I hate what's going on and as much as I wish there wasn't a war, it makes sense that both sides are defending themselves. Hamas is a clear t*rrorist group and what they did to Israel was unforgivable, but it isn't fair to those in Gaza knowing that Israel was going to attack Gaza at one point for what they did. I hope the families there are safe, as well as the hostages. I don't support Hamas, but Israel and Gaza are in my prayers. I hope you don't judge based on where the girls are from since what's happening isn't their fault and it isn't fair to take out such frustrations on young girls.
My top 6 - Manon, Nayoung, Sophia, Daniela or Celeste, Lara, and Megan. I wouldn't mind Ua debuting, but she's really young. I can definitely see Hybe trying to rig out Manon, and I agree, it's gonna backfire considering how popular she is. I love her unique vocal tone and stage presence! It's really irritating to see how fans are using this elimination and her missing practice due to being sick as her being not "dedicated" enough. Absolutely ridiculous! Samara was originally in my top 6 because she's one of the best vocalists on the show and she did so well in Antifragile! But after the controversy... I'm heartbroken about Karlee's elimination 😢 I feel like she didn't get a chance to show her skills due to her laryngitis during the competition. It's unfortunate. 💔
I was a little skeptical of Manon at first because the execs were saying she was missing practice but she was sick! It made me feel like they were trying to sabotage her by not saying why she was missing practice. I was also so heartbroken about Karlee. I love her voice and it sucks that they don't get individual evaluations at this point so one bad song/part choice can mean you're out without nationality support. The only thing I disagree with is Ua. I think she should debut and her age doesn't bother me. I don't think minors should debut by default but this girl was born to dance. She is so good and she's been doing competition and long training for years already. I'm more concerned about her English/Korean abilities, which I think could leave her feeling alienated in the group without another Japanese member, than I am about her age.
Manon finally getting the respect she deserves. Honestly she's been getting flack for being sick and being reserved but like that doesn't warrant all the unnecessary hate she's been getting
Emily is a talented dancer but I don't think she has a strong singing voice from what we've heard. It really sounded like she was talk-singing during Antifragile. I think Hybe and Geffen are going to rig her into the group even though I wouldn't be super mad about it
She does not have to be a super amazing singer to debut. In the K-pop industry, everyone is not at Whitney Houston's level of singing. She is good at dancing that can help the group. Everyone can complement each other. Sorry, I just don't like seeing comments like this.
I feel like Emily and Marquise are going to get rigged into the group. I think they are setting up Marquise's underdog story now with her feeling defeated and her best friend in the show being eliminated.

They already have a SE Asian representative (Sophia) and I don't think they'll have two SE Asian girls in the group. Sophia is highly favored by the fans, HxG and the girls in the competition so she's more likely to debut than Marquise. I could be wrong though.
Honestly think the whole chosing-who-you-want-to-debut-with thing was a very smart move. We don't get to see a lot about the girls like we do with other survival shows with 3 hour long episodes (lol), so getting to know how the ACTUAL contestants feel about each other was very valuable to us since we don't know them like they know each other. I think this was HYBEs way of letting the viewers get some inside information to help us form our opinions. The whole editing thing: i honestly just think group B was not as super-in-your-face-positive like group A was and that has nothing to do with shady editing imo. We have seen how HYBE has been giving Manon a lot of center time and screentime and now that she has been sick she hasn't got that much screentime because... she couldn't be there to be filmed, so it's only natural. And the same goes with other contestants, the ones who are more outgoing will get more screentime, i don't think that's shady, i just think thats how the entertainment industry works, be entertaining and you will get the chance to entertain. Sounds harsh but idk i'm just looking at it realistically cause i am tired of people getting angry and calling everything shady.
Agreed, but I think they need individual evaluations asap. I know they are forming a group but the "group" missions are not fair to everyone - the line distribution and choices can really support some girls and hurt others. We need to see what the girls think their own strength is and what they want to show viewers.
Hybe when their forming a group there's some things that they were considering. First, Talent, Height, Popularity and Presence so these qualities are on this list. 1. Lara 2. Sophia 3. Daniela 4. Manon 5. Megan 6. Yoonchae These girls were also my top 6

As an Indian, I’m shocked and upset that samara is anti Indian. I actually really liked her and supported her a lot so this was shocking. I feel so incredibly sorry for my girls Lara and Ezrela. I can’t imagine how hurt they must feel. People don’t take racism and hate towards Indians seriously and it shows in a lot of the comments that are trying to defend samara on twitter and RUclips

