As a swiss person I am so happy that Manon made it. I never tought that someone would ever represent our small country in a group. She is even from the same hometown as me. I think Manon has a good social ability, she could be a good leader, she also has a unique vocal tone. I think her dancing i more soft and elegant rather that powerful so she could improve in this section. I think she has also very unique visuals and she might be the center of the group. I really hope she, Yoonchae, Megan, Lara, Daniela and Sophia receive the love they deserve :)

I think the judges worked with them for so long, they may know who has potential, and judges’ vote is 50%! I honestly think they wanted Nayoung over Yoonchae. But her doubts about being in a group vs solo ultimately was too much of a risk to take in their eyes when forming a group. It sucks for Nayoung because she ultimately decided that she did want to debut in a group, but it was too little too late. That said, I'm satisfied with the final lineup. I think it's well rounded in terms of skillset. The singers can dance, the dancers can sing, their voice types mesh well, and they have stan attractors. If the music is good and the group is marketed decently, then this group is guaranteed to do well.
Ezrela was also my top 1 . But looking at the final group, I kind of see what was the vision behind picking Megan. Feels like they chose the most fierce/ mature girls
Don't blame Hybe for letting Nayoung go. Her elimination was of her own doing when in the last mission she told one of the judges that she was not sure she could stay with a group for a long time because her real dream is to become a soloist, something like that. Then she further said instead of taking a spot she would rather give it away to someone who desperately needs it more than her. That's how Yoonchae got the chance to debut.

Ezrela and Marquise never stood a chance going into the finale b/c they were competing against Lara and Sophia respectively. The people that were locked going in: Sophia, Lara, Yoonchae, Daniela The only questions were who they were going to choose between Manon/Samara & Megan/Emily. Manon got chosen for obvious reasons and Megan probably got chosen because her vocals are better and she fits the aesthetic of the others more.
I thought Ezrela had a chance if they went the cute concept. Marquise never had a chance because Sophia was locked from the beginning and she fits both cute and fierce concepts.
@@areanaangel8964 I felt it was highly unlikely they'd replace Lara w Ezrela considering she was second in votes and basically an ace, so they couldn't really dock her points enough and justify it. When they announced the point system it confirmed for me they were fine with the top 2 being in the group.
I fully disagreed with you about Yoonchae. She is a talented girl with her stable vocal and good dancing skill coupled with her visual. Its total package. Some people might not seen it but the fans and judges seen it and votes for her.
Katseye’s lineup is probably one the better or best lineup in Kpop survival shows. Even though the lineup is not 100% what I wanted (Marquise and Nayoung did not make it 😢) it is still satisfying. In survival shows there will always be 1 or more members that you don’t really care for or want in the lineup. The group seem to be more cohesive and the members blend well with each other compare to other shows. Hope that Hybe or another company debuts Emily, Mei, Marquise and Erzela together. I can see them having a cute, bright and fun concept little bit like new jeans and stayc. I think this lineup was PERFECT and it made sense from every direction. Thing is, this is a girl group, not a kpop group, and they will be targeted towards the western markets. So they dont need a "cute member" or something like that, especially if they will go with a more fierce type of concept - which i think will be the case for Katseye. They chose all girls with similar auras and heights, and i think that was for a reason. And I think in general, the western markets don't even like that there's someone in the group who is "different" i.e. cuter than the others. Imho ezrela 1. competed with Lara because of their ethnicity and there was really no comparison bewteen the two of them, and 2. had too much of a baby face (not to mention she's shorter) for the concept they'll go with. I personally couldn't have asked for more from this lineup, although I'm sad for the girls that didn't make it!
9:42 , Hybe has issued the total votes and scores for the contestants and she was 3rd in the votes, ig as Nayoung left Koreans voted for Yoonchae. Even if jugdes didnt score her(if their score didnt matter) , she would have made it , but Yoonchae is still well rounded and did rank 2nd kr 3rd in 2nd Mission. But I do feel bad for Ezrela, my girl was right there, she could have had made it if it was a 7 member group 😭

We have to remember that this group is not Kpop. They will use the Kpop formula for promotions maybe appearing on music shows and award shows but this group is geared to be a global group like fith harmony (not to xg also not being kpop yet using the kpop formula for promotion). I’m saying this because people keep saying they needed a cute member or a dancer ext… but western groups don’t focus on that and focus more on image which I think has been nailed as they are all similar heights and look fierce (best line-up for sure). Also we need to differentiate between ethnicity and nationality. They are American only because they were born there yet they grew up very much in-tune with their culture so that makes it global for me. Hybe ate with this one and I am excited to see what’s next.

