Hello, im new to this game and i noticed that you only had beginners for piracy and mining. I would love to see more variety such as bounty hunting, or missions. Thanks! (Also, i really love your channel, and i thank you for being updated)
Returning player about to upgrade to SCO, i have all eng' etc but can hardly remember a thing after 5 years. Thanks you Sir for your video, making life easy.
One nice thing is they *just* boosted manufactured material drops. So a couple stops by a few systems at war, outbreak, etc, and you'll be good to go for a number of builds via trading. Encoded are still a little grindy.
I really like the "Ugh, a relog". Part of why I like your channel is in sharing in my values. I don't want to simply do the meta highiest-yield-per-minute stuff. I want to still be playing around. But it's also seems to be true that gathering materials is a bit unreliable in the natural course of gameplay. I would like to hear more about that experimental effect recommendation being divided on what class it is? Is that always going to be the case? I'm specifically thinking about the small Diamonback Explorer with its Class 5 FSD, which doesn't seem like it needs help on Optimal Mass values, and sure has good fuel available.
I’m not all that knowledgeable about optimal mass and such, but It’s just an old Elite adage I’ve found to work. For whatever reason, in coriolis, edsy or in-game, it always gets you the better range - size 5 and up is mass manager, size 4 and below is deep charge. Some go mass manager for lower than 5 as it is better for fuel consumption, for only slightly lower range. Each to their own! 🫡
I find that if you do a mix of combat and mining and always keep a few collector limpets handy, it covers 90% of your materials for G2-3 engineering plus experimentals. Then there are just a couple that I need to farm, like configurable components because apparently I don't hijack enough freighters. I get nauseous in the SRV and actively avoid any part of the game dependent on it.
You’re making great content. Thanks for the dedicated effort this takes. I’ve played off and on for several years and get drawn back into Elite with content like yours. I’ll add a suggestion for collecting with limpets. If you want the collector to gather any and multiple materials don’t select a specific material then launch limpet. If you do want a specific material then select it and launch limpet. Took me a while to realise this and keen to share if that tip was useful
I had an old shipping 'Conda with Level 3 engineered FSD, and if I replaced it with a fully engineered SCO version instead, I'd get around 7LY more range for shipping, amazing. This is like coming back to your old car and getting a new turbo so you can make it faster than ever.
I found your laser-mining video, and it did everything I could have asked for. Informative and answering of questions, without adding superfluous faff. Loved it. And then I went and checked the channel itself. Sounded lovely. Watched a few others that I really had use for(and passed on a few I didn't), and I was happy. And then I checked the videos page. "A video every week or so". And it was wonderful....up to two months ago and then there was a HARD stop. So...what happened? Did you lose interest? I hope not, I was hoping there would be more useful and informative stuff without all the extraneous, because that's what I think there's use and need for. Something that gives facts and information, hints and tips, without all the hyped "HI GUYS IN THIS WEEKS VIDEO WE'RE GOING TO WATCH ME DO SOMETHING TO GET VIEWS AND BECOME A RUclips SENSATION!" rot.
Great Video as always. The Crashed Anaconda in Orrere is in the bubble and not too far from the jump in star. It is possibly quicker to cross trade from Jameson Crash site but I too have done Distribution Centres just for the change. If you are going to use limpets for Mech, farming Dav's Hope with limpets is quite viable... although limpets while in combat, you don't have to worry about anything, just let them do their thing.
Solid advice. The Orrere conda has some truly annoying terrain, it’s a small thing but that’s why I go Koli Disci. Jameson site is… yeah. Quick, but tbh I’ll take any vaguely working method instead 😅
I am a massive fan of your work; keep it up! Also, can you make a video talking about combat in detail? I really can't decide which ship or weapons to use and engineer because of the massive controversy regarding which ship is best for which. I don't want to invest in the wrong ship and end up wasting resources and time.
Personally my favourite method for getting raw materials is going to a planets with high grade crystal shards. It avoids having to relog, has you drive around on a log g planet and it is a decently fast way to gather mats. While farming shards is not as quick as it used to be I prefer it to the other methods
True. It’s a bit far out for me to recommend for ‘all players’, but it’s definitely my preferred method. I like to bring a flak cannons as well, so you can blow the crystals up in your ship, then scoop in your SRV. Particularly fun and efficient with a friend - one flaks, the other scoops. Had one of my most fun and effective sessions ever raw farming like that 😅🫡
@@DiturisElite I'm going to start gathering raw materials soon and I read about this method too which I'm going to try, but with one change, bringing collector limpets instead of the SRV. The limpets can get stuck and get destroyed on the brain trees, but apparently if you travel 5-600 meters away the brain trees disappear and the limpets will collect all the resources. I'm definitely going to try this to see how it goes!
