Spot on DanC. Also, get rid of preconceived notions of what you think your beard should look like and let it go to where it wants to go. This is my beard. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Rock whatcha got.
Welcome to the new beardos out there! I think it’s really easy to fall into that trap of comparing your beard to others you see around you, in the workplace, online, etc. By nature, we’re competitive-and some may want to give up if their beard wasn’t what they saw in their mind’s eye. One of the most important things to remember, and a direct quote from Dan C-Someone out there would kill for your beard! Wear it with pride and confidence!
It was important for me to understand that different parts of my beard grew at different rates. Places that I thought would be patchy ended up growing in hair.
Some of the qualities a "good" beard projects are patience, dedication, and self-confidence. They are no longer stereotyped for slackers, hippies, and the homeless
Preach it teach! You have to be patient with this process. Like so many great things in life, you have to be patient or you'll never see the results you want.
A healthy beard is like any other healthy relationship... the more you put in to the care for that relationship the better the well-being...#Staybearded
I do at times, want to rush my beard growth since I burnt most of it by accident. It took me basically 4 years to grow to my collarbone. At the same time, I enjoy caring and watching my beard grow. I really don't think there are beard growth products out there that would force anyone's genes, but I do take two beard growth capsules to keep the beard healthy along with eating clean as much as possible. I am not an exercising man at all even though I have heard exercising helps. I was at a barbershop once and someone made a comment, "I'd kill to have your beard!" That's an excellent compliment I received so enjoy and don't feel rushed. Everyone will have that length that is aimed eventually.
Taking a daily multivitamin goes along way too. I’m right at a year and this channel has been the biggest help and a place of encouragement when I was down about my beard. Just remember wards are like snow flakes yours is yours and like no one else’s. We can’t cut em to the same shape but they are different. Love your snowflake make it your own and proudly rock it. Your pretty much a star belly sneetch when you rock the beard lol.
I had no idea the beard community was so positive and uplifting! IMO You are the poster-boy for all the encouragement I have gained from this community on RUclips. Thanks for all you do.
Patience was harder at the beginning. Once my beard reached 4 inches or so and I "just my feeling" felt I really had a beard going patience got easier. Now I'm at over 5 inches and I don't think about the growth as much, again just my feelings.
I’m 20 years old and have been growing my beard for about 16 months now. Your channel has been so helpful on my journey! New beardsmen, do not be discouraged. I didn’t have a fully grown beard until about 7-8 months of growing. It just takes time.
Extremely well put! I used to get sidetracked and discouraged by guys flexing their "perfect" beards online, but I've come to embrace what I have and learn that patience is one of the best gifts of the beard journey. Glad to have found your channel early in my growing this time around, because it's made a huge difference in my self-perception of it!
Playoff Beard your speaking my language brotha! Your tips and videos have been my guideline on my own journey for over a year my brother. Thank you greatly Dan 👊🏼
When I started my beard journey in November, I went 2 weeks without knowing anything about beard care. I’ve learned so much from you, Bthebarber, Bearded Existence and others. I’ve developed a daily, nightly and weekly routine that has my growing beard looking healthy and feeling good. Thanks for weekly tips. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s appreciated.
Thanks Dan for another great informative video. We made it through, no shave November, and don't shave December, no we have to get through, just grow January.
Like a couple other people mentioned, I was lucky to find this channel at the beginning of my beard journey so I started with really good advice and applied those daily habits. Follow this man's advice and you will end up with a nice healthy beard!!
Great video Dan ... as always, educational and inspiring. I'm growing my first real beard (I turned 60 this year) and it has taken me a couple of months to reach a point that I look in the mirror and go "Damn, I like where this is headed!" Your videos inspired me to stick with it, not give up, and enjoy this process, and your channel has introduced me to a brotherhood of guys that support and encourage each other. I have to say, the right products have made a WORLD of difference, so thanks for the guidance and education that you provide. Keep growing my friends!!
I am so glad I found this channel and Dan's Facebook page just as I was starting the first beard in my 52 years of life. Both have helped me tremendously and both are full of a bunch of guys who offer advice and encouragement. I'm about 4 months in on my chin which is the longest I've ever gone and 3 months in on my face and neck and I never in my life I would go that long without shaving but I am loving this journey I'm on and a lot of the reason are the men here and on Facebook. Thanks, Dan and everyone else!
Definitely using the proper beard products and diet and exercise make a big difference. I really love using beard butter at night. Using a heated brush has worked wonders for me.
