I'm soo damnn nervous for the mic drop performance, gonna be honest after watching the preview for ep 4 I was really excited for them, but then I watched the solo cams of the performance that mnet released earlier and it seems that they did okay, but it really lacked that savage energy and stage presence, so I don't know what to think of now
I agree, I think the only ones that had the right level of energy were Lin Chen Han and Kitajima Yuna (iirc, also I'm not that familiar with them so I might be spelling theur names wrong but they stood out to me)
In my opinion none of the hylt team did amazing, both of them made mistakes here and there, like atleast both the yes or yes teams did pretty well and it was on a nice surface, but hylt teams both made big mistakes
I honestly half agree Both performance werent perfect But honestly tean 1 winning is the best decision they've made I would rather watch a performance with one mistake at the start but was consistently good all throughout Than a performance that messed up from start to finish
I agree and disagree. They both made mistakes but one group still did better than the other in terms of singing and dancing. The winning team made only one mistake whereas the other made multiple and was clear that they needed practice
Choreography mistakes can be fixed with more practice but vocal mistakes for a very popular song is almost unforgivable. The bridge was the deciding factor for me as team 2 was flat and it sounded really bad. Team 1 sounded perfect. I believe this is why they won.
Ikr. I had high hopes from both the groups. But honestly, I was so disappointed. But then again, hylt is not an easy song to perform but so was yes or yes. Yes or yes both the teams did very well!

I saw a couple of bad comments with 🤢🤮 emojis on the HYLT performance that’s uploaded on Mnet channel. + comments telling Mnet to stop letting trainees to cover BLACKPINK song in survival shows (I supposed due to HYLT on GP999 and BOOMBAYAH from PD48). And somehow it gets me. Like it’s so upsetting to see those mean comments. I know that they did mistakes here and there (and some are pretty obvious). And yes, they could have done it better (from the rehearsals, they definitely did have the ability to do better as well). But why… compare it with the original artiste 😩. Like they are being put into different circumstances though. Eg: the amount of exp the trainees had, some were independent trainees (if I’m not wrong), the amount of time they were given to learn the song (+ it’s harder for trainees that are from different countries to memorise the lyrics too), and how they are actually working with members that they aren’t familiar with. So it’s like x amount of days given but they need to learn the Choreo, lyrics, and working in teams. Although it’s alright to feel disappointed by the performance. But people should be kinder with their comments, IMO. [EDIT: it’s not like we should bubble wrap the trainees to the extent that they shouldn’t receive any criticism at all. Like they will eventually face such comments in the future if they debut as well (sad reality, but the truth; no matter how well they have done, it’s almost impossible that everyone will like them; unless they are yoo jaesuk or smth). But, before leaving extremely mean comments… just take into account of the circumstances that the participants are put into] 😕.
I think it's super hard for a huge group of girls to do a cover of a 4 person group... the songs are made in mind for 4 girls vs 12 girls so line distribution is barely the same compared to a larger member group song
I've started seeing the same for the mic drop performance now, the solo cams released by mnet disappointed many ppl and now I'm seeing comments on twt on how the girls didn't execute it well, how it wasn't gud at all

Agree. Also girl crush songs like bp’s songs rely heavily on stage presence and energy which is even harder when you’re under so much pressure. And of course we shouldn’t compare them to blackpink who debuted 5 years ago and had probably been practicing their performance for weeks

@@Zheltyy_ Boombayah by Mixnine and Boombayah by Burn Crush was good, but it was not outstanding. Still feel like covers, pretty good covers. What they lack is that certain angst and grit and swag, which only Hikaru and Ryujin carried well.
I was kinda sad for the girl on the Exo team I forgot her name wearing the pink shirt wanting to grab the highlighted position for herself and then all her opportunities were taken away and she felt bad and cried. I mean I also felt bad but they did try outs and everyone got a fair chance to audition for a spot. I then realized that it actually is a competition.
They actually ended up switching parts. If you watch the fancams Suyeon got part 7 (which Dayeon had), and Dayeon got part 4 in the end. I guess they decided to change it up after they realised maybe some of the most powerful vocals were last in lines
apparently dayeon switched her part with suyeon. but still when i was watching the episode i feel bad for her like, where are their communication skills?
@@starrbitz1229 I don't really feel bad because if you think about it, she said she only chose the people she chose so that they could help her gain popularity and so she could shine the most but when they all didn't do what she wanted she started to regret choosing them. Also they all had to audition for the parts so she was the only one who had a problem with it. Everyone had a fair chance at getting parts and they just gave parts based on how well they fit it so I found it really weird that she would get upset because of not having her way. (No hate to you or her just my opinion I wanted to share)

