My eldest son is 29 and has one of the patchiest beards I’ve ever seen but he seems happy with it. He must get his genes from his mums side of the family, because he sure don’t have mine 😂
I’m 25 and almost have a full beard and yes with age I have seen more and more hair follicles pop up in my face and my beard getting denser I was a late bloomer. It takes time for some guys, others have full beard very early on. Others will never grow a full beard!
I’m 22 and my beard just started to darken. It’s coming in so fast it feels like I can feel it growing on my chin. Every week it’s looking a little better but not good enough to let it go.

I agree with the whole age point; however, I’m 36 and my beard is getting thicker/fuller. In my 20s, I had a thin patchy beard, and it’s not until now that I can grow it out fully. So, ethnicity, age and genes do play a role, but so does your individual circumstances. When in doubt, grow it out 🧔🏻

Had a weak mustache and some chin hair come in at 16. Jaw and cheek hair didn't really come in until my early 20's but it was thin and patchy. It wasn't until I was 25 that I could let it grow out and call it a beard. It was still a little patchy but I let it grow out and the length covered up the patchyness. Im 30 now and the patches have definitely filled in more in the past 5 years. Im pretty satisfied with it now but I'm still no Chuck Norris.

So just a word of encouragement for anyone who happens to spot this! I first got 3 mustache hairs on either side of my top lip at 15 years old and nothing else until I turned 18. I got a bunch of jaw and sideburn growth and it looked like a crazy neckbeard. At 19, I got more hair on the bottom of my cheeks, mustache and chin and could grow a decent but patchy Hollywoodian. At 20, more hair popped up out of nowhere on my lower cheeks. Now at 21, I grow everywhere except my connectors and im still waiting for some more cheek hair. Thankfully, my dad had a full beard at 25ish and my cousin has a big beard and he is 27. Check your lineage now so you could see your rough potential. For example. my moms dad and family has a weak beard but my dad's family have awesome beards and I got a mix of both(thats why my cheeks are patchy probably).. Keep on Growing!
nice you give me hope. I am 21 and I can only really grow some hari on my chin and on the sides. Its annoying because I have to shave like every or every second day cuz otherwise it looks awful xD I have my dads hair and he can grow a beard so I hope I will too

My beard has still been filling in. I am 30 and I am FINALLY starting to see a beard that is actually filling in. I have always had issues with my bridges not being defined. Luckily I have a very thick mustache and neck beard so now that my cheeks have been filling it, it has started to cover my lack of hair on my bridges. My beard kinda went the other way around when I was 17-18 I could grow a preety decent leprechaun beard where everything was on my jaw and cheeks, but I got absolutely nothing on the moustache area until I hit 20.
He’s right a beard can do wonders especially if you dress it up well. Also Rogaine is a game changer for facial hair. I couldn’t grow a beard, now I have a full beard.

I’m 27, and I’ve been growing a decent beard since I was about 18. It’s always grown way faster in two spots on my neck. In just the last couple of months, I’ve noticed that it has kind of evened out across the whole beard area. My beard looks much more full and even then it did a year ago. I generally keep it pretty short, and have to touch it up regularly because of uneven growth. I think I could actually start to let it get some length now that it grows more evenly. It’s crazy how much my growth has changed in just the last three months.

So I’m 24, going to be 25 soon. My moustache is weak (LOTS of peach fuzz but only like a strip of actual hairs) my chin is strong, and I have mad neckbeard coverage (no I don’t grow it out lol) I have sideburns as well and some cheek coverage (kinda like mutton chops). On my cheeks you can see the outline of a nice beard shape but it just won’t seem to branch out to the moustache area. Luckily my hairs are black/dark brown and I HAVE noticed a lot of new growth every year. To put it in perspective, I truly had basically no hair on my face until I was 21 or so. So great progress. I also have some back hair and a decent amount of chest and belly hair. Sorry for the wall of text but I’m wondering if there is hope for me to grow more facial hair over the next few years. Also in the areas that don’t have real facial hairs, it’s not bald, but rather covered in peach fuzz

Most men I see with a full beard are over 30 . unless they are middle eastern and have hairy genetics. a full beard is usually 30 and after that. I have a beard at 25 now BUT the small patch on sides of my mouth haven’t filled in yet, everything else is growing good pace

Indo-Europeans and Africans get rather good beards. Eastern asians and the closely related native americans dont get that good of a beard. But it is still individual.

