This video is about our first impressions of Delhi, India. This is a city we have always wanted to visit and we cannot believe that we actually got to explore Delhi.
Of course, we started our trip on a Rikshaw. We headed towards the metro in order to take us from the south of Delhi to the north. We had to take 2 metro lines in order to get there but the Delhi train system is designed so well, with trains going all over the city, so it was no problem at all.
We began exploring Delhi by starting at the Red Fort. The Red Fort was built and designed by Shah Jahan, an Emperor during the Mughal Era. He is the same Emperor that built the Tag Mahal for his wife. The red fort was one of the biggest forts here in India and is a must when visiting Delhi.
Thereafter we saw a little theme park right next to the fort and were quite curious as to what rides they had and if we could take one. Once we had walked around the park, we found a ride that only cost INR 50 per person and decided to go on it. Let's just say that we haven't done anything as crazy as this in a long time. FYI, the safety bar was tied with a rope :0
We then head into Chandi Chowk where found some Jalebi, a popular sweet dish here in India.
Jalebi is a popular sweet snack in south and west Asia, Africa, and Mauritius. It goes by many names, including jilapi, zelepi, jilebi, jilipi, zulbia, jerry, mushabak, z’labia, or zalabia. Is basically dough that they squeeze out into hot oil in the shape of a circle. Once it's fried, they dunk it in syrup to give the Jalebi taste. They added condensed milk to ours so you can only imagine what it tastes like.
As it was afternoon, we headed to a place called Haldirams, a popular shop in India, where we decided to try some Chole Bhature. Chole bhature is a food dish popular in the Northern areas of the Indian subcontinent. It is a combination of chana masala and bhatura/puri, a deep-fried bread made from maida.
Once our tummies were full, we climbed onto a bicycle rikshaw in order to go to Jama Masjid. Jama Masjid is an Old mosque in Delhi where you can actually climb to the top of one of the minarets. We thought the bicycle rikshaw would be relaxing, but with so much traffic and people walking everywhere, it was more chaotic than relaxing. With the sounds of scooters hooting and people shouting, it was an experience on its own.
Finally, we made it to Jama Masjid. We headed up to the top of the minaret to see the views of Delhi. Once we got to the top, things got crazy. So many people were squished into this small little place with nowhere to stand, and it had us all thinking, why are we here? But once we saw the views of Delhi, we understood!

The Buddymoon - isnt this mosque exactly or very similar to the mosque you guys visited in Lahore in that walled city. Both the mosques looked exactly the same.
go to rajasthan there are bigger forts than this
Keep watching😁 we get there😜
You nailed it in very first minute 😄 Perfect bargaining. Welcome to India
Thank you 😁
No.
What perfect ??? Tampoo wala jyada nhi maang raha tha.
Bhai 150 was honest price, rickshaw is 30% more expensive than Uber, you can’t bargain with them comparing with Uber. Drvi local support rickshaw or ola.
@@pulakification I completely understand. I actually didn't mean the price, I mean the way he bargained was great.

Hi
@@fojideepakkashyap9189 yes bro
Yeah well I like the people but the country itself is OMG horrible!
Most of us spent our time there on the toilet. We did not drink the water yet we all has Gastro and various other bugs. Most of the place has a horrible Stench and the food is something that you have to eat without thinking too much about how it was prepared. Trust me if it had been even mediocre I would not be complaining. We got free tickets and Hotel so it was not like we lost money, we just lost weight!
@@derickvernon6652 India is a very big country which is not fully developed. Some areas are very well developed and some are not so well developed yet. I think you were in a side that is not fully developed yet or you stayed in a very cheap hotel.
There are so many world class luxurious hotels in India. If you had gone there, perhaps you would not have had this complaint.
That was a hectic first day. The food and architecture in India are among the best in the world.
Crazy first day right😜 it was an amazing first day though😁

from the start of your journey & end of your journey in India, it seems like a well-planned & well-researched trip. you saved on travel time by traveling from north to south direction & saved the travel cost by taking trains instead of flights & taxis to the airport.

Welcome to India.
Unity in diversity is the identity of us Indians।
जय हिन्द जय भारत।
Ask Indian Muslims 😅😅😅😅 who are not even allowed to slaughter cows on Eid. Your diversity is a farce , just on papers, we very well know it, you can fool these foreigners (not the likes of Harry Jaggard) but we know it
They are pessimistic as fu*k. there are many other international travellers who truely knows how to travel to diff countries.

Catching the crazy spirit of Delhi through real interactions and eateries mixed with the Red Fort and Jama masjid, the metro and Chandni Chowk, was a great planned yet spontaneous script. Loved the noise and loud ear shattering sounds you captured.

Both of you are humble. Will be watching your series guys! Thanks, take care & safe journeys! ✌😎
You don’t need to exit the metro station in order to change lane, but can change within the metro station through the stairs 😭😭🤦🏻♂️
We are hearing this through the comments😜hahaha maybe was made a mistake😂
@@thebuddymoon
You should ask somebody man ....
These mistakes can spoil your overall experience.
It would have taken less than half time and no additional money if you would have changed from inside.

Every thing happens internally.
Passenger just has to enter once and only exit at final destination.

28:54 It doesn't have chicken pieces Leanne, it was probably some Chaat as you mentioned, these are generally Pure vegetarian,it contains yogurt (we call it Dahi in India), some pomegranate, some indian 🇮🇳 snacks which we call Namkeen , Chutney(Both red and green), salt and few Chaat Masala's and crumbled piece of papadi that give it crunchy-ness 😅(which is made of flour)
Thank you 😊
That was bhalla papdi that they had... That soft thing in that was Bhalla...made of lentils(moong/urad daal)... Haldiram is a vegetarian outlet..!
N papdi chaat or any chaat is veg snack in India ..!
Only a few are non veg ppl..n so they have diff places...diff restaurants..diff dishes..!

10:50 The entire area inside the Red Fort was crowded with beautiful buildings, but after the revolt of 1857 the British demolished most of the residential buildings sparing only a handful of the main pavilions and added some British barracks.
That's why the interior of the fort has wide open spaces which wasn't the case during the time of Shahjahan....
That's super interesting. Thanks Morpheus😊
Delhi was at its peak 1580s - 1730s.
Then various invasions by the Shah of Iran & Abdalli ransacked all the monuments, leaving only a trace left behind, which the Brits did a purge on in 1857.
Interesting
