To explain the animation of black clover, don't blame the animators, blame the horrible inconsistent staffing and insane last minute freelancing by the higher ups, at 27:33 this ep funnily enough was animated by some of the same animators that brought us jjk season 2, these animators are part of a team called Hakuyu go which is a collection of the most talented animators old and new, so pretty much what happened with this episode was the same issue with every other episode, the horrible schedule and last minute staffing, the studio kept getting freelancer after freelancer and it made the schedule suffer heavily, normally the animation would absolutely be stiff unimaginative, off model and limited due to these constraints but this team said "fuck you" to the animation industry and made kne of the most ambitious episodes ever despite being really bad and somewhat good at the same time with it havinf some great animation sequences but having really bad backgrounds and 3d effects, to basically end it, it isn't the fault of the animation team, it was indeed the fault of things that were out of their control.

That's what I mean by misappropriate, you are attempting to make black clover look bad by stretching and reaching.

1 read the manga (would fix 90% of your issues), 2 you are zooming out to an incredible level to find similarities between BC and other series to the point of being disingenuous (also to compare BC to Naruto for an example of plagiarism is laughable at best given Naruto's own issues in that regards), 3 to reiterate, the anime suffered incredibly from filler amount, understaffing, and available budget.
The majority of this series is all setup for a payoff 330 chapters in advanced. Not that prior to that isn't good but a lot of what's happening is purposeful from a certain character.
The side characters being worfed for the villain of an arc is incredibly common, complaint was nonsense.
Nobles (they were in the royal realm) are used to having everything done for them specifically by magic knights. The king is an incredible example of this given he has a 1 to 1 relationship with someone who does his entire job for them. His magic is literally useless. Most Nobles are cowards as well. Them not using magic to defend or run away perfectly encapsulates their incompetency and highlight exactly what's wrong with their society.
The magic evolving during times of duress is legit explained lol
Asta rarely wins alone until after the time skip with the exception of a couple in the Elf reincarnation. Even after the time skip he only has a few lone W's
All said and done this was just a bandwagon response video. Read the manga.

      1. How is it disingenuous when I point out exact similarities between two shows, 3 separate cases and its almost a carbon copy. Naruto itself didn't copy stuff that blatantly and I even explained how one can borrow ideas in the right way.
      2. JJK also suffered from understaffing for a bit, but they still delivered great episodes. As I've said, BC is one of the most expensive animes on the planet and what they have produced is an unacceptable budget/quality ratio.
      3. Nobles are a fraction of Capitals population. Even if it was 10%, what about the other 90%? Why NOBODY is using any magic, not to escape, not to fight, not to do anything?
      4. Asta has the HIGHEST win-rate out of all the shonen characters which is about 93%. It's absurd.
      5. How is me reading the manga going to change my opinion about the core concepts of the show?

    • @joridvisser6725
      @joridvisser6725 7 месяцев назад +14

1.cant speak for this as I don't know
      2. Jjk is seasonal bc is not so they have WAY less time to work on each episode
      3. The capital is OVER 90%nobles..... not the other way around.... besides that it's explained that most commoners need to rely on magic tools to use magic in their day to day as support and that peasants on average are effectively magic less...
      4. While it's true his win rate is high in most cases it's only with help that was VITAL DURING the fight.... not to see his allies be defeated one after the other to rile him up and eventually solo.....
5.i would say that because of their short time of production for each episode along with the inherent weaknesses of animation (the skipping of things like world building and exposition in order for the episodes to flow better) caused you to miss several things
      Also something of myself:
No the 5 leaf clover isn't actually visible so people can't tell.... besides that in a world of magic having the ability to neutralise that VERY concept would leave most people outright terrified.... imagine someone being born in our world who can remove our ability to breathe....
Also there is a LOT of TRAINING in bc it's CONSTANTLY gets referenced but rarely shown true... while I agree that a suddenly new ability can be off-putting they make sense in context:
      In order:
-noelle: awakening the desire to protect
-gauche: considering supporting someone for the first time instead of only fighting alone
-noelle: finally acquiring the confidence she needs to fight alongside her teammates instead of only looking after the innocent
-noelle: realising that she in order to protect those she cares about must be willing to bring harm to others or outright kill them even if she might put people in danger....
I could honestly keep going but I'm stopping here for a obvious reason...
Also yes fuegoleon was taken out which socks.... but not only does it put the Villains as an actual threat it also shows a hidden side of nozel (noelle's oldest brother) by making him not only feel shame the capital was attacked but also swearing to get personal revenge... this is later elaborated on that nozel and fuegoleon have been rivals for a long time in the battle with the 3rd eye.....

