For the cai bing situation i recommend watching everglow - up's video on it - it's exactly how i feel just more detailed. 11:31 I guess the reason why the vocal teams did not win the 6 membered performance was because; (1) Missing You did not feel as touching/sentimental as the other groups even though they had no mistakes, (2) My Sea could have had a chance in winning if it wasn't for Jiyoon's voice crack, and (3) Fate did not make any mistakes and made the judges cry with their storyline.

For a show that’s supposed to bring different worlds together to achieve the same dream, they’re extremely talented for tearing them apart even more. It’s petty that they’re making drama out of the foreign contestants and making them look like awful people, but it’s pathetic when they’re doing it to they’re own people. Like are you producing a survival show or KUWTK? Have you learnt nothing from the Produce scandal? Have you thought abt the effects your action have on these girls, especially those that are underaged or are going thru stuff? What happened to letting their talent and personalities speak for themselves and be the heart of the show? That’s what made earlier seasons of Produce 101 better to watch. For a network that is so influential worldwide, it’s pathetic how oblivious & tone-deaf they are to the issues that are going on in the media today and chose to be on the problematic side of the spectrum.

Perfect timing because I just finished watching the episode haha. First off I’m so mad that Mnet is evil editing the Chinese trainees. Liang Jiao was sick and she didn’t deserve to be hated on. She even asked for a translator and wasn’t given one which is not right. They just evil edited most of the Chinese trainees which makes me so mad. For the Wang Ya Le situation they tried to create drama with their editing and when really it’s just a language barrier and a bit of miscommunication. Wang Ya Le is one of my picks and she did such an amazing job and they just used her to boost Youngeun. I love Youngeun and she is super talented but it’s not right that they tried to create drama out of nothing. Once they worked more together it got better and they all performed so well! For Cai Bing, I don’t think she is the villain but I don’t think that she is innocent. She was being selfish and she could of lead her team in a better way but the performance came out well in the end so they must of worked out their performances. Also all the girls in Salute are amazing dancers! I love Jia a lot! I thought every single performance was amazing and I was so impressed! Fate is one of my favorite songs and I highly recommend people to check out Vixx N’s cover cause his cover is amazing! But the Fate team pulled off the emotions so well I was really impressed especially Yeseo. Everyone did amazing so it’s hard to vote for who is the best. I was really annoyed with this episode. The Japanese trainees don't often get the spot light and the Chinese trainees are kind of villainized. After the performances MNET mostly showed the Korean trainees being praised. They didn't even mention Xu Ziyin even though her vocals really shined. The average viewer won't look up their names, so they have to be given to them or else they will be forgotten. MNET knows that.
Also about Cai Bing, I think she is feeling pressured because of her rank and because she messed up during their last performance. Language barrier could also have played a part. It doesn't excuse her behaviour and she did act a bit selfishly, but it isn't as bad as MNET made it out to be.

If you really look at it from an unbiased perspective had one part which was the killing part and if she gave it up like the other girls wanted then she’d have nothing. They even discussed it without her and gave away her part and took it to their advantage that she could barely understand Korean. To me it looks more like they treated her unfairly.

And then the edit with the interview when she said that she would do what the majority want (i think it was to do with the killer part) but then when the whole group not just a majority agreed to a certain formation, and she then said that she was the leader she can do what she wants - it just brushes me the wrong way, as if she wants absolute power over the performance and all the credit and air time.

Wang Yale really did feel like some sort of device to make the other girls look better. Without her arrangement & leadership, the performance would've been so much more different. Her intro set the tone for the song, her supporting vocals, & high notes were under-praised too.
An example, which may seem like a simply minor detail, is how the editing never shows how other contestants & judges reacted to Yale's parts. You can see my point when you contrast her parts with Youngeun's & Ayana's. Some may see reactions annoying, some enjoyable, but I do believe they add impact. It is a very tough competition so the girls are obviously pressured. They said what they said, fixed it, and won. People blaming Cai Bing are just unhappy because the survival show wasn't rainbows and sunshine. It's a competition where thirty contestants are going to leave based on their performance that day. Everyone wants authenticity and unscripted things but starts cancelling people once it gets close to reality. Everyone is judging Cai Bing's personality by just a three minute clip from a two hour episode. She did good, everyone did. They all hugged it out, they're all good now. Stop making Cai the "villain" of the show please. I genuinely believe she didn't cry to get sympathy. She just forgot to focus on herself from helping others, got criticism from the planet masters because she forgot to practice herself ( she said it) , got told by her team mates that she should've not been chosen for the killing part. She probably felt like she brought others down and disappointed everyone, they lost faith in Cai so she was obviously upset and that's not manipulative (she even gave up the killing part , apologized, and hugged it out after the performance) . To be honest it was better because she didn't cry in front of the judges. I'd cry too if my part got taken away from me because I disappointed my team

