Beards take time. For everyone. That is part of the reward for growing it. Grow it in confidence! Join the community for support if you don't feel it in your personal life (small comments from friends and family hurt, we have all gotten them). Beard on!

Welcome to the new beardos out there! I think it’s really easy to fall into that trap of comparing your beard to others you see around you, in the workplace, online, etc. By nature, we’re competitive-and some may want to give up if their beard wasn’t what they saw in their mind’s eye. One of the most important things to remember, and a direct quote from Dan C-Someone out there would kill for your beard! Wear it with pride and confidence!

It was important for me to understand that different parts of my beard grew at different rates. Places that I thought would be patchy ended up growing in hair.

Some of the qualities a "good" beard projects are patience, dedication, and self-confidence.
They are no longer stereotyped for slackers, hippies, and the homeless

I do at times, want to rush my beard growth since I burnt most of it by accident. It took me basically 4 years to grow to my collarbone. At the same time, I enjoy caring and watching my beard grow. I really don't think there are beard growth products out there that would force anyone's genes, but I do take two beard growth capsules to keep the beard healthy along with eating clean as much as possible. I am not an exercising man at all even though I have heard exercising helps. I was at a barbershop once and someone made a comment, "I'd kill to have your beard!" That's an excellent compliment I received so enjoy and don't feel rushed. Everyone will have that length that is aimed eventually.

Patience was harder at the beginning. Once my beard reached 4 inches or so and I "just my feeling" felt I really had a beard going patience got easier. Now I'm at over 5 inches and I don't think about the growth as much, again just my feelings.

Patience is most certainly a virtue and a critical component of getting the beard you want. You must also muster up some confidence and bring that with you for the ride. If you are serious about growing a beard then consider the time it takes to be an intentional (key word) investment in yourself. You will be rewarded for that and not just with rocking a new beard. Watching channels like this will help you to stay positive, informed, and supported throughout the journey. Great message and content , Dan C!

Oil and butters definitely help the feel of my beard. I didn't know a whole lot about them in the beginning of my beard journey. Started with Honest Amish, my first brard oil. I now have 6 or 7 that I use in rotation. Also good styling habits have greatly helped as well. Lastly I am now using Biotin and gummies from Beard Octane.
Dan C, your videos have greatly helped me with learning about beard habits and grooming along with products reviews. GOD BLESS THIS CHANNEL MY FRIEND🙏

If you live in a place that does not get a lot of sunshine, you may benefit from taking vitamin d3. I live where we don't get enough so I started taking a supplement, and immediately noticed my nails and hair growing faster. Another nutrient that likely most are low on is silica, I notice a faster nail growth with it too. I'm not an expert but this is what worked for me.

Personally, there have been times where I've caught myself thinking, "what would happen if I start over?" Remember that everyone wishes to for a bigger beard, faster growing beard etc... The people who have those bigger beards also wish for something different about their beard also. I can honestly say I wish I had appreciated my beards growth process more than I did. I would have done more things differently than wish for more hair, more faster.
Appreciate the process, listen to your beard, respond to your beard and ask questions when needed. You will learn more about your beard and what does and doesn't work. Who knows, you may figure out your own "tips and tricks" to share with community. 👊

Those guys that are around 20 years old it just takes some time you’ll be surprised how much it will fill in within a couple years. Mine looks so much better at 26 than the little bit I could grow at 20, 21, 22 years old. Some things are worth waiting for.

I believe that if you like how your beard looks who cares what others peoples beards look like it’s your beard, I like how my beard looks and I don’t compare my beard to other peoples beards, I believe that if people compare their beards to others, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
It’s OK to say oh he’s got a nice beard or oh, I like your beard, but when you start comparing and trying to 100% copy someone’s beard, that is were problems happen.

I also need to get better with the exercise thing. I'm on my feet and very active at work but I've heard that you're not supposed to count that as your workout because your body gets used to it. I'm not sure how true that is, but I can see it.

    Hey Dan
I’m glad I stumbled across your channel and I’m pleased to say that I’ve learnt a thing or two about beards ever since. Btw, please advise a good beard oil for beard growth. I don’t have facial hair at all on my chin and there is less on my upper cheek area. It grows in patches. Right now I’m using Arlo’s pro growth since the last 40-60 days now and haven’t seen major changes. You reckon I should start using minoxidil? I would love to hear from you mate. Been trying to grow a beard since 2016 and I’m 27 now 😞

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  3 года назад +1

Unfortunately there is no real growth oil. All quality oils will do about the same. Arlos is pretty terrible. Check this video out before using minoxidil ruclips.net/video/Gm_1JZ1b6mg/видео.html

I have serious beard envy, some of my cousins have really full beards and I have patches, and I have some areas that aren't as thick and my cheek lined don't come up far enough and minoxidil only made a small difference, but my coverage was decent to start with.
I've been on rogaine 5% for about a year for my hair and beard very consistently, derma rolling here and there, I'm hoping a doctor will prescribe 15%

Hey Teach, I left a comment on George Bruno and recommended that you should interview him once he finished his water only method and I thought there would be no one else than Dan C Bearded to ask the right questions, such as internal and external methods needed to this regiment. He seems like he's up for it, could you reach out to him and maybe decide a date for that collab/interview?

Seeing the main points are covered here just K.I.S.S. Follow what is said here and keep it simple. Everyone is different so everyone's beard is going to grow at different rates but let it grow follow the rules outlined here and you'll get there. In my third month and my beard is looking alot more impressive than I thought it would be. Also take monthly photos. You can track your beard progress and see how far you've come from when you started. Good luck to those going for their first beard or like me having another go.