While it's nice to see another comprehensive opinion on a show that I love that doesn't align with mine.
But I believe that at some points you weren't paying attention to the story and giving unfair reasons to dislike bc. This was mainly due to your bc vs Naruto bit which actually weakens your stance.
I know you've probably seen this a lot but Asta has never had a true solo win, sure the animation makes him look flashy and cool but if the others were not there he would be true fodder no matter how powerful anti magic is.
That vetto fight was ment to show the family aspect of the black bulls and how their loyalty and team work actually puts them a cut above the rest of the magic knight squads.
Just because Naruto popularised the shounen formula doesn't mean bc is a "naruto clone", and i say this because asta has a better relationship with his rival yuno without the need to kill each other on site like other shows do. Just because asta got a new fancy sword does not invalidate the immense training and hardwork he puts in which is seen as early as the first episode. Even after this we're always given scenes of him training throughout the anime.
Black Clover is far from perfect as there are things that I would narratively change myself. But if the animators were given the proper time to cook the reception would be more positive than cheap shots at its individually. As you've only watched 50 episodes most of the problems that you have for black clover are improved upon later on but if you clearly have no interest now I wouldn't force you to watch it as you have dropped it. I'm glad you at least gave it a chance

I agree with "rare solo wins", but that is part of my complaint. Overall, he barely loses, because his side ends up winning somehow, yes he might be knocked out, but then there is Yuno, Yami, Noelle who will win it for him. There are no stakes. And the only reason I compared it to Naruto so much, is because there way too many similarities in the beginning.
As for improving later, I will read the manga when it comes out and see if my opinion changes.

Ok, this video was very garbage.
You keep saying asta is op and does everything by himself, but that is flat out wrong.
Yes, anti magic is an anomaly that has the answer to pretty much most magic related circumstances(no shit), but asta pretty much never does it alone he always had other people helping him. Everyone pretty much works together to help him get the final shot.
Also, asta has never won all of his fights he literally lost to npcs in the capital invasion arc, and if yami hadn't shown up vetto would've blown all of them up.
And as for u hating on the power system its ur opinion so all the power to u but you fail to realize that they unlock new spells through character development and the spell they unlock is based on the situation theyre in rn.
Eg noelle's first was a defensive spell because she wanted to protect people who were begging to be saved. Gauche unlocks the oiwer to mqke doubles of his allies after he stops being self centered and actually starts to care for other people. And yami literally couldnt espace from the barrier until he learned a new spell when he saw his found family about to be killed and since youve not read the manga this famoly means they world to him. Mages can also learn new spells from training btw which is shown in later arcs. And fyi asta and yuno are the 2 most hardworking individuals in the show just because it isnt shown on screen doesnt mean it's not there. Asta wouldnt even have been able to pick up his swords if he didn't train his body and even when he could he couldnt use them until he got trained by someone. And most of thr powerups we see from yuno is also the fruits of his training whoch is mostly his control of mana.
As for you stating thats the side characters feel like they didnt do anything how is that a bad thing they tried valiantly but sometimes the opponent is too strong for them that's just how it is sometimes and also those fights are more for developing/showing their relationships which become relavent later on (i hate the mentality that everything beeds to pay off instantly) and black clover is a masterat forshadowing stiff hundreds of chapters beforehand.
and when you said asta does everything i totally remember him fighting licht and vetto one on one.
And the constant showing of the characters tropes is an anime exclusive thing to pad out the time. The manga is much faster and has gorgeous art.
I can go on and on but you get my point. Black clover is a much deeper show than people give it credit for. There are some dumb moments im not denying that, but stop pretending like it's a turn off ur brain kind of show.
The whole point about the production value of this show was outright insulting to the people who poured their blood and sweats on this show. It's obvious you dont know shit about how anime production actually works. You can give 1 billion dollar budget to a studio, but if they dont get enough time and proper scheduling its gonna look shit.
And the animators absolutely love this show, which is why some ep look even as good as they do. Ep 119 whoch was pretty much the finake of the first saga of bc was completed literallycminutes before the ep aired, and if you've seen that episode, it actually looked good.
Oh, and the author never said Naruto is his inspiration. Its dragon ball bleach berserk and yuyu hakusho. And the "plagarism" you told are literally the most vanilla stuff every shounen under the sun does.

@mahistv idk where you're getting your data from but his winrate is 63.64% 28 wins and 16 losses which is one of the lowest winrates actually. And before ypu say but thats probably in the manga heres asta's loses in the first 6 arcs.
He lost to npcs, licht, ladros, the witch queen and would've lost to heath, vetto, rades, fana and Mars if he didn't have people helping him. He has not won a single fight himself so plz enlightenment me how thats him having the highest winrate.
I was talking about how you said the side characters were useless, and I explained just why that's not the case.
And like I said before all of the stuff black clover uses are troupes every shounen does. Every one of those "copies" that you claim bc took from naruto have been done in other anime before naruto.
Eg demon inside the mc yuyu hakusho did that. Sasuke's entire character is made from kurapika and hiei 2 characters by togashi. A giant monster appearing thats from dragon ball. Asta/naruto being hot-headed but determined kid litetally every shounen ever. Now Am I going to say naruto is a carbon copy of hxh yuyu hakusho and db ofcourse not because I'm not stupid and realize realize inspirations exist and naruto's and bc's authors put their own spins on that.

