started with fu yaning, ling jiao, Wang ya Le, cai bing, sui ruiqi, they gonna try xiao ting next cause good forbid they have a Chinese centre
Ok I agree with the fact that they are villinizing the Chinese trainees. BUT they can’t force Fu Yaning say things and I still think what she said in ep.1 is kinda f’ed up. I don’t think it was the editing for that one.

I find the way Cai bing was treated this episode shows mnets intentions…. The one week where she doesn’t mess something up or does rlly well she gets literally no screen time
I thought I was the only one who saw it. They are trying to boot off my girl. The only time she said something was when she fought over Yujin and her parts in Snake. She didn't get any praises or reactions during her performance.
They just kept enforcing the "Cai Bing bad leader" trope to give the viewers a reason to not vote for her. Honestly, I'm voting for the Chinese line so MSnake doesn't win.

I found it funny when mnet was trying to film the Su Ruiqi 'drama' when she gave up main vocal, but Cai Bing was in the way, just vibing while practising.
And she can probably dance and has improved, mnet is probably trying to make her mistakes very noticeable though :(

I feel like people don’t really appreciate how talented Bora is. She has one of the most unique voices of this generation and she would be a perfect member of the final group :)
tips for Bora to debut:
1) always vote for bora in K group
2) in C and J group, vote only for trainees that almost always been in the top 3 constantly (shen xiaoting, yurina, & mashiro). bc they're always at the top, it won't change the ranking even if we give xiaoting 1Million or 1Billion more votes. she'l always be rank 1. but most importantly, it means you don't give vote to other mid rank trainees, which might result in Bora elemination.
3) voting for C and J group trainees that are mid rank (rank 4-18) will result badly. bc Bora IS competing with them for top9 placement.
4) if your favorite C and J trainees are not those 3 people I mentioned, you have to understand that voting for your other faves might result in Bora elemination. so basically you have to decide one trainee that you'd like to save. voting for 2 or more "underdogs" trainees will only make Bora lose at this point.

Honestly, at this point it feels like Mnet is dragging the competition with the next elimination instead of using the last round to form the debut line. I’m stressed and tired because I’m constantly afraid that my favs won’t make it. Imagine how mentally and physically exhausted the girls must be.
i’ve been thinking this. the next episode could’ve been the finale tbh where they pick the lineup from the current 26 girls. they also could’ve omitted the filler episode from last week, it unnecessarily dragged it all out. i get so stressed and anxious before every episode even when it’s not eliminations because i always fear Mnet will evil edit my picks and sabotage their chances! i can’t even imagine how stressful all this is on the girls themselves

Mentors sabotaged Snake. Bold statement but after seeing the Ruiqi Yaning switch, I'm sure of this.
The comments below already stated what I wanted to but I want to point out that they weren't MENTORING, they're criticizing a good group to bring them down. If Ruiqi wasn't that good, MENTOR her. That's just simple. Is the sophistication of 3 words incredibly important to disrupt the whole line distribution?
Also, not only did Ruiqi's confidence tanked, Yaning had immense pressure and the girls were stressed.
Now when Yaning failed the high note, she's greedy she can't control her power? She's under practiced, what can you expect?
The episode, especially the Snake part, just disappointed me overall.

THIS! I strongly believe that they would've won had they left the parts as they were. It feels like the mentors only know how to criticize except for in some rare moments.
Yujin was not 100% ready too during the interim check, But She practised Hard and did well. Snake tip had to change main vocals such a short time. If they didn't change they will be edited as rude trainees who didn't listen to judges. i listened to the Snake official mp3, tanning sounded goof their, but the sudden pressure on her and extensive practice wore her voice out. I'm sad that Chinese girls came from so far and then getting villainized and cyberbullied in a foreign country.
PREACH they should have just called them judges not mentors that don't do good mentoring.
I 100% think Mnet told the judges to do it though. This way they're tanking 2 popular Chinese contestants (Yaning's rank went up so much during the midpoint check wow) so they'll have more spots for Korean trainees. They aren't even subtle about evil editing Chinese trainees lol
I just want everyone to know, before they say Fu yaning is a bad vocalist, that the masters told them to change their parts 2 days before the actual performance.
Fu yaning isn't fluent in Korean and she had to learn the whole main vocal lines and choreography in just 2 days, all this while being pressured by the masters and being super stressed
And she nailed every single part of the performance except for the highnote? I think she did amazing considering her circumstances
Yaning probably has one of the lower tones in the entire show and yet they chose her to go for the super high note. Plus she did the intro better than Su Rui Qi AND THEY STILL WANTED THEM TO SWITCH. Girls were set up to fail
On the studio version Fu yaning slayed as a main vocal ! Her highnote is amazing ! Sad that on the performance version she couldn't hold the highnote but she must have been in a lot of pressure

i saw this on tumblr so here you go it basically talks about how it wasn't yaning's fault that they lost.
a professional vocalist started a thread on reddit where he talked about how the snake note was impossible to hit. Before hitting a high note, the main vocal always stands and takes a breath, with the challenging choreography of snake Yaning couldn't do that. He goes into a lot of detail with breathing techniques, etc., etc.

