    Interesting performance.🤔 So far, mine has proven reliable with the ammo I have tried so far.👍
    I have had inconsistent last round hold open, but I am pretty sure that is my grip, still working on it.🤷‍♂
    Other than the initial cleaning when I bought it, I have not cleaned my BG 2.0 and I don't intend to until I start having failures. I am at 700ish round mark so far with no hiccups that I can blame on the tool.🤷‍♂

      That's awesome DA. I just spent some time using some flitz polish on my feedramps and chamber for the gun, hopefully that clears things out (but that won't be shown in the next 3 videos for 380 that I have planned.

    To be honest, I have never really been able to watch many ballistics videos to the end but you do it in a way that keeps me interested the whole way through. Excellent job keep up the good work.

    I might use this in my G25 but not my BG 2.0. Great test series TBP. Thanks. 👊👍🇺🇲

      With a slightly longer barrel than the BG 2.0, I think this is a winner.

    Quite the variety of inconsistency, as you say, for your situation. Still, out of the short barrel, it may be a box of chocolates, every one different? There seems to be a common theme though, the BG 2.0 get a good bit out of the size and package. Thumb's up.

      Hi Craig. Yah, I think this one is just on the border of working…now I’ve seen bullets expand in fbi organic gel that don’t expand in this gel. So don’t know. Since this is all I have, I want more expansion and deeper penetration.

    • @craigm1954
      @craigm1954 2 месяца назад

      I really appreciate that what you do, has a direct link to past tests, with the gel. You’re building quite the reference.

  • @davidw835

    The gel for the BG 2.0 was very cool. Why did it make that pattern? Was it because it only partially expanded?

  • @vlogfriendsutopia
    @vlogfriendsutopia 2 месяца назад +2

    Without denim or a clothing barrier, we can't really tell whether these hollow points would work through it or not.

    • @triggerbarPhD
      @triggerbarPhD  2 месяца назад

      If it won’t expand without clothing, it for sure won’t expand with clothing. That’s why we run without.

    • @craigm1954
      @craigm1954 2 месяца назад

      Short of buying yards of material to have the same clothing simulation, how does one compare today, with past performance. I don’t mind it, but I have noticed changing material by some guntoobers, it’s not so clear if it’s an apples to apples comparison. But, we all do what we need to.

      @@triggerbarPhD Understandable, but it might give someone false confidence in a round, expecting it to work in every condition where it may not.

      @@craigm1954 I consider 14Oz denim, 4 layers, to be the baseline

    • @craigm1954
      @craigm1954 2 месяца назад

      I’d agree, but to some extent, the gel is the baseline? Then, push the one or three favorites to the next level.
      I was a fan, for example of Paul Harrell, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of his simulated tissue tests. I was glad that he fired multiple rounds, but it was always possible to slip past a rib bone, or between oranges. Different clothing samples, but no big deal, I didn’t mind.
      Good stuff, but not so easy to compare different rounds and platforms, at different times. I like angle deflection tests, like auto windshields, but first things first, maybe weed out the non starters?

    My wife wants a 380. That is some interesting stuff. I wonder how much gun companies are experimenting and testing things like this. Do aftermarket barrel swaps have an advantage in this area? Seems worth playing with down the road but I will never remember hahahaha Thanks for the video. Also, I stopped watching the guys with sponsored gel blocks. Just an FYI.

    • @triggerbarPhD

      Sometimes after market barrels are good and sometimes not. In my xdm elite I bout a threaded barrel and put it in. It worked great but even thought it was .5” longer I was getting less velocity out of the barrel. Crazy. So I guess it depends. 380 is trickier than most common ammo as it just has so little power so it’s right on the edge of it. Just have to find ammo that works for yours!

  • @frankbrowning328
    @frankbrowning328 2 месяца назад +1

    I wouldn't trust it to open when I need it to. Multiple layers of clothing, skin, bone etc. may make its performance even worse

    • @triggerbarPhD
      @triggerbarPhD  2 месяца назад

      Very true. I have seen bullets that don’t open in this gel, open in FBI organic gel but you are right, it’s likely to not open under clothing and other barriers.

    Unless you only ever have to defend yourself from people that are naked, without some cloth in front of the gel to pass through 1st, these results mean nothing. Why you ask? Because if/when cloth clogs the hollow point, the outcome will be completely different than without cloth.

    • @triggerbarPhD
      @triggerbarPhD  2 месяца назад

      That’s not true. The outcome may or may not be the same and at worst case it will perform like the round in this video that did not expand.