I recall the pre-engineered 6A Brewer FSD is still marginally better, but has no SCO boost. Not obtainable atm tho, for anyone who doesn't have it, your way is the best! :)
Does "best FSD drive ingame" include experimentals you could get as rewards for the community events? I have one with two experimental effects, that was at the time THE longest range drive.
Made it to the Khun system, traveled from the Nguri (cheranovksy city), got the three Soontil relics in ship cargo. On Khun 5, but ONLY see : the Rojas Horticultural Facility, the Korolanko Botanical Hub and the Belshaw Botanical Garden. I see NO Long Sight Base from space, from flying over the planet around (-32.2, -105ish), did surface scans, did system scan. Is there something I'm missing...?
Your reply is the issue here. You need to hear of Elvira even to see her base. For that you’ll need to travel at least 300ly from the start system. This can be annoying, but you’ll use Elvira for so many upgrades down the line 🫡
Ok, I'm really confuse. This video is two weeks old, so not old at all. My Martuuk shows she's between level 2 and level 3, so I cannot make level three upgrades. She has no 'donate' options, and it only says, 'Buy modifications to unlock next grade'. That implies I just need to upgrade ships whether I want to or not... Help please
Just try to engineer a clean new FSD from zero. Then the next levels will become available for you. Once you'll reach level 5 you'll be able to process the actual module. Hope that will help you.🫡
the fsd booster will work with any drive for frame shift wether it being sirius (old) or the sco new variant. the new drives just have a higher mass optium and multiplier with the overcharge. good luck hope it helped.
@@Cmdr_Amethyst a size 5 is a 10 ly or a lil close to it in boost for the guardian equipment. It is also a 1 unlock for all sizes same for the distributor and power plants sometimes even those are useful until you can engineer something.
It is the best FSD but still lot of work to do to get the best possible jump range :) (guardian booster, D rating the other stuff and lightweight engineering of some other stuff). The g-booster and D-rating is essential so you can still have srv on 70ly DBX without much of the anoying grind.
So, do the SCO drives have a higher jump-range than non-SCO drives? As a returning player, should I consider replacing ALL my FSDs with SCO models or, if the actual jump-range is the same, is the smart move just to fit SCO drives to ships such as cargo haulers, mining ships and mat-gatherers - where it's useful to be able to move around within a system quickly?
Yep, the jump range is (a little) better on SCO drives than non-SCO, so there’s basically no reason to not have it these days. It’s super handy on haulers and miners for in-system travel, but it’s also great on explorers for both the increased range and high-speed supercruise 🫡
@@DiturisElite Great, thanks. With 30-odd ships in my fleet I guess I'm going to be spending some time with Auntie Felicity. Definitely be doing my mat-gathering AspX first, though, for chasing HGEs.
Oh? I wasn’t aware they’d changed, I’ve been away from my desk for a while. Having looked it up, I can’t find anything about changed material costs. Could you talk me through what you mean, if you don’t mind? 🙃🫡
Well, thanks for this guide on how to buy and engineer an fsd in a very nicely edited and presented way, but... At the beginning at 0:24 you state best fsd (console) with 78 yrs for a Krait Mk II and - if I am not mistaken - somewhere (thumbnail?) I read 90 lyrs for "the new best fsd", so where - at the end after finishing everything - is your proof for that? I mean, not that I am secondguessing it, but imho that would have made sense, wouldn't it? ^^ Or did I miss something?
@@cmdrdonaldduck8940 dunno what those systems have to do with anything. However, if you follow the steps in the video it’ll get you the best fsd available in the game. There are other ways to increase your jump range however, like decreasing the overall mass of whatever ship you’re flying, and acquiring a guardian frame shift drive booster. There are plenty of videos out there that walk you through step by step on how to unlock the guardian fsd booster and if you want to maximize your jump range I’d recommend looking those up after you’ve engineered your frame shift drive.
I cant find the SCO drive on console. I have access to jameson memorial. Not in the anaconda. Pre engineered version is the best i can get at a max of 87.32
Tbh the video isn’t about that build, so I didn’t think it was needed. I’ll chuck one together in case people are interested 🫡 Edit: here it is. Note that it can go a little further if you remove the shield, but even with it you’ll get past 90ly max range…. edsy.org/#/L=H600000H4C0S00,,,9p300A3wG07J_W0AOiG04K_W0AfRG05J_W0AtyG03G_W0B1KG02q_W0BRuG03G_W0Bcg00,,53c000Pe80mpU34a00mpW7Q4G03N_W00JO800nG00
@@DiturisElite Got her up to 84.92LY! I wanted some extras like a vehicle bay, because I like to drive the Scarab around. And a bit better shield because I lithobrake a little too much :) o7 Commander!
Ye…. Got it for the thumbnail and stats tbh 😂 looks pretty though, building it for pure jump speed rather than exploring, so hopefully I’ll stick to the phantom for normal exploring… Hopefully 😅🫡
@@DiturisElite \the \\\phantom is a great ship with a lot of utility. But for the longest range, you can't beat a Jumpaconda. I built one for a trip to Colonia to unlock engineers. I have an AX Conda too, which is awesome.
