    Great review on the laptop. I have to agree with you that it is a great deal considering that it has the same top spec processor and the highest spec graphics card that the current ProArt Studiobook 16 has and considering that it is roughly 1k cheaper that isn't a bad deal and apart from the keyboard layout looking a bit odd and it having no gap between the number pads and the return key etc I would say it's a near perfect budget version of the ProArt Studiobook H7604JI except one huge thing that nobody ever actually points out when they compare the 2 laptops and that can be a deal breaker for some people. Yes it is a great OLED screen but unlike the ProArt Studiobook screen it isn't a touch screen

    Some corrections. The 600nits is only for HDR. Normal content is usually under 400. The miniLED in macbook pros are significantly brighter and can reach over 1000nits in HDR and 500+nits in SDR. The weight is also at least 4.6lbs so half a pound heavier. US inflation is not the big price driver. All RTX laptops have a huge price premium attached because Nvidia has a monopoly. Laptops in Canada and Europe are significantly more expensive.

    • @CrashWilcox
      @CrashWilcox  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the updates and that's unfortunate about pricing in Canada and Europe.

    • @Twilight_Sparkle
      @Twilight_Sparkle 3 месяца назад

      why do you need such brightness? To become blind? This laptop's advantage that is very low minimum brightness allowing you to use it in a dark room with curtained windows without external lighting at all by "dc dimming" through brand app in addition after setting minimal brightness in windows setting, or if you suffer from "Pulse-width modulation" you can do the opposite - set windows brightness to maximum and control it by in app preference, and use windows brightness settibg inly if you are already set minimum brightness in qpp. But i personnaly suffer from "anti-pwd" and it's qualitty killing more and don't notice "pwd" at all.

    Great review! Spec-wise, this seems like a great machine at a very competitive price. What's your feeling on overall durability - do you think this could easily last 5 years? I've heard mixed reviews regarding both quality control for this model and ASUS's general customer service. Also, could this take an upgrade of up to 64 GB RAM? I've seen conflicting info on the internet, so unsure whether it's capped at 32 GB RAM. (Edit: also, don't want to be THAT guy, but timestamps/chapters for different talking points would really help revisiting a particular section, so it would be super helpful if you could add those in the future)

    • @CrashWilcox

      Sorry for the late reply. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and especially leaving your thoughts. I have heeded your advice and added timestamps to the video, thank you for pointing that out.
      As to your questions, I do think this could last 5 years. Again, I don't see this as a laptop in the true sense. This is a desktop replacement and in that case, not being moved around or thrown in a backpack, I think it will hold up. The power certainly should. I'm not sure about ASUS customer service as I have never used them so I can't speak on that. To the best of my knowledge this can take 64Gb's of RAM, that at least is what the website claims: www.asus.com/laptops/for-creators/vivobook/vivobook-pro-16x-oled-k6604/

    • @mathviews
      @mathviews 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@CrashWilcox Appreciate the reply. And nice stuff with the timestamps. I guess I'll have to think long and hard whether I can justify paying an extra 25% or so for the Zenbook Pro 16x, or bite the bullet and get the Vivobook Pro, which really seems like the more sensible option for my needs. Would you say portability isn't really feasible at all? I'm talking occasionally traveling and moving it from one office to another, rather than truly using it as a fully mobile machine and whipping it out on the go, in any setting.

    • @CrashWilcox
      @CrashWilcox  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@mathviews I think it can be portable but if you plan on moving it alot, the zenbook may be the better option just due to build quality. The plastic on this may cause problems over time.
      If it's just moving from one desk to another it probably won't be a big issue but extensive travel could be.

    Hey, AWESOME Video!
    I bought this Studiobook because of you. I'm very satisfied with it's performance, especially after I installed Crucial 64GB(2x32) RAM. I'm just curious about one thing, the 2TB Storage "limitation". Is that a limitation on how it can be ordered from factory or a limitation on what can be installed? Because i noticed when watching the ASUS introduction video, he mentioned that the PC "can ordered with up to 2TB of storage". He he didn't mention it as being a 2TB limit. Also, couldn't we just install a bigger SSD and partition 2TB as C-Drive? And the rest as D, E or F-Drive?
    As you can tell, I really want a bigger SSD 😅