Indian contestants both have more talent especially Laras vocal is one of best among many in dream academy along with samara so obviously she'll going to debut and Indians will definitely support not only Indians if they really talented other country's definitely support them

The whole thing about samara surprised me cause I literally read about it when i woke up and it was the first thing i saw and it came me out of nowhere but sheesh.. I don’t know if hybe will try to push her into the debut lineup but she was high in votes anyways until now and almost everyone will drop/did drop her out of their top6 so i don’t know how that will work out for her

Personality is so important though. There are so many talented idols and musicians but what makes them special or stand out? I can't support every talented idol - I don't have enough time or money - so I want to support idols who are talented but also who feel authentic and have good character. I want to feel good buying albums to support them. Talent is also something that can be potential that is enhanced with training. I'd rather support someone I see working hard to develop their skills and making me feel inspired over someone who is naturally talented and doesn't need to try hard.

The funny thing is she is still a trainee and she is causing this issue. She is not yet an idol. What do you think will happen? Yes she is 17 but being seventeen still have common sense. I'm not here to defend Samara but to show more about how our culture works so you can understand a tad more about how I perceive Samara History time: So, as you should know, we were colonized by the Portuguese and the Catholic church was detrimental for the success of the colonization. Part of the function of catechizing Brazilians was to insert into the culture "the love of work" (or how to be enslaved and be quiet about it), 'love of God (church) and respect for their colonial masters (and contempt for those who are not white and Christian) Many middle easterners came to Brazil as well as many muslims (many enslaved). Fast forward, 1889, there was a massive import of white immigrants in an attempt to "white the nation". Eugenics became mainstream. The evangelical churches came to Brazil around 1910 Then, the WW1 and 2 f*cked everything more, because we already had all the racism ingrained against the indigenous, black, Muslim and middle easterners (including the Jewish), add to it sinophobia, and a profound suspicion against the Japanese. (USA kinda "helped" on it) Then the media said that now that Germany fell, the new enemy was the communists and every non European (white) was suspicious. Then the 70s, and the televangelists, and their ideas reheated from USA. Israel a a country was a "signal of the end of the times" , "Jesus is coming back". Our media is biased towards Israel and has been manipulated by the international far right many many times, 400 years of structural racism, emotional (and economic) dependence on the church and the pastor, poverty, 300 years of little access to education for most people (my grandma had 4th grade and she was the most educated in the family). Many people in Brazil don't even realize that they are racist. I understand the criticism but I think that most of all, Samara needs help to realize her mistakes.

She (and us) may not perceive this as wrong (reasons are up there) but many people may find this reproachful. I, myself, think that it is a reason for concern if someone that works for me have this kind of online past, but the best resolution would be a serious talk, information and education so the same mistakes are not made in the future. The thing is, I don't think hybe values her that much to risk a backlash.

unpopular opinion, as per Hybe stating themselves, this group is aimed at the USA, its not going to be a non Korean group promoting in korea like blackswan for example, so theyll be promoting in the US in American shows, mainly infront of American fans, and in American interviews so why have contestants who cant speak english in this show? people like Ua, Mei, Nayoung, Youngchae could have easily competed in R U Next, its going to be very awkward and excluding for these girls
I don't think there is an issue with promotion usually the leader or the most fluent member does most of the talking in whatever country they are promoting in anyway and the others will read cue cards/use translators, but I do think it will be alienating if they are the only member in the group who can't speak English. They definitely should be giving these girls English lessons as part of their training. I had such a hard time watching Iris in RU Next knowing they didn't give her extra Korean lessons. She wasn't fluent and was struggling to understand direction/feedback and couldn't get the pronunciation right. She had to rely so heavily on Moa and the other girls to help but they should have hired a translator or Korean coach!
I tell myself don't watch survival shows there's too much drama, but here I am. Over and over again, it doesn't matter what format it takes there is always drama. Honestly, I like all of the girls. I wish people stop putting down Emily. I wish all the girls the best.
It's sad to see people wanting to harm a girl on the internet without knowing what really happened. my top 6 is lara, megan, daniela, sophia, emily/ezrela, and nayoung. this lineup would be a rly perfect balance of vocals and dancing, and all 6 of them have incredible stage presence. i think megan and emily are INCREDIBLY slept on, especially megan. she is one of the best performers on the show (prob top 3 imo) and an extremely strong vocalist even if she isn’t AS strong as some others. i would be fine with either emily or ezrela tbh, emily is an INSANE dancer and would easily be the best dancer in the group, but obviously isn’t as strong vocally. i do still rly like her voice tho and think it would add something fun to the group. ezrela has not impressed me AS much when it comes to performing, but i just think she is so sweet and pretty and talented in both singing and dancing so she would be a great addition to the group. i have some strong opinions on manon and honesty don’t want her to debut. tho she no doubt has a beautiful voice, i have been utterly unimpressed by her performances and even her singing and several points. you can say whatever you want about her being sick, but at the end of the day she is not giving anywhere near as much as the other girls and has not proven worthy of debuting
I don't think she hates Indians base on those videos alone cause then again if she does why would she even have a deep bond with Lara. Those videos does give a misconception towards Indians, I myself don't hate India, I love the culture but those food were definitely handled unconventionally to what I'm used to and very unsanitary this is not just an India thing South East Asians, Latin Americans and Africans are also portrayed the same. You definitely hate on the act not the race in general, people these days put woke and racism unto anything these days. Like when people are not attracted to a specific race they are basically called racist, like dude it's just preference nothing more complicated than that.

