If you only stare at her face the entire time while listening to Johnny talk, she smirks multiple times and looks like she's trying really hard to suppress a smile. Then she immediately puts on her fake sad face afterwards. There were instances where she literally had to close her eyes, put her head down, and take a deep breath in order to suppress her smile. Terrible acting. She has no remorse.

yup, survivor of narc relationship over here. That is called the lovebombing stage. The narc hides all imperfectiongs of themselves and present themselves the way they want them to be. They try to move fast so the other person does not notice their imperfections.
Flawed humans should not be dehumanized and put into boxed labeled “narcissists”.
My therepist said that narcissism is very rare and he has never personally evaluated one.
Most likely, these “bad” people we demonize as narcissists, are complex human beings who have feelings and emotions and are deeply troubled from experiencing their own abuse. To dehumanize them, simply because they hurt you is, ironically enough, a little narcissistic in itself. EVERYONE deserves to be understood.

I had endured not only a narcissist, but a sociopath as well and yet , this is atrocious how she abused him and ruined his life ! I am all for the truth to win . In this case he is the victim ! Mine had colon cancer so no need for diapers, rather, she would projectile vomit what would have otherwise gone into a diaper if only possible. I almost would have preferred them. There's no upside to cancer, it's horrible and unfair, I'm sorry for your loss.

Amber is a sad, sad person with a lot of serious issues. While JD is no angel either, he seems (so far) like a person who has had to deal with a lot of crap in his life and has survived it by evasion when necessary. I was a victim of child abuse as well and felt everything he described when he was a child suffering abuse from his parents. I understand perhaps better than anyone who hasn't experienced that violence his frame of mind and choice of removal from instances of violence when they occur. I feel for both of them but I strongly believe that he will win this horrible defamation suit. Such a sad story for sure but maybe something needed in our time to bring this kind of violence out from the shadows.

I’ve experienced something similar in my own life and chose evasion as an attempt to escape physical and psychological abuse. Everything Depp has described is suggestive of serial evasion - a type of behaviour that appears to have not only exasperated but *infuriated* Miss Heard - to the point where she consistently resorted to violence.

I think that mainly to do with the fact that men don't generally tell people they are getting abused by their wife/gf, I think they feel it makes them less of a man. but I think it is the opposite it makes them more of a man to stand up and tell the authorites that this is happening to them.

My dad was abused by my mom. Also, the other day one of my patients (I am a student nurse) disclosed to me that he had to have 2 repair surgeries to his hand due to his ex wife stabbing him in the hand. It happens probably just as often as abuse the other way around. It’s just men are not allowed by society to be vulnerable, they’re never believed.

I don’t think it will happen. Too many men feel that they either won’t be believed, that they will be laughed at, or that their experience of abuse will be twisted to make it seem that they were the abuser rather than the abused.

I divorced a woman who beat me up repeatably during our relationship about 30 years ago. We had a young child at the time and he recently just got married. I hadn't seen my ex wife in over 15 years and wasn't looking forward to seeing her at the wedding but we spoke privately for about two hours a day before the wedding and the conversation was, let's say, just about what I'd expected. She spent the first hour bragging about herself. She told me she had 4 rings from four different men who'd proposed to her whom she'd eventually declined to marry. Of course it was all their fault these realtionships failed but I listened patiently without judgement and let her speak her peace. She followed up these stories with how successful she still was in business. To round up the two hour meeting she finished by discussing how I'd mistreated her while we were together and instead of falling into her same old trap and getting defensive I said things like, if I said that or did that I was wrong. I never admitted to anything and never apologized but just sayinig, "if I did that I was wrong," was good enough for her. We parted after that conversation on a good note... to her, anyway. In the end she told me she had been worried about seeing me but pleased our conversation went well and that I'd changed for the better. I told her age had turned me into a better version of myself and thanked her for the complement. I saw that look in her eye as we departed, you know the one, where if I'd asked her to my room she'd have accepted but I wasn't biting. I am a better version of myself, now a days, and she will never ever deserve that, again. She's a grandiose narcissist. I didn't know it 30 years ago but I've learned it since. There's no changing these people. We sure made a good kid, though. My sons future mother-in-law told me the next day, following the wedding and during the reception, that my son talks about me all the time and in the best light but never talks about his mother. I thought that was a weird statement and really didn't know how to respond accept to say, " My son has a very kind heart and your daughter is very lucky." I failed to mention his mother taught him to be brutal in battle which isn't such a bad thing for a man. Rest assured he will never abuse that power because of my example.

I have empathy for Johnny and his kids, and I do believe him. Her recordings alone prove that at best they were equally abusive and more likely, she abused him verbally and physically and felt abused by him when he would leave (she's terrified of abandonment).
