Can’t wait to hear your feedback! Style #1 or #2???
I vote for number one. She looks much younger! than with two. But just my humble opinion.
I would love to see this style of video but with the person in your salon. Give them a quick overview of their “mistakes”, a run down of options and of course, curveballs, and then do what they choose. That would be next level!!
I preferred option 2 for this lovely lady.
I love umber 1 on her!!! What is texturizing?😊
Definitely No 2. It's softer looking and much more feminine! 😍
Number 2. She may still want to put up and this option gives her more hairdos
I like #2. I think it would be easier to maintain. Sometimes short hair is hard to get just right.
2! The ends on 1 would drive me crazy personally. On my hair, the light would shine through the ends and really make them look thin. I'm blonde and fine though so maybe it's different. I'd love to see 2 with some wave and not so polished. Love your content... Thank you!
These are exactly my concerns. I love the way you made the changes. I am 71 yrs old. I would love to go shorter but, I don't want to look like an old woman. I love your expertise and enjoy your talent and videos. Thank you 😊
Sweetheart, you are 71. You are an old woman. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You certainly aren't going to look like a young woman. Embrace it!
If you want to go shorter, go shorter. You do you. But #1 to me puts her in her 80s.
@@marylamb7897
I've had short hair all my life until the COVID shutdown hit. My hair got down to my midback after not having a cut for *3* years! (I've recently finally got it cut to slightly longer than shoulder length.)
Hence, I know what it is like having short hair -- a lot more work with styling, and not forgiving with imperfect cuts. Also, need more frequent trims to maintain style.
@@miriam4235 I don't think you get her.... I'm 68 and feel like I'm 30- tons of energy and have no desire to look like a Bichon Frise. BTW, 70 is " younger" than it used to be. Many are living into their 90s and even to 100+.
@@CamilleGG451 ,exactly!
I prefer #2 but that is only because I like a more polished look. Great video. I have most of her hair issues except my hair has thinned a bit. I wish I had the super thick hair I used to have.
She looks great in both but wow when you put them next to each other #1 was like she had a facelift. Love it!
I love the short "craziness" curveball!!!! Makes her look younger and more fun ... absolutely!
Thank you! I totally agree!
I love the playful short style!
Good job Justin.
Thank you!
I like #2. I feel like what you did with that really livened it up. It will be easy for her to style, and she has some versatility with it. I also feel like it frames her face well. Not the most popular opinion, I know, but, I also think it may be easier for her to style. Great video. Thanks!
My hair cut like hers the before one but it's wavy and some curl. Going short would be a big mess on myself. But, it looks good on her.
The short hairstyle looks so much flattering on her. Beautiful…Number 2
Love #1, she looks like a fun lady and the playful style seems to echo and emphasize her eyes and her smile!
I have her same hair type and similar hairstyle. The way you explained why you would cut it to get the second look made so much sense. Thank you
Yes the 1 st curve ball is awesome! Fun and play and sooo modern!
#1 is a more youthful look. Very cute.
It’s fun on her, right
YOU are wonderful Justin!!! I’m hooked on your kindness and sense of humor. Also, you are a brilliant stylist! I hope Janice goes for the last iteration… fun and a little sassy is absolutely lovely on her!
2 is so cute!
It would be so easy for her to do!
#1 looks great on her, shows off her wonderful cheekbones
1 is a great look! 2 is
really good too. I had no idea what just texturizing could do! Thanks Justin🎉
Janice has great hair! I love the bob-like cut. Very elegant!
I, too have the same hair and it’s been a struggle. The second day is always a challenge. I vote for 1 in this instance. It give her more options to style the next day. Style 2 will require more styling the next day (and possible a nice ball cap). Both are flattering.
Nr 1 is wonderful on her ❤
It's cute on her right!
Wow. This could have been me. Same type hair, length, color, cut, and issues.
Last week I actually went with #2. Layered the front to cheek length. Long layers on sides that sweep round to back which is only slightly shorter. Nip up into the bottom of the sides with scissors which encourages a curve under. Best haircut in ages.
You know your stuff!
I like number 2 and think a different color would be fun too!
I totally should’ve done some color curveballs! I dropped the ball there for sure.
I cut my hair from long to pixie type when I was 36 years old. What a change. I never ever looked like and old women then and in fact look younger with short hair. Yes short hair does require more frequent trips to the salon but it beats putting it in a pony tail. Well I can go on and on and the pros and cons. The most important thing is to hair one’s hair the way you like it!
For sure #1! Great view of the out of doors you brought to us also! 😊
She looks so great in #2!
I can relate to having a lot of fine hair. It does lay flat. And I have ptsd from past texturizing, thinning shears and razor cut mishaps which prevented me from “going there” again. But I am bored and finally considering a “mob” style for my next look. I don’t love the specific curveball but agree a more fun, carefree style would do wonders for Janice to escape what I call “the bob uniform”, a classic look that can also be predictable. A shorter messy look would fit her objective of being easy to style but feel a style that is more current would be even better. I like your faster videos but miss seeing more curveballs. Also, Janice mentioned she wasn’t opposed to coloring her hair again. Would love to hear your thoughts in that regard too!
