I would add a bit of chickpea miso. Imo it's a perfect sub for cheese.

I will have to try the lemon juice, it seems like it would be a nice flavor enhancer. I usually use hazelnuts or walnuts in my pesto for more flavor, and sometimes add watercress for a peppery zest.

My vegan pesto is the same recipe, except I add an entire avocado and some nutritional yeast to the mix.

I have never seen pesto with lemon juice but why not
it adds a little tartness that balances out the oil. with a non-vegan version you can get the bite with cheese, but lemon works for vegan approach in this case (though not everywhere obviously)
The combination of the ingredients makes this pesto taste so good, and I don’t feel like I need to make it with cheese at all. Thank you so much for watching my video!
Bonsoir, si vous n'avez pas encore essayé de faire du pesto avec des épinards (jeunes pousses de préférence) Je vous invite à le faire. Je remplace les pignons de pin par des cerneaux ou des noisettes. Et s'il me reste un morceau de comté, j'en ajoute. C'est aussi bon sans. !
I didn't know it froze so well. I might use some large silicone ice cube/food container to freeze some different sized blocks 😊👍🏻

Maybe? Not sure if it gets that hot anyway I thought that stuff would cook off at higher temps. Though if you’re worried you can use a mortar & pestle.

Why the tbsp of olive oil just on top at the end?
To stop it from oxidizing.
Can you do this with thyme instead of basil?
It would be an entirelu different thing. I have made pesto like things with various combinations of mint, watercress, spinach, and they all are pretty good.

I really thought for a second that the 5 first second of the video were in fact the whole video. It made me very anxious no to be able to know the ingredients.

Thank you for not putting nutritional yeast in this. I think that ingredient is Used excessively in so many vegan recipes. You truly are an artist in the kitchen.

There's no need to add the word "vegan" to pesto, the original recipe already doesn't contain any animal meat so why would you even add that useless word to this great italian recipe!?
If the word vegan wasn't added I would have not looked at this, because the other recipes I saw added cheese. Since I've never made any before I had no idea whether leavin cheese out would harm the taste, so IMO he needs the word vegan.
