@@starxmonTo respond to your question about why judges give criticism that is not always represented in the score. The final score is averaged between the votes of the judges and the live audience. In fact, the votes of the audience in the second mission were stronger than those of the judges.
Many people blame the judges for everything when their score is actually watering, first because it is a single average between all the judges + the guest judge and second because the audience vote is usually worth at least 50%.

Everyone made Chanelle snapping at Wonhee a much bigger deal than it had to be and then the judges laughing in her face when she was visibly upset and exhausted???? I bet if she wasn't half Korean and born before 2006, they wouldn't have treated her like that. Glad I didn't really get invested in the show and just watched from afar.

It was Chanelle's stans that made it a big deal tbh because they were afraid that Chanelle might've received negative reactions from Koreans (where Wonhee got more support). Koreans really didnt care abt it, they pitied the situation between Wonhee and Chanelle situation but disappointed to Chanelle because her hopelessness affected her performance. Ofc, some also have negative reactions about her having a weak mentality bcos she's going to debut as an idol.
About the laughing part, you should watch it WITHOUT bias pov because some are really pushing narrative about that part. Judges were amused rather than mocking Chanelle. You should not believe anything from tiktok, i swear.
I believe Chanelle's not debuting was because of her weak mentality that affects her performance and the producers got a negative impression abt her during the pride audition. Even the most viewers who were watching it without bias got it. Even some chanelle supporters were disappointed when she said it out loud that she doesn't want it anymore.

@@hanseolyoung5740 But the whole part was just rlly odd, like she said she didnt want the song and they couldve been understanding and just calmly told her they think she suits this song better but instead they laughed when this girl is clearly distressed and annoyed why does she have to be understanding when she isnt older than the judges and lets not get into how unfair some of the matches were like these girls also got like only a little bit of time to prepare it was so obvious who was gonna debut.
On top of all that this girl is already stressed about how the contestants who arent meeting the bare minimum of singing and dancing for high level were getting crazy screen time. Although it is true she shouldnt have said that it could have been a spur of the moment like lets say small annoying things keep piling up you might say "Im sick of this" or something on that level. im not defending her words but we should honestly look at how this situation might stress her out this girlie isnt even with her parents rn LOL.
On one hand its true that Wonhee and chanelle did have a lil moment it wasnt anything crazy I didnt even see anyone post abt it like crazy who was a chanelle stan i mean the whole situation was Chanelle was doing a song she didnt want to do and Wonhee doesnt want to do this part because the pitch is high and Chanelle doesnt wanna do it either so she just got a bit upset. Producers shouldnt be worried about her weak mentality because if they did they wouldve just scrapped the moment. Youre making it seem like the producers didnt already know the company already have their 4 picks LOL!!

@@carlmark4977 watch again the episode 8 and understand it without being bias to Chanelle. Put yourself in the shoe of the pds. They didnt know what Chanelle was going thru that time. They gave her main vocal position. The guest pd saw how not happy Chanelle was when they assigned it to her. They were amused by Chanelle's reaction that time. After they laugh, Lee hyun asked her respectfully and in a calm way why she wanted Scrum. The other pds calmly explained why the main vocal position fits her.
If you were in the position of the pds what would you think about her? The guest pd even thought that they gave Chanelle main position...why she was not happy?(again, they were not aware of Chanelle's problem) .
Not only that, they still let Chanelle audition in sub-vocal positions even though they already said that the next audition is for the trainees who don't have a main position yet. But Chanelle still stood infront of them. Lee hyun said "IM SURE SHE HAS REASON" and let her audition.
Dont forget that you watched a KPOP survival show not a western one. Seniority still stands for them. Chanelle was only a trainee. So as long as she was not an idol yet, she should respect whatever the pds say to her unless she's the one who made the song. She should leave a good impression. Sadly, she did otherwise.
If you know DA, one of the criteria of debuting is professionalism. I think Hybe applies it to all of their trainees.