I’m really shocked by wenzhe and xiayan performance 🤯. Like for wenzhe, we really can’t judge her abilities based on her performance in the first episode. She is so goofy when comes to dance battle and also her lost expression when she is looking for people that she can form a cell with. But she was really serious when it’s time to be serious. LOVE HER! And for xiayan, I pretty sure I watch every performance videos (1st and 2nd ep) that were put up on Mnet RUclips channel (esp those that was edited away). But somehow I didn’t have any impression of XIAYAN apart from how she was rejected by one of the K trainees when she asked if she can form a cell with her. So, I somehow thought that maybe she isn’t that good. BUT … SHE TOTALLY KILLING IT AND OWNING THE SONG. Like she don’t have a lot of parts, but whenever it’s her turn, I just can’t help but to say “wow” LOL. Ps: these girls definitely make me reshuffle my top 9, and the global ranks that were revealed, pretty much make me strategize my votes all over again. LIKE I NEED TO SAVE YOONJIA! And there’s WENZHE at the borderline too! Both didn’t get the benefit votes! HELP!

Honestly didn't saw the mistakes the judges pointed out on Xiaoting part. She looked cool. Yurina, May and Youngeun did the best for me. Both of the Yes or Yes teams did well. I love Doah, but I think the judges decision was fair. Team 1 was the cutest.
Ngl I didn't buy the crying from that girl who selected all of the hyped trainees for The Eve team and then got shocked that she wasn't chosen for the main vocal parts. I mean... What did she expect? It's a competition. They're not your rivals but they are your competitors. She just set herself up to be outshined.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels weird about Yes or Yes. My bet is Seventeen winning next week. I just feel it deep down. For Hylt, they were almost the same. Both made mistakes. I preferred team 2's energy, center was so powerful, but their vocals were weak. Whereas team 1 lacked energy, center was weak, but their vocals were solid. It was basically deciding which mistake was bigger.

As in it’s still going to be based on popularity (for votes) but at the same time preventing the really good ones from leaving. i think i have a habit of rooting for the underrated teams LOL is what I realized after watching the show so I was saddened by the result but do agree that both of the team 1's had less mistakes then the team 2's.

Love these as always! Definitely when you get the chance check out the individual fancams for all the girls (personal highlights being Jiwon, Reina & Bahiyyih) As far as thoughts on the ep: - yes or yes teams were better than both hylt teams. And I felt the same during the hylt stages (stressed lol) - Jiwon from team one was the perfect person to get the killing part. Moana was also a big surprise for me and was a standout. - Ji A literally stole the show for hylt along with Xia Yan. While both performances were good, those two really made each stage fun. (Please vote for their cells they are below the safe zone) - I also thought out of the two hylt centers Ando Rinka stood out to me more. She was enjoyable to watch I’m really looking forward to the other groups but especially EBS match. Again, definitely check out the fancams because they were great.
Is it just me or the japanese trainees are just fading into the background? GP999 just feels like korean ft chinese trainees and japanese trainees are thrown into obscurity. I liked Ririka and Risako from Yes or Yes team 2 but no one was talking about them (except Sunmi who praised Ririka once)
tbh i don't see Shen Xiao Ting as center material. Yeah, she got all the skills but the charisma of being a center wasn't on her. It's not just her team have a powerful presence, she just didn't have it, she quickly fades away. Compare to other C trainees, I was feeling the center material to Wang Yale and Su Rui Qi the most, hell even one of the twins have a better charisma on being center than her 😭
The vocals were what I noticed. It's tough to dance and sing but team 2 had pitchiness I didn't hear with team 1. It's easy to miss somebody not getting a choreo move but whoever's singing is front and centre.
Honestly I found the HYLT performances underwhelming. They were good and there were some members who did do well, but overall I felt like it coulda been better
I've subscribed bc I really enjoy reflecting on the show and I like your takes ~ personally, I felt like Yes or Yes Team 2 was trying extremely hard to the point that it was too much for me, so I was glad that Team 1 won, too. For HYLT, I strongly preferred team 1 as a team bc their performance only had a few issues while team 2 only had two girls that stood out and so many severe mistakes. I was ready to see Mnet make Team 2 win tbh just bc it's mnet and they could have justified it by saying they have higher expectations for a team with so many top9 members. I'm glad they didn't, but the preview makes it seem as thought maybe the eve team could encounter that fate (and Pretty U is looking drop so far). Looking forward to the next episode ~
I actually have been voting for Yoon Jia's cell since the beginning! She caught the attention of a lot of people, I'm sure she'll remain in the competition. For How you like that I preferred team 2. I gotta be happy for team 1 but I was really disappointed when team 2 wasn't picked, even though I understand they made mistakes. I liked their stage presence better and that's kinda weird since they were against 4 girls of the top9. I felt like if they could have chosen a team they could have picked them but I mean, it's too late to change anything! I wish all girls the best in the competition. I was so sad when the emission ended, it felt ultra short and the cliff hangers left me frustrated more than excited.
can y'all tell me your opinions about Yaning? becuz i feel like mnet is doing their thing at being a snake again and is kinda making ppl think that Yaning is that bad and ill-mannered girl... but for me, it was natural since i've also been watching chinese survival shows, and the contestants are really straightforward and fierce with battles and stuff,, but at the end of the day, they're still friends and they know that they do it for competition and not about hate... idk, i just feel like Yaning is being misunderstood a lot p.s. i am also a fan of NUEST, and i was so mad at how they edited Dongho as the bad guy,, so i just have a feeling that it's alsk happening again on Yaning
A lot of people didn’t forgave her for using a slur multiple times, and she was among trainees who posted CCP support, so even without evil-editing Yaning (I mean, except for one preview editing in the show wasn’t that bad, everybody laughed and moved on) was in a tight spot. Skill-wise, she’s definitely up there among the strongest in the show, but I don’t think I want her in the final lineup. It’s just inviting additional hate to the group.