0:24 "best console FSD is still Pre-engineered V1" contradicts your (boilerplate) description that says this tutorial, for SCO FSD, applies to 3.8 Legacy (console E:D) 😅
Yep, I’ve done it. I wanted to hit self destruct after 2 minutes. Seriously though, if you’d prefer the fast but boring method that’s fine. I’m just more about enjoying the “grind” rather than making it as short as possible 🫡
@@DiturisElite I've been to a haz res site and i know how often condas and cutters spawn (not so often), it's the same story as with jameson cobra vs scanning wakes. Either you fiil up on g5 materials in 5 minutes and go on or roll the dice and enjoy your luck for half an hour (if not more). But to each their own i guess
The FSD alone won't get you even close to 90 LY. Perhaps something like 50-60 LY. You need a lot more for the remaining 30-40 LY. Including a lot of engineering. Also, there's no sense in using "deep charge" for any ship size, no matter what the wiki says. The difference between "deep charge" and "mass manager" for smaller ships is absolutely minuscule. The main problem with "deep charge" is that it makes the FSD consume more fuel for the extra jump range, while "mass manager" doesn't. The latter has no drawbacks of any kind. It's much better even for smaller ships even if it gives you a microscopic amount less jump range. "Deep charge" is one of those completely useless bits of engineering. "Mass manager" is always better.
I know what you mean, but you certainly wont get to 90ly WITHOUT the best FSD! The other stuff you need is fairly self explanatory, might make a vid on it day though. As far as deep charge/mass manager, tbh it depends. Jump range is one of the few things I like to max out, so I’d go deep charge on a small ship, fuel isn’t much of an issue anyway. You are right that the change is minimal, but hey, just do what you prefer 🫡
@@DiturisElite Actually the other stuff you need is not all self-explanatory, especially to one who doesn't know anything about optimizing ship builds for jump range. In my case, for the longest time I didn't actually realize how the ship's weight affects jump range, and how you should, among other things, choose the lightweight hull rather than any of the other ones. Also things like undersizing your power plant is not self-evident (the instinct is to use a power plant of the same size as its module slot). Some other things need a bit of research and work, such as the fact that you should engineer your sensors for weight. With some modules you have to decide on what kind of compromise you want. For example, with thrusters you need to compromise between flying speed and weight. With the power distributor you need to compromise between whether and how frequently you can boost, and weight. (Of course engineering helps a lot in both cases, but still, you usually want to undersize at least a bit.)
On range, yes, just barely. 2 arguments here: 1. Double engineered class 6 is not available, and hasn’t been for a while 2. SCO is so insanely handy, its a big sacrifice for (at absolute most) 1ly more range Still, if you’ve got one and range is the be-all-end-all, go for it 🫡
Why is my comment getting deleted? I'm not bullying, I'm not harassing, there's nothing bad in my comment....wth? 5:40 don't apologize, it's the only feasible way to get materials at a reasonable rate. In fact, while more fun, combat is not the best way to get grade 5 manufactured mats. Also, different types of ships drop different mats. So there are some grade 5 mats that will never drop from an Anaconda. I haven't tried it yet, but I've been wanting to go to an anarchy system and destroy different types of ships to get different mats.....7:43 I agree, but it's EXTREMELY effective.
I haven’t deleted any comments here, must be a technical thing - sorry about that. Anyway, you’re right, if your after the most efficient method, but in the end this is a game. Not everyone finds enjoyment in grinding the most efficient way to get the most possible mats, so I like to slow things down, and make it more fun if I can. People enjoy different things though, so it’s obviously fine if someone would rather do the more efficient way, just to get it over with. I also have a distain for relogs, regardless of how necessary they are. Just really stupid 😅🫡
This is kinda funny actually - I got a comment saying the exact opposite. ‘Gather more mats - nothing is worse than having to go out again cos you can’t max out G5’ they said, and each to their own I guess. I’m more on your side of the scale, I normally don’t bother with more than 3 or so rolls at G5 unless it’s a VERY serious build 🫡
@@DiturisElite yes, I never understand why people bother doing 100% which gives you literally nothing. Then they cry about the grind. I have 50 ships, never bothered doing 100%, and 0 performance loss.
What a garbage click bait. He did not show the jump range before and after the engineering. He did not show the rest of modules and their engineering. He did not explain how to perform the Thruster engineering swap exploit. All in all, this is useless without the many other steps omitted in this video.
I didn’t just make this video so you could make an Anaconda, if I did I’d show you all of that. This video is all about the FSD, and how to get it - the anaconda is just an example of what it can do 🫡
When you're at the engineer, also make sure to pin the increased range blueprint, so you can use it elsewhere later.