The point is that even after not having sufficient time to prepare, Yaning did everything perfectly but her high note. And, she could've hit this note if she just stopped doing the choreography. But, we all know that masters would've criticised her for that.
The fact that Chae Hyun had a legit voice crack and Mnet barely showed the masters criticising her and even covered it up with auto tune and Yaning didn't even have a voice crack, her voice was just strained while hitting the note, but the masters acted like it was the disappointment of the century.
The worst part was Dayeon getting praised for breathing... like Yaning had two days to prepare for her main vocal part, the only reason she f***d up was because her high note was impossible to hit with that choreo, and her f*** up was also just a strained voice, not even a voice crack.

@@lisasgf9636 haha no way, i dont think this channel likes yaning, or c trainees in general, they've made it painfully obvious, especially with their first few vids of this series. its sad, sinophobia do be spreading fast. as a yaning/ cai bing/ rui qi/ dayeon stan i'm just too exhausted, we keep defending our faves but nothing will get through the skulls of some people.
What I don't get is that vocal 2 (the one that Su Ruiqi ended up getting) still has the "baem, baem, beam" line that she was criticized for (unless she was critisized for something else that wasn't shown, due to evil editing) . Like I was glad that Fu Yaning got the main vocal, because she's my top C trainee along with Wen Zhe, and she nailed it in the studio version. But with two days left until the performance, they should have just left the parts as they were, and the worst we'd have gotten is "baem, baem, baem" being sung "unstylistically" 2 more times than what we ended up with.

u+Me and Shoot teams ended up performing like already debuted groups, their chemistry and charisma was on point
Honestly before the performances I expected Utopia team or shoot team to win (was rooting for shoot but thought utopia would have the upper hand) but was a little disapointed with the utopia performance overall. They were great and yes the judges were too harsh on them but they felt a bit off with the chemistry. Nonethless a great performance
U+me were amazing though I do like Utopia as a song is was so good and I think if they cleaned up more during practice then they would have won given how good Yeseo, Yurina and Bora performed.
Agreed! I was super disappointed since their arm formation was all over the place and the camera man kept avoiding bora like the plague, like sir can you show the person singing instead of bopping from person to person. It was just off the entire time but again some fantastic vocals on there!

Tbh though the Chinese trainees aren’t great in quality and pretty one-dimensional. They also tend to make lots of drama (Cai Bing lol and the whole Chinese vote for Chinese thing) whereas the J and K trainees are more peace loving so, it made sense to keep them till the final cut
@@rabbit-rw4sw i don't think that chinese trainees are less peaceful than korean or japanese trainees. I'm pretty sure it's just a case of editing - they cut moments when K or J are angry and show only C's bad moments. everyone would snap after not sleeping well for so long and that much practising

MNET tried to "evil editing" Ruiqi because she didn't want that part, but in my opinion mnet could have done better (I ABSOLUTELY DON'T SUPPORT EVIL EDITING, ESPECIALLY AGAINST RUIQI), like they literally showed Ruiqi yawning and that made me wheeze so bad 🤣
Btw, I liked when Wen Zhe tried to tell Ruiqi about her behaviour like she did during the 1° Mission. Wen Zhe has got my total respect
Yeah also Xiaoting was a really good teamate being straight forward and minimizing the situation. I swear mnet probably tried to evil edit her but failed hahahaha. Actually it was a pretty good group unforunately the mentors are a joke tho I do get that Fu yaning is good at singing certain notes I just think that it was an abrupt change that just didn't make sense since they've been practicing that and the only comment is it needs to be more exciting which the girls could have adjusted during performance with the suden change.

Btw, the mentors have a good 75% of the fault, however the girls could have thought about that a bit more and maybe they could have done another "audition" for the main vocal position between Ruiqi and Yaning.
Idk if I explained myself correctly and that was just my opinion, but the girls did a great job in the final performance.