Great. points, I'll take them all into consideration for future videos! Thank you!
Not only is #1 a more flattering and fun cut, but I’m guessing it would suit her active lifestyle!
I thought the exact same thing!
Exactly!!! ONE!
I love #1! Much more fun and youthful 😊
I like #1 for her! You do a fabulous job on fixing hair!
I love the more layered shorter fun cut!
#1 NO QUESTION , ESPECIALLY WITH HER LIFE STYLE. THANK YOU
So glad to have your fantastic videos pop up on my phone!
#1 the crazy is the best for her. I can’t believe how it brightened and opened her face up it looks so good on her.
Great job again Justin
God Bless You and your wife🙏🏼💞
I LOVE #2 on her. #1 makes her long face look longer. #2 filled it out a little making it appear less long!
From a practical standpoint, I think #2 would be much easier for her to maintain and replicate. I would suggest maybe trying slight wispy bangs in front and/or playing around with the highlighting and lowlights or even change the shade a bit. I certainly learned a lot though. Thank you, Phillipa
LOVE the short style on her. It looks great!
Curveball for the win!!!!…that takes years off her!!!…looks so trendy and fun!!!…she has a beautiful face and skin!…cheekbones to die for!!!…that curveball accentuates all her attributes!!!!!…love it!!!!…much love and appreciation!!!…another great video, AND, that view does not SUCK!!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
She should go with the playful number 1. Just found your channel and subbed. What great tips you give. Love the video 😊
#1 -playful and easy to care for.
Either 1 or 2. They both look good but give very different results. Depends on what she feels good in. Confidence can make or break a look.
You are 100% correct!
Love the idea of ‘texturizing the ends.’ I have similar hair, but curly. I got a bit nervous when you said something about ‘if it’s done correctly. Can you demonstrate before I ask my hairdresser to do this, please?
#1 is the winner--it brings out her smile and the shape of her face, plus says "I'm active, I'm fun". #2 is okay, too, just a more sedate style. Both would be a win for her.
Hi Justin. I think both suit her. The shorter hairstyle certainly brings more attention to her eyes and cheekbones. On a personal level I have a couple of questions though if that’s ok? Is there more or less styling involved in the short hairstyle? Also thank you for bringing up texturising and thinning in relation blending ends and achieving volume. My hair Currently looks a little choppy so I now have the vocabulary to chat with my stylist about it. As a woman in her late 50’s who has some health conditions (multiple autoimmune diseases among them) I am experiencing hair thinning. Have you done any tutorials about this issue? If not could you? Thanks for your time Justin.
Style 2! Love it!
Style no 1, looks best in my opinion. At 67 years young I have always wanted to keep my hair long as I've aged, but due to thinning hair I now have resigned myself to a shorter style. It seems to me that modern flat, sleek, straight styles don't look as good as we age, it almost appears to drag the face down (unless of course if you have amazing thick hair still.) I now get cuts with more layering to create volume and curl which helps.
I love that you show nature in your videos. Makes me want to be there with you. Maybe you should let us know when you come to Australia so we can go hiking together!
I like #1 for her, also. I am almost same age. A year ago I went for a short bob (13 inches og length cut off). Fun! But, I am growing it out again (regular trims). It is fun to change it up!
Both looks are great! Depends upon which one she feels comfortable with. I have fine thick hair and I struggle with lift every day. . For me, I use a strong hold but lightweight styling product to get the most lift if that makes sense. No conditioner on my scalp, just on the ends. And drying to the opposite side of my part helps too.
I was really liking the adjustments to her current style but then...that curveball! Oh my gosh, love #1! 👏🏻
Sure I’m new to tire channel but I’m loving it. My dad and mother in law were both hairdressers. It’s a different time but the basics are the same. I wish I could find someone like you to fix my hair. It’s similar to the woman in this video but it’s very thin on the top. I’m only 62, but for some reason I’m getting pattern baldness. I have fine flat thin hair and not a lot. I desperately need help but who do I trust now that I’ve lost both my life long stylists
So good to see you out in nature. Age is not a disease; yet at the same time, I do like looking nice. I have very fine dead straight, thinning hair (due to meds.). Back is half inch on nape, with slight undercut. Front sides are around chin length. They curl slightly under. Very similar to your after picture. Except I have long thinnish bangs, blended into sides framing face. If I wanted a critique where would I send my question? New to your channel. You’re rocking it.
#1 is my vote! Much more dynamic and the volume in the top brings her face alive! Love it 😊
I love #1 short style. Definitely more fun and can get even funner (if that's a word) lol!
I love this video, like all the rest. I have hair like Janice…fine and straight! I like the suggestion of shorter fun version, but I’m not sure how to get the style to last. I would love to try this, but my hair always goes flat, even with texturizing. How would I style it to have that choppy playful look? Would I use rollers, curling iron, lots of hair mousse and hairspray!? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you for your channel! I always look forward to your next video!😃
I LOVE #1! (The short option). I have the same kind of hair and am thinking of a change. What is the style called/how would we describe it and ask our stylist for it?
