in icy's your often looking for brown/black accents, or bleeding riches red with some yellow(depending on lighting/cubing, this can include shallow red and yellow). any rock with yellow lining at each "crack" is 90% crap. i dont do rock/metal because it doesnt have the simple popcorn, undercooked popcorn, slabs of rock variety
00:40 they do get a waypoint that you can select from the navigation panel. thing is, you have to be basically very close to the planet to get those waypoints. by "very close" i mean basically above the rings, probably within 1Ly.
Hi there! I haven't tried modified HUD colours, but for me it usually doesn't take more than 15 minutes to find the first one inside a hot spot in a barely engineered Krait MK2
Nice video! Yeah I was also wondering why my 5 aberration blasters were only blowing off 1 chunk each instead of 5 each time. Was that just glitch that happend at the time or? Can I get a confirmation on that?
Hi, thanks for commenting! o7 Yeah, I posted this video on reddit and the CMDR crowd confirmed that it was patched. One abrasion blaster seems to be sufficient again!
I think both kinds of mining have been nerfed - I spent an hour to get one motherlode rock on my last trip with core miner, and my last trip to do normal mining I went to a void opal hotspot, burned through 230-ish prospector limpets and didn't get a single rock containing void opals.
Your black lines advice doesn't really work well for me. Been prospecting many black lined asteroids but not even one of them were motherlodes. Good guide video tho.
Try using the night vision. When you find a potential asteroid, turn on your NV and look for glowing fissures (they look like spider webs) if you find them, those are the real ones.
that tip about the black lines on it was really good, found one in like 30seconds after I knew which to skip lol

Great guide and tips. Just getting into mining and been wondering how to find the motherload asteroids.
This was helpful, thanks.
This was very helpful. I was only getting sub surface asteroids
i can sit for hours and search for cores but without luck... does maybe modified hud color affect the colors by scanning??

Make sure your hitting hot spots. Motherlode asteroids are shared in the server, check your systems activity history

1. Is you disarm seismic charge, fissure disappear
2. Didn't get how to get optimal power of charge
Great video.

Really helpful
No worries, my pleasure!
thank you, sir!
Unganked can you show some tricks to increase rank faster in federation or empire faction
@@keithmax5535 I'll check it out, in the meantime, here's a helpful forum thread: forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/increase-federation-rank-how.322973/
Does bringing 5 abrasion blasters to get 5 deposits from 1 still work, or it was patched?
Was patched, only one fragment!
ive scanned a ring where i know theres hotspots and none showed, some have said a glitch causes this, what you think?
How do you know?
You surface scan the ring. It does not have to have hot spots to have core asteroids, your just higher likley hood of that particular mineral
Is there a way to find hotspots in an asteroid belt
Good first video, might ad that ya cant find good asteroids in all rings mined.
Well, since they broke the pulse wave analyser, mining sucks.
y i need half an hour to find one
Second asteroid and a core? Can't seem to figure this out... :(
You'll learn to recognise the shapes in metal and ice rings soon \o/

im looking for tugsten seems rarer than void opals lol need tugsten for engineering
Haha, true, doesn't that mostly come from surface mining in some sort of ring?
this only applies to the rocky minerals or rocky rings
What the fuck, I always get nothing from following the instructions. I guess elite removed core asteroids.
That's of course the only logical explanation.