They just share opinions that don't really help that much and even bring down the girls so that the "mentors" look "good" like they pretend to do some heavy lifting to help the girls.
Yeah, I get you. They sould've done another audition even just for fainess but they did great for what they were given. Like as if a performer could change that much and perfome good given that amount of time.
I think as much as they don't want to change it, the mentors will be stricter and put Ruiqi in the spotlight more and they believe in the "Mentors last say" kinda thing

Ruiqi actually could pull off the high note, and I feel like the purposely didn’t show much of her doing that because she was probably doing well. If she cracked, all we would’ve seen would be that. Meanwhile she loses the main vocal part and STILL has to do the part they criticized her for.

I felt like the judges rlly messed up this time. If they had kept their original positions they could’ve done a lot better. Even though fu yaning executed certain lines better than ruiqi, I don’t think the judges got to see her actually try the high note. Ruiqi did the high note the best out of all the ppl in the snake group. I would’ve sacrificed ruiqi’s “boring execution” of the line “bam” (why was that even a big deal) over the mess up of the high note. Ruiqi would’ve done well and yaning wouldn’t have been criticized for messing up.

ruiqi was sad because being swapped out made her doubt herself and her skills not because of the position itself! the translations on the show always suck. her parts were also shared with you dayeon before. I feel like this show has just shaken her confidence more than anything it's very sad to see :(

I was ready for Utopia to be my top pick from the four groups, but U+Me was just perfect. I will say that May winning all the missions but getting so little screen time is just so sad. And while the other trainee who has won every mission, Mashiro has gotten more than May, she too has been relatively offscreen for most of the episodes. Which considering her overall ranking, is kinda crazy.
Its crazy how May and Mashiro NEVER LOSE. Like NEVER 😂 but both arent even given the screentime they deserved..
I never give attention to May in chebul (yea thanks FNC for giving her no lines) but she is talented AF

i think they did that to snake on purpose, they knew snake was going to be the best performance, also they know all the girls in the group have a strong personality so making Rui Qi vs Yaning vs the team was going to explode as it did, like they know they cant do nothing with the votes nor manipulate results so they are doing what they can so there is a small ratio of mandarim speakers while there are more koreans on the top 17.
If you count the girls they criticized was Xiaoting, Rui Qi , fu Yaning, Xingqiao, that are all mandarim speakers/ C group, and Ruan hsin wei and Yujin, i believe, but yujin they gave a redemption arc like "we criticize you so the audience feel sorry and then have a redemption arc, look how she worked hard and lead their team mates so they would succeed", while the C group girls aside from hsin wei that served for yujin arc, was like " look how bad they are, some we will show you how bad they are then not give them screen time and some we will keep going on this narrative"
also its not yujin fault, obviously, she is on my top 3 k group girls, but its to show how mnet is desparate and cant hide

this was so unfair to Ruiqi. they didn’t make anyone on the other teams switch parts even if they were heavily struggling, they let them practice and improve. then they didn’t even show Ruiqi’s main vocal parts during the interim check and nitpicked her based on the bam bam bam part that Yaning’s part also had, and she didn’t do that part any differently to Ruiqi? like why make them switch after they’d been practicing it like that for a week? not to mention the evil editing on Ruiqi making it look like she was half assing the practice and having an attitude when she was just upset and doubting herself. this show has slowly made her lose confidence in herself…she went from confidently being able to say she expected to be in second place in episode 2 to now breaking down into tears saying she’s not as good as she thought and it’s so heartbreaking

She's not part of my main pick but she would be a great addition to the group and I love her so much. I only started getting into cherry bullet because I fell in love with her while watching this show
It’s because the k group is highly competitive and it doesn’t help that we can only vote for one. For example I would like to vote for Yu-jin, Myah, and Bora. But I can only vote one or possibly rotate through the week. So that’s less votes because it’s not just that one person everyday.
She was a last minute addition to most of our lists~ Imagine already voting for 9 girls in the start, and trying to fit 1 more~

There’s another explanation: CB is not so popular in Korea as they should be. 50% of the votes is from k-guardians and other 50% from international guardians. That means that even if half of us always voted Bora, Koreans probably won’t vote her