My hair is exactly like hers in the beginning. I've been trying to find a hair stylist for years to cut hair the right way, many in my area of SC do not even layer hair correctly. I haven't been able to grow my hair past my shoulders for many years because once I get a haircut l have to go to someone else to fix their mess up and sometimes try to fix it myself one side is always longer than the other always, a continuous cycle 😩 Thanks for the video.
You perfectly explained my own hairstyle experience. I feel your pain. 😢
This is me too. My hair looks like her before hair. I have struggled for the last 6 or 7 years with this style. It’s just not right.
I can promise all of you that a large part of the issue is the layering and the texturizing. If you texturize it correctly, you will get a totally different look!
Definitely style 1... does something magic for her.
The texturizing is great! Sometimes a simple style is better.
#1, we need those layers. I also have a lot of fine straight hair. When I was younger, I'd perm, blow dry and hot curlers to try to get the Farrah look ;) Now, my blond has turned blah taupe. So, for years I've copied the Jamie Lee Curtis pixy but with blond highlights. Day to day, I often just air dry, but to look it's best, I have to blow dry for lift and use product to piece it.
Both no 1 and no 2 look good. You are the best!
I would prefer no 2... Elegant
#1 is fabulous & more youthful!!
It’s super fun, right!
I wish I lived in Portland! I would love love love to have you cut my hair. I find your channel absolutely fascinating, and love how you approach hairstyles and cuts!
Great ideas! Thanks!! ❤️
I like the 2nd look, but I feel the #1 is fun and youthful!! 👍☺️
Very pretty lady! Number 1 reveals her youthfulness.
no 1 really gives sparkle to her face! Very nice!👍
I'm sending my in. Get ready for it Justin
Love #1! How much work is it to actually get it to look all fun and flippy like that?
This video is very useful and informative. Thank you 😊
Loved #2!
I can see what you are saying about your first option, but I think this lovely lady would look really great in a shorter style than you went for this time.
You’re definitely not wrong! She could do a lot of styles for sure, and a lot of different lengths
#1 looks awesome!
Definitely number 1, subtle but really nice
#1. More fun and daring look.
Love the crazy style!
"Flowey" That's a great word!
#1. I also have a lot of fine hair. I like the curveball but I know with my hair, too many layers or too short of layers, my hair will get flatter. I’m growing out layers now and not sure where I will end up but each haircut helps.
I love the first one… very cute on her 😊
Definitely #1!! Number two was good for sure, but one is where it’s at! I too am a hairstylist for 22 years and I agree with the shorter layers and texture! And I love your input! Even doing hair for a lot of years it’s fun to learn new techniques and visions!😉
Craziness
I learn a lot here, but, like many, we cant find a hairstylist to do, or suggest, as we learn here! Love the short….I just got scalped, so I am screwed up, once again. 😢
Thank you! So sorry to hear that! I know what you mean. Finding a stylists to recommend to my audience is the hardest part of this all. There are tons of great ones out there but it's impossible for me to know them all.
Hi Justin, amazing view with the river just loved it wherever it is?????...Definitely number 1 hairstyle, it looks so much more fun on her and the texture of this cut is amazing......not too keen on her bob style haircut I find them a bit boring.......I saw she goes the new cut she would love it, from Margaret in South Australia!!!!
That change on her made her look older!!! The better bib was perfect!!!
Bob I meant!!! But she is beautiful anyway!!!!
Love the short cut…go crazy 💙💙💙
I think the shorter haircut and style really added a lot to her look and brought out her great features!
The curveball cut looks amazingly fun. At 59 I would go with cut #1.
*On other videos, I have watched about looking "aged", they say not to end the hair pointing to your neck. (Style # 1)Because it highlights the sags & creping going on. Any thoughts on that?
Absolutely number one
I like the short haircut. Much more fun.
Seems to kind of fit her right!
I’ve been a hairstylist for 40 years and I really agreed with your eye for the mistakes. As far as the results though I think #2 would be easier and #1 should be shorter in the back, keeping the bang a bit longer than you did.
I loved this video! I actually prefer number 2 ..
I love the end result. My hair very similar to second. What do I ask for when getting it cut?
I prefer #1 but very hesitant to get this for myself since my hair is so thin
Number 1 definitely!
Hey Justin, once again you have given great advice and options. Depending upon her personal style, either hair cut would be appropriate. However, I would absolutely recommend she try the curveball! It would suit her active lifestyle.
I like #2. It makes her look classy
I love #1 !!
Justin, you are a fun guy and have a great sense of humor!
I think the #1 style is fun-
probably easier to style-
and more a wash and go style which will compliment her busy active lifestyle. Thank you
I prefer 2 because it will give her more flexibility, i.e., flipped out or under, tousled look with Velcro rollers, ponytail, half up & half down, center part, side part, pigtails, etc.
Wow! #1 all the way! How sassy!!!
The bob looks nice on Janice, but when I saw the shorter style, I went ''WOAH''!!! YES!!!!!!
#1 for Spring and Summer; #2 for Fall and Winter. And would’ve loved to see both in the profile view. Thank you for the suggestions❣️❣️❣️