I dont really understand why you daehyun was so upset, I totally understand if she wanted to be leader, however she couldve always asked if leadership could be put down to a vote, and I understand her dissapointment with not getting the part she wanted, however if the group beives someone else would be better at the part and they vote, then that can't be controlled- they set out the only one part audition before they even started distributing parts too so it seemed pretty fair. I remember her saying how she woulve picked different people if she knew she was competing against them, however the entire show is a competition, so I don't understand exactly what shes saying in that, and if she was picking a group, shes upset about not getting the parts she wanted however in a group you already know that the parts have to be split up amoung everyone anyways so... So far I understand voting on cells, since only top 17 cells are going through to the next round. (Aside from those saved by planet pass). But how does individual votes count? Is it added to the cell votes as well or they counted separately? Anyone know?
Everyone votes for individual trainees and then the votes are accumulated as a cell votes. So basically you need all members of cell to have average votes or on/ two members who have extremely high vites in order to save the cell. But I think the voting system will be changed in the future evaluations as the total cells are getting less and less. Cmiiw.
individual votes are different and not accumulated with the cell votes. it's for hailing the next top 9 for the next mission since the high rankers will have the ability to rearrange their cells again.
I thought the samee, I was really excited for it, but then I saw the solo cams and all my excitement disappeared, only 2 girls seem to be trying, the rest don't have that savage energy and r just existing, I don't think it'll be a gud performance