The original lineup was supposed to be: 1. Nayoung. 2. Sophia. 3. Lara. 4. Daniela 5. Samara 6. Manon 7. Marquise or Megan. The original number of girls was 7 but since nayoung got eliminated it went down to 6. Samara was supposed to be in the lineup instead of Megan but since she was in a scandal they instead put Megan in the lineup, yoonchae is obviously a replacement for nayoung. Manon was obviously gonna be in the group no matter what, everyone in the western market knows that in order to succeed in the western markets you gotta have at least one black girl/guy because.. well black people are the blueprint to hip hop, and you can see this with destiny child’s, tlc, fifth harmony, little mix, spice girls ect. But with Samara she is Afro Latina which makes her a easy pick to put in the lineup since she will represent Afro latinas, Afro latinas barely get recognition they fall out of the categories of Latina or black.
Out of my top six picks which are: Ezrela, Lara, Sophia, Yoonchae, Marquise, and Manon only four of them made it but I am proud of all of them who made this far.
lol but it is. And MOST people do join a group with intentions of going solo 5-6 years into their career with the group. Don’t shame someone’s aspiration. Contracts are in place to prevent quicker departures but look at ANY group and tell me the soloists from said group didn’t use their group as a stepping stone or tool to their solo careers.
I honestly feel like HYBE could’ve made two girl groups out of this lineup; one for their fierce concept and another for a more cutesy concept. Like I strongly believe Marquise, Emily and Ezrela could make a great trio.

Girl did you not know the main demographic for this group is the west? GEFFEN is an American label. This music WILL be made more directly to appeal to Americans but drop hints and flavors of kpop elements with sounds visual and dance.
Ezrela was also my top pick as well but like you I was relieved Samara didn’t debut. But also I understand it can be a bit questionable about being “Americans” that made it. If anything Ezrela could of made it if they made the group 7 (I just hope she debuts in a future group)
The thing is we could never be sure with hybe, cause they know what the public wants so they either listen to us (like in dream academy) or ignore us completely (runext) but I’m glad we got the lineup most people are happy with. I couldnt make myself to get up early and watch the finale (it was at 4am here so💀) but when I woke up i was shocked that Manon made it cause we know how hybe edited her being ill and not making it to the rehearsals. Also emily situation reminded me of himena, judges loved them and they’re both super talented, but they didn’t have enough fan voted so judges couldn’t really put them in. Also I LOVE the name, especially with the pose they made, it looks super cute. Can’t wait to see what kind of music they’ll put out
They're targeted at the U.S. cuz that's where you go to make money. Because of this, Emily and Ezrela were never gonna cut it vocally. The U.S. market isn't SK or Japan where you can be like Momo/Sakura and be an incompetent singer, no. You need to be able to sing in the U.S. ESPECIALLY if you want that sweet sweet gen. pop. money. Emily is so fine as well as Ezrela but I'm pretty sure Emily can be a TikTok mastermind and Ezrela screams vlogger. Also I swear I read that Nagyoung basically pulled out during the round 3 voting because she wanted to go solo, so there wasn't a scenario where it isn't Yoonchae debuting. I also called the Samara/Manon thing, everybody and their momma knew that they were picking ONE of the black chicks. There was never gonna be a time where they picked two for a Korean made global girl group. Samara signed her end when she did what she did and HYBE knew to avoid any sort of pre debut controversy. I feel like part of that is the reason why Ezrela also didn't debut, like they weren't picking two desi chicks and with the rest of the lineup the way that it is, they were definitely going to aim at the more fierce, confident, sexy group. Ezrela is a cutey little patootey but her and Lara just fill the same shoes but in different ways. I really like the lineup overall and have basically no complaints even though I big time enjoyed Emily, I think the lineup makes a lot of sense. I am also about 85% confident that if a different company/HYBE stashes Marquise for another kpop group, it'd work really well. Her screen tests are great, she's Asian, there's a MASSIVE Thai following in kpop. Just gotta get her on that Duolingo grind and she's golden.