Hello, im new to this game and i noticed that you only had beginners for piracy and mining. I would love to see more variety such as bounty hunting, or missions. Thanks! (Also, i really love your channel, and i thank you for being updated)
Dituri knows I like it huge. My jump range, that is.
Returning player about to upgrade to SCO, i have all eng' etc but can hardly remember a thing after 5 years. Thanks you Sir for your video, making life easy.
I have thousands of hours in the game and you still managed to teach me a couple of new things with this.
Good job :)
Glad i stayed up late for this! Have been waiting a while for this one! Met you on reddit once or twice.
One nice thing is they *just* boosted manufactured material drops. So a couple stops by a few systems at war, outbreak, etc, and you'll be good to go for a number of builds via trading. Encoded are still a little grindy.
This is a very well thought out and clearly delivered tutorial.
Cheers (subscribed)

I heard that if It's size 5 or bigger, go for Mass Manager. Below 5 go for Deep Charge.
Apparently with SCO the values are biased towards Mass Manager always?
Have yet to engineer a drive (or buy SCO) yet though...
@@PaweLasek Interesting
Excellent video, as always. Beautifully edited, informative, and entertaining. Thank you for all your hard work Commander.
I had an old shipping 'Conda with Level 3 engineered FSD, and if I replaced it with a fully engineered SCO version instead, I'd get around 7LY more range for shipping, amazing. This is like coming back to your old car and getting a new turbo so you can make it faster than ever.
Great video for the new Cmdr. Keep it up!

