tilian was actually sick for a majority of this tour. you can hear the stress on his voice with this one. amazing that he still sounds good
The fact you acknowledge how the slight flatness/scratchy vocals due to on the on the road, touring vocal strain- I absolutely commend the respect and understanding you have and that that did not effect your opinion of the overall performance. Plus he honestly, well he and Jon, still smashed it.
With Tim’s passing hearing you speaking of bass playing it really hit hard. Your right Tim we do appreciate you and you were and will always be phenomenal. Rock on.

I feel like you're the only musician I ever see reacting to DGD but while I appreciate how non-musical people interpret it, I would say that it's an entirely different experience when you're a musician and can kind of pick out the techniques and details. Love watching your take on them, David! (Also the Cheers theme is timeless, I think it transcends the show)

DGD's traveling guitarist Andrew Wells has his own band that hes the front-man of called Eidola. Andrew is considered an integral part of DGD and his band just got signed to Rise Records! They released a new single yesterday called Counterfeit Shrines - Eidola. If you like the sound of DGD, you'll love Eidola even more. They deserve so much more recognition than they receive.

Having Andrew as a permanent member now is a blessing. I can only describe it as opulent. He's just one more level of depth to their sound and an excellent frontman and vocalist in his own right. He really shines on War Machine and Ghost of Billy Royalton and I can't wait to hear more on the new album when it drops.
I didn't ever consider DGD needing a second lead vocalist but now it wouldn't sound right without him, though I hope it doesn't cut into his time with Eidola, because they are really coming into their own, especially with Sergio on guitar.

Just an idea, how about reacting to both Jonny and Tilian version of DGD's Blue Dream in one video? TIlian's version of Blue Dream in Tree City Session is pretty underrated imo. Also you can hear how Jon's vocal has improved so much

The other guitarist in this video is a guy named Andrew Wells. He plays live with them, and is featured in two of their songs. You should either check out one of those songs (Evaporate or Nothing Shameful), or check out his band, Eidola.

Love the continued DGD vids, don't know if you discovered Bilmuiri yet but definitely worth a look. He was on a track on DGD's last album also a former member of Attack Attack.
Please do some While She Sleeps. I would say that they are definitely musical ninjas as well. I'd recommend Anti-Social, Silence Speaks Ft Oli Sykes, No Defeat For The Brave, or Know Your Worth (Somebody). Honestly, they are so good, it's hard to go wrong.

@@TheAdrianParade I mean they have like 15-20 minutes to set up gear and can't do a proper sound check cause there's a second band playing right beside them so I wouldn't expect the mix to be perfect.

I recommend any project Anthony Green is in. Circa Survive would be a fantastic listen.
I highly implore you to check out a band called Alesana. They are one of the most unique sounding post-hardcore bands and their sound has only improved over the 10+ years they've been together. I would start with The Emptiness era, where they made a music video for their song The Thespian. They wrote a whole concept album trilogy with The Emptiness being based off of Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe

The emptiness is a masterpiece. Growing up a huge Poe fan I fell in love with that band after listening to the album.
Personally prefer their first album, but they're worth a reaction. I don't know how deep into the post hardcore rabbit hole he'll go though, hah.

@@Nimbus3000 I can't in good conscience recommend that he start with On Frail Wings. It's a good album, and I still listen to my favorite songs from the album, but they were still polishing and finding their sound. He should definitely go back and eventually give Ambrosia a listen to see how they've matured since then. OFW also didn't have Jeremy and Shane in the band at the time
Warped tour they were playing shows almost everyday for like weeks so they def have some skill to keep singing like that
And in the middle of the summer through like the south and southwest. It was ridiculous. I miss it so so much.

This was the song that really got me into them. He doesn't hit 100% of the notes on the recording but he gets well over 90% if them. Most of the stuff he misses are overlayed harmonies

I love seeing a fellow music nerd not only analyze but actually love these weird sounds that are off-putting to so many other people. One of my favorite DGD songs :D Inspire the Liars is also one of my favs.
The bouncy house thing is the famous Warped Tour Schedule. They have a huge inflatable structure with the stages listed along top and every single day they hang the schedule of bands from it. You mentioned Tilian having a hard job. Imagine doing what he does on a tour where the schedule is different every single day and sometimes you play first and sometimes you play last and sometimes you play in the middle.

It's the cheers theme song, I watched the series as a kid with my dad, and I rewatched it recently.
I remember Saturday afternoons after the cartoons ended on channel 27 KDFI would show Cheers. It was either that, infomercials, or Golf.

Tim (Bassist) also has his own band called Wolf & Bear. I recommend Greyblood or Twisted Tongues. Tim has a more prominent sound in this band and he kills it.

Young robot and parallels by dgd are two songs I love so much and they have some pretty neat musicality in my opinion
Hail the sun! In some of their older videos you can see their singer drumming and singing at the same time. Its insane. Or any band with sergio medina (Royal Coda, Stolas, Sianvar, Nova Charisma), he brings ridiculous stage presence to the shows he plays.
Another great band to check out with amazing vocals is Protest the Hero. Blindfolds Aside or Sequoia Throne!!!

It's the Cheers theme, I never watched the show, but I still immediately recognized the melody from a scene in a modern cartoon called Adventure time, very emotional and I learned it from that. Also DGD absolutely kills it at live shows.

I'm from the SF bay area and just found out that Swan is from San Francisco and Mingus is from Antioch, I think that's cool!
Also I remember I saw DGD perform live in 2009 during the Kurt Travis era and man, my regret was that I was not into them at the time like I am now. I remember they performed "Tree Village" and I wish I could watch it again with the perspective I have now.