It just doesn't make any sense that in the groups of "6" there was a dancing team when the other 2 were vocals, YES they were amazing in performing such a beautiful dance but is like the judges didn't even consider the other 2 teams. In the groups of "3" it was also a mix. It would've been better to have 3 wining teams from the groups of "3" 1 per each talent even if they had to give a smaller count on benefit votes, this way everyone would've had a bigger chance.

excited to see what teams we get in the next episode and i have a feeling kim bora is gonna get eliminated, if she does then that benefit could've saved her :(. also idk if its true or not but someone on gp twitter said that some eliminated trainees went on a live and said that the 1st stage song was actually selected by a programme which if its true im not surprised. an ex-aespa trainee covering a aespa song? jyp trainee getting i can't stop me? and yujin being there so someone gets a clc song? and i have a feeling they setup fu yaning to say all that stuff, she is just a nice person in ywy and i just feel like they made her the villain, mnet just has no chill. not to mention NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would pick i can't stop me as their 1st stage song. anyways who really knows what happened, who knows we might get another produce situation and everything will be exposed a few years later.

I’m thankful for other survival shows (YWY, Chuang 2020, Nizi Project, etc) because the editing that m-snake is pulling on the girls is insane. It’s getting really boring to watch I legit skipped some parts of the ep at times if I detected msnake editing.
Ice cream vs salute was the most fun matchup and what I love about the dance groups as a trained dancer myself is the direction that they decide to go for their performances. Having the center set the overall tone for the performance is really important (example: salute team with jia or cai bing). I wonder what that 0.33 point difference was caused by. My only thing with Ice Cream is that in the full cam version, the spacing of the girls is ever so slightly off (aka one girl leaves too much space in front of another girl when it’s supposed to be equal). But both performances are iconic.
What’s been my biggest concern is that msnake isn’t really pushing any of the vocalists? Like tf a lot of the great vocalists are given little screentime and many of them are on borderline for elimination.

I’m still low key annoyed that they HAD to have rap songs when it seems like none of the girls are wanting to be rappers. None of them seem to have that strive to be a rapper and it’s unfair that the low cell groups HAD to choose the rap songs because there was nothing else. Mnet really hates Chinese trainees,,, they're trying to promote the Korean trainees it's very obvious (and it makes sense since it's kpop and a Korean survival show ig)
But still if they were going to mistreat and sabotage the c-group this much then why even make up this kind of concept for a survival show ???

I have nothing against the girls, but I feel like the mafia team was somewhat set up to win. They were very good, but I mean just look at their stage design compared to some of the others. I know they had a specific concept, but compare that to the stage of something like VVS, where besides the first part with the tv screen, the stage was just bare. I said it in another comment but I have to say this as well. Salute team won just because they followed the assignment better, which was dancing. I'm not implying that the dance was bad at the ice cream performance, but it has a lot of moments were one member is moving while the other are static. Idk, to me it made kinda sense, because watching ice cream I found myself thinking "well, i wouldn't consider this a dance performance". But I admit that because Dayeon was the only one working on it, it would've been hard to make a choreography as hard as the salute one.

I think that this is another case of girl crush concepts being favoured more than cute concepts like in icecream. Although the icecream choreo was less challenging when it comes to technicalities, it was so much more memorable and just fills you with so much fondness for it everytime you see it. Dayeon did such an amazing job of choreographing as her choreo really felt like an official one while in some parts I think that the salute choreo was being a bit generic and wasn't doing enough to keep up with the music for example the dance break (imo)

I quite agree with your opinion.
In particular, I think the answer to the question of whether Cai Bing is a real villain is no.
But, as you said, it's not that Cai Bing didn't say that.
And what Cai Bing said is actually something that even any broadcaster other than Mnet want target.
Criticizing Mnet with it, as someone said, is just overgeneralizing Mnet's evil's editing.
It's not that Mnet showed something she didn't say, and it's not that it broadcast by fabricating a video that didn't actually exist.
And Cai Bing what she said was actually something she shouldn't have said to her teammates under any circumstances.
Besides, she was the leader of the team
If I were Mnet, I would have done that kind of editing for Cai Bing for two reasons.
    1. Cai Bing's words are the prey that I want to show on TV so much.
    2. If Cai Bing makes her debut as it is, she should have taken into account the negative impact she could have on the overall team work in the future.
If so, shouldn't they let her viewers know about it rather than letting her debut as she is?
They say Mnet is harsh on Chinese contestants, but I don't think it's particularly so.
In the case of Yoo Da-yeon, the same was criticized.
I think it's because the Chinese contestants provide a lot of prey.
And I think it's due to their actions, although they are not malicious, they are not very conscious of others
And it is true that these are obstacles to becoming a star.
I admit that Cai Bing gets more accusations than she deserves.
But that doesn't justify her receiving more support than she deserves in return for the accusation.