Patience is most certainly a virtue and a critical component of getting the beard you want. You must also muster up some confidence and bring that with you for the ride. If you are serious about growing a beard then consider the time it takes to be an intentional (key word) investment in yourself. You will be rewarded for that and not just with rocking a new beard. Watching channels like this will help you to stay positive, informed, and supported throughout the journey. Great message and content , Dan C!
Dan you totally forgot to talk about hydration. I suppose it would be included in eating healthy, but I totally thought that hydration would be at the top of your list. 😀
Oil and butters definitely help the feel of my beard. I didn't know a whole lot about them in the beginning of my beard journey. Started with Honest Amish, my first brard oil. I now have 6 or 7 that I use in rotation. Also good styling habits have greatly helped as well. Lastly I am now using Biotin and gummies from Beard Octane. Dan C, your videos have greatly helped me with learning about beard habits and grooming along with products reviews. GOD BLESS THIS CHANNEL MY FRIEND🙏
I am a new beardsman and I am only one month into it.. out of the super itchy stage.. and im only about 3 days into watching your content... I've learned alot and still learning so thank you for your videos they are a huge help! Also a huge eye opener as I thought it was as simple as don't shave and just brush it out haha... my first oils should be arriving this week! Next for a good wash and some butter!
Beard care is self care, I absolutely love it! Always here if you have questions. Thanks for all the comments, and keep them coming! Make sure you are subscribed if you are not. New videos every Wed, Fri, Sun at 8a est. Livestreams every Mon and Wed at 9p est
cheers Dan C, yeah if from new Zealand, we dont really have a lock down but i started to grow my beard anyway . its coming along nicely i think and have been told . its good seeing your channel on all the tips and information.
I've been clean shaven probably since i was 15. Now 35 I decided to grow a beard. I think I must be very lucky as my beard is growing extremely fast and wish I had done it years ago. I've been watching Dan C from the very start of my journey so I feel I've been using the correct products such as oil balm and butter. Come Christmas I will be 3 months of growth and I look like a completely different person for the better.
Thanks again Dan C I have started growing my beard all over again and I know the tips you share in all your videos is going to really help people like me in our quest to growing a great and a healthy beard ... Stay bearded and stay positive as always ...
Thanks for the video Dan. Being patient, exercising and eating well are not the easiest. Life lessons we should all practice regardless of having a beard or not. I do however, love my morning and evening beard routine. That’s the easy part for me.
New beardsmen just remember it takes time! Stay with it, dive into this wonderful community for support and guidance, and make sure to subscribe to the Trusted Teacher Dan C Bearded. I once was in your same shoes. I started my journey with Dan and have been able to grow a healthy beard I am very happy with, and then it all lead to Bearded Coast! You can do it my friends :)
Patience is very important. Let it grow & don’t start “tidying it up”. So many beards are wrecked this way. It should be left alone for a minimum of 3 months. Ideally leave it alone for 6 months.
What I do is moderate calisthenics exercising, walking and running every day and in my experience it made mine grow faster. 😀 And drink lots of water!!!
Great video Dan! This is a nice compilation of info that can be found in some of your other videos. Great for some newer viewers who need some great info quickly.
If you live in a place that does not get a lot of sunshine, you may benefit from taking vitamin d3. I live where we don't get enough so I started taking a supplement, and immediately noticed my nails and hair growing faster. Another nutrient that likely most are low on is silica, I notice a faster nail growth with it too. I'm not an expert but this is what worked for me.
Dont trim early on... yes, your gonna go theough stages where the beard and neck look crazy but if you weather the storm that will build a better foundation for a fuller more amazing beard!
Faster beard growth means reducing breakage and splits. Apply enough oil to nourish and LUBRICATE the whiskers. Properly lubed hairs don't pull and BREAK with combing.
Patience is definitely key. I’ve found my awkward phase to come between the 3 and 6 month mark. Very worth it to wait it out 👍🏽. I even ended up reaching the level of some of the beards I envied early on
Another awesome video my friend .. so very much appreciate all of your help and advice on so many topics concerning our beard health and success with growing our face manes !!!
I'm quite late to this channel. But there is definitely a wealth of knowledge & information in this & the other video's I've watched so far. Thank you Dan C Bearded & a happy New Year too you & the family
Personally, there have been times where I've caught myself thinking, "what would happen if I start over?" Remember that everyone wishes to for a bigger beard, faster growing beard etc... The people who have those bigger beards also wish for something different about their beard also. I can honestly say I wish I had appreciated my beards growth process more than I did. I would have done more things differently than wish for more hair, more faster. Appreciate the process, listen to your beard, respond to your beard and ask questions when needed. You will learn more about your beard and what does and doesn't work. Who knows, you may figure out your own "tips and tricks" to share with community. 👊
Great video! Been using the beard butter alternative from another video from you ( oil and balm ) and it really changed my beards health and feeling in the morning. Im only 22 but already rocking a full beard 🤘
I know just growing older even a couple years older has helped me a lot I can grow so much more the older I get. Those guys that are around 20 years old it just takes some time you’ll be surprised how much it will fill in within a couple years. Mine looks so much better at 26 than the little bit I could grow at 20, 21, 22 years old. Some things are worth waiting for.