I disagree, to me Doah's voice at the beginning sounded kinda annoying. Also she seemed desperate, she didn't look as sweet as Jiwon. Jiwon felt more real to me.
ig hikaru's cell ranked lower cause only the foreign line are famous in her cell and jiyoon's kinda underrated and korean have 50 percent say on the votes compared to worldwide votes which is a disadvantage to the foreign trainees. there's also many international people who can't download the universe app to vote cause it's not compatible with their devices, including me
imo trainers showing disappointment was the most bothersome. I know they are like LEGEND in performing on a stage and it’s natural for them to watch trainees carefully, so I get that. But Mnet shouldn’t have shown their faces during the performance. Let us just concentrate on it PLEASE
Also this is very random but Kim Chaehyun, looks like a member of DreamNote, like not a specific member. She just looks like she's a part of the group, like a hidden 9th member
Blackpink songs really require a particular swag and vibe that I don't think anyone can just do or replicate....Both teams danced well but the swag and vibe was not there except for the rapper with bangs she somehow got it
Regarding the blackpink performances I feel like the yellow team had much more individual stand-outs that performed really well like for example Jia, however purple team looked more cohesive as a whole, as they both made mistakes purple team winning was kinda expected since it was a team mission however from the moment they started dividing positions between their members I was like 'these aren't the right choices'. I'm happy for purple team but their win made me feel sad for yellow's team individual stand-outs that by themselves were much better than purple team all together. But well that's how these team missions work so there's nothing to do about it. Cai Bing is talented but in the first episodes her getting into top 9 was in my opinion overrated so I wasn't surprised that the judges were disappointed during rehearsals. On the other hand she's from C-group so rapping in English/korean whilst dancing and performing at the same time is not easy so definitely props to her for that cuz she came back strong during performance. And I agree with you blackpink songs are not as easy as some people make it out to be.
Honestly I feel so bad for the girls who aren't getting much screen time and for those who haven't gotten any at all. I imagine them being there trying their hardest to show their talented and funny sides in the hopes of having an audience only for them to get evicted and end up watching the show only to find out that they barely even appeared on screen. I really wish MNET would give other girls their required screen time too.
Actually both "How You Like That" performance weren't as good as expected. I'm going to make a comparison: Team 1 (YuJin) vs Team 2 (SeungEun) - Overall I thought that Team 2 had a better energy, like they really slayed on being charismatic. The most charismatic for me were Rinka (Center), JiA (guuurl please), DaYeon (queen slayed) & SeungEun (well, she knows). For Team 1 I couldn't really feel like their energy at all and overall I felt like it was a kinda boring stage, the only ones that slayed for me were YoungEun & XiaYan (she's so talented and extra, please vote for her). Shen Xiao Ting had a plain expression and CaiBing's rap actually didn't impress me at all. - In terms of vocals, Team 1 was much better than Team 2. The vocals of Team 2 were off tune all the bridge which was so sad because they made the performance go down at the best moment. The vocals of Team 1 were on point (YoungEun was amazing) even though I found May a little bit off key in some parts but well they did great. - In terms of mistakes, both groups had a lot of mistakes but the mistakes of Team 2 were worse (the wrong choreo that was very noticeable + the vocals that were off key). I personally prefered Team 2 because sometimes performing isn't just about being the less wrong, but performing is about expressing the song the best. Even idols make mistakes with the choreo or the vocals but what is great about them is that they perform at the maximum and make you feel all that energy. For me I didn't see that on Team 1 performance, they didn't seem like a team + they had tones of talented girls (4 of Top 9) and didn't seem to take and advantage of that. The mentors should have known that Team 2 girls needed the points while the Team 1 girls are already famous and doesn't need them. If both teams were wrong, why choose the popular trainees to win? I don't know I feel sad for SeungEun's team

At this point, I’m having trust issues every time Mnet drop something. I really thought that mic drop win the triple votes but after the solo fancam, it’s unlikely the case. I haven’t finish watching pretty u fancam. But I watched “the eve” ones. Theirs were good too. Like I don’t think I have anything to nitpick about from their solo fan cams (apart from like the difference in their intensity of facial expressions. But don’t think it’s gonna be that one determining factor that make them lose either). But all the harsh comments seems to be directed the group. Which makes me confused at the same time? Maybe… they are as what the masters said like they can excel individually, but don’t look “cohesive”? As a group.

I was thinking about some members picking popular trainees instead of thinking about the mission and whose skills you would need. Since there isn't any live audience voting like pre-pandemic, popularity doesn't really make sense when the mentors are picking which teams would win, because im seeing how a lot of teams with "Top 9" members are struggling with teamwork since a lot of Aces are placed in one group. I hope this Connect Mission teaches the trainees about communication and teamwork, bc seeing Y. Dayeon made me sad :(
To be fair though for Dayeon (the eve team) they only let her try out for one part and when she didn't get it she was automatically put as either vocal 7 or vocal 8. Also I agreed with the judges that Shen Xiao Ting lacked the energy for the center role and it could also be because her other teammates have a powerful presence. Also Ji A snapped 🙊
Let's all be honest, this is no hate towards Bahiyyih. I do think she's talented but there are many people in the Kgroup that have more potential I think. Like personally I think Kim Da Yeon is better but she's currently ranked as 10th place which seems soo crazy to me. Even Hyerim is placed 21st place which is also mind boggling. Remember people who are place below 17th place will be out so vote wisely.
i really want to see the the eve performance, because mnet showed us teasers of it last week with drama and then again this week and now knowing fu yaning is the leader and that one of them isnt content with the way things have gone and one of the dance master critiquing them on not fixing something, im hyped up
OMG Did you see their fan cams? I think they all did well (judging from only the fancam; I only picked a few to watch)! But I don’t know how it will pan out though in terms of team work and all on the stage. But just from the fan cam alone, and the vocals, dance, etc. They did have a pretty high chance of winning, unlike what’s shown in the teasers. Now I have doubts on who is gonna win the triple votes.