@@hanseolyoung5740 once again I also understand what you mean but the difference is the producers have more footage than us meaning they definitely knew how mentally exhausted she was..
Obviously the problem with what the judges did was not giving her pride but it was them laughing at her even though she looks sick of it. Lee Hyun wasnt even the worst of them it was the other 2 that were laughing in her face and calling her ridiculous.
And the other problem was with the way they criticised her after the performance "You sang this song like you would sing scrum" that basically just means "You wouldve suited scrum just fine" But they turned it into something else entirely. The same was done with Jiwoo as well.
And its not like anyone couldnt tell that Jiwoo suited Pride way better than Scrum she's a natural darker concept girl its even laughable they came to the conclusion.
The judges asked Chanelle and even whispered "I'm not gonna change my mind"
The whole its a KOREAN survival show changes nothing even Korean netizens commented that the judges did a lil too much with her LOL
I'll be real if I was her the show was obvi rigged from the first few eliminations and they obvi saw the other episodes so she knows how she was edited this only makes the situation worse.
The producers obvi knew who they wanted to make look good and it def wasnt chanelle so what do the producers have to do with this?

what i think is crazy is the fact Chanelle ranked in the top in votes right before being eliminated. and the show showed the points that Chanelle got to be eliminated. like clearly Chanelle had votes to get into the "debut" ranks. but there should've been a rule or something where people voted into the debut ranks were safe from being eliminated or something like that.
it also reminds me of a non kpop related thing, where someone would go after someone else got points, so the judges had an idea of how many points to give so someone else to get to the next round. or the other way around where the judges would give the last person to go less points, so that someone else to get to the next round.

  • @hoes4ricky

I watched pretty much every single episode (except the sswfl one because as a Chanelle stan it really pissed me off) and honestly... what a major waste of time. The way how they kept pushing the minors is absolutely mind-blowing, yes the industry tends to prefer younger trainees but I haven't even see this much. The way they pushed Wonhee you would think she was extremely talented (i.e. Niki and Yujin) but NO. Underwhelming vocal, dance, stage presence, literally had nothing going for her except she looks cute but they keep pushing her for what? I've always been confused why they didn't push Himena at the beginning (in the first episode they didn't even air her audition and I had no idea who she was until attention) she has a amazing stage presence, versatile, she is even younger than Wonhee.. it's probably because she's Japanese and Wonhee is Korean. What really pissed me and other people off was when she got the highest score in My Bag. You wanna tell me that she got first instead of THE Bang Jeemin? They were saying she looked cute in a hip hop mission, WHAT PART OF HIP-HOP INVOLVES CUTENESS??? I remember they said Jeonguen was "too excited" in Scrum I think but Wonhee wasn't giving any facial expressions but they were praising her for... not having any facial expressions....?? The amount of ageism towards Jiwoo was infuriating.. she has never EVER made a mistake of stage, the BEST singer in the whole show, amazing leader, great dancer and has really good stage presence but ms Iroha who TRIPPED and FELL and made mistakes TWO times TWO TIMES managed to stay in high level?? Don't get me wrong Iroha is a great dancer with solid stage presence and... that's literally it... her singing... well (money flashbacks). Honestly Chanelle's elimination was kinda expected and I'm saying this as a hardcore Lunelle. She was disliked by knetz since she's wasian and theirs THAT incident with Wonhee that had 60% of RUNEXT twt drop her and the judges were gaslighting us into thinking her Eleven stage was "off-key" (off key where??) and gave her the second lowest points but Jiwoo not making it was the biggest shock. The only thing that kept her from getting eliminated before the finals was the amount of votes she had (she was like 3rd/4th in voting meanwhile Chanelle was 6th and Jiwoo has ALWAYS been in the top 6). Jeemin and Jeonguen was a major shock too, they were both really popular in Korea and Internationally and Jeemin's rank in the finals was 3rd I think? Jeonguen's was like 5th so they SHOULD have debuted. Speaking of the finals the AUDASITY to call it a "global girl group" when they BARRED global stans from voting in the final is just.. wow.. we all know when Wonhee was 8th in global voting after the finale they panickeddd (They showed the interm rankings TWICE trying to sway us from voting our picks) and the lineup was comprised of 70% of Korean votes and 2 trainees were chosed by the judges? This rigging is worse then Produce (atleast MNET knew what they were doing unlike RUshit judges, how the hell is Yunah, Iroha, Youngseo and Wonhee in the same group??)