Sure thats why they showed Cai Bing's entire speech about accepting dayeon as the leader during the mission in ep 9. They could have cut up that if they wanted cause nothing relevant happened there.
If they really dont want any chinese member to debut except xiaoting then they should just let the people vote for whoever they want without k-c-j restrictions,it is as simple as that. And that way they would make sure that happens cause c trainees are probably the less popular ones except for xiaoting,specially in Korea which is 50% of the votes. Instead of "evil editing" which actually is not gonna change anything cause the restrictions are just there,people have to choose a chinese member even if they dont want to so there will still be more chinese in the lineup like that.
@@javierrodriguez8777 no dude, they literally evil edited cai bing in order to compare her ”poor leadership” to dayeon to further push how talented dayeon is and how great of a leader she is. cai bings speech about dayeon was in no way or form a redemption, but only a way to further push the narrative that the korean trainees are more talented and nicer than the other girls. it was literally only added cus it pushed the narrative that even though dayeon is way younger than the chinese trainees, she is still the most talented out of the entire group. sure, im happy cai bing got to show shes not as heartless as the previous episodes intended to make us believe, but the reason the speech was shown was not in anyway for the audience to forgive her, but for us to support dayeon and the k group more. even though cai bing has never been one of my picks, these latest episodes made me vote for her out of sympathy of how shes been portrayed

SRSLY THO. Can they just let the main vocal rest for some seconds from the choreo and focus on their vocal parts.

I think intially Mnet added Chinese contestant into this show because of how big the China market is, but recently China have put on something like a ban on the promotion of Kpop and fandoms in China, and Mnet prob already understood that they'll gain nothing from promoting in China right now and they just kinda drop every other chinese contestants as they're not a usefull tool to them anymore.

yea i totally agree with you and Yaning did not even do that bad like how mnet portrayed it. She did great at the other main vocal parts and even at the original vocal part she switched with Rui Qi. Maybe she did move too fast a little, but it was so subtle. Those 3 you mentioned are my top Chinese picks as well.
But at the same time, because they cant rig the votes there is a possibility that there is more than 1C in the top nine. And if they do rig the votes to make 5K, 3J and 1C, then i pray that they get caught, go to jail and banned from making survival programmes for gd.

Right after the cai bing "scandal" I knew that mnet targets c trainees. And a lot of people where mad at me and told me I was wrong but this is just not a coincidence anymore. Almost every episode a c trainee is the villain and is lazy or has a bad attitude.

I think that based on how it was cut, that the mentors praised Bora but they cut it out idk kinda seemed like it also mnet is probably pissing themselves because given the voting ranks and how competitive the k group is, there're despirately trying to sabotage the other trainees to give more k members a chance to rank higher since the after show longevity of the group would heavily depened on the koreans.

I am not a fan of any of these girls, I just wanted to watch a music competition and my absolute favorite performances were U+Me=Love and Shoot, they were absolutely flawless. Especially U+Me=Love because they came from zero and delivered spectacularly! Yujin did an amazing job as a leader, all my praise goes to her.
Also, I believe many members are being sabotaged in the show because, the do not fit the aesthetic they are going for. I don't know if I explain myself. For example, Bora and even Shana. That is what I've noticed

Tbh, the mentors did sabotaged Snake. Fu Yaning can sing, but she has never had a main vocal part and her voice is deep. Giving her the main vocal part 2 days before they perform was stupid because she doesn't have the vocal range or time to practice to sound good.
Also, I like Sunmi, but ever time she opens her mouth on this show I want her to shut up. She never says anything nice or helpful to the girls unless it's about their "aura". She suggested the main vocal change, only to say the snake team "should be nervous" of U+Me team and be disappointed Yaning couldn't pull it off live. This as well as the mentors calling Yaning greedy because she switched the part THEY suggested really was messed up.
I was looking to Utopia the most. They could've been so good. Congrats to U+Me for pulling that stage off!

I don't get why Bora doesn't get the proper appreciation in this show ???? she's literally carrying every performance with her vocals and leadership she's one of the most dedicated contestants here but instead of praising her everyone including the judges keeps focusing on other trainees like dayeon and suyeon ( not that they don't deserve they also slayed but still :( )
Bahiyyih did so well this time as well but mnet never shows her growth or no one ever complements her. Like she's one of the members who carries the vocals in Fiesta and Shoot? She's also such an elegant dancer and her expressions have gotten so much better. And people still try to downplay her talent and popularity saying its cuz of her brother. Even with all the hate she still continues to shake those off and maintain a kind and calm personality.

@@euneiros a studio version is never a good comparison... they will take as many takes as posible to get a good enough recording and edit it as necessary afterwards...
Ngl Yaning's voice really suited the song but Su Ruiqi's voice suits the high note, they could have switched the parts while keeping Ruiqi for the highnote because Yanning has a lower register and Ruiqi has a treble register so she could have used head voice easily for the high note. Just my opinion tho because Yanning's voice really did make the song better.

