  • 💻 Asus Zenbook Pro 16X ( geni.us/ZenBookPro16X-RTX4080 - Commssion Earned )
I unboxed the Asus ZenBook Pro 16X OLED and was not disappointed---this laptop is a stinking powerhouse! As you all know, I have been so impressed by Asus and Lenovo recently with everything they are putting out, and the Pro 16X is just one more example of that!
In this unboxing, I talk about the ergonomic lift on the keyboard, the large trackpad, whether or not this laptop is upgradeable, and give samples of both the pen and the webcam! If you're interested in anything Asus, check out this unboxing because this laptop is impressive!

Just wanted to add, turning the refresh rate down will not save any battery at all. It will only lessen your experience. So keep it at 120.

Thanks for the unboxing and first impressions, cannot wait for your full review! I am currently considering this and the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i. The Yoga has a numpad, which I really need, but the Asus has its strengths as well. Speakers are also important for me, both have great ones I've heard. I could buy a seperate numpad for the Asus. I have also looked at the ProArt Studiobook, but definiteley want best speakers I can get. Also looked at the MSI Creator 16 HX, but doesn't have great speakers either. Asus is very very slow in releasing their products over here in The Netherlands. Even Asus Netherlands doesn't know when they will come.

Come on Ben, drop the full review! I've been eyeing this laptop for a while... do you know what kind of wattage the 4080 in this model is able to draw?

Could you please review the ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404)? That would be dope.

01:40 Asus Pen: Can the touch screen rotate 360 degrees to be in tablet mode? Or cannot - do you write as is with Asus Pen on a 90-150~ degrees touch screen, from the keyboard?

My issue with all ASUS’ lift keyboard/2nd monitor design is it cuts into laptop’s internal space so you are limited on upgrades and cooling

Hey Ben I'm paranoid about the burn in problem these OLED laptops possess. I want to use the laptop for atleast 7 years. Is there any risk of burn-in within this time frame?

Just set a screen saver for 5 mins

Screen saver, black mode on everything and hide task bar.
Modern OLED’s are great but if you leave them on static pages for hours a day, you can eventually experience burn in.
I have an LG C2 OLED TV with 14k hours and it’s perfectly fine.

Finally. I asked for this review so many times!! Unfortunately it's unavailable in middle east. The asus co dealer companies here just bring gaming laptops like the rog and so on. I hope you can reach to asus to let them fix this .

I recently used the cousin, ProArt StudioBook 16 (13th i9, and RTX 4060). It was built like a thank but the offcenter keyboard (numpad) drove me crazy and I returned it. The physical dial was nice

Could you possibly include Linux/GNU compatibility in your reviews, specifically for the ones with Intel CPUs with big.little cores (Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, the upcoming Meteor Lake etc.) because there are so many great premium ultrabooks that I'd rather buy now than to wait for AMD versions to become available more readily. Also, strangely, this generation's Intel CPUs are significantly cheaper than AMD chips across all tiers-HX, H(s), U SKUs, you name it. Although there is an exception to this with Intel P, which have always had ridiculously high prices. Here's my situation: there are 2 Yoga 7 Pros with 13700h and a 7735hs; the ADL-H one costs $1200 while the Rembrandt refresh AMD one costs $1400. Like, what the fu… why? I move around a lot, I don't play games but I do use offline AI software a lot, so GPU power is important to me as well. If the mini-LED version of G14 with 4090+7940hs was available in my region, I'd get that but it only has the 165 HZ WQXGA panel. And it costs $3500. Reviewers say it is bright, but not enough for me because the sun on a clear day is so bright here it blinds you.
For context: I swapped my laptop's display with a 500 nits IPS LCD, the same display that was used on the Ideapad Creator 5 with 10750h. It's bloody accurate, more colorful than me I'd say, but I was mainly interested in its brightness. It drains the battery a lot, but it was worth it. 500 is the minimum I'd be comfortable with and AMD laptops tend to have shitty displays. Linux support is equally important to me as well.

The studiobook has 3D technology as the vivobook of this year. But unfortunately they put the rtx 4080 in the zenbook only . It's tricky actually. They want to sell all their laptops i can understand. But if they will make studiobook 18 with rtx4090 that thing will be a monster station. It will have everything for creative purposes and also gaming. It will sell easily 4k$