@hoes4ricky We can be besties. this is my exact thoughts on the show. glad i am not the only one feeling the frustration and unfairness of this show. it is RU rigged after all. wonhee was pushed to be the best all the time since the "my bag" performance that even a blind person can tell she was chosen by Hybe. all the other more talented girls were just pushed aside to make way for her to debut. i am hardcore chanelle stan and i can understand why some hated her after her outburst, so i can understand her not debuting. but, jiwoo and jeemin!? for real? they were pushed aside for wonhee? it's just madness! jiwoo ranked #1 for international votes throughout the show, how can she not debut? wonhee made it past due to knets in the end and international votes meaning nothing in the finals/ this is not global group, its korean group. they should not market this as "global"

    • @MROYvids
      @MROYvids 9 месяцев назад +12

HYBE definitely had an image in their heads of what they wanted the group to "look like". It's basically rigging to have judges hold a lot of power in that they can basically get a girl eliminated by giving her a dramatically low score despite her doing well i.e. Ruka and Moa in the Dance/Vocal Mission. Like how does their performance justify that score? And when did they disclose that 4/6 of the girls would be chosen by the company...oh at the FINALE. Like what was the point of voting? BIG SIGH

Furthermore ruka and funa both got no screen time despite being some of the most anticipated traineees. Jiwoo and channelle were hated from the beginning and because of the voting system many trainees who should have didn’t make it through like jeemin

tbh while watching runext i kinda expected chanelle and jiwoo to be eliminated
like they were my favs but i could tell from the moment the judges made the favoritism obvious
im not gonna that ONLY chanelle and jiwoo werent a part of the obvious bias the judges had towards the girls in runext but i just cant remember certain names
for example that one person that wore a beanie in money or the one with amazing facials with pigtails in tell me.
something that i also hated was the lack of chances moa had to prove herself. when first watching i was like whys she dancing so hard and like wondering if thatll make her voice non stable but i now realize that she just never had a song that fit her. i think she did best in tie a cherry and dance a bang but still she didnt have enough opportunities to show how well she can be. mad rigged honestly and wasnt even surprised when the best people that everyone hoped to be in the final line up got eliminated 💀

I’m only on the start of the video but I must remind everyone that one thing about how much dayeon was being pushed down our throats was when a team in which she wasn’t even IN go to her house a bonding time ?? Like wtf was that Mnet ?? Like why make all another team screen time all about dayeon’s childhood, home and mum 😶😶😶. And I feel like that strategy is very dangerous because you end up with people like me who can’t really like her because of how much they tried to make us like her (the usual contradiction effect). Also in BP we can see they tried to do the same with Park Hanbin and it ended up hurting him a lot because he and everyone were so sure he was going to debut because of how much the producers were pushing him and giving him false hope. No one wins when you act so blatantly like that. (Okay now back to the video)

IM FUXKING PISSED WITH HOW JIHYUN WAS MISTREATED . BEST DANCER ON THE SHOW WITH GREAT VOCALS . Round one her criticism made sense , she carried given taken performance and how did she not get the highest score . She did absolutely fabulous. She did great in the the boys and money but was so under appreciated . She had carried tell me performance but got edited to look like she stole all the parts for herself and did AMAZING IN I DONT CARE . HER AND MINJU WERE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THAT PERFORMANCE . Then in pride she got the sub vocalist 1 part which had parts similar to the main vocal channelle and executed them greatly not doing anything bad AND YET GOT CRITICISES FOR BEING SHAKY WHEN SHE EASILY WASNT , they needed a reason to not let her debut and give her low rankings cause she’s to talented . And eleven pisses me off , I have done singing for 4 years now and jihyun was not unstable at the beginning . She had perfect control of her voice and she had good pitch . She should debut and she got rigged and gaslighted into believing her vocals aren’t good cause the judges have favourites .Also channelle being off key made no sense , it would make more sense being off pitch but being off key means your a whole 8 notes above or below the correct pitch so we could hear that . Now should we talk about the most obvious proof that Runext is rigged : JEONGEUN
lemme first tell you jeongeun’s journey :
    - First round she got High Level, which was not easy with chanelle and Jiwoo as opponents.
    - Second, she was in the winning team EVERY SINGLE ROUND, and she is THE ONLY TRAINEE who has won every round without being the one with the less score
    - Third, Her vote was pretty low but the more the show was going the more her votes were increasing,
    - She was K-FANS FAVORIT, she got Top1 in korea one-pick voting
Then we get to the final, after she showed us how versatile she is + an amazing singer, dancer, performer and even rapper. Her votes increased a lot, She was top6
But she gets kicked out cuz she wasn’t a pd pick
And those producers didn’t debut the only one who has never lost + an amazing trainee ?
Look how ridiculous this is, Girl has do nothing wrong since the beginning of the show, keep improving, votes keep increasing and she Didn’t debut ? And pd didn’t even choose to debut her ?