1:24 Luck the Smiling battle maniac. Is he smiling? yes. Is he a battle maniac? yes. Where's the lie? You made your own expectations the show didn't do that. And was defeated by the guy who fought Yami once.
2:26 It's a weekly Shonen people forget how characters are over time. when you binge it doesn't hold up but when you watch it weekly it's fine.
4:35 Yeah Yami surpassed his limits and gained a new spell. that's part of the magic system. It's baked in. The show mixed power ups with character growth and training, it's quite smart.
4:44 Yami no diffing Vetto did ruin their victory, but it re established Yami as a top fighter, It could've been handled better.
5:16 Luck and Magna were the two mentors for the past seasons having them beaten shows the stakes. Vetto is a Captain level threat. you can't rely on past arcs to say how strong someone is, you need re establish it for the audience. since he was a minor character.
6:13 That's fair you can hate the power system, that's fine.
6:25 This statement is wrong. Even 1 page dude does get a power up.
7:42 The world of Black Clover is just like that. the dungeon wasn't even that dangerous compared to other places. They're not ganna baby the characters, they're knights.
8:13 This is a terrible analogy because you do need to train. It takes training plus character growth to gain a new spell.
8:47 Black Clover has build up, when characters grow as characters they gain a spell. That's locked in, since the first arc. It's rule within the universe. if you see a character growing they're ganna gain a new spell. Would you prefer them to off screen the ability then show it in the arc? Because the do, do that with Yuno, all the time.
9:49 Yeah, that's the point, the MC is moving the plot. The nation has been fixed in their corrupt ways but now that Asta's there he's making actual change. The Black bulls were lazy until Asta's never give up mentality motivated them to do more. The Asta effect.
9:57 because they're under estimating him and they're classist, how did you miss that? When they do investigate him after defeating Zagred, they banish him. Because they're corrupt.
They don't care about Asta, They didn't even care about Yuno who had a 4 leaf grimoire. Because their classism was that deep. People who discriminate as hard as the Nobles, are stupid. look at our world. Did anyone care about how smart the poor kid was before he got straight A's? No! they only care once it affects them. That's the point, the series is showing how blind the corruption has made these people.
11:01 Did you miss the propaganda? Magic is everything. it's the lie we've been told since day one. the peasants do nothing because they think they're nothing. People who are looked down upon don't try to over throw their oppressors. Look at slavery. If all the slaves ganged up they could over throw their captors. But they were constantly belittled and made to think they can't. Peasants don't think they can fight back, they rely on the strong magic knights because that's what they've been told. When the Black bulls came second place at the star festival people were shocked. they thought the Black bulls were the worst and will always be like that. They believed the status quo would never change. so they don't try to change it.
12:07 I FULLY AGREE. The anime is drawn terribly, it needs a remaster. They should have stopped making Boruto filler and given the budget to Black Clover to hire an animation director.
17:25 Black Clover did copy Bleach, berserk, Dragonball, YuYu hakusho, maybe One Piece, but never Naruto or fairy tail that's just plain wrong, did you not research this? why did you use fairy tail and Naruto, Bleach is right there. Your points is right, but your info is wrong.
20:49 WTF? You know about the problems the anime shows, I thought it flew over your head, but nah you just didn't think about it? Bruh. the answers were right in front of you.
23:34 Your expectations weren't met in that moment, but in the next arc Asta does learn and instead of killing Fana he saves her with the help of mars another guy he wanted to save and got saved.
24:19 I agree Fridging Fuegoleon was a mistake.
25:01 Agreed. They do it too often. They gotta stop.
Good video, read the manga if you hate the animation, I wish it was better, it's a good story. The manga is hype, look for answers to your questions because they exist, in the show.

Thank you, I'll read the manga when it fully comes out and see if It changes my opinion.
      1. Actually fair, however, we were specifically told that he likes winning too, so I was under the impression that he is supposed to be capable.
      2. Dude, if you forget this kind of trivia about a character in a week, you should see a doctor. No way anyone is forgetting that Noelle is royalty after her introduction.
      3. I dislike that system, it's too cheesy.
      4. No, it established that Ass-pulls save the day and the victory is not earned, it's given by the plot.
      5. We already know the stakes as I said, this was redundant and diminished their characters for me.
      6. Ties into point 3, glad you understand.
      7. Hmmm, then what's the point of making a 1 page such a big deal?
      8. They are still newbies, I understand that Julius wanted to see them shine, but that's too risky, and a potential source of conflict with another nation.
      9. I didn't say you don't need training. I said you need to discover something first before you can use it. You could have been doing heart surgeries all your life, but if you go and operate on the brain, it would be quite different and I doubt you'd be allowed to. Again, ties into point 3.
      10. I'd prefer them developing an ability before using it. Ex. Gon with Jajanken, Naruto with Rasengan, even Ichigo with his Hollow Mask. Sometimes a power up mid battle is fine, but not all the time.
      11. I'd prefer other characters doing something. Ex. Hunter X Hunter, Parasyte: the Maxim, Overlord. In these cases the world exists and things happen outside main character, making the MC a cog (an important cog), but not an engine.
      12. What do you mean underestimate him? For all intents and purposes, Asta is disabled by their world standards - he is missing a core part of his anatomy. So when this magically crippled person becomes a Knight and gets invited by the Wizzard King himself, ain't no way people won't look into it. It's an equivalent of a paraplegic competing in regular Olympics and getting some results. The whole community will get involved.
      13. I see your analogy with slavery and that's a good point. However, people in Royal Capital should have a bit more pride than a "slave" and more skill too. Also, this still doesn't explain why they don't try to use magic even for fleeing.
      14. I wish there can be a remaster, but I don't think that's happening :(
      15. Hmmm. My research was watching both Naruto and Black Clover. I brought up 3 examples of extreme resemblance and no other shonen has that many similarities with one another. Take the Licht VS Kyubi attack. They are similar, but different enough not to count is as plain copy paste. Mars though... I'm sorry, his character arc and abilities are just Gaara with minor changes. I don't know how can I be more clear.
Also, when I said Fairy Tail, I meant that we've seen similar plot-lines there, not that Black Clover copied it.
      16. I did and I don't see what answers I didn't get.
      17. Too bad, I'll read it in the manga at some point.
      18. 100%, dude deserved better.
      19. To be honest, that's a problem of many classic shonens