Juries in competitions like these are always controversial and it depends on how much they’re controlled by the producers. Sometimes they actually choose based on talent, which helps cause people voting from home may just vote for their faves without looking at talent, but sometimes they choose just based on the project for the group. I guess Megan was kinda both reasons, cause she is very talented but she also fits the concept so well
Nayoung having a second thought about debuting in a group because she want to be a soloist in the future. And she's saying if she get debut in the group and seeing herself leaving the group in the next few years to have a solo career. And she feel like some girl deserved it more than her that they are more willing to be in a group and not thinking to be a soloist because that can destroy a group sometimes when someone is not fully committed and work hard to be in one group.

Why are people saying Megan took Ezrela's spot when the judges gave Megan a high score? Actually Samara was higher in total score than Ezrela. If Megan got a low score from the judges, the next in line to debut would've been Samara, not Ezrela.
Ezrela is a really sweet girl but she gives off fan vibes like one of those people in dance cover teams, compared to the other girls that they have unique star quality. I think ethnic representation is more important than nationality representation so adding Ezrela with Lara already in the team is a disservice to the global aspect of the show. And for me Lara>Ezrela any day. I think the current lineup is the best lineup. They all look great together height-wise and look cohesive together but still every one has their own look and feel and individualism and has really great representation visually.
If I remember correctly Samara herself was not the one who liked the TikTok videos but her parents on her account.I was very sad that I was used (they used Samara and Celeste to promote themselves) Some people used this scandal to call her a racist and you know... It hurts to know that she didn't get in because of something that was her parents' fault. Obviously I will listen to the group's songs but I don't know if I will become part of the fandom because I consider fans of Sophia and Manon to be toxic... That's it.

It's a very normal age to debut in the music industry even and especially in the US. It's not like the only thing this group can do is sing about sex or whatever. Also for those saying they prioritized height compatibility and visuals…uhhh yes! Wake up! They are marketing a polished product in the form of a diverse girl group. So if you are going to form a lineup out of 10 finalists who can all sing and dance at an adequate level, your priority needs to be what will catch the most attention at first glance while matching your concept. I see the point of view about half the girls being from the USA but i think at the end they proitized talent & visuals over national representation . The chose the girls with the best balance in singing and dancing along with performance quality (and no scandals bc Samara was definitely a shooing before her controversy)

I subscribed to your channel since you made videos about gp999. I'm Brazilian, but my pick was Emily. Anyway, it's not cool to mock us, Brazilian people. I know a lot of people attacked you for your opinions on Samara, but don't generalize. Mocking a girl for not being able to debut and acting like all her fans deserve some kind of mockery is very immature. We don't really know what happened, but if she's wrong she needs to apologize and change. We just can't forget that she worked hard, she has dreams and she has a family like any other girl. The difference between Ezrela and Megan is, well Megan does have talent, definitely. But Ezrela really has stage presence, like she catches your eye even when she's not in the center. And I think HYBE also didn't choose her because she doesn't "fit" in the group concept. It really seemed like this time they tried to balance the fan choice and the judges choose and sadly because of that Ezrela got out.
The other people that stood a chance debuting were Nayoung, Ezrela, Marquise and Samara. Marquise was talented and she served. She also gave ‘reliable leader’ vibe. She was versatile when it came to concepts and she could sing. Can dance too. Same with Ezrela. BUT. They were too stagnant. Nayoung was a great singer. Could improve on dance and she did. It showed during the 3rd mission. BUT she ruined it for herself by saying that she was contemplating on whether she really wanted to go solo and don’t even realize that she really wanted to be in the group til after it was decided she wouldn’t go on because of what she said. Samara was a great singer and a good dancer. Showed improvements on dancing and she was a good performer BUT she ruined it for herself by getting in that controversy.
The final lineup was exactly what I hoped. I was just shocked that I got what I wanted. There's always a really talented contestant or two that go overlooked and never get picked in shows like these. I'm glad that the voters and judges had equal say in the final lineup, it really helped. And although Yoonchae wouldn't have been my sixth pick, I'm not shocked that she got it, but I'm also not really mad at it. Nayoung really would have slayed in this group. It's a shame, but I heard it was her decision.