I feel like my beard growth has increased since I got on board with the cold rise. Not sure if it's less shedding or faster growth or just in my head but anyway you slice it I feel like it's growing faster.
Ignorance is easy, knowledge is power, patience is hard. If you want a DanC quality beard, don’t be ignorant, increase your knowledge by learning, and just have patience! Let it grow, stay bearded & stay positive!
I believe that if you like how your beard looks who cares what others peoples beards look like it’s your beard, I like how my beard looks and I don’t compare my beard to other peoples beards, I believe that if people compare their beards to others, you’re setting yourself up for failure. It’s OK to say oh he’s got a nice beard or oh, I like your beard, but when you start comparing and trying to 100% copy someone’s beard, that is were problems happen.
If you're new also join Dan's Facebook group called commands corner Amazing group of guys totally supportive of beards and just a lot of fun! First time growing my beard out and it's so healthy and just a joy and highlight of this very difficult year. The advice I've gotten here has allowed me to keep the beard and have an awesome beard and mustache too I must say! Beard on brothers!
Dan...i love your vids and you have had a couple of folks with white beards on before can we get a couple of them to give pointers for what type of oil and butters they use. Stay positive
Thanks for your videos keep up the great work. I do have a question how do you trim your beard the part below your ears and the upper part of you neck? I can’t see back there to trim back there.
I also need to get better with the exercise thing. I'm on my feet and very active at work but I've heard that you're not supposed to count that as your workout because your body gets used to it. I'm not sure how true that is, but I can see it.
What do you think of the ingredients of this beard shampoo - Purified Aqua, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycerin, polyquaternium-10, Citric Acid, Phenoxy Ethanol?
Hey Dan I’m glad I stumbled across your channel and I’m pleased to say that I’ve learnt a thing or two about beards ever since. Btw, please advise a good beard oil for beard growth. I don’t have facial hair at all on my chin and there is less on my upper cheek area. It grows in patches. Right now I’m using Arlo’s pro growth since the last 40-60 days now and haven’t seen major changes. You reckon I should start using minoxidil? I would love to hear from you mate. Been trying to grow a beard since 2016 and I’m 27 now 😞
Unfortunately there is no real growth oil. All quality oils will do about the same. Arlos is pretty terrible. Check this video out before using minoxidil ruclips.net/video/Gm_1JZ1b6mg/видео.html
I have serious beard envy, some of my cousins have really full beards and I have patches, and I have some areas that aren't as thick and my cheek lined don't come up far enough and minoxidil only made a small difference, but my coverage was decent to start with. I've been on rogaine 5% for about a year for my hair and beard very consistently, derma rolling here and there, I'm hoping a doctor will prescribe 15%
Hello Mr Dan as always good information, about excercise what kind of excercise that you do and what you recommend for stay healthy for bearded man, thank you 🙏
Hey Teach, I left a comment on George Bruno and recommended that you should interview him once he finished his water only method and I thought there would be no one else than Dan C Bearded to ask the right questions, such as internal and external methods needed to this regiment. He seems like he's up for it, could you reach out to him and maybe decide a date for that collab/interview?
@@DanCBearded it's a good show, I usually watch it after it's live, but I was trying to set up an epic interview with you and the sultan, I think you would be the best to ask him the right questions regarding this water only method. But I'll send him your email and tell him to get in contact with you? Take care Dan and thanks for all the advice
Seeing the main points are covered here just K.I.S.S. Follow what is said here and keep it simple. Everyone is different so everyone's beard is going to grow at different rates but let it grow follow the rules outlined here and you'll get there. In my third month and my beard is looking alot more impressive than I thought it would be. Also take monthly photos. You can track your beard progress and see how far you've come from when you started. Good luck to those going for their first beard or like me having another go.
Have you ever covered those derma rollers with the needles that is supposed to stimulate blood circulation? If so can you send a link? If not, would love to hear what you have to say. Thank you trusted teacher.