i completely agree with you runext was so messy.. jeemin placing 1st in evaluations, doing well in all performances, high in votes and being constantly praised by the judges doesn’t make it in? the JUDGES don’t even pick her? they were saying all this shit like “now we get why you’re first” “jeemin is back!”
jeongeun being hated on by the fandom early airing because she got high instead of jiwoo or chanelle was so unnecessary, she also constantly did well and didnt lose a SINGLE round, but she didn’t get recognition. i repeat, doing well in every performance and being IGNORED by the watchers. i was relying on the korean voters to get in jeongeun because she was the most popular over there, and the last round of (live?) voting was only available for koreans. she would’ve made it from voting, getting 6th, but this utterly ridiculous FOUR judge’s pick screwed her chances.
the judges clearly did not like chanelle and it’s so disappointing that they go back on their words too.. how do you criticise someone for making a mistake but still give them a high score? are they pity points? fucking unfair. and when chanelle has a voice crack (which they can hear through their in-ears but we cannot hear it because the show LOVES editing all the girls’ vocals [what is the point of a survival show then..]) that the show editors didn’t deem bad enough to make an overdramatised edit as you said, but their deductions for her are worth hundreds?? compared to a VERY obvious mistake that doesn’t get points taken off? they’re comparing chanelle to her own past performances with different concepts, which is completely unfair because you should have the same standard for EVERYONE. the judges criticise the “good trainees” when they look awkward, but praise wonhee when she DOESN’T look awkward.. what kind of judges..? (this is not hate towards wonhee btw it’s to the judges)
they kneww they couldn’t get soyeon as a judge on this because otherwise their favourite trainees would easily get eliminated.. may not be rigging the votes, but definitely using cringe tactics to get the trainees they wanted into the group.

To respond to your question about why judges give criticism that is not always represented in the score.
I also want to add that having 3, 4 or 5 girls in a group does not make the final average higher or lower. Since the average is divided by the same number of girls, it's basic math. It could be argued that with more girls there is more opportunity for a high number, but there is also more opportunitie for a low number and that this destabilizes the final average. So there is no difference.
Another fact about the show: Korean votes were worth twice as much as international votes since they had the option to vote twice through Weverse and through Toss (a korean app). That is the reason why the numbers move quickly to favor the Korean public if necessary.
I do not believe that the numbers have been manipulated directly, but that certain tricks were used to favor certain participants. I have some examples of that.
    1. First, announcing (almost at the end of the program) that only two participants, the most voted, will be the public's choice and that the production is in charge of choosing the rest. Why didn't they announce this before?
I think this was a move to eliminate Jeemin. Although Jeemin's solo stans knew that she was not the first/second most voted, they were confident that she would be at least among the top 5 (in fact she was) That made them focus on other participants with less chance of debuting but who were also in their lineup. Maybe if they had known that only the first 2 places would be chosen by public votes they would have promoted Jeemin more and voted massively for her instead of giving another trainee a chance. (especially since the only locked girls were Youngseo and Minju)
    2. Panic vote for Wonhee and Iroha: It is suspicious that just one day before the last voting close, the production published a "preview" image of how the girls are positioned according to the general vote. The interesting thing about this image is that they only show us the position of 4 girls, the rest are kept secret with a question mark. So we have Youngseo in second place (most people guessed that Minju is in first). Jeemin in 4th place, apparently "safe", voters are not anxious.
The same does not happen with Iroha who was show in 7th place and Wonhee in 9th. This made their fans panic and vote en masse, even creating fake accounts. (Both had more domestic reach, so they could even be voted twice in a single day with a lot of accounts).
Even people who had other girls as their main pick but still liked Iroha or Wonhee would vote for them since according to the new update they were in "real" danger compared to for example Youngseo or Jeemin. I think this happened a lot in Korea.
The show repeated this technique in the final episode itself at the beginning of the program and it worked very well for them.