So I went to watch one of the fancams, I not sure if they purposely amplify their vocals & rap and lower down the volume for the background music or what. Like if the BGM were to be any lower, it’s like how the groups were performing during the HYLT and yes or yes mid term reviews (the ones without BGM) which does make it seems slightly weaker than what it supposed to sound like (as in based on the lyrics and all). And somehow I think it will affect the whole group dynamics as well. Like if I’m one of the trainees there and see the things going on between Dayeon and FYN, even as a bystander, I will feel like I am “walking on ‘eggshells’” every time during the whole training period. Ps: I don’t particularly side anyone in that mini conflict even though Dayeon is one of my picks (like her since “wow things”)

I really hope this show murders all the trainees by putting a gfriend song in the challenges for later episodes. Cuz while all the songs in the first challenge were "difficult", I want to see them struggle to find anyone who can sing yuju's part, plus needing to execute difficult choreography. Personally, I want them to be hit by TFTMN or Sunrise, cuz seeing pd48 and seeing teams struggle with love whisper, TFTMN and Sunrise would be the biggest hit or miss performance.

I'm soo damnn nervous for the mic drop performance, gonna be honest after watching the preview for ep 4 I was really excited for them, but then I watched the solo cams of the performance that mnet released earlier and it seems that they did okay, but it really lacked that savage energy and stage presence, so I don't know what to think of now

I agree and disagree. They both made mistakes but one group still did better than the other in terms of singing and dancing. The winning team made only one mistake whereas the other made multiple and was clear that they needed practice
Choreography mistakes can be fixed with more practice but vocal mistakes for a very popular song is almost unforgivable. The bridge was the deciding factor for me as team 2 was flat and it sounded really bad. Team 1 sounded perfect. I believe this is why they won.

I saw a couple of bad comments with 🤢🤮 emojis on the HYLT performance that’s uploaded on Mnet channel. + comments telling Mnet to stop letting trainees to cover BLACKPINK song in survival shows (I supposed due to HYLT on GP999 and BOOMBAYAH from PD48). And somehow it gets me. Like it’s so upsetting to see those mean comments. I know that they did mistakes here and there (and some are pretty obvious). And yes, they could have done it better (from the rehearsals, they definitely did have the ability to do better as well). But why… compare it with the original artiste 😩.
Like they are being put into different circumstances though. Eg: the amount of exp the trainees had, some were independent trainees (if I’m not wrong), the amount of time they were given to learn the song (+ it’s harder for trainees that are from different countries to memorise the lyrics too), and how they are actually working with members that they aren’t familiar with. So it’s like x amount of days given but they need to learn the Choreo, lyrics, and working in teams.
Although it’s alright to feel disappointed by the performance. But people should be kinder with their comments, IMO.
[EDIT: it’s not like we should bubble wrap the trainees to the extent that they shouldn’t receive any criticism at all. Like they will eventually face such comments in the future if they debut as well (sad reality, but the truth; no matter how well they have done, it’s almost impossible that everyone will like them; unless they are yoo jaesuk or smth). But, before leaving extremely mean comments… just take into account of the circumstances that the participants are put into] 😕.
I think it's super hard for a huge group of girls to do a cover of a 4 person group... the songs are made in mind for 4 girls vs 12 girls so line distribution is barely the same compared to a larger member group song

I was kinda sad for the girl on the Exo team I forgot her name wearing the pink shirt wanting to grab the highlighted position for herself and then all her opportunities were taken away and she felt bad and cried. I mean I also felt bad but they did try outs and everyone got a fair chance to audition for a spot.
I then realized that it actually is a competition.
They actually ended up switching parts. If you watch the fancams Suyeon got part 7 (which Dayeon had), and Dayeon got part 4 in the end. I guess they decided to change it up after they realised maybe some of the most powerful vocals were last in lines
apparently dayeon switched her part with suyeon. but still when i was watching the episode i feel bad for her like, where are their communication skills?