Best low scent or light scented beard butter? Another suggestion for a lower cost and one just normally what you would suggest? And same for wash. Thanks
I’ve found growing a beard super easy following Dan C videos, before watching Dan’s videos it was disaster after disaster I always ruined my beard when trimming in a style I liked plus my beard was brittle from using shampoo and hair conditioner
I can't seem to find a recommended beard barber in my area and refuse to let just anyone do it so my wife has been watching trim videos to learn how to trim my beard. Just an idea for anyone who has a wife and would feel comfortable letting them do it. I know that won't work for some.
I always say you know your beard better than anyone else! Try trimming it yourself, invest in yourself. If you mess it up, at least you can learn from it

Love this comment Andrew!
I was lucky I found you at the start of my beard journey!!!
That is so humbling to hear!
Spot on DanC. Also, get rid of preconceived notions of what you think your beard should look like and let it go to where it wants to go. This is my beard. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Rock whatcha got.
Ohhh, well said! as always. Thank you steve!
You are the man Doug, thank you for everything you do!
It was important for me to understand that different parts of my beard grew at different rates. Places that I thought would be patchy ended up growing in hair.
Great point!

Oh mannn, well said!! I love this comment
Indeed! I'm glad public opinion has shifted!
Great words bro!

Love it, say it louder!
One of favorite My Beard mentors 💪💯💯
Thank you!!
Oh absolutely!
Patience and long term healthy habits were the hardest pills for me to swallow. But. They. Work. Thanks for the continued reminder.
Well said!!
Fantastic comment Matt!
Just let it grow and go with it rock what ya got!
Amen!
I had no idea the beard community was so positive and uplifting! IMO You are the poster-boy for all the encouragement I have gained from this community on RUclips. Thanks for all you do.
That’s an awesome comment, thank you Sam!!
Good video with a lot of good information you especially highlighted the most important thing: PATIENCE Because you can't rush time.
💯💯💯 and thank you!
I count beard growth in 3 month periods. You just have to wait for the prize and that makes it even more worthwhile. Thanks Dan.
Really great experience comment Scott!
Patience was harder at the beginning. Once my beard reached 4 inches or so and I "just my feeling" felt I really had a beard going patience got easier. Now I'm at over 5 inches and I don't think about the growth as much, again just my feelings.
I agree! Maintaining patience is more difficult during the awkward stages.
Sooo very true!
I’m 20 years old and have been growing my beard for about 16 months now. Your channel has been so helpful on my journey! New beardsmen, do not be discouraged. I didn’t have a fully grown beard until about 7-8 months of growing. It just takes time.

Thanks Dan for another great informative video. We made it through, no shave November, and don't shave December, no we have to get through, just grow January.
Don't shave December, I like that!
Like a couple other people mentioned, I was lucky to find this channel at the beginning of my beard journey so I started with really good advice and applied those daily habits. Follow this man's advice and you will end up with a nice healthy beard!!

I'm a very impatient person and I am going on almost 4 years with a beard. So if I can do it anyone can!
Heck yes, it will teach you patience
Great one Dan. Beard Butter has been a game changer for me.
It really is!!
I'm 10 months in, going for a yeard!
That’s awesome!!

Simply just have to rock what you got! Your beard is unique to you. The more you compare the more discouraged you will be come. Stop it! Just be you.
Say it louder!
Keep it oiled and buttered and let time do it’s thing. You can’t rush perfection.
Well said!

You da man!
Excellent video! Thanks for making it. I know I need to do a better job prioritizing these aspects in my life. It’s definitely a mental hurdle for me.
I hear that for sure!
Nailed it Daniel 👌 amazing well thought out video. This channel and its content has helped me grow the beard I have now.
Thank you! I still remember the days of you and your son
Faster beard growth means reducing breakage and splits. Apply enough oil to nourish and LUBRICATE the whiskers. Properly lubed hairs don't pull and BREAK with combing.
Properly lubed and healthy hairs! If you are killing your body from within, no oil can save that
Patience is definitely key. I’ve found my awkward phase to come between the 3 and 6 month mark. Very worth it to wait it out 👍🏽. I even ended up reaching the level of some of the beards I envied early on

I never used to put beard butter in my beard before I went to bed. But since I've been doing that now my beard feels better in the morning.
Patience, young Beardawans. 🤘🏻
I'm quite late to this channel. But there is definitely a wealth of knowledge & information in this & the other video's I've watched so far. Thank you Dan C Bearded & a happy New Year too you & the family
It's genetics to the point that you shouldn't consider yourself a failure when your beard isn't exactly like one you see on someone else.
Patience is key
Facts!
Love this comment Bobby!
Great video!
Been using the beard butter alternative from another video from you ( oil and balm ) and it really changed my beards health and feeling in the morning.