      2. I can remember stuff like that, but trust me there are tons of people who forget things after a week. People straight up forget who characters are. It's very much necessary.
      4. That's a fair stance to have. I personally consider asspulls to be something that comes out of no where with no explanation. In Black Clover we're given an explanation so I don't consider it an asspull.
      7. Propaganda. People discriminate. That's the point. People's differences don't matter in Black Clover. Hard work is all you need that's why Asta is so powerful. People think they need a big grimoire full of pages or a ton of mana. But thats just nobleist propaganda.
      8. Magic is a very wild thing. If you are strong enough and imagine what you want you gain a spell. But in order to fully picture the spell you'd need mental clarity, we see time and time again. Rill is the best example. He needs to imagine the picture in order to use his paint magic. Or take Noelle. She gained sea dragons roar, a final flash reference. It was hinted at for a while. Her first spell was sea dragons nest, he out of control water from had those crazy spirals. Eventually she gained Sea Dragons Roar. Very much hinted at not an asspull. Even Yami's dimension slash was hinted at. He had Black Slash, Black hole and was trapped in spacial magic, and he dimension slash. Not the best hinted. I'll agree. All other spells are better hinted at. Even Yami's next spells.
      11. That's a fine stance to have. But stuff does happen outisde the MC. But it is inspired by the MC. Yuno is working as hard as Asta and making a big splash. Asta inspires people and they go out and do change. Similar to Luffy who inspires people to be better and make changes in the world.
      12. Yeah that's the point it's dumb. And there's tons of real world examples like that. People who are disabled are often looked down upon and people don't think to look into their achievements. And the clover kingdom is hella stuck up. When they do investigate Asta they wanna kill him but instead he's banished. So they do investigate him eventually. Once they can't ignore him anymore.
      13. Alot of people don't have attack or transportation magic, and rely on magic knights. Fight or flight, they chose flight. And without a broom nearby they ran. When Asta becomes Wizard king he better start mandatory combat training for the citizens. They are very dumb.
      15. Its called confirmational bias. You watched Naruto and Black Clover and looked for similarities. Even tho Black Clover isn't inspired by Naruto at all. I could look at Mary had s little lamb and say its a biblical reference because Jesus was known as the lamb of God. And his mom was named Mary. But thats not what the story is based on. No matter how similar it is, if I were to say it was based on the bible that would be lying. It'd be spreading misinformation which you are doing because you didn't do enough research. Its really easy to look up what Yuki Tabata stated to be his inspiration for Black Clover. And it's not Naruto. He's never even stated to have even read Naruto. And until he does comparing the two and claiming they're the same is just misinformation. Because they did did steal, heavily from Berserk, Bleach, YuYu Hakusho and DragonBall. Its very obvious when comparing them. And it's factual to say that any similarities are definitely copied, because we know he's read them.
You really should finish Black Clover, the manga definitely. It's extremely hype.

    I have some disagreements:
    1. plagiarism: Saying that BC is a copy of Naruto because he saved a person that believes in him, gtfo
    2. Saying an arc is a copy because there is a bridge, ice and mist? Gtfo
    3. As you said yourself getting ideas and changing them is fine. Fairy tail guild is now somehow the standard for fantasy guilds? Come on that idea is ancient
    4. Yes the author is clearly grabbing characters from a bunch of other shows and for the secondaries he barely does anything with them. But that’s totally fine, a story can never be 100% unique nowadays; everything has already been written if you nitpick enough.
    5. On the lack of training, in a lot of magic based stories asspulls happen because magic in difference to pseudo magic (Nen, chakra) is really chaotic. If you dislike what happens that’s fine, it’s a fair point but magic shows usually do stuff like this of getting power ups in the middle of a fight.
And if you think Naruto made resurrection I am sorry I disagree that’s a super ancient trope. Just like how Sasuke backstory can be reduced to a typical samurai revenge story, the details and progression are what determines if it’s plagiarism or not.
In other words I understand your take but disagree mainly on plagiarism and power system parts.
I definitely think BC has a too many characters problem (although I think this could have been solved by reducing the number of squads/magic groups). BC is something that is not for everyone and that’s fine. In a sense BC demands that you are familiar with shonen tropes but at the same time that you don’t pick it apart too much, since I would say it’s more shallow than JJK, but if you are willing to go with you get some good fighting choreography and the characters are simple and easy to root for.
    Well that’s it for me.

