The only issue I have with I land 2 is that there's only one "international" contestant (LingLing). While all other 23 contestants are divided between Korea and Japan.

Reminds me of TripleS…even though I’m sure the girls are sweet and deserving, the disappointment is real…they’re complete with 24 members now (after 2 years) and almost none of them are outside Korea/japan (1 Chinese, 1 Taiwanese-Viet, and 1 Thai)
I’m horrified that they don’t even get their own uniquely produced signal song - it’s just ‘the final countdown’ like, that is so minimum effort.

Personally I'm still not sure whether I will watch the show or not, the contestants are way too young and the only one I know is Jeemin too... I also don't get the same hype as before I-Land, Girls Planet, Boys Planet and Produce 101 Japan
About the sign song "Final Love Song", the song is a huge sample of "Final Countdown" and there's literally no creation (apart from the verses?), Teddy should seriously find inspiration instead of sampling and using the same formula/structure of song... need the Rosé version on Spotify also
i find it funny they made a video on the importance of composing the theme song only for it sample the final countdown completely...

I'm not really looking forward to it as much as other survival shows. It feels like MNET panicked when HYBE dropped their part in the show, and they found YG last minute. Everyone's probably going to focus on the YG celebrities like Rose and Somi while ignoring the actual contestants.

Other known contestants are Hayashi Fuko and Tabata Nana who were on Girls Planet 999 and Produce Japan S3 respectively. But both of them were eliminated at the first elimination so they don't have big established fanbases following them into the show.
Based on the dance videos and the theme song my favourite is Yoon Jiyoon. Other girls I'm rooting for are Bang Jeemin (I didn't watch I-Land but she really impressed me here), Mai, Fuko, Koko & Son Juwon. I really hope the debut group will be all 16+. With how exploitative the industry is I'd rather no minors debut at all, but that's never gonna happen... 16 is the lowest I'll tolerate.

One of the contestants (Fuko) was also on girls planet! I didn't recognise her at first cause she looks a lot more mature now, and she's actually the oldest on the show, but definetly look her up! In girls planet she was on Fiesta team and I remember being sad she was eliminated with the cell system when they still did that. Glad to have her back and hopefully she makes it this time!

@@starxmonYeah she turns 19 in May but i just think its weird cause they literally could’ve waited to drop the comeback when shes legal (not that turning the legal age immediately makes you mature). KIOF’s company has just been rubbing me the wrong way since “Nobody Knows” last year cause i think they’re capitalizing off the fact that a lot of people think that Haneul is an adult. I feel like their company is getting away with pushing the limit to what’s acceptable for underaged idols by the concepts and themes they have Haneul participate in.

i feel like Teddy, Black Label, Wakeone and Mnet just want to use Hybe Label's name for sure. because we all know that Iland 1 formed Enhypen which is from Belift (Hybe Label basically) so it has mainly Hybe Label stans. i mean, they could just changed the name into something else, something that has nothing to do with 'iland' name. iland is so special for many people, it's unique and emotional, they wouldn't understand it for sure.
and bruhh, i'm so disappointed that they only have koreans and japanese, the only international trainee is lingling. like, where is the diversity? like the other idol survival shows? i'm pretty sure they opened the auditions to all nationalities before and i see so many girls from different countries posted their videos here in youtube. but i guess it's because Hybe Label loses all the rights so that's why. bruh, yg and black label always play safe by not taking any international trainees but claimed it as 'global girlgroup' LMFAO- also, debuted under wakeone and music produced by teddy and black label? ssjjsjs worst combination ever. the judges are already good but the show itself seems...idk, we will see when it airs later.
but i'm not sure if i will watch it because i promise myself not to get involve in any idol survival show anymore after Iland, Boys Planet and R U Next? since i get emotionally attached to the trainees and show itself. i didn't even watched any Produce shows before because of that reasons lolz- personally, i feel like those 3 idol survival shows that are so memorable and emotional fr like I CRIED EVERYTIME 😭💔

I won't watch this show, not interested, if there's some tea I'll watch your vids instead. Iland 2 should find another name too, associating whatever this is with the legendary mnet-hybe show that created enhypen (+ &team to some extent) is so weird, wakeone/teddy/yg or whoever manage this and hybe have so many differences on so many levels from music to artistic direction to management etc..
I was looking forward to having a real iland sequel under hybe direction and mentors, but it took so long that it fell apart and they had to create another show that led to illit gg.
another reason would be also that there are already too many groups in kpop and too many survival shows now here and there, i don't have the patience nor the energy anymore to vote in vain and pay attention to all the new ones that are arriving all at the same time while there are so many older groups that are there still active and deserve more attention, don't wanna be volatile personally
I feel like we've been getting a lot less groups in the past year though. I think in a few years the amount of groups will level out we are already getting close to skz and gidles contracts being up and fromis_9's and the boyz are up this year. I feel like we've been getting pretty fortunate with contract renewals with twice and seventeen but I feel our luck is going to start running out