I guess Mnet (and I think her agency too) doesn't want Bora, or May to end up in the final linup cause it would conflict with cherry bullet own promotion. Minhyuk had a lot of backlash from solo stan who didn't want him to go back to nuest, and I.O.I had the same issues with conflicting schedules.
After that, I think they got the lesson that it's better to go to the final round and not be part of the debut group. Bora, Jiwon and May did their job, their purpose wasn't to make it into the debut group but to promote cherry bullet. I honestly think that's why Jiwon and Doha didn't make it either, they'll be too strong visual and center with different promotions for their own group which would be a hindrance to Mnet.
And honestly with the rating the show has and the produce curse, I don't think their losing much from an outside stand point. Nuest was the biggest thing after p102, and only idol with super strong popularity, which means center often, got a good start in their career.
Like I feel, Somie, Chungha, Wjns, Daniel, Nuest ( Maybe Cix and Ab6ix ? )are the only one who didn't didn't fall of top trending idol.

Honestly, I don't know if it was because I wasn't in a good mood yesterday, but I didn't feel too inmersed in this episode and the overall impression of the performances wasn't excellent, I expected more of the girls since the finals are coming soon. After watching all the performances I knew that U+Me was going to win, it had close to none flaws. Also, Mashiro being the benefit queen like wow, she won benefits in every round.
The issue with the Chinese contestants is really evident and it annoys me very much. I was uncomfortable in those segments when they were trying to drag Ruiqi and Xingqiao down. I know that they made mistakes, but there was no need to portray the situations like that. Also, they didn't show Xiaoting's part from the trailer, which got me worried for the whole last week and I was like wut?
I'm worried about next round and the final line up. I wonder who will survive and go to the finals because it's not really predictable considering that rankings always change (for example, Caibing and Yaning, I almost seems like the exchanged places). I really want Bora, Wenzhe, Manami and Youngeun in the finals if possible.
The best moments in the whole chapter for me where Yaning and Caibing fighting for Yujin's love and Wenzhe and Xiaoting with the ballons, they were like dumb and dumber XD

i thought i was gonna get a mostly happy vibe during episode 10 and saw how msnake laid low at the beginning, oh i was so wrong hahaha, but I at least felt less stressed compared to previous episodes haha. The Chinese trainees deserve so much better. I hope after this show, they can be in other groups and leave mnet's hold. I have low expectations for Mnet now to debut more than one Chinese trainee sadly. Also, Yaning with a G did not even do that bad tbh (she was just pressured last minute to get the high note for main vocalist, but she did great in the rest of the song (the beat was hard to catch up with). I loved the U+Me=Love performance, but I also loved the snake performance.

I jist noticed that Mnet also over emphasized Chahyun's crack during the audition. IDK wether that had any relationships with her being anxious over her line in the chorus for Utopia but in the "Full Version" video, Chaehyun's crack is actually not obvious (please bear in mind that it might just be her perfectionism brought by hard training, not trauma over one incident). It had the same instability as Yujin's fragile high note and Yeongun's kinda strained one. Aside from Xing Qiao, I noticed that Yeseo started of Shakey with her "Oh Woah~" but the judges didn't go 🧐. I guess because her voice is naturally good so her flaws stand out more, but it's kinda unfair that all she gets is "you fit well with the theme of the song". If Dayeon really is the poster child for the next group, it's probably gonna be a dance-oriented group that will not need complicated high notes. Maybe sm like Pristin or Woo Ah?

as mentor they suppose to give them tip and help how to hit the note not judge and rate how they perform. Koo young master are the most helpful master cause he help and give support to the trainee. While the vocal masters, they suppose to help them more, they should help the trainee how to control the breath and hit the note when they r on stage. It's was a fun episode but I thought we would get to see the recording process too. I like when they show the girls in the studio.
And about 'Snake': imo they would've won if they didn't change the positions, and that's why they changed it. But except for the high note, FYN did well and SRQ worked with what she was given. Obviously SXT is the stand out (her ballroom dancer experience really shows up in the way she's able to look sexy and elegant), with Hikaru and Cai Bing as honorable mentions. Dayeon is always kinda just there, not bad, not great... Wen Zhe was the only one who I think should've been criticized. Her voice sounded so flat and muffled. It didn't match the song at all.

Why are people praising Dayeon as a leader so much when she wasn't even able to protect her team in terms of the interest of the team as a whole by standing up to the masters when they suggested the role-switch between Fu Yaning and Su Ruiqi. Also, after the role-switch was accepted, there certainly was a problem with Su Ruiqi, it was so obvious that Wen Zhe did something about it. But wasn't it the responsibility of the leader to do so? Why didn't she do anything to sort out her teammates' issues - both Su Ruiqi's disappointment and also the little argument between Wen Zhe and Su Ruiqi?
If you watch the whole episode, Dayeon talked to Xiaoting about Ruiqi having "low energy because of part switch"