As someone who was active on weverse and watched each episode as it airs. I was furious about the final line up. Imo Iroha and Wonhee were both quite lacking in skills to debut which is going to drag the group overall. Then they announced the name which lets be honest its not good. I honestly cannot see the girls as a group still they just lack chemistry and clash in concepts. As I said when the show ended I am genuinely curious what they are going to do with these girls considering the current kpop market. We can look at the newest GG of the time Kiss of Life who made their debut with exceptional skills we have Belle who is an incredible vocals who has an incredible head voice and she pumps out those high notes like its nothing. We got Julie who is an incredible rapper she really brings such stage presence. We got Natty who is such a good dancer and has such stable vocals. Then Haneul who is the ace. We can also look at their closest competitors BM. BM is just on an insane level something they could never. With such a competitive market I want to see where the company goes with this one as Hybe has screwed themselves really. Especially since they so obviously rigged the show, you can see when it has come out that shows have been rigged what it has done to the groups. It almost disbanded Fromis 9.

My first lineup was Jiwoo, Yunah, Youngseo, Jihyun, Hyewon and Chanelle. For the final, it is Jiwoo, Yunah, Youngseo, Jeemin, Minju and Himena, yeah, so 3/9 of my lineup debuted. I really like the girl and enjoy their performance so much, but when I watched the show, it really made me feel uncomfortable, because of the result and the elimination, all of it pissed me off. I told my friend that she should watch the performance, not the show because of the rigging of this show. It's so sad that my Jiwoo can't debut, I really hope that she can debut as Jiwoo is very talented and gorgeous.
Aside from that, I'm sad that CaiBing can't enter finale too, I really like her stage presence and charisma, it's so heartbreaking that she was evil edited so much.

It was just like every single episode was mentioning the same narrative: Jihyun bad Jihyun selfish. I hope she isn’t too damaged after this experience…

I might be absolutely wrong, but I think sometimes the line ups are chosen based on who they think will have longevity in the industry? Like, wonhee might not be a standout contestant in terms of skills, but we cant deny that she’s really eye catching and has a likeable vibe about her. Also, her ability to improve so rapidly without any former training probably helped a lot too. Kinda like txt beomgyu and svt’s the8, they joined the team late and were clearly the ‘weaker’ members when they first debuted. But after a couple of years, both beomgyu and the8 are incredible performers and continue to have a very likeable personality. Just my little observation after being a kpop stan for 13 years. 🥲

59:55 you're wrong about this. the reason wonhee ranked 9th in the first round was because it was 6-pick and not 1-pick or 2-pick Had they done 2-pick, she wouldn't had been 9th. But in the 2nd round of voting, they changed it to 2-pick which made her rise. The same thing happened to bahiyyih. She was weak in 9-pick but super strong in 1-pick.
Wonhee has always been strong in 1-pick. She won the 1-pick voting and 2-pick voting events around 2 weeks before the finale and that voting was based on GLOBAL votes. So her rising to first place was not because of panic voting or because of korean voters. It's because they changed it from 6-pick to 2-pick.

I disagree with episode 8. I'm on the judge's side in this one. Chanelle and Jiwoo wanted the opposite songs, but Chanelle sounded much better with Pride than Scrum. You'll do songs you don't like as an idol and sometimes have to suck it up. I also don't feel like they were laughing at her but were just bewildered by the situation. She got the main vocal part and still had that look on her face. Jiwoo didn't get the part she wanted, but she sucked it up and kept her cool. I think Chanelle wasn't there at that point, and it played a part in her getting eliminated.
Also, Iroha making it was not surprising to me. She initially ranked high on the Hybe evaluation list and never left the top 6. I knew she was the one making it as opposed to Wonhee. Wonhee wasn't my pick initially, but she got better faster than I thought she would.
At this point, I accept the group as they are and will support them. More than enough of my favs made the group for me to support them. At this point, you either support or don't support the group. No need to keep harping on it. Nothing is going to change.