My controversial opinion is Dayeon takes Cai Bing's top9 spot next week. While we cant ignore MNET portraying Yaning, Jiao and Yale badly, Cai Bing situation is different. Specifically, the opinions of her teammates were the biggest red flag. Editing cannot hide character flaws-- giving excuses for mistakes, crying to keep her part, an intolerant attitude, taking credit for choreo etc. I did see some comments saying she gave up some of her parts, but that's bare minimum as a leader (compare Myah and Lee Yunji during Pretty U). In retrospect, her stage presence/aura carried her far, but her rapping is kinda mediocre, her dancing looks forced/stiff sometimes and lacks leadership skills.

  • @mdjsrk

I apologise in advance for the essay you're about to read but I just finished watching the episode and I'm absolutely steaming.
This episode really pissed me off. It was so obvious they were setting the Mafia team up to win the benefit when they autotuned the hell out of their performance. The editing was appalling this episode too, repeating the same two second parts like 3 or 4 times for reactions just broke the flow of the episode so badly. Salute team was a whole mess with Cai Bing being incredibly selfish, and that meant we got 0 mention of the Fanatics synergy with Doah and Chiayi (did you see that kick?), and little to no mention that Hyerim was keeping up with all these amazing dancers when she's probably top 3 or 5 for vocals in the whole competition.
Mnet are rigging this show through editing, and they're not being subtle about it at all. The All About You team was just Ye Young this, Ye Young that, Xing Qiao fucked up once so we're gonna edit the one face of the vocal coach in multiple times. They still always wanna edit in as many shots of their pre-picked favourites as they can (Xiao Ting, Rui Qi, Yujin, Yeseo, Hikaru, Yurina etc.) and ignore a lot of the less popular but arguably more talented people. Most of all I just don't understand why they chose to autotune the performances when we're supposed to be judging these performances for how well people did. There's no point in calling them vocal performances if you're pitch correcting their moments of being off-key, and it makes judges' comments seem really random since we're not hearing what they're hearing. I suppose it helps make it less obvious that Mnet just pick the teams with their favs in to win the benefit.

There is proof that Mnet gave her evil editing. It is a 100% understandable why the members where frustrated with her but may I remind you that this is a survival show and everyone here is fighting for their debut. Some eliminated C-Group trainees shared that they had to stay up to 40 hours and would only get very few hours of sleep. So of course everyone is frustrated. Even though Cai Bing wasn't a good leader and might've said some wrong things (there are Chinese netizens that say that she actually said something different from the subs and there are some that say she said exactly what stands in the subs) they purposely didn't show the group resolving their conflicts and giving Luo Fei the solo and Jia a killing part. Honestly it were just 3 minutes and now your judging her whole personality... How would you feel that your whole existence is hated upon for 3 out of 80 minutes.
I also have to say that this situation could've been scripted. The C-Group trainees also opened up about a lot of the stuff being scripted such as the "we go up but you don't" thing. So this one also could've been. And if that's not prove enough just think about Produce 48.

@oh hi you sure ? I mean if they would like her to still have a good reputation they would've put in clips of the group resolving the situation and them deciding that Luo Fei and Jia get their parts. Also have you seen how in the end after they won they all hugged eachother and overall Doah was the first one to run to Cai Bing and hug her ? She also could've hugged Chiayi. That means that clearly the group resolved everything.

@@elenaknis8566 i understand where ur coming from but i think that it showed her mindset and how she would act as a leader. Even tho it was resolved she till said what she said i think the other participants reactions to her then was enough. OFC they wouldn't hold a grudge most of the girls are so nice . If she keeps this attitude shes better of debuting as a a solo

@@elenaknis8566 as a leader what she said was quite inappropriate. My Best friend who is a native Chinese speaker so you cannot tell me any different said that the translations were correct. Of course this bluntness in her words is also a cultural thing but yes she isn’t a bad person, she just couldn’t take the pressure of being a leader