Okay so before I get into it, I will say that I am absolutely a black clover fan boy. I love Asta, most of the characters and the general story. I will say I agree with some of your takes. The animation is not good for most of the show, the characters constantly repeating their tropes gets annoying and sometimes it would be nice to see regular people fight back. However, wow the rest of your takes are literally just…wrong.
    1) the side characters do contribute. It’s all a team effort. Just because the main character deals the final blow does not mean everyone else was useless. I’m guessing you want everyone to deal the final blow at the same time then
    2) no the magic system is not plot armor or conveniences. The powerups are related to characters development in their mind set, similar to JJK which you praise. You just don’t like how it’s done so you say it’s bad. Idk abt that sir
    3) no it’s not plagiarism. If it was so many anime would be taken down for plagiarism. Their tropes and they’re not exclusive to Naruto. It’s inspired by Naruto but it’s not a copy. Yuno is a great example because he is a more positive spin on the “edgy rival trope”. Just because characters are similar does not mean they are copies.
Honestly I just think you hate the show and it’s just not your style. Some of your points are great and valid but the others are flat out wrong. Sorry. Again I am totally bias and feel free to disagree.

      2. I know how it's done. When the plot demands it, the character levels up, because they were in a situation where "stress" made them stronger. If JJK was running on the same fumes, Itadory would have been using Sukunas Domain Expansion during the Shibuya.
      3. Give me another example of the first episode that has everything I mentioned. I've watched hundreds of shows and specifically went to check the first episode of top 20 shonens. Only Naruto and BC were this similar.

I'm going to preface this by saying I mean no hate
a lot of these points are... misinformed or disingenuous, I do agree with some of them but for others it kind of just feels like twisting things in the most unfavorable way possible just to tack another thing on, especially prevalent with the plagiarism complaint, even if it did copy you seem to give JJK a lot more benefit of the doubt for what, in your own description, are very similar things and extremely comparable on the superficial level you compared it to naruto at.
It's ok to not like the series but its not really in the scope to just say baseless accusations just because you don't like it, it goes outside the realm of an "opinion" or an "objective flaw" and turns into just slander
I'd like to stress again that I mean no hate, but damn it was hard to sit through hearing things that could just be easily refuted with one sentence or a reference to stuff in the actual show and I'm not even a big fan of the show or anything.

    • @mahistv

Don't worry, I don't take it as hate.
To address the BC vs JJK implementing others' ideas - Black Clover took ideas from Naruto and blatanly copied them, without changing much nor improving on them. Mars is a carbon copy Gaara with some cosmetic changes. Jujutsu Kaisen on the other hand, yes, also copied stuff, but their "Edo Tensei" doesn't kill the "vessel", it can only be done one at a time, it has limited up time, the vessel can be anyone including a caster, the person they resurrected is visually identical and they are not immortal. What's the difference between Mars and Gaara? The element they are wielding and some later plot development.

Animation errors from a weekly show and then compared to a seasonal or even longer show. Yea Demon Slayer animation better look great with the time between seasons. Not saying your point isnt valid, but you have to put that aspect into perspective instead of just saying it looks like crap.
As you said, BC has an insane amount of setup that presents a really good outlook for the series but your take that the other tropey things or previous complaints screw it up is just infuriating when you realize most shonen have the same problem. BC isnt played up to take itself seriously, in any way. Its a shonen, doing nothing more than trying to be a shonen.
Its one thing to not like something because it has no substance, but to immediately have a hypocritcal point afterwards by comparing it to other shows that makes the exact same mistake is nonsense.
Yami blows off Astas moment of deep thinking and chance for emotional growth for a gag.
Vigilante Dekus moment of VERY deep reconciliation is basically blown off by a *Bubble Bath*
Show has bad bits. Understandable, but trying to reinforce that by pointing out common problems doesnt really sell out for your point unless the point is targetting the genre as a whole instead of a singular show