Their at least had to be one Korean member in the group and it would’ve been Nayoung but that backfired. So there was Yoonchae which was okay because she showed great improvement on her vocals and she was good at dance cause she trained in Korea. She was versatile and she knew how being a Kpop idol worked already. Sophia, Daniella, and Lara were already set as well for obvious reasons. Manon was chosen because well it would have been Samara but that backfired too. Manon was good at singing though. Could improve on dance and she showed improvement in both the 3rd mission and last stage. She had potential. Megan was chosen because she was a great performer, a great dancer and a good singer.
i like nayoung more, more than yoonchae but i also believe hype did the right thing, nayoung wanted to be a soloist, she also told of the judge that she will leave after a yr or two coz her main goal is to be soloist. it will be risky for hype to choose nayoung who dont really wanted to be a the group
OMG Probably the most honest youtuber out of all the DA 😂😂 Hybe used Brazilians to engage the reality show and that's all in the end they chose a lineup to promote in the US and Europe. It was really funny the way that you talked about it 😅 When i wrote that in another YT channel plp started call me a bully and hater (plp really need psychological treatment). Hybe clearly didn't debut Samara because the company didn't want her to, she was always at the top, she even had the most votes in the final (erarly votes - 38.351 - *6th* , live voting - 7.095 -*5th* ). In the end 4 of my fav girls joined the final lineup and two others I didn't wish had debuted but it already happened. No hate, life goes on.

watching all of dream academy and keeping up with the lore, i can tell that they DEFINITELY would've picked nayoung over yoonchae. i am not sure if they would have put JUST one korean or maybe even have two koreans in the lineup, but if it had to come to one korean, it would've been nayoung easily. i could so obviously tell she was LOVEDDD and she had the talent backed up with it, so she was easily a favorite. i am and still upset that they kind of used that whole "going solo" thing against her even though they tell the contestants that "none of this will be used against you" or "this is a safe space" if this LITERALLY ELIMINATED HER, but idk... i guess i can understand WHY they let her go but idk me personally i would have NEVERE let go of nayoung like she had the popularity she had the driving force she could've easily gotten in and learn how to work with the rest of the team UGH anyways im happy abt this grp sm
As a Brazilian, I was quite sad not to see Samara entering, she was going to represent Brazil, in a group that was supposed to be "global", I don't think it's right what she did, but I don't think she's a monster, because she's already going many more offensive comments against the girl and against Brazil. Many thought what she did was wrong, and these are the same people who mock Latin culture and other people's cultures, but anyway, I think she's incredible, like everyone else who participated in the program, I'm rooting for the success that the girls will have. And I hope that the girls who didn't get in can have successful careers and that people stop criticizing them for a past mistake, because that hurts and kills people. To be quite honest, I don't think she would debut, she was bothering a lot of people, the girl was standing out a lot, she was the only one who recorded a video with the txt member and after that people went looking for things to harm her and unfortunately they succeeded. She is very talented, looking back now, it was better if she hadn't entered, she would have suffered a lot of hate, especially from Americans who don't like her.

LARA was my #1 throughout this whole hybe/geffen process. Samara, Nayoung, Sophia, Manon, and Daniella were my personal picks but the final lineup was actually surprising and I’m excited to see them as KATSEYE!

As a swiss person I am so happy that Manon made it. I never tought that someone would ever represent our small country in a group. She is even from the same hometown as me. I think Manon has a good social ability, she could be a good leader, she also has a unique vocal tone. I think her dancing i more soft and elegant rather that powerful so she could improve in this section. I think she has also very unique visuals and she might be the center of the group. I really hope she, Yoonchae, Megan, Lara, Daniela and Sophia receive the love they deserve :)

I honestly think they wanted Nayoung over Yoonchae. But her doubts about being in a group vs solo ultimately was too much of a risk to take in their eyes when forming a group. It sucks for Nayoung because she ultimately decided that she did want to debut in a group, but it was too little too late.
That said, I'm satisfied with the final lineup. I think it's well rounded in terms of skillset. The singers can dance, the dancers can sing, their voice types mesh well, and they have stan attractors. If the music is good and the group is marketed decently, then this group is guaranteed to do well.