Religion does have a knack at influencing and somehow brainwashing its devotees especially for young and naive people like her, she's still young and still more room to grow and learn, I personally stop taking any sides from the war cause no one in the end is right cause no side accepts peace. The Hamad group threw fatal strikes on the innocent and Israel retaliated with the same tactic, the sad part is non of this innocent live probably even wanted to take sides or be involved in this conflict and they are the casualties of this century old feud. On her side though Brazil is a very predominant Christian country (correct me if I'm wrong) her upbringings are probably rooted on stern Christian values which basically clouds values of humanity. Only then will someone realize the value of humanity once someone tries to open it for them.

How can in a "global" selection like this an ENTIRE continent NOT BE REPRESENTED? Where is 1 African girl? Are there no girls in Africa? What's the programs direction to say about this?
Honestly, I don't think I would tune in to the group, I wasn't interested in the group or any of the contestants and there was barely any content to actually connect with them. I think that because of the lack of content, people were projecting their ideas onto the girls, thinking that because one girl was X, she has to do/or like X. Racism is wrong, obviously, if it was something about ideal types or something else, it wouldn't matter because that's just preference, but being against a whole race? That's just not it. I do think people were shocked because they were projecting what they thought that person would be like just because of where they're from. This is exactly why you don't support people for their skin tone or race, it's best to focus on talent. If the most talented are Korean, then let them debut, if it's Indian, then they should debut, etc. People NEED to stop caring about race and skin tone in order to have a fully equal society. Someone I know (who's black) does not like black people because they think that it's mostly black people committing crimes and causing trouble. This is true in a sense, but that doesn't mean all black people are bad, I've met various people of various races and all of them have their problems, some more than others, but it doesn't change my point. We should treat everyone with respect no matter their skin tone. I highly doubt that this show will succeed because they have extremely low engagement, barely any content, and minors, and they don't actually want to be separated from K-pop. No global group needs to be amazing at dancing, they need to have stage presence and greatly unique vocals. K-pop needs to stop trying to make a global group with such young people, which repeatedly proves unsuccessful for Western artists. An example of this is Olivia Rodrigo, she was constantly teased for her age when Sour blew up, and because having a teen image will not work for Western audiences, Olivia was allowed by her agency to use swear words to not be related to the kidz bop image that are given to young western artists. This is the exact reason that Vcha will not reach the popularity that they expected, they already have the kidz bop music and the members are mostly minors or recently turned into legal adults (in the US). The build for a group has to be natural, not so manufactured like the K-pop industry. Sure, western artists are manufactured, but are promoted to look more natural and less manufactured, you're never going to see Ariana Grande's agency announce that she's having another album, all of it is usually revealed by the artists themselves, with spoilers and all that. The K-pop formula won't work, most of these K-pop artists that are popular internationally is mostly because of existing K-pop fans, not casual listeners. There's the rare case of NewJeans that blew up globally not only with K-pop fans but also casual listeners, and that's because their music is very different from K-pop, it has a unique sound that doesn't have a typical K-pop formula. That's because NewJeans isn't trying to be a K-pop group or a global group, they're just trying to be a group. Sure, their music is in Korean, but they don't limit themselves to that and try to make their music neutral for both K-pop stans and casual listeners. Anyways, I think I'm rambling, so great video and if any people who read this comment have any questions or just want to reply, feel free.