But overall the African continent is quite beardy compared to native east asians, pacific islanders or native american populations. And I myself know several west africans, mostly Nigerians and Sierra Leonese, which all have at least decent beards. So the beard genetic can't be that bad over there either. After all in comparison many east asians, native americans, pacific islanders, ... cant grow a beard at all.

i started getting facial hair at 14 and by facial hair i mean 3 or 4 hairs on my chin. my chin would continue to grow denser and is the only place i can really grow thick beard hair to date. only about last year (18yo) was i able to get some growth where my mustache is and where the soul patch area is. its very very light growth and is barely noticeable at all. and my side burns barely started coming in about a month ago. very patchy might i add. im currently 19, pissed off at my genetics considering my eldest brother was able to grow a full beard at 17. fuckin hell

it means that your hair haven't fully matured there yet. If you have hair there, it'll get darker and thicker. don't worry. 17 is very young! you'll defenitely get there. sadly we can't fast forward time ;)

It could get better by 30. Just because most men who can grow good beards can do so by around 25 doesn't mean that all can yet. Be patient. Meanwhile, be happy with what you've got.

Well I’m 19, turning 20 in two months. My beard started ”growing” when I was 17 but currently all I have is like a pirate beard, it goes from my ears down my jaw and under my chin with some patches here and there. I only had a small mustache and a bit of chin hair at 19.. cheeks and jaw hair came in in my early 20s but very thin and patchy so I shaved it. When I was 25 it was still not perfect but it was at least full enough to be called a beard. Im 30 now and still have some patchyness but I let it grow out so long that the patchyness gets covered up pretty well.

Hi Prasanna! Yes, beard growth can be very strong in older people. It really depends on the genetics - if your family are still able to grow beards well into their 50's it is likely you will be able to too! Wait another few years and your connectors may come in - it takes a while for everything to get connected!

My dad, who is 55 says that his beard grows 3x as fast than it did when he was in his 30s or 40s.

My beard kinda went the other way around when I was 17-18 I could grow a preety decent leprechaun beard where everything was on my jaw and cheeks, but I got absolutely nothing on the moustache area until I hit 20.

He’s right a beard can do wonders especially if you dress it up well. Also Rogaine is a game changer for facial hair. I couldn’t grow a beard, now I have a full beard.

@@four20braiseit36 It took about a month for me to notice real results, 3 months I noticed a lot of progress. After 5 months my beard connected but it shedded a lot a month later. I kept with it and developed a beard routine and 6 months after that I had a full beard. So about a year for a full beard. My side effects was fatigue, weight gain, and acne. I stopped using it about a year ago, and my beard is even fuller

Ive always had a thin mustache since i was 15 years old. Started to get very thin and patchy hairs on my chin and on my soulpatch as 19 years old barely noticable.. iam now 21 and I'm starting to get a goatee that is mixed with terminal and velus hairs.. I also got some on my neck now aswell and like a few on my sides.. my brothers has a beard so I hope I Can grow one when I'm 25

I'm 38 and have a nice full beard but the guys I push shopping carts with at my job at Sam's Club are all 16, 17, and 18 years olds. I am surprised they all have facial hair but they have minimal hair coverage. Like just a goatee or some hair on the jaw line. I told them it takes years to covor the whole face. These boys are super strong and athletic 👍
Im 18 and have a full beard and its about 6-7 inches long with no patches whatsoever, i was looking into beard contests or start doing crazy looks on the beard but it kind of stopped growing and i want sort of a viking beard like super long but it’s slowly stopped getting longer, Hopefully within the coming ages it gets even longer

I’m 27, and I’ve been growing a decent beard since I was about 18. It’s always grown way faster in two spots on my neck.
In just the last couple of months, I’ve noticed that it has kind of evened out across the whole beard area. My beard looks much more full and even then it did a year ago.
I generally keep it pretty short, and have to touch it up regularly because of uneven growth. I think I could actually start to let it get some length now that it grows more evenly.
It’s crazy how much my growth has changed in just the last three months.