let me explain what this shit is about
-First point , Luck is a fighting maniac but he got beated in his first fight , first reason to hate black clover
(luck literally beats the shit out of main villians god tier army all by himself in manga )
-bro says in vetto's battle , everyone tries to kill vetto but fails and yami takes the glory , what a mature reason to hate a show
( if thats the case than in t.o.p everyone tries to knock out jiren but fails and frieza pushes him in the end and despit goku's effort no 17 becomes mvp , by this logic we should also hate dragon ball )
-black clover have no power ups , they only gets spells at a specific time , they dont do any training , wow 💀
( this guy surely never read the manga , it was stated that some spells appear naturally and some are created by the user , one of the example is zora who creates different spells all by himself , even magna creates a spell called "soul chain death match" , yuno creates "neverland" and more )
-bro says asta anti magic is usefull for magical stuff but why is it used everytime 💀💀💀💀💀
( bro really lost his brain , obviously instead of using magical force to stop some stuff they would prefer easier solution which is anti magic )
    - nobody notice asta five leaf grimiore
( asta himself didnt notice who is the owner of grimiore , how can someone else )
-asta didnt get praised for what he did
( all the captains and julius wanted asta to get more reward after elf arc even nozel who hates him , he just didnt get bcz he was on the way to prove that he isnt the devil servent , and in manga he really gets the rank equal to vice captain )
-why people dont use magic to protect themselves ?
( bro did you ever questioned on mha creators that why the citizens in mha verse dont protect themselves and use their quirks , obviously if i am a regular person i will not interfere in the job which is supposed to be done by military and police , plus most of the people dont have much amount of mana or combat spells to fight , you brat )
-bro really said that black clover is copying other bcz the character design is similar , some characters like mars are similar to someone else , i mean bro really think that their aint any similar personalities and character designs , there are many naruto panels that are similar to dragon ball , do mean we should hate naruto , just bcz someone made a similar stuff this means they are copying?
    what a kid
the only thing which makes sense in this video is about animation , while the other stuff is just some random bullshit

      - When? A few hundred chapters in? My problem is that he was set up as a strong character and then shown to take L after L.
      - 100% mature, because he invalidated the entire suspense that was built during the whole arc.
      - I didn't say that. Reason 1 - I'm frustrated with the "power-upping" because it happens when it's convenient, implying that power ups exist. Reason 2 - all spells received in the first 50 episodes were during combat. What else Am I supposed to think. Reason 3 - I even showed Noelle and Asta training... My point is that there is little relation between training and power-ups, because they just discover spells at the time of need. Or you mean to tell me Yuno got Sylph because he was training hard? No, he got it by chance.
      - Again, you misunderstood my point. Asta SOLVES every problem, that's my issue, not the anti-magic.
      - Yes, that's stupid. And saying Asta himself didn't notice is not an excuse, because he is not the sharpers tool in the shed.
      - What? They do that all the time. Gentle's whole story is about him trying to help while being a civilian, once heroes went down, people started arming themselves and use their quirks, because they knew Allmight is not coming. Still, that doesn't excuse BC.

You shouldn't have to watch a whole series to have an opinion on it, 50 episodes is very generous and if the episodes after happen to be excellent or better quality, it doesn't matter because nobody wants to watch 50 episodes of poor writing to get to the "better parts" of a series.
And as for the criticism that he didn't read the manga, you shouldn't have to read the written version of a story to understand certain elements because reading the same story twice isn't for everyone.
Anime tropes are very common because they provide easy to understand character dynamics and story elements. The problem with them is that it makes stories predictable and so it's up to the writers to make the tropes unique or catered to the story they're trying to tell. Sure Goku and Vegeta is similar to Deku and Bakugo and Naruto and Suskue in that they are rivals headed towards the same goal, but their relationships and dynamics are different which makes each one interesting

Mahis, I'm 50/50 on your complaints. Some were good while others just didn't click with me.
1 big complaint that I don't agree with is how the studio adapted BC. Sure, it's pretty bad early on, but that's because they basically had no staff working on it so they had to outsource. Mind you, this is before Studio Pierrot started believing in Seasonal Anime's like Bleach TYBW. So instead of stopping the anime early on, they kept adapting it because of the money they got and the terrible japan producers telling them to keep it up. Taking that into mind, the anime isn't as bad when you think about it. Airing weekly while most animes air seasonal and the animation is even worse. Iceblade sorcerer for example.

When asta beat him he tried blowing everyone up but even then the hope asta inspired by being a magicless boy kept them init even before yami showed up.

      4. I've also compared it to Naruto and Bleach, which are done by the same studio. Black Clover is one of the most expensive amines on the planet and what they show me is absolutely unacceptable, even for a mid-range budget.
      5. I agree that they happen, and my point is - 90% of power ups are asspulls in BC, where in Naruto's case, the only asspull I can think of is the very first episode, 2nd Kurama spirit from Minato, all the Hogoromo bullshit. For the most part, he had to learn Rasengan, Rasen-Shuriken, Senjutsu, Kurama control, which are his normal abilities that he constantly uses. Same thing with Ichigo. He had to learn Shikai, Bankai, even controlling the mask. Sure the mask itself is an asspull, but at least he wasn't even able to use it for the first several times.
I agree, I do overanalyze, but that's what I enjoy doing. As for voicing my thoughts while not finishing, this is the reason I couldn't finish and most of my point have nothing to do with what comes next.