Im only 22 but already rocking a full beard 🤘
awesome to hear Andy!
Great info Dan!
Beard oil really helped me go beyond the #4 guard... No itch
yesss, so true!
Totally worth it!
I’m about a month into growing! Looking forward to the future
Awesome, keep it up Anthony!
I feel like my beard growth has increased since I got on board with the cold rise. Not sure if it's less shedding or faster growth or just in my head but anyway you slice it I feel like it's growing faster.
Awesome tip!
Great tips! Thank you!
Great video. It's the number one question on beard related sub reddits.
Oh I believe it! Hopefully they link this lol
Ignorance is easy, knowledge is power, patience is hard. If you want a DanC quality beard, don’t be ignorant, increase your knowledge by learning, and just have patience! Let it grow, stay bearded & stay positive!
Thank you Sea Dub!
Beard envy can be a problem, absolutely
If you're new also join Dan's Facebook group called commands corner Amazing group of guys totally supportive of beards and just a lot of fun! First time growing my beard out and it's so healthy and just a joy and highlight of this very difficult year. The advice I've gotten here has allowed me to keep the beard and have an awesome beard and mustache too I must say! Beard on brothers!
Thank you Drew, you are awesome!
Once again Dan great information worth trying
Thank you Henry!
Dan...i love your vids and you have had a couple of folks with white beards on before can we get a couple of them to give pointers for what type of oil and butters they use. Stay positive
Stay positive!
Beard butter over night has really made a difference on how soft my beard feels .
Heck yes!
Thanks for your videos keep up the great work. I do have a question how do you trim your beard the part below your ears and the upper part of you neck? I can’t see back there to trim back there.
Not normally. Maybe once a year with just a slight trim
Live Bearded has an excellent vitamin supplement for beard hair. I use it daily.
Awesome!
I also need to get better with the exercise thing. I'm on my feet and very active at work but I've heard that you're not supposed to count that as your workout because your body gets used to it. I'm not sure how true that is, but I can see it.
I agree Adam!
Hey Dan
I’m glad I stumbled across your channel and I’m pleased to say that I’ve learnt a thing or two about beards ever since.
Keep at it!
@@DanCBearded thanks Dan your a real one
Hello Mr Dan as always good information, about excercise what kind of excercise that you do and what you recommend for stay healthy for bearded man, thank you 🙏
Big muscles are better, like your legs. Squats and lunges
@@DanCBearded thank you Mr Dan i will definitely do that exercise 👍
Hey Teach, I left a comment on George Bruno and recommended that you should interview him once he finished his water only method and I thought there would be no one else than Dan C Bearded to ask the right questions, such as internal and external methods needed to this regiment. He seems like he's up for it, could you reach out to him and maybe decide a date for that collab/interview?
Thanks for being in the live the other night!
Grow what u have and be happy with it
Absolutely!
I try my best to exercise and eat well but it does get hard at times. I want to pick up the cologne peptides at some point!
Cologne peptides sound interesting 🤣
Seeing the main points are covered here just K.I.S.S. Follow what is said here and keep it simple. Everyone is different so everyone's beard is going to grow at different rates but let it grow follow the rules outlined here and you'll get there. In my third month and my beard is looking alot more impressive than I thought it would be. Also take monthly photos. You can track your beard progress and see how far you've come from when you started. Good luck to those going for their first beard or like me having another go.
Love that!
Thanks
Check beard octane neutral for all of the above. DANC10 discount there
@@DanCBearded thank you
But I’m bald with a solid full beard🤷🏻♂️ still trying to get it to Gandalf stage however.
You got it!!
I’ve found growing a beard super easy following Dan C videos, before watching Dan’s videos it was disaster after disaster I always ruined my beard when trimming in a style I liked plus my beard was brittle from using shampoo and hair conditioner
So cool to hear!
Hi Dan, could you please give me a link to your favorite beard butters?
Absolutely! Check the description of this video and it will have a list of my favorites: ruclips.net/video/QBl8mKf1e4M/видео.html
Perfect video, barber just butchered my beard. Took about 2 inches off when I asked for a light maintenance trim.
Find a better barber man!
@@dylanbeschoner only a few in my area doing beard trims right now. Will probably just start doing my own.
@@derekcaliman7690 not a bad idea
I can't seem to find a recommended beard barber in my area and refuse to let just anyone do it so my wife has been watching trim videos to learn how to trim my beard. Just an idea for anyone who has a wife and would feel comfortable letting them do it. I know that won't work for some.
I always say you know your beard better than anyone else! Try trimming it yourself, invest in yourself. If you mess it up, at least you can learn from it