It really pains me to write this because i've been a fan of yours for a couple of years now... But i don't understand why you support hamas. Because yes, at this moment, saying you are against israel in this war means you are pro hamas. There's a difference between advocating for human rights and straight up murdering innocent civilians. Seriously Jiwoo was pretty bad, her last presentation DESPERATE was horrible, not strong stage presence, not facial expressions, she just blinked many times unnecessarily, it looked bad. She only had good vocals but that’s it, not even visuals. Jeemin was the only who was robbed in that show. Anyway, about Samara I don’t know how Brazilians or HYBE will react about this, at least I think she’ll make it until the final but not sure about debuting. Well, I think she deserves another chance, she is young and everyone makes mistakes no one is perfect not even idols. Besides look how many people here trying to give “morals” lessons with hate comments at the end they are the same. The problem with this show is that they decided to make a Netflix serie.

I hate what's going on and as much as I wish there wasn't a war, it makes sense that both sides are defending themselves. Hamas is a clear t*rrorist group and what they did to Israel was unforgivable, but it isn't fair to those in Gaza knowing that Israel was going to attack Gaza at one point for what they did. I was a little skeptical of Manon at first because the execs were saying she was missing practice but she was sick! It made me feel like they were trying to sabotage her by not saying why she was missing practice.
I was also so heartbroken about Karlee. I love her voice and it sucks that they don't get individual evaluations at this point so one bad song/part choice can mean you're out without nationality support.
The only thing I disagree with is Ua. I think she should debut and her age doesn't bother me. I don't think minors should debut by default but this girl was born to dance. She is so good and she's been doing competition and long training for years already. I'm more concerned about her English/Korean abilities, which I think could leave her feeling alienated in the group without another Japanese member, than I am about her age.

They already have a SE Asian representative (Sophia) and I don't think they'll have two SE Asian girls in the group. Honestly think the whole chosing-who-you-want-to-debut-with thing was a very smart move. We don't get to see a lot about the girls like we do with other survival shows with 3 hour long episodes (lol), so getting to know how the ACTUAL contestants feel about each other was very valuable to us since we don't know them like they know each other. I think this was HYBEs way of letting the viewers get some inside information to help us form our opinions.
The whole editing thing: i honestly just think group B was not as super-in-your-face-positive like group A was and that has nothing to do with shady editing imo. We have seen how HYBE has been giving Manon a lot of center time and screentime and now that she has been sick she hasn't got that much screentime because... she couldn't be there to be filmed, so it's only natural. And the same goes with other contestants, the ones who are more outgoing will get more screentime, i don't think that's shady, i just think thats how the entertainment industry works, be entertaining and you will get the chance to entertain. Sounds harsh but idk i'm just looking at it realistically cause i am tired of people getting angry and calling everything shady.
Agreed, but I think they need individual evaluations asap. I know they are forming a group but the "group" missions are not fair to everyone - the line distribution and choices can really support some girls and hurt others. We need to see what the girls think their own strength is and what they want to show viewers.

Personality is so important though. There are so many talented idols and musicians but what makes them special or stand out? I can't support every talented idol - I don't have enough time or money - so I want to support idols who are talented but also who feel authentic and have good character. I want to feel good buying albums to support them. Talent is also something that can be potential that is enhanced with training. I'd rather support someone I see working hard to develop their skills and making me feel inspired over someone who is naturally talented and doesn't need to try hard.

So, as you should know, we were colonized by the Portuguese and the Catholic church was detrimental for the success of the colonization. Part of the function of catechizing Brazilians was to insert into the culture "the love of work" (or how to be enslaved and be quiet about it), 'love of God (church) and respect for their colonial masters (and contempt for those who are not white and Christian)
Many middle easterners came to Brazil as well as many muslims (many enslaved).
Fast forward, 1889, there was a massive import of white immigrants in an attempt to "white the nation". Eugenics became mainstream.
The evangelical churches came to Brazil around 1910
Then, the WW1 and 2 f*cked everything more, because we already had all the racism ingrained against the indigenous, black, Muslim and middle easterners (including the Jewish), add to it sinophobia, and a profound suspicion against the Japanese. (USA kinda "helped" on it)
Then the media said that now that Germany fell, the new enemy was the communists and every non European (white) was suspicious.