The elves ressurection? the defeat of lucifero? all can be explained as he needs everything in place for himself to be released and recreate the world in his way, he purposefully calculated everything all to his plan so that he could swoop in take what he needed and then he can do whatever, why doesnt he kill asta? how else would lucifero be defeated, whty would he ;et the wizard kind "die" it was the only option as he cant kill patry but he cant lose or let him get away other wise the gate would never open, all of everything in the series was all to his plan, its his calculated mastermind play that makes all of the conveniences and asspulls make sense he made sure they would happen. only plot hole is why did the mf who brought him luciferos heart not just kill the wounded asta and yuno? its so that lucious whould be killed by them to take his power and gain it for himself, call bullshi all you want, but this is some s tier writing and id put this in top 5 anime off all time jk te first 60 episodes exist and thats the only reason why it isnt, stick with it and you will get the best story ever

Ok, clear problem but you're actually comparing Black Cloveer's and JJK's art, thats a huge problem, 1st Black Clover is older and JJK only just recently got that animation, season 1 animation was still worse than fight scenes in Black Clover. Plus think about it from a length perspective. Black Clover is 170 episodes long, do you think they would have jjk level animation for all of those, 2 years before JJK season 2 happened.
Plus don't even start with the movie, you could say Black Clover's movie had better animation than JJK's but you would defend it with, oh but its older.
Also the plagiarism part is a massive stretch. You mentioned there being a bridge, like thats important. The most you could call them out for is inspiration which then you could arrest JJK for Bleach cause its closer to being a carbon copy than Black Clover. If you looked at Kisuke and Gojo you would realize their personalities are 1 to 1 when Gojo isnt fighting, then it goes to Kenpachi. Don't even get me started on Aizen and Kenjaku. Also if your gonna bring up certain parts of the show being similar to other pieces of media, thats complete bs. You called out the black market saying they plagiarised it from Harry Potter. You're comparing an anime to a book with movies. Is your next point that Asta is a human so he plagiarised that from real life, Yuno has the wind spirit who is copying Tinker Bell. You could disect anything from any piece of media and call it out fkr being similar to something, even with the concept is simple and straightforward. What else is the Black Market gonna look like, its a secret alleyway in a town.
In other words, im coping cause Season 5 isnt out yet and your points were highkey mid and im realizing this isnt criticism, but just hating. W video tho, looks better than JJK season 1, cause Black Clover is in it.

    • @mahistv
      @mahistv  7 месяцев назад +3

I can accept the time difference argument, but BC has nothing on JJK S1. Just the fact the BC allows itself frequent animation errors and style changes between frames puts it into below average category. JJK is not flawless, but its consistently good and sometimes great. BC is consistently inconsistent and sometimes alright. Also, weekly or no weekly $140K an episode is way to expensive for such animation flops.
Also, it's not clear if movie is canon, so not sure if we should take it into account

    • @bananaBread16
      @bananaBread16 7 месяцев назад +1

@mahistv the movie being canon has nothing to do with the animation, and it's a movie, 99% of anime movies aren't canon.
I've seen scenes in BC that trump season 1 of BC, not the entire show cause its 170 episodes long, most movies have better animation cause they have bigger budgets due to only being an hour or 2. Bleach is a good example of inconsistent animation, Soul Society looked great considering its the first major arc then it goes back to being bad cause the big arc is over. Still 24 episodes compared to 50 in a season is a wild difference. Plus Black Clover is more than likely getting a season 5 this or next year cause of the movie's success, so let's see if it's still bad, tho you had some good points like Gaara, Magna's glasses, and gifs, but I usually consider how good animation is when it's at its best. I would compare the movie to season 2 but it's a bit unfair cause it's a movie, and I can't fully love the season 2 animation knowing the conditions of the workers, any animators would do a great job if they were worked to death.

      @TheYoungFan0 7 месяцев назад +1

Also BC has inspiration from Bleach and Berserk. You can’t call a show “plagiarized” when it’s just typical Shounen tropes. What you listed out in Naruto happened in Hunter x Hunter, MHA is new generation Naruto, BC and JJK have massive story elements from Bleach, and etc.

Naruto, especially Bleach, never had animation flops like that. Sure, there were a few fights in Naruto with "interesting" animation that looks similar to what we see here at times, but never to this extent. Also, please let me know what other shonen has a trope of "An underdog MC fails the exam everyone passes, gets involved with a villain which causes them to discover a power and save a person important to them, who says they've always believed in the MC".

    • @TheYoungFan0
      @TheYoungFan0 7 месяцев назад +1

@@mahistvYou will be incredibly surprised how much animation drop off those two had, especially during their later years. They are close to how Black Clover had with its production, as all 3 come from the same studio.
Black Clover’s beginning is very similar to how My Hero Academia began its story however MHA was able to subvert that trope in a small way to make it unique. Black Clover, like Demon Slayer are relish in using Big 3 tropes in both character writing and story beats.
Idk why you have such a problem with it, as all stories with heroes in existence can be traced by to the Mesopotamian story of Gilgamesh. No modern story is completely original and that’s totally okay! It’s how the writer(s) execute those stories that really matters.
This goes for many Shounen manga currently ongoing and in the past, newer manga like MHA, JJK, DS, BC, etc. were inspired by the Big 3 as those stories were inspired by Dragon Ball before them, and Dragon Ball by Astro Boy before it, I can go on but hopefully you get my point.
This is why I don’t like the “plagiarism” part of your video, authors are human, and they like to incorporate nods and take character beats and have a nod to their favorite works they read/watched growing up and put them together in their own stories. Again there is no original idea about what an author can put into their works, as my point earlier, someone has already written the idea before them, it’s how they are written and executed within those stories that ultimately matters.