Also they all had to audition for the parts so she was the only one who had a problem with it. Everyone had a fair chance at getting parts and they just gave parts based on how well they fit it so I found it really weird that she would get upset because of not having her way. (No hate to you or her just my opinion I wanted to share)

I’m really shocked by wenzhe and xiayan performance 🤯. Like for wenzhe, we really can’t judge her abilities based on her performance in the first episode. She is so goofy when comes to dance battle and also her lost expression when she is looking for people that she can form a cell with. But she was really serious when it’s time to be serious. LOVE HER! And for xiayan, I pretty sure I watch every performance videos (1st and 2nd ep) that were put up on Mnet RUclips channel (esp those that was edited away). But somehow I didn’t have any impression of XIAYAN apart from how she was rejected by one of the K trainees when she asked if she can form a cell with her. So, I somehow thought that maybe she isn’t that good. BUT … SHE TOTALLY KILLING IT AND OWNING THE SONG. Like she don’t have a lot of parts, but whenever it’s her turn, I just can’t help but to say “wow” LOL.
Ps: these girls definitely make me reshuffle my top 9, and the global ranks that were revealed, pretty much make me strategize my votes all over again. LIKE I NEED TO SAVE YOONJIA! And there’s WENZHE at the borderline too! Both didn’t get the benefit votes! HELP!

For Hylt, they were almost the same. Both made mistakes. I preferred team 2's energy, center was so powerful, but their vocals were weak. Whereas team 1 lacked energy, center was weak, but their vocals were solid. It was basically deciding which mistake was bigger.

As far as thoughts on the ep:
- yes or yes teams were better than both hylt teams. And I felt the same during the hylt stages (stressed lol)
- Jiwon from team one was the perfect person to get the killing part. Moana was also a big surprise for me and was a standout.
- Ji A literally stole the show for hylt along with Xia Yan. While both performances were good, those two really made each stage fun. (Please vote for their cells they are below the safe zone)
- I also thought out of the two hylt centers Ando Rinka stood out to me more. She was enjoyable to watch
I’m really looking forward to the other groups but especially EBS match. Again, definitely check out the fancams because they were great.
Is it just me or the japanese trainees are just fading into the background? GP999 just feels like korean ft chinese trainees and japanese trainees are thrown into obscurity. I liked Ririka and Risako from Yes or Yes team 2 but no one was talking about them (except Sunmi who praised Ririka once)

chinese trainees personalities are pretty strong and honestly the most interesting imo
tbh i don't see Shen Xiao Ting as center material. Yeah, she got all the skills but the charisma of being a center wasn't on her. It's not just her team have a powerful presence, she just didn't have it, she quickly fades away. Compare to other C trainees, I was feeling the center material to Wang Yale and Su Rui Qi the most, hell even one of the twins have a better charisma on being center than her 😭
hylt team 1 had much better vocals by far, even with the mistake in the choreo they just sounded better overall
The vocals were what I noticed. It's tough to dance and sing but team 2 had pitchiness I didn't hear with team 1. It's easy to miss somebody not getting a choreo move but whoever's singing is front and centre.

Honestly I found the HYLT performances underwhelming. They were good and there were some members who did do well, but overall I felt like it coulda been better
I've subscribed bc I really enjoy reflecting on the show and I like your takes ~ personally, I felt like Yes or Yes Team 2 was trying extremely hard to the point that it was too much for me, so I was glad that Team 1 won, too.
For HYLT, I strongly preferred team 1 as a team bc their performance only had a few issues while team 2 only had two girls that stood out and so many severe mistakes. I was ready to see Mnet make Team 2 win tbh just bc it's mnet and they could have justified it by saying they have higher expectations for a team with so many top9 members. I'm glad they didn't, but the preview makes it seem as thought maybe the eve team could encounter that fate (and Pretty U is looking drop so far). Looking forward to the next episode ~

I actually have been voting for Yoon Jia's cell since the beginning! She caught the attention of a lot of people, I'm sure she'll remain in the competition. For How you like that I preferred team 2. I liked their stage presence better and that's kinda weird since they were against 4 girls of the top9. A lot of people didn’t forgave her for using a slur multiple times, and she was among trainees who posted CCP support, so even without evil-editing Yaning (I mean, except for one preview editing in the show wasn’t that bad, everybody laughed and moved on) was in a tight spot.
Skill-wise, she’s definitely up there among the strongest in the show, but I don’t think I want her in the final lineup. It’s just inviting additional hate to the group.

