Something a little different! Thanks to ASUS for sending this over. Let me know what you think of the review?! Want to see more of this sort of thing?! I reaaaaalllllly enjoyed making this. It was the change of pace I needed to be honest. The tutorials can feel a little samey. Testing, writing, filming and editing was all good fun. Although, these videos do take bloomin ages 😄
Honestly your review of the laptop was honestly pretty good buddy! About the only thing I felt was left out was SSD expansion. During the cooling section you showed the internals briefly and I didn't spot a second m.2 slot. (I could have just missed it) I dual boot my laptop with linux and like to have a second ssd for that as partitioning can be such a pain!
I ended up going with a lenovo legion 7i pro model with a 4080 in it. The screen is pretty nice, better than my older laptop, though it doesn't come close to a nice OLED in terms of contrast! I couldn't justify the cost of a higher tier creator focused notebook though, so I went with a 'gamer' notebook. While I wish it weren't so heavy, it's hard to argue with render performance while plugged in. I rarely use my laptop away from wall power though so it's not a big deal.
I have the duel screen too, it's amazing but I the pen is too limited for proper use with PS or 3D sculpting. You can create bespoke sliders and controllers for da Vinci Resolve on the second screen, which is a brilliant touch.
Wow. Looks a great laptop but so expensive. What’s the cheapest laptop and desktop that you can buy that allows me to edit using Davinci Resolve … that would be a good video.
'I think that 99.5% of your subscribers will certainly be willing to pay €4,400 for it and will order it immediately tomorrow.' NB: I personally looked until I saw the price and immediately followed by clicking on the x.
Hi.....sir should i plugin the power source for my Working should it decreases my laptop battery's efficiency? Or i should charge upto 90% then use it? Kindly guide me i have the same asus laptop 💻
The biggest problem with this Asus laptop is that it's Asus meaning poor support in the UK and non-existent stock. Single pieces available (not rtx4xxx) at dodgy online stores where any issues mean months to resolve. Been there. Done that.
This all might be true. But after I purchase Asus laptop that was some 8 years ago top of the line, it was a major disaster. Hardware failure after hardware failure. It has shaken the trust in the Asus brand to say the least. They may have changed since than, but its hard to get that trust back when you have spend so much money and get such faulty device in exchange. So I'm skeptical of the Asus brand in general. That's just my take on it.
I was seriously thinking of maxing out my credit card until you said there were lights that couldn't be turned off. Probably just as well as I don't actually need this much laptop.
The components sounds better than my Desktop, but i would prefer a 4K Display. I‘m looking for a Laptop at the moment for travelling and it seems that a lot of new high performance Laptops are coming this year.
After struggling with a Dell Inspiron laptop that was never purchased with video editing in mind, I have finally taken the plunge. I got, direct from Dell, a refurbished Dell XPS 17 - 9730 Laptop. It has an Intel i9 13900 processor, 64Gb RAM and RTX 4080 graphics, but I am disappointed! Rendering time is down, but still twice as long as real-time, and stabilisation and other tracking etc on the Color page does not exactly fly. I have given Resolve high priority but no real improvement. In your opinion, should a laptop with this specification fly, or do you think it has been "nobbled"?
Hmm that's interesting! It should be pretty quick. 13900 is a solid choice as is the 4080, probably on par with what was shown in the video. My first question is are you using Free or Studio version of Resolve? It will also depend massively on the type of footage used. If you want to try the Blackmagic RAW footage I used at 06:00, you can download it here: www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/blackmagicpocketcinemacamera/gallery
@@MrAlexTech I am using the Studio version as it includes some features I like (enhanced super-scaling - one of my cameras can not shoot 4K at high frame rates so I shoot at 1080p then upscale). All footage is in H264 so it should not be an issue. I have a couple of problems with Windows failing to shut down on the XPS and the keyboard not working properly, so sending it back, and will do some more research! Thanks for your reply, anyway, and please keep the videos coming; really enjoy your relaxed style and how you convey your understanding of Resolve 🙂
The fact they don't have a 64 gb ram option is Really bad. or even 128. this makes it a no go for me. Otherwise I would have bought it. Please RUclips creators, STOP USING THE WORD BUTTERY SMOOTH.
the limited lower end 13th gen processor limited to 14 cores (while top end 13980HX has 24 cores) combined with that ugly flippy keyboard (looks flimsy too) is a deal breaker

@@complete-mayhem-x64Hey! Thanks man, appreciate it 🙂👍 I did mention it but only briefly at 4:25. There's only one bay which is poop!
@@MrAlexTech ooof, guess I missed that. It's what I get for listening while at work!

I imagine its nice to make something different for once, I would love to see more of these, perhaps for a 2 in 1? Anyway, Loved this!
Mine should arrive tomorrow. Finally took a punt, with an rtx4080 Can'twait, will also treat myself to a studio version of DVR
Where did you find the 4080 version
Awesome video. I actually brought a Asus laptop dual screen powerful as this one and love it so much for davinci resolve
Ohh the one with the second screen above the keyboard?! I'd like to have a play with one of those too!
@@MrAlexTech yes that's the one. Exactly that with RGB keyboard lights up too. It's definitely amazing on rendering videos. 😍

@@billyjjackson sounds good even though mine is without the pen 🖊️
Would've loved to see some Fusion playback tests, atleast some of the templates Fusion comes with.
Ah fair one!!! I will add to the next one. Will try find a good benchmark style test to run 👍
Could you tell me how to customize the color of the keyboard?
But Bluetooth keyboard
Bro is back, Woof & Meowz! Oh yeah, the sticker price is insane but looks pretty cool.

Awesome machine and great review. BTW, is there anyway we can change only one side of corner radius in fusion?

what did you think it was going to cost brokeboy??? 1500? 2000? Those are 2010 prices wake up

What, no DVD writer?
Can will use it for a gaming channel?
Looks like a great on-the-go photo- or video-editing laptop... that price, though!
@Alex, I see that you are also using a macbook. How is the haptic touchpad feeling in comparsion to that on the mac?
Never owned a laptop and i must say after such videos i sometimes wish maybe i should get but only for a moment.

Stock does seem weirdly low. Scan was the only place I could find it in stock in the UK.

You can turn them off... just not separately to the keyboard backlight.
Do you ever ask questions on Da Vinci resolve ?

I'm speaking back to you from next year of your comment

No coming laptops this year (
Honey, its getting cold in here. OK, hold on, I'll render my 2 hour doc. Thanks for the review.
Interestingly, the MacBook gets hotter! By a fair margin. Zenbook makes alot more noise though 😄
You deserve the best! ❤

What exact model number was this laptop please?
General model is UX7602. This specific is UX7602B 🙂👍
Can you make a video about how you do this box focus 4:07 ?

Nerver a laptop anymore for me, especially (not) for graphiX of video. A standalone PC is more powerful and above al more flexible.
Great until you unplug it! Still my biggest issue with my windows laptop

Have you actually experienced the device? The keyboard is not 'flimsy' at all.
But youre also comparing it to an older Macbook Pro. Not Fair.
"It's got a killer refresh rate."
Sorry, I had to put that in here.
"Hot crotch" the phrase of the video 🤣
£2500 ouch
!! HOW MUCH !! very nice though, Thank you
