My Baba ( Slovak for grandmother ) Was every beautiful memory I ever had as a child... my home life as a child was lonely because both my parents were pretty self absorbed however it was probably a better life than a lot of ppl had so I’m at least greatful for that. How sweet t o have ur grandma cooking for u. My grandma raised me because my mom was a widow with 3 small children. She worked to support us and my grandma kept us as we moved into her home when I was 15 months old. My dad had died 2 weeks before I was born. My grandma died in 1985. Oh how I wished she was still alive so we could cook together. Cherish every moment u have with her. I'm gonna make these in the morning.

Oh my goodness the memories from my past I will be 75 July I have a sifter just like that I bought in 1966 and some recipes still call for suffered flour her precious way of explaining how to make them,we were a big family no shortening cutter , didn't roll out we pinched the dough made pretty biscuits in our hand it was no rolling out just between the hands keep going grandma
You won't realize how priceless, that the biscuits your grandmother baked, truly are... until it is too late. The part that is so sad about it, is that their generation is almost all gone, and there are not enough good in the younger generation coming up, in order to replace them. They are irreplaceable, so you better enjoy it while you can. My grandmother, who made those awesome biscuits, too, passed away in 2015, almost 100 yrs old, a Native American, and there is no replacing her.
I think I actually might have some grasp of this reality. My outlook is to focus on this present time we have. Be in the moment as they say. Really grateful for your words of wisdom.