I dont really understand why you daehyun was so upset, I totally understand if she wanted to be leader, however she couldve always asked if leadership could be put down to a vote, and I understand her dissapointment with not getting the part she wanted, however if the group beives someone else would be better at the part and they vote, then that can't be controlled- they set out the only one part audition before they even started distributing parts too so it seemed pretty fair. I remember her saying how she woulve picked different people if she knew she was competing against them, however the entire show is a competition, so I don't understand exactly what shes saying in that, and if she was picking a group, shes upset about not getting the parts she wanted however in a group you already know that the parts have to be split up amoung everyone anyways so... No hate to her, but I was just kinda put off with her attitude after she didnt get the stuff she wanted.

So far I understand voting on cells, since only top 17 cells are going through to the next round. (Aside from those saved by planet pass). But how does individual votes count? Is it added to the cell votes as well or they counted separately? Anyone know?
They are counted separately and are there for you to chose your TOP9
Everyone votes for individual trainees and then the votes are accumulated as a cell votes. So basically you need all members of cell to have average votes or on/ two members who have extremely high vites in order to save the cell.
But I think the voting system will be changed in the future evaluations as the total cells are getting less and less.

I believe that individual votes are counted for cell votes. That’s why a lot of people vote for the same individuals that are in their chosen cell
individual votes are different and not accumulated with the cell votes. it's for hailing the next top 9 for the next mission since the high rankers will have the ability to rearrange their cells again.

Even tho her team lost, I still think Doah did better than Jiwon. Overall, I think Team 2 lost because the members had a more matured feel to them.

I disagree, to me Doah's voice at the beginning sounded kinda annoying. Also she seemed desperate, she didn't look as sweet as Jiwon. Jiwon felt more real to me.

ig hikaru's cell ranked lower cause only the foreign line are famous in her cell and jiyoon's kinda underrated and korean have 50 percent say on the votes compared to worldwide votes which is a disadvantage to the foreign trainees. there's also many international people who can't download the universe app to vote cause it's not compatible with their devices, including me
imo trainers showing disappointment was the most bothersome. I know they are like LEGEND in performing on a stage and it’s natural for them to watch trainees carefully, so I get that. But Mnet shouldn’t have shown their faces during the performance. Let us just concentrate on it PLEASE

Blackpink songs really require a particular swag and vibe that I don't think anyone can just do or replicate....Both teams danced well but the swag and vibe was not there except for the rapper with bangs she somehow got it
Regarding the blackpink performances I feel like the yellow team had much more individual stand-outs that performed really well like for example Jia, however purple team looked more cohesive as a whole, as they both made mistakes purple team winning was kinda expected since it was a team mission however from the moment they started dividing positions between their members I was like 'these aren't the right choices'. I'm happy for purple team but their win made me feel sad for yellow's team individual stand-outs that by themselves were much better than purple team all together. But well that's how these team missions work so there's nothing to do about it. Cai Bing is talented but in the first episodes her getting into top 9 was in my opinion overrated so I wasn't surprised that the judges were disappointed during rehearsals. On the other hand she's from C-group so rapping in English/korean whilst dancing and performing at the same time is not easy so definitely props to her for that cuz she came back strong during performance. And I agree with you blackpink songs are not as easy as some people make it out to be.
Honestly I feel so bad for the girls who aren't getting much screen time and for those who haven't gotten any at all. I imagine them being there trying their hardest to show their talented and funny sides in the hopes of having an audience only for them to get evicted and end up watching the show only to find out that they barely even appeared on screen. I really wish MNET would give other girls their required screen time too.
Actually both "How You Like That" performance weren't as good as expected. I'm going to make a comparison:
Team 1 (YuJin) vs Team 2 (SeungEun)
- Overall I thought that Team 2 had a better energy, like they really slayed on being charismatic. The most charismatic for me were Rinka (Center), JiA (guuurl please), DaYeon (queen slayed) & SeungEun (well, she knows). For Team 1 I couldn't really feel like their energy at all and overall I felt like it was a kinda boring stage, the only ones that slayed for me were YoungEun & XiaYan (she's so talented and extra, please vote for her). Shen Xiao Ting had a plain expression and CaiBing's rap actually didn't impress me at all.
- In terms of vocals, Team 1 was much better than Team 2. The vocals of Team 2 were off tune all the bridge which was so sad because they made the performance go down at the best moment. The vocals of Team 1 were on point (YoungEun was amazing) even though I found May a little bit off key in some parts but well they did great.
- In terms of mistakes, both groups had a lot of mistakes but the mistakes of Team 2 were worse (the wrong choreo that was very noticeable + the vocals that were off key).
I personally prefered Team 2 because sometimes performing isn't just about being the less wrong, but performing is about expressing the song the best. Even idols make mistakes with the choreo or the vocals but what is great about them is that they perform at the maximum and make you feel all that energy. For me I didn't see that on Team 1 performance, they didn't seem like a team + they had tones of talented girls (4 of Top 9) and didn't seem to take and advantage of that.
The mentors should have known that Team 2 girls needed the points while the Team 1 girls are already famous and doesn't need them. If both teams were wrong, why choose the popular trainees to win? I don't know I feel sad for SeungEun's team

