I really like your video; but please get yourself a splitting base. Use a really big piece of wood, then set the one you want to split on top of it and split it there. It might seem like you lose some of your swing that way, but it really makes a difference. Two-swing pieces break on the first swing. Just use the tree's fattest/heaviest piece, then split it last on the ground if you don't have one you use all the time. Nice saw, awesome maul. Your entire family looks really fit.
Thanks for the comments. I've tried it all man including with a base for splitting and for me, I'm best on the ground with no base. I've come to see splitting wood like holding a fork at the dinner table; there's no right or wrong...just what works.

5 Stars from the Bailey's Director of Marketing, Van! Thanks for sharing.
Great song as a monster snow storm is coming there is no better song to listen to. I have about 5 cords of oak ready for the stove :)
Been cutting and burning Ash here in Danville. Throws good heat. Gonna miss that tree in the future.
it keeps my guitar pickin' arm in good shape for sure.
Nothing like a oak fire... especially on a snowy night looking out the window, sipping cocoa... thanks for the songs that bring me back to my roots.
