My word! How polished and confident a presenter you are these days :). It was good to see you when you were first getting going and it is astonishing that you still keep coming up with great quality content to this day :salute:.
Painite is very difficult to find even in a pristine metallic ring. I mined 370 tons in my cutter and only got 1.3 tons of painite. I need 10 tons of painite for an engineer and still have 8 to go please help!!!!
I needed 10 tons painite for the engineer too. I too over 100 limpets with me and went to njikan 4. After prospecting a few rocks, the one i decided to mine had over 40% painite. To my surprise, i mined over 80 tons of painte from that one rock. Had to discard a lot of limpets to accomodate the painite tho. So worth it. THen needed 50 bromellite for the other engineer and the same thing happened at another system. Found rock with about 12% bromellite and methanol monohydrate and mined over 80 fragments for them both from that one rock. Havent been that lucky since.
wow.. RES are static!? that alone greatly increases their validity over randomly crashing into the ring. thanks for the info! also you just inspired me to get a super mining cutter. its not that i hadn't considered this before, but fighter bays mean that i can have some defenses and mine too, yay.
The cutter is a very good mining ship. and it can take care of it self on a res siet with a fighter onboard. I couldn't belive it either when i was told RES a static, but they are. So when you get good at locating the samt rockers over and over you can just wait for then to respawn every 2 hours
Hello , Questions 1. How do you identify the rings. Which is ring A, B, C, etc etc , I try that light colored and dark colored stuff and it did work. Since you're the astronomy guy. I thought I try you to get a scientific answer. That the first time I ever heard that if you go into the ring at the extraction point you get more of the materials you look for. Do have hard proof to that lore.
In the real world the ring will all be serrated my some king of a gap (not sure of the exact definition) In Elite the rings are separated by the materials they are made of, which should show up a different colored rings. About the res sites. No i have never tested it my self, but most people seems to agree that you get more fragments in res sites.
Down to Earth Astronomy Thanks for rapid replied and hard work. Cause without people like yourself I would quit elite two year ago because of no real documentation. I am looking forward for next video .
good video i most say but i still new to this game i wish to lern where or what planet i can farm this , Osmium , Methanol Monohydrate Crystal and Bromellite also i wish to know why Pirate hate me LOL
You can use the distance from the res site and the angle between the res icon and the planet. there is a reddit thread about if here www.reddit.com/r/EliteMiners/comments/5hi20o/how_to_map_asteroids_tutorial/
Great vid, and mining is strangely satisfying, however I can’t possibly justify wasting any more time on mining, theirs no profit at all, spend 3 hours at this system with my mining python and only got a few hundred k, I could get more profit from 20 mins of combat or 1 passenger run :( don’t get it
Bob also got a mining python and making arround 6 milions/h. You just take couple of good paid mining missions (you need good rep for that) and reload to get some more and stack them up. Then you mine in pristine reserves places, gathering materials for the mission along mining some other good paid rocks when you bump into them. I tried couple of python mining builds and found out that the best equipment combination is 2x2class mining lasers + decent powerplant and power distributor + 7 collectors + 2 prospectors + 3x 64 cargoracks + 3A refinery + 4A shields along with few shieldboosters. You are always busy that way. Depleeting rocks is superfast and you can probe few rocks before limpets collect all the material. You can also make some voiceattack scripts that will do the auto scoop retracting and collectors reprograming and most importantly auto firing - that way you can manage your refinery, cargo and other stuff while mining.
I can't find osmium I have been searching for basically the whole day and only found 3 or 4 asteroids total including the ring around the planet, with osmium and I found out that it would be better to search the rings round a planet and I have been searching for a hours and only found 2. Why can't I find any? This game is trash

Really good video, very helpful, I played since Beta, but I didn't even know some of the stuff you talked about. Thanks you.
you are welcome :-)
I didn't notice any increase in yield in a Resource extracting site though :D
You should get i think it's around 20% more fragments.
You could explain how to find pristine metallic rings in the galaxy map.
I couldn't have played this game without your videos, thank you thank you thank you! :)

Could anyone tell me where to mine bauxite please
Hey I do this in VR. We should co stream some time. Teach me your tricks.
How do you exactly find the same rocks over and over again?
You can use the distance from the res site and the angle between the res icon and the planet. there is a reddit thread about if here www.reddit.com/r/EliteMiners/comments/5hi20o/how_to_map_asteroids_tutorial/
I could have sworn RES sites weren't any better for mining. I guess I was wrong.
what about rocky belts that are pristine?
They will not give you the high-end rocks
ok thanks. Keep up the videos, we need more recent content
