- From 1961, Elizabeth Seal performs the song "Hey, Look Me Over" from the musical "Wildcat." This was the same year she won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress for her performance in the title role of "Irma La Douce." As far as I know she never appeared in a production of Wildcat -- this performance was a special presentation choreographed by Peter Gennaro.
That was epic! How great is to be able to see her dance after all these years of hearing about her legend!
I saw her yesterday. Amazing performance.
My mother used to make her hats when we lived in London int the late 50's and early 60's. She was quite eccentric and shocked everyone by smoking cigars!
“Does a man ever forget? Does he ever completely get over that first, fierce, bittersweet crush, that first love? I haven’t. I remember. And in a way, I still love Rosemarie Brown [Elizabeth Seal].... And there she was. Not the fabled perfect creature. Maybe not even beautiful. But alive. Oh, wonderfully alive and all the rest.... Touched me - and I was in love.”
- Tod Stiles (Martin Milner), Route 66, "Blues for the Left Foot" (1962), written by Leonard Freeman
Truly amazing performance! Are those legs connected by ... springs?

I love your username (at least part of it)...
Did her hair today. Lovely lady
Your grandmother? Wow! I'm watching her now, as I speak, on Route 66.
this is my grandmother...
I saw her not only in Irma, but also in the US touring company of A Shot in the Dark, as well as a nightclub act she did with your grandfather. She was delightful in everything!
shes my great-aunt lol
Too tough to be charming I always thought. But a good dancer.
Brilliant dancer, esp. in the movie "Town On Trial", unfortunately overrated singer.
Perhaps you mean *underrated* singer. Elsewise, please amplify.
@@guinsPen I would call her a "belter". Wife & I just watched the Route 66 episode last night.