Don't blame Hybe for letting Nayoung go. Her elimination was of her own doing when in the last mission she told one of the judges that she was not sure she could stay with a group for a long time because her real dream is to become a soloist, something like that. Then she further said instead of taking a spot she would rather give it away to someone who desperately needs it more than her. That's how Yoonchae got the chance to debut.

Ezrela and Marquise never stood a chance going into the finale b/c they were competing against Lara and Sophia respectively. The people that were locked going in: Sophia, Lara, Yoonchae, Daniela
The only questions were who they were going to choose between Manon/Samara & Megan/Emily.
Manon got chosen for obvious reasons and Megan probably got chosen because her vocals are better and she fits the aesthetic of the others more.
I thought Ezrela had a chance if they went the cute concept. Marquise never had a chance because Sophia was locked from the beginning and she fits both cute and fierce concepts.

Katseye’s lineup is probably one the better or best lineup in Kpop survival shows. Even though the lineup is not 100% what I wanted (Marquise and Nayoung did not make it 😢)
it is still satisfying.
In survival shows there will always be 1 or more members that you don’t really care for or want in the lineup. The group seem to be more cohesive and the members blend well with each other compare to other shows.
Hope that Hybe or another company debuts Emily, Mei, Marquise and Erzela together. I can see them having a cute, bright and fun concept little bit like new jeans and stayc.

I think this lineup was PERFECT and it made sense from every direction.
Thing is, this is a girl group, not a kpop group, and they will be targeted towards the western markets. So they dont need a "cute member" or something like that, especially if they will go with a more fierce type of concept - which i think will be the case for Katseye. They chose all girls with similar auras and heights, and i think that was for a reason. And I think in general, the western markets don't even like that there's someone in the group who is "different" i.e. cuter than the others. Imho ezrela 1. competed with Lara because of their ethnicity and there was really no comparison bewteen the two of them, and 2. had too much of a baby face (not to mention she's shorter) for the concept they'll go with.
I personally couldn't have asked for more from this lineup, although I'm sad for the girls that didn't make it!

We have to remember that this group is not Kpop. They will use the Kpop formula for promotions maybe appearing on music shows and award shows but this group is geared to be a global group like fith harmony (not to xg also not being kpop yet using the kpop formula for promotion). I’m saying this because people keep saying they needed a cute member or a dancer ext… but western groups don’t focus on that and focus more on image which I think has been nailed as they are all similar heights and look fierce (best line-up for sure). Also we need to differentiate between ethnicity and nationality. They are American only because they were born there yet they grew up very much in-tune with their culture so that makes it global for me. Hybe ate with this one and I am excited to see what’s next.

The original lineup was supposed to be:
1. Nayoung.
2. Sophia.
3. Lara.
4. Daniela
5. Samara
6. Manon
7. Marquise or Megan.
The original number of girls was 7 but since nayoung got eliminated it went down to 6. Samara was supposed to be in the lineup instead of Megan but since she was in a scandal they instead put Megan in the lineup, yoonchae is obviously a replacement for nayoung.
Manon was obviously gonna be in the group no matter what, everyone in the western market knows that in order to succeed in the western markets you gotta have at least one black girl/guy because.. well black people are the blueprint to hip hop, and you can see this with destiny child’s, tlc, fifth harmony, little mix, spice girls ect.
But with Samara she is Afro Latina which makes her a easy pick to put in the lineup since she will represent Afro latinas, Afro latinas barely get recognition they fall out of the categories of Latina or black.

A group don't need someone who sees the group as a stepping stool for a solo career. Like sooooo many other idols do.
lol but it is. And MOST people do join a group with intentions of going solo 5-6 years into their career with the group. Don’t shame someone’s aspiration. Contracts are in place to prevent quicker departures but look at ANY group and tell me the soloists from said group didn’t use their group as a stepping stone or tool to their solo careers.