My mother told me my dad always wanted to grow a beard when he was younger but could not…not until he was in his 50’s. I’m now 48 and six weeks in (on my third attempt)and my patches are starting to fill in. Greg Brazinski from Beardbrand couldn’t grow a beard till his late 40’s, early 50’s. Some of us are just late bloomers

I’m in my late 50’s. I can grow a mustache and goatee no problem. It’s the sides of my face I can’t grow much. Very patchy. It’s my genes that cause the lack of beard growth. Thanks Dad 😒. As I get older I lose hair where I want it…and gain hair where I don’t 😡

I'm 21 years old and I have thick hair on my chin, mustache, cheeks, all the parts of a full beard.
The only problem is that none of it connects to each other. 🙄
So I’m 24, going to be 25 soon. My moustache is weak (LOTS of peach fuzz but only like a strip of actual hairs) my chin is strong, and I have mad neckbeard coverage (no I don’t grow it out lol) I have sideburns as well and some cheek coverage (kinda like mutton chops). On my cheeks you can see the outline of a nice beard shape but it just won’t seem to branch out to the moustache area. Luckily my hairs are black/dark brown and I HAVE noticed a lot of new growth every year. To put it in perspective, I truly had basically no hair on my face until I was 21 or so. So great progress. I also have some back hair and a decent amount of chest and belly hair.
Sorry for the wall of text but I’m wondering if there is hope for me to grow more facial hair over the next few years. Also in the areas that don’t have real facial hairs, it’s not bald, but rather covered in peach fuzz

I'm 18 with a sparse beard not a patchy one it's coming in slowly. My dad could basically be a beard model and so could my 17 year old brother.
Got super lucky with the beard growth, shaving from 12, could grow a full beard by 16 thats only gotten thicker with age. BUT im now 24 and veryy quickly going bald... swings and roundabouts with DHT.

The hair on our face stops growing at the end of puberty, it varies from person to person. But if you're an average person, you're about 18 and a half years old.
No lol after puberty I only had mustache sideburns, but in twenties I got neck hair way thicker and all over

Most men I see with a full beard are over 30 . unless they are middle eastern and have hairy genetics. a full beard is usually 30 and after that. I have a beard at 25 now BUT the small patch on sides of my mouth haven’t filled in yet, everything else is growing good pace

Indo-Europeans and Africans get rather good beards.
Eastern asians and the closely related native americans dont get that good of a beard. But it is still individual.

But overall the African continent is quite beardy compared to native east asians, pacific islanders or native american populations.
And I myself know several west africans, mostly Nigerians and Sierra Leonese, which all have at least decent beards. So the beard genetic can't be that bad over there either. After all in comparison many east asians, native americans, pacific islanders, ... cant grow a beard at all.

i started getting facial hair at 14 and by facial hair i mean 3 or 4 hairs on my chin. my chin would continue to grow denser and is the only place i can really grow thick beard hair to date. only about last year (18yo) was i able to get some growth where my mustache is and where the soul patch area is. its very very light growth and is barely noticeable at all. and my side burns barely started coming in about a month ago. very patchy might i add. im currently 19, pissed off at my genetics considering my eldest brother was able to grow a full beard at 17. fuckin hell

From 18-21 fully develop maybe even longer because dihydrotest it's for each person. It does get thicker and darker with age. 21 most likely finish and you peak at 30 but most beard grows in 18 19 to early 20s

it means that your hair haven't fully matured there yet. If you have hair there, it'll get darker and thicker. don't worry. 17 is very young! you'll defenitely get there. sadly we can't fast forward time ;)

It could get better by 30. Just because most men who can grow good beards can do so by around 25 doesn't mean that all can yet. Be patient. Meanwhile, be happy with what you've got.

Well I’m 19, turning 20 in two months. My beard started ”growing” when I was 17 but currently all I have is like a pirate beard, it goes from my ears down my jaw and under my chin with some patches here and there. My dad has no beard what so ever nor does the people on his side of the family, my mother’s side though has. My grandpa (from my mothers side) has a great beard. Do you reckon that my patch beard will get better by the age of 23-25 maybe? Otherwise I will keep shaving it off.

I only had a small mustache and a bit of chin hair at 19.. cheeks and jaw hair came in in my early 20s but very thin and patchy so I shaved it. When I was 25 it was still not perfect but it was at least full enough to be called a beard. Im 30 now and still have some patchyness but I let it grow out so long that the patchyness gets covered up pretty well.

All men in my family and with cousins and uncles and grandad and family like tht. Can all grow beards. Full perfect beards naturally at 18. My cousin had a full beard every since he was 15. We are all have MOST of our inheritage from Pakistan however we have some, turkey, iran and iraq. Im 17 btw
In addition every single one grows a full beard with no patches this applies to every cousin of mine as well as uncles and so on in my family tree (of course the ones with beards)

Hi Prasanna! Yes, beard growth can be very strong in older people. It really depends on the genetics - if your family are still able to grow beards well into their 50's it is likely you will be able to too! Wait another few years and your connectors may come in - it takes a while for everything to get connected!
