How did it take me a year to find this? By the time I got to see this production in London, Elizabeth Seal had taken over as Roxie, and it was a delight to see her again in a leading dance part 20 years after "Irma La Douce." And she had had a couple of disappointments in between: Announced to replace Judi Dench in the London "Cabaret," but the show closed instead; hired to open the London "Chorus Line" as Cassie and fired late in rehearsal. Even to one like myself who had seen the Broadway "Chicago" many times, this non-Fosse London premiere production of "Chicago" was cleverly conceived and worked well. Glad these clips exist, and thanks for posting.

I'm sure she channeled some of that frustration in this number!
can you describe what you mean by cleverly conceived? What was the concept, as it were? Can you describe any memories of the production/direction?
This is Elisabeth Seal (YAY!) who replaced Antonia Ellis.
Thank you for the correction!
Yes, this is Elizabeth Seal.