Great video thanks, super clear and easy to understand. Very helpful.
Thanks for the instructions!

Excellent work
Great Video as always.
Great content CMDR. Keep it coming :)

Found this advice elsewhere, but seeing as it was stumping me thought I'd drop it here. Wake Scanner only works with hardpoints deployed.
Good work CMDR 👍🏽
I am a massive fan of your work; keep it up! Also, can you make a video talking about combat in detail? I really can't decide which ship or weapons to use and engineer because of the massive controversy regarding which ship is best for which. I don't want to invest in the wrong ship and end up wasting resources and time.
Thanks mate! I’ve done a video on weapons already, but combat ships could be a good topic. I’ll keep it in mind 🫡
@@DiturisElite I'll check out the weapons video. Thanks!
inara is still up? I've always been discouraged from getting back into ED because i thought i heard they closed down
Inara is still up, EDDB has closed down.
Well presented
Man! This videos title is gonna become archic if the new revealed ship turns out to be a Large exploration vessel that allows the Size 8 FSD
Tbh I desperately hope it is
Also with new update it is guaranteed tiers as long as you have the mats. Question dituri is there a coriolois or ship build of your 90ly setup?
Fdev increased the material gathering amount by a lot. U can gather grade 5 encoded within 2 minutes
Can you make a video on unlocking the permit for shinrarta dezhra? (getting elite rank in one field)
Does "best FSD drive ingame" include experimentals you could get as rewards for the community events? I have one with two experimental effects, that was at the time THE longest range drive.
did any of this change with the update to engineering material drops?
I don't know what changed but reddit seemed to like the change.
Cant afford a pc so im on ps4. Wish i could be part of the community when it comes to new updates.
Another great video by the way
one still need the guardian booster to get the 90ly your video front page advertises.
...and all your ship's modules engineered/configured to be as lightweight as possible.
BTW, had NO engineers in my 'list' and still don't...
Your reply is the issue here. You need to hear of Elvira even to see her base.
For that you’ll need to travel at least 300ly from the start system. This can be annoying, but you’ll use Elvira for so many upgrades down the line 🫡
@@DiturisElite Already traveled over 860 from there.
Hope that will help you.🫡
Will a Guardian FSD Booster work with an SCO drive ? =] And thanks again Cmdr Dituri for another AWESOME video - always love watching your content =D
the fsd booster will work with any drive for frame shift wether it being sirius (old) or the sco new variant. the new drives just have a higher mass optium and multiplier with the overcharge. good luck hope it helped.
Thanks so much @@aioshan653 ! So presumably a Guardian FSD Booster would bump the jump range even _further_ =D
@@Cmdr_Amethyst a size 5 is a 10 ly or a lil close to it in boost for the guardian equipment. It is also a 1 unlock for all sizes same for the distributor and power plants sometimes even those are useful until you can engineer something.
Perfection. Thanks so much @@aioshan653 !
i have colonia cg fsd. with mass manager. this fsd better my fsd?

Share your edsy/coriolis build...
Should put the new material requirements in the description since the engineering update a few days ago.
Oh? I wasn’t aware they’d changed, I’ve been away from my desk for a while.
Having looked it up, I can’t find anything about changed material costs. Could you talk me through what you mean, if you don’t mind? 🙃🫡
@@DiturisEliteEngineering rolls are no longer RNG-based, rather depending on your reputation it's a fixed amount of rolls to get to the next level
Sorry thought it was the same as the suits, definitely makes it easier with the new system
Or did I miss something?

