This is almost my recipe verbatim, the only thing I do different is 1 tsp sugar in the mix and I brush the biscuits with buttermilk before putting in the oven. Watching your video made me go in the kitchen and make some lol
Love this recipe! I actually didn’t have buttermilk so I used Greek yogurt instead and it was amazing! I think I’m going to do Greek yogurt instead from now on! ❤
Honey, I have tried these biscuits and they came out fluffy. SO good. I have also tried your fried bread. It comes out great. I always use your recipe to make fried bread. Thank you so much. 😋💌
This recipe and especially your teaching presentation of it is what encouraged me to try making biscuits for the first time. Thank you so much for explaining how to make these and for making it easy to follow and understand. Also thanks for the tips throughout. 🙏🏽💖
I really loved this recipe. I made it at home and forgot to buy some biscuits (which happened to be needed) for a preschool lesson the next day. Luckily I had the recipe in my brain and whipped it up. The kids loved them with honey. Also, I added about 2 tsp or more of sugar to the recipe. Thank you for this amazing recipe!!! I love the grated butter idea!! 🎉🎉
Just wanted to give you a huge thank you for posting these biscuits I made these and they are the best biscuits my husband and I have ever made. Oh girl they were so good light buttery and fluffy my husband said throw out the other recipes these are the only ones we will be making from now on. So yummy going to make more for breakfast tomorrow 🥰
Tried your recipe this morning and it worked like a charm..I did not use my cast iron because it was full of sausage gravy, but I used a stainless baking tray with sides. I thought you were crazy with that much baking powder, but it was spot on. Great recipe. Thanks!
I haven't tried the recipe yet as I am waiting for my honey to arrive. I let Hilltop know about your recommendation of their products! Loved the video!
Necessity is the -mother- butter of invention, lol! These looked SO good🤤 Looking at them Hilltop Honeys reminded me of me dear mum's apple butter..mmmm🍎 Blessed Sunday to you 🕊️
also, mine rose higher, I think cause I put the tray in the freezer while the oven preheated, love them, (it's 90 and high humidity today, came out great)
Awww... Thank you. I have been having gallbladder issues . Wasn’t cooking much or even eating much smh. But I’m starting to feel better. Thanks for coming back to watch ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great recipe. I'm definitely going to make these. However, just curious why the parchment paper in your cast iron? Everything is better in a cast iron!! 😁
Honey!! Honey!! Honey!! Hey there Boo!! I want Homemade Fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits!!! Luv you Girl!!! Did you see the Community Post I shared about you!!! You are my Favorite!!! OH NO YOU DIDN'T bring MARTIN in here!!!! AHAHAHA....Blessings to you!! V.
I'm Gwenda! David is my son!! I love your recipes!! Where were you years ago when I was teaching ? I have learned so much from you!! Thank you and God bless you!
I usually add a half teaspoon of baking soda along with the baking powder because it works with the buttermilk. In my opinion, only actual buttermilk should be used. That lemon juice trick on regular milk just isn't the same. And please buy yourself a biscuit cutter. You'll be glad you did!
@@jamiewreyford3958 Yes, she did say vinegar. It's the same principle, though. Lemon juice is sometimes used to make "buttermilk," as well as vinegar. I've been cooking for over 55 years and I've tried both. This "hack" for buttermilk substitute is not going to give the same results as actual buttermilk. Please just buy real buttermilk for recipes. You can freeze buttermilk if you wish to keep it on hand. However, it will separate when thawed. I just put it in the blender or use a hand held blender to bring it back to the normal consistency.
I'm gonna guess salted bc of how yellow the butter looked. Also, these recipes usually call for salt, so if she didn't add any salt I'm sure it bc the butter was salted. :)
yes, before i thought making dough was a thing only natural born culinary geniuses can do. i am getting better making my own biscuits, finally got somewhere with the baking "powder", not "soda". little things i can sort out through little adjustments now. i'll do again this weekend and i'll try these new things i learned (sift the flour, let the dough sit in fridge, get a pin roll, mind the measurements). simple water too this time i'll see how they come out. bon apetite
Everything may be a factor, from how much/ what type of flour used, the temperature of your kitchen or countertop, how much you worked the dough may be what happened, with biscuits you CANNOT over work the dough, otherwise they’re NOT soft & fluffy. Maybe watch a few biscuit videos to get the general idea, and adjust for yourself. I hope you make some bomb biscuits next time! 💕 these are a few things I learned too!
I made these this morning, I just added two tablespoons of sugar to the flour. Such a good and easy recipe 👍🏽 thanks for sharing.
How it taste with the sugar in scared to add sugar in mines

If you do not have milk use 3/4 of sour cream with 1/4 of water mixed, thank you so much, I had to think outside the box for the buttermilk

I use unsalted butter in my biscuits, and my biscuits take more ingredients then most the videos I watch on U-tube. Yours look great.

I used to use a 32 oz pop cup cut my biscuits . Lol
Salted or unsalted butter?
It could be any but I think salted butter will make it salty because you can't control how salt it will be you can use it tho I'm using unsalted
How much baking powder and salt??????
How much is one stick of butter 🤔
Should be 1 cup.
@@lilacdolce246a stick of butter is a half cup.
Do u salted butter or non salted
I used unsalted. The recipe didn’t specify. 🙂

I have self-rising flour can I substitute for the AP flour?
u can but u don’t need to add any baking powder if you have self rising flour
AP stand for All Purpose flour which is the same as Self Rising.

Thank you for the great recipe. Question, if I decide to add an egg to the milk, how much buttermilk then? How about sugar, how much sugar?
Honey, these are DEFINITELY some very fluffy and delicious homemade buttermilk biscuits❤🤗!!!

Yes, just remove the salt and baking powder from the recipe✨