The thing is we could never be sure with hybe, cause they know what the public wants so they either listen to us (like in dream academy) or ignore us completely (runext) but I’m glad we got the lineup most people are happy with. I couldnt make myself to get up early and watch the finale (it was at 4am here so💀) but when I woke up i was shocked that Manon made it cause we know how hybe edited her being ill and not making it to the rehearsals. Also emily situation reminded me of himena, judges loved them and they’re both super talented, but they didn’t have enough fan voted so judges couldn’t really put them in. Also I LOVE the name, especially with the pose they made, it looks super cute. Can’t wait to see what kind of music they’ll put out

I also called the Samara/Manon thing, everybody and their momma knew that they were picking ONE of the black chicks. There was never gonna be a time where they picked two for a Korean made global girl group. Samara signed her end when she did what she did and HYBE knew to avoid any sort of pre debut controversy.
I feel like part of that is the reason why Ezrela also didn't debut, like they weren't picking two desi chicks and with the rest of the lineup the way that it is, they were definitely going to aim at the more fierce, confident, sexy group. Ezrela is a cutey little patootey but her and Lara just fill the same shoes but in different ways.
I really like the lineup overall and have basically no complaints even though I big time enjoyed Emily, I think the lineup makes a lot of sense.
I am also about 85% confident that if a different company/HYBE stashes Marquise for another kpop group, it'd work really well. Her screen tests are great, she's Asian, there's a MASSIVE Thai following in kpop. Just gotta get her on that Duolingo grind and she's golden.

Juries in competitions like these are always controversial and it depends on how much they’re controlled by the producers. Sometimes they actually choose based on talent, which helps cause people voting from home may just vote for their faves without looking at talent, but sometimes they choose just based on the project for the group. I guess Megan was kinda both reasons, cause she is very talented but she also fits the concept so well
Nayoung having a second thought about debuting in a group because she want to be a soloist in the future. And she's saying if she get debut in the group and seeing herself leaving the group in the next few years to have a solo career. Ezrela is a really sweet girl but she gives off fan vibes like one of those people in dance cover teams, compared to the other girls that they have unique star quality. I think ethnic representation is more important than nationality representation so adding Ezrela with Lara already in the team is a disservice to the global aspect of the show. And for me Lara>Ezrela any day. I think the current lineup is the best lineup. They all look great together height-wise and look cohesive together but still every one has their own look and feel and individualism and has really great representation visually.
If I remember correctly Samara herself was not the one who liked the TikTok videos but her parents on her account.I was very sad that I was used (they used Samara and Celeste to promote themselves) Some people used this scandal to call her a racist and you know... It hurts to know that she didn't get in because of something that was her parents' fault. I see the point of view about half the girls being from the USA but i think at the end they proitized talent & visuals over national representation . The chose the girls with the best balance in singing and dancing along with performance quality (and no scandals bc Samara was definitely a shooing before her controversy)

The difference between Ezrela and Megan is, well Megan does have talent, definitely. But Ezrela really has stage presence, like she catches your eye even when she's not in the center. And I think HYBE also didn't choose her because she doesn't "fit" in the group concept. It really seemed like this time they tried to balance the fan choice and the judges choose and sadly because of that Ezrela got out.
The other people that stood a chance debuting were Nayoung, Ezrela, Marquise and Samara. Marquise was talented and she served. She also gave ‘reliable leader’ vibe. She was versatile when it came to concepts and she could sing. Can dance too. Same with Ezrela. BUT. They were too stagnant. Nayoung was a great singer. Could improve on dance and she did. It showed during the 3rd mission. BUT she ruined it for herself by saying that she was contemplating on whether she really wanted to go solo and don’t even realize that she really wanted to be in the group til after it was decided she wouldn’t go on because of what she said. Samara was a great singer and a good dancer. Showed improvements on dancing and she was a good performer BUT she ruined it for herself by getting in that controversy.
The final lineup was exactly what I hoped. I was just shocked that I got what I wanted. There's always a really talented contestant or two that go overlooked and never get picked in shows like these. I'm glad that the voters and judges had equal say in the final lineup, it really helped. And although Yoonchae wouldn't have been my sixth pick, I'm not shocked that she got it, but I'm also not really mad at it. Nayoung really would have slayed in this group. It's a shame, but I heard it was her decision.