unpopular opinion, as per Hybe stating themselves, this group is aimed at the USA, its not going to be a non Korean group promoting in korea like blackswan for example, so theyll be promoting in the US in American shows, mainly infront of American fans, and in American interviews so why have contestants who cant speak english in this show? people like Ua, Mei, Nayoung, Youngchae could have easily competed in R U Next, its going to be very awkward and excluding for these girls
I don't think there is an issue with promotion usually the leader or the most fluent member does most of the talking in whatever country they are promoting in anyway and the others will read cue cards/use translators, but I do think it will be alienating if they are the only member in the group who can't speak English.
They definitely should be giving these girls English lessons as part of their training. I had such a hard time watching Iris in RU Next knowing they didn't give her extra Korean lessons. She wasn't fluent and was struggling to understand direction/feedback and couldn't get the pronunciation right. She had to rely so heavily on Moa and the other girls to help but they should have hired a translator or Korean coach!
That's really not a issue they cab just learn English, like most foreign trainees/idols do too

my top 6 is lara, megan, daniela, sophia, emily/ezrela, and nayoung. this lineup would be a rly perfect balance of vocals and dancing, and all 6 of them have incredible stage presence. i think megan and emily are INCREDIBLY slept on, especially megan. she is one of the best performers on the show (prob top 3 imo) and an extremely strong vocalist even if she isn’t AS strong as some others. i would be fine with either emily or ezrela tbh, emily is an INSANE dancer and would easily be the best dancer in the group, but obviously isn’t as strong vocally. i do still rly like her voice tho and think it would add something fun to the group. ezrela has not impressed me AS much when it comes to performing, but i just think she is so sweet and pretty and talented in both singing and dancing so she would be a great addition to the group. i have some strong opinions on manon and honesty don’t want her to debut. tho she no doubt has a beautiful voice, i have been utterly unimpressed by her performances and even her singing and several points. you can say whatever you want about her being sick, but at the end of the day she is not giving anywhere near as much as the other girls and has not proven worthy of debuting

Religion does have a knack at influencing and somehow brainwashing its devotees especially for young and naive people like her, she's still young and still more room to grow and learn, I personally stop taking any sides from the war cause no one in the end is right cause no side accepts peace. Honestly, I don't think I would tune in to the group, I wasn't interested in the group or any of the contestants and there was barely any content to actually connect with them. I think that because of the lack of content, people were projecting their ideas onto the girls, thinking that because one girl was X, she has to do/or like X. Racism is wrong, obviously, if it was something about ideal types or something else, it wouldn't matter because that's just preference, but being against a whole race? That's just not it. I do think people were shocked because they were projecting what they thought that person would be like just because of where they're from. This is exactly why you don't support people for their skin tone or race, it's best to focus on talent. If the most talented are Korean, then let them debut, if it's Indian, then they should debut, etc. People NEED to stop caring about race and skin tone in order to have a fully equal society.
Someone I know (who's black) does not like black people because they think that it's mostly black people committing crimes and causing trouble. This is true in a sense, but that doesn't mean all black people are bad, I've met various people of various races and all of them have their problems, some more than others, but it doesn't change my point. We should treat everyone with respect no matter their skin tone.
I highly doubt that this show will succeed because they have extremely low engagement, barely any content, and minors, and they don't actually want to be separated from K-pop. No global group needs to be amazing at dancing, they need to have stage presence and greatly unique vocals. K-pop needs to stop trying to make a global group with such young people, which repeatedly proves unsuccessful for Western artists. An example of this is Olivia Rodrigo, she was constantly teased for her age when Sour blew up, and because having a teen image will not work for Western audiences, Olivia was allowed by her agency to use swear words to not be related to the kidz bop image that are given to young western artists. This is the exact reason that Vcha will not reach the popularity that they expected, they already have the kidz bop music and the members are mostly minors or recently turned into legal adults (in the US). The build for a group has to be natural, not so manufactured like the K-pop industry. Sure, western artists are manufactured, but are promoted to look more natural and less manufactured, you're never going to see Ariana Grande's agency announce that she's having another album, all of it is usually revealed by the artists themselves, with spoilers and all that. The K-pop formula won't work, most of these K-pop artists that are popular internationally is mostly because of existing K-pop fans, not casual listeners. There's the rare case of NewJeans that blew up globally not only with K-pop fans but also casual listeners, and that's because their music is very different from K-pop, it has a unique sound that doesn't have a typical K-pop formula. That's because NewJeans isn't trying to be a K-pop group or a global group, they're just trying to be a group. Sure, their music is in Korean, but they don't limit themselves to that and try to make their music neutral for both K-pop stans and casual listeners.

Seriously Jiwoo was pretty bad, her last presentation DESPERATE was horrible, not strong stage presence, not facial expressions, she just blinked many times unnecessarily, it looked bad. She only had good vocals but that’s it, not even visuals. Jeemin was the only who was robbed in that show. Anyway, about Samara I don’t know how Brazilians or HYBE will react about this, at least I think she’ll make it until the final but not sure about debuting. Well, I think she deserves another chance, she is young and everyone makes mistakes no one is perfect not even idols.