@@RebirthOfTheGods What do this systems have to do with what I asked/stated above? ^^
Pre engineered version is the best i can get at a max of 87.32
Sorry mate - as I said at the start, the SCO drive is currently available to PC players only. Nice range though 🫡
What is a good anaconda build that’s good at both exploration and combat
Now throw a guardian FSD Booster at it and use neutron stars on galmap for those extra sprints!
Edit: I recommend equipping atleast 1 or 2 extra fueltanks! This SCO boost really eats through your fuel!

Tbh the video isn’t about that build, so I didn’t think it was needed. I’ll chuck one together in case people are interested 🫡
Edit: here it is. Note that it can go a little further if you remove the shield, but even with it you’ll get past 90ly max range….

@@DiturisElite Thanks a whole bunch! This is fantastic! Going to get started today. Really, thanks!
@@DiturisElite Got her up to 84.92LY! I wanted some extras like a vehicle bay, because I like to drive the Scarab around. And a bit better shield because I lithobrake a little too much :)
o7 Commander!
cant find any distribution centres aaaaaaaaaaaaa
So much for "Never buying an Anaconda" 😉
Nope I won’t use the SCO drive I absolutely hate it, I have removed it from the Python mk2 and replaced with a standard engineered FSD.
Why
If you don't like the overcharge, you can still use it without using overcharge, as it has a little bit more range than the regular one.
I enjoyed this game but dont play it any more after they decided to abandon us on console and decided we dont get anymore updated material

0:24 "best console FSD is still Pre-engineered V1" contradicts your (boilerplate) description that says this tutorial, for SCO FSD, applies to 3.8 Legacy (console E:D) 😅
Ah, thanks for letting me know. Just a copy pasta for the end of the description and I didn’t twig - changed now 🫡
Did you stop making videos?
Nah, life just got in the way for a while. I’ll be back from a trip on Monday so I should get the chance to start on a new video 🫡
Man, you should really learn that high grade emission relog farming is waaaay faster than pve and does not require dedicated ship for that
Yep, I’ve done it.
@@DiturisElite
Actually the other stuff you need is not all self-explanatory, especially to one who doesn't know anything about optimizing ship builds for jump range.
You should try these system's in the Galaxy map search bar and fly to them. 07 🫡

@@DjVortex-w find out 😁 07
Im pretty sure the double engineered class 6 fsd still beats it
On range, yes, just barely. 2 arguments here:
1. Double engineered class 6 is not available, and hasn’t been for a while
2. SCO is so insanely handy, its a big sacrifice for (at absolute most) 1ly more range
Still, if you’ve got one and range is the be-all-end-all, go for it 🫡

ruclips.net/video/8EXOeB074Zw/видео.htmlsi=gi3D5PDpHmNWgPic, this is a 3:52 tutorial for ED Odyssey Materials Helper, saved my ass soooo many times!!!
+1 Highly recommend this tool for helping keep track of the materials needed for a specific upgrade.

Oh damn. Legacy lightweight sensors?
@@Powerhauz The Community Goal 6A pre-engineered frame shift drive then add mass manager. I wish I had the legacy lightweight sensor.
@jamesbigglesworth4677 idk why I didn't think of that first. I, too, wish I had a legacy Lw sensor. Ugh, the range.

You difenetly don't need 9 rolls on grade 5, at most 6. Unless you want to waste materials to get 99% up to 99.9%, which yields you like 0.07 ly.
No man’s sky players with 100 times the FTL range: pathetic.
Yeh..
NMS players with green stars: yes, this makes sense

What a garbage click bait.
He did not show the jump range before and after the engineering.
He did not show the rest of modules and their engineering.
He did not explain how to perform the Thruster engineering swap exploit.
All in all, this is useless without the many other steps omitted in this video.
I didn’t just make this video so you could make an Anaconda, if I did I’d show you all of that.
This video is all about the FSD, and how to get it - the anaconda is just an example of what it can do 🫡