Their at least had to be one Korean member in the group and it would’ve been Nayoung but that backfired. So there was Yoonchae which was okay because she showed great improvement on her vocals and she was good at dance cause she trained in Korea. She was versatile and she knew how being a Kpop idol worked already. Sophia, Daniella, and Lara were already set as well for obvious reasons. Manon was chosen because well it would have been Samara but that backfired too. Manon was good at singing though. Could improve on dance and she showed improvement in both the 3rd mission and last stage. She had potential. Megan was chosen because she was a great performer, a great dancer and a good singer.
They let Nayoung go for a reason. If you watch the third round evaluation video you'll know why

i like nayoung more, more than yoonchae but i also believe hype did the right thing, nayoung wanted to be a soloist, she also told of the judge that she will leave after a yr or two coz her main goal is to be soloist. it will be risky for hype to choose nayoung who dont really wanted to be a the group

Hybe used Brazilians to engage the reality show and that's all in the end they chose a lineup to promote in the US and Europe. It was really funny the way that you talked about it 😅 When i wrote that in another YT channel plp started call me a bully and hater (plp really need psychological treatment). Hybe clearly didn't debut Samara because the company didn't want her to, she was always at the top, she even had the most votes in the final (erarly votes - 38.351 - *6th* , live voting - 7.095 -*5th* ). In the end 4 of my fav girls joined the final lineup and two others I didn't wish had debuted but it already happened. No hate, life goes on.
I wish we got Nayoung over Yoonchae bc of age but she said she was thinking about not continuing bc she didn’t know if she could see herself as a long term member of a group and she might want to focus on making it as a soloist
watching all of dream academy and keeping up with the lore, i can tell that they DEFINITELY would've picked nayoung over yoonchae. i am not sure if they would have put JUST one korean or maybe even have two koreans in the lineup, but if it had to come to one korean, it would've been nayoung easily. i could so obviously tell she was LOVEDDD and she had the talent backed up with it, so she was easily a favorite. i am and still upset that they kind of used that whole "going solo" thing against her even though they tell the contestants that "none of this will be used against you" or "this is a safe space" if this LITERALLY ELIMINATED HER, but idk... i guess i can understand WHY they let her go but idk me personally i would have NEVERE let go of nayoung like she had the popularity she had the driving force she could've easily gotten in and learn how to work with the rest of the team UGH anyways im happy abt this grp sm

As a Brazilian, I was quite sad not to see Samara entering, she was going to represent Brazil, in a group that was supposed to be "global", I don't think it's right what she did, but I don't think she's a monster, because she's already going many more offensive comments against the girl and against Brazil. Many thought what she did was wrong, and these are the same people who mock Latin culture and other people's cultures, but anyway, I think she's incredible, like everyone else who participated in the program, I'm rooting for the success that the girls will have. And I hope that the girls who didn't get in can have successful careers and that people stop criticizing them for a past mistake, because that hurts and kills people. I wish all the success in the world to the group and the other participants.

To be quite honest, I don't think she would debut, she was bothering a lot of people, the girl was standing out a lot, she was the only one who recorded a video with the txt member and after that people went looking for things to harm her and unfortunately they succeeded. She is very talented, looking back now, it was better if she hadn't entered, she would have suffered a lot of hate, especially from Americans who don't like her.

I like the vocal tones of the chosen members. If some others with higher tones had made it, I might not be into their sound as much. They are also talented but that's just my preference.
HYBE doesn't like controversy of any sort even if the person is proven to be not guilty just look at trainee A which had superstars but because of some bad news they got disbanded

Also with HYBE being a kpop label it seems inevitable that Yoonchae was going to make the group since they needed someone who speaks korean. Don’t get me wrong she‘s crazy talented and deserves to debut but I just feel like the other girls were more unique and outperformed her more often…

LARA was my #1 throughout this whole hybe/geffen process. Samara, Nayoung, Sophia, Manon, and Daniella were my personal picks but the final lineup was actually surprising and I’m excited to see them as KATSEYE!

I doubt the votes actually mattered 💀Hybe was being strategic with who they wanted. Samara wasn't going to debut because of the controversy, Emily was white so they kicked her out for not being diverse and Nayoung was doubtful about being a soloist or being in a group so she got kicked.