At this point I think that the pretty u team will win, the eve is out of Q for now, especially after the preview, many including me thought it would be mic drop after the gud response in the preview, but after watching the solo cams, the performances isn't all that grt, pretty u's solo cams look really gud
At this point, I’m having trust issues every time Mnet drop something. I really thought that mic drop win the triple votes but after the solo fancam, it’s unlikely the case. I haven’t finish watching pretty u fancam. But I watched “the eve” ones. Theirs were good too. Like I don’t think I have anything to nitpick about from their solo fan cams (apart from like the difference in their intensity of facial expressions. But don’t think it’s gonna be that one determining factor that make them lose either). But all the harsh comments seems to be directed the group. Which makes me confused at the same time? Maybe… they are as what the masters said like they can excel individually, but don’t look “cohesive”? As a group.

I was thinking about some members picking popular trainees instead of thinking about the mission and whose skills you would need. Since there isn't any live audience voting like pre-pandemic, popularity doesn't really make sense when the mentors are picking which teams would win, because im seeing how a lot of teams with "Top 9" members are struggling with teamwork since a lot of Aces are placed in one group.
I hope this Connect Mission teaches the trainees about communication and teamwork, bc seeing Y. Dayeon made me sad :(

To be fair though for Dayeon (the eve team) they only let her try out for one part and when she didn't get it she was automatically put as either vocal 7 or vocal 8.
Also I agreed with the judges that Shen Xiao Ting lacked the energy for the center role and it could also be because her other teammates have a powerful presence.

Let's all be honest, this is no hate towards Bahiyyih. I do think she's talented but there are many people in the Kgroup that have more potential I think. Like personally I think Kim Da Yeon is better but she's currently ranked as 10th place which seems soo crazy to me. Even Hyerim is placed 21st place which is also mind boggling. Remember people who are place below 17th place will be out so vote wisely.

OMG Did you see their fan cams? I think they all did well (judging from only the fancam; I only picked a few to watch)! But I don’t know how it will pan out though in terms of team work and all on the stage. But just from the fan cam alone, and the vocals, dance, etc. They did have a pretty high chance of winning, unlike what’s shown in the teasers. Now I have doubts on who is gonna win the triple votes.

So I went to watch one of the fancams, I not sure if they purposely amplify their vocals & rap and lower down the volume for the background music or what. Like if the BGM were to be any lower, it’s like how the groups were performing during the HYLT and yes or yes mid term reviews (the ones without BGM) which does make it seems slightly weaker than what it supposed to sound like (as in based on the lyrics and all). But then again, I’m confused at the part whereby the masters were “scolding” (?) the trainees saying that they are dissatisfied about their performance and questioned them if it’s because they praise them too much so they sort of fall back and didn’t keep up with the expectations? [the only avengers team left is the eve, unless it’s supposed to be a comment for the HYLT performance but was cut away; cause they did receive a lot of praises at some points and yujin’s team is the 2nd avengers team]. And also the part whereby the masters were “shocked” at the results. It could just be Mnet doing all the editings to make us confused. But I can’t help thinking about that LOL
@@sacha3296 there’s definitely something going on between Dayeon and FYN. Although I don’t know if Mnet did make it more exaggerated than it seems.
And somehow I think it will affect the whole group dynamics as well. Like if I’m one of the trainees there and see the things going on between Dayeon and FYN, even as a bystander, I will feel like I am “walking on ‘eggshells’” every time during the whole training period.
Ps: I don’t particularly side anyone in that mini conflict even though Dayeon is one of my picks (like her since “wow things”)

I really hope this show murders all the trainees by putting a gfriend song in the challenges for later episodes. Cuz while all the songs in the first challenge were "difficult", I want to see them struggle to find anyone who can sing yuju's part, plus needing to execute difficult choreography. Personally, I want them to be hit by TFTMN or Sunrise, cuz seeing pd48 and seeing teams struggle with love whisper, TFTMN and Sunrise would be the biggest hit or miss performance.