    with all due respect but:
-after watching only 50 episodes, you go too far in your assessment where most of these events are important later
    - a copy of "Naruto", this is the worst argument and used too often. Most of these things can be taken from other series, myths, fairy tales (which is true). And the truth is that it is easiest to blame you because Naruto is popular. Same as with Dragon Ball where in Big3 you see copies or inspirations (if anyone sees it)
-The animation gets better with the number of episodes, but that's because the budget for the first episodes was smaller due to the not so popular manga
-As for spells in the anime, it is left unsaid, but spells are not something you can just invent. A grimoire is like a part of you that responds to emotions. A self-created spell can be practiced, but to come up with your own you need external help, e.g. runes (like Magna and Zora)

    • @mahistv
      @mahistv  21 день назад

      - Dude, if 50 episodes is not a fair enough try, I don't know what is.
      - I challenge you to find me any piece of fiction that has these exact events. I've seen all major shonens, a bunch of smaller ones and none have the exact same scenery, order and characters as BC and Naruto.
      - Again, I showed ep 67 as an example and it looked like shit.
      - That's my point, you can't invent or create spells, you can only discover what's predetermined and you discover it whenever the plot decides that you need that spell, not when you have trained/gained enough experience to do so.

Nah dude, the plagiarism section wasn’t it. All you did was give surface level nitpicks and ignore the context that give each of the scenes from the respective anime their own identity. During your comparison between the Saussy Village Arc and the Land of Waves Arc, you mentioned how they both contain a bridge, something that’s so insignificant in BC in comparison to Naruto since it was only included to give an idea of the setting and nothing more, to the point where I don’t know why you even mentioned it, you might as well have said that both arcs happen during the daytime.
As for your Gaara and Mars comparison, the emotionless character is an archetype, and that’s not even considering they’re emotionless for different reasons. Being similar due to the archetype should in no way be a reason to devalue Mars because it can be done with other characters, in fact, I’ll give an example: Goku and Naruto.
    - Upbeat, cheerful character
    - Wears Orange
    - Used to live alone, but not anymore
    - Is oblivious to romantic feelings
    - Their love interests are daughters of powerful figures
    - Both of their iconic moves are blue and were taught to them by perverted masters
    - Both have animalistic transformations they struggle to control at first
    - Both have access to multiple forms
    - They’re both somewhat merciful to their enemies
    - Both fight to be the strongest for the sake of their goals
    - Both go on to have two kids
    - They both have a rival who’s perceived as better than them
Does this mean that Naruto is bad too?

And while we're on the topic of superficiality, during your comparison of the Land of Waves Arc and the Saussy Village Arc, you literally went out of your way to mention how they both have a bridge while fully knowing since you watched the episode that the bridge in BC was completely irrelevant. I smell hypocrisy.
Plus, did you even read the full list of comparisons? Goku/Naruto cheerfulness and mercy are NOT superficial features, they're core parts of their characters. How are you going to say Naruto's mercifulness is superficial, then go on to talk about Gaara, a character whose change of heart began because of Naruto's mercy and empathy? It's an odd move at best and a disingenuous one at worst.

I started Black Clover and kinda sat through the first episodes because it had an interesting premise, though i played with the idea of stopping because the characters were mostly reduced to a single trait or two maybe and the action really wasn't too convincing to me. Then the elves (and most importantly, ma boi Rhya) got expanded on and i needed to know the answers. Though i did feel disappointed that nobody ever really tried talking to them or understand them in some way. They had such an amazing story but didn't get any recognition (as also seen in that burial scene). In a story that's about discrimination and prejudice, such a thing would have been necessary, and instead they were treated like your generic evil villain team. I stayed for their arc, and when it ended i realized that the only reason i kept watching was because i liked the elves but none of the other characters and ultimately stopped somewhere around epi 160. I actually did like the elves arc so much that i wanted to take inspiration from it and expand on it, further enhancing the themes of discrimination and false judgement with terrible consequences, and to write such a story i wanted to start BC again but i couldn't. Knowing the truth about the elves it only made me see the flaws of this show way better and feel too bad for what could have been that i stopped at like epi 10, not to mention that i still didn't like anyone besides Rhya (and Patolli maybe).

Bro Black Clover isn't the only anime that has arc structures as well as character and story concepts that other anime have, read or watch Saint Seiya and Yu Yu Hakusho then go and read or watch Bleach, it does the same thing you said.
Black Clover does when comparing Naruto and Black clovers first two arcs during the plagiarism section and Chainsaw man takes a lot of things from Jujutsu Kaisen and Dorohedoro, the thing you said about Black Clovers first and second arcs as well as other things you compared Black Clover with you can do with other anime and manga but that doesn't mean because they take from other shows they can't add their own unique ideas to what they took, it's funny that you said Black Clover takes from Fairy Tail, in the past people have called Fariy Tail a One Piece clone, I mean people have compared concepts and ideas that naruto has with Ninku, Inuyasha and Slam Dunk and Slam dunk isn't even a battle manga. People have also found things to compare Naruto with Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho

I understand. However, I can't look past this - a first quest that starts as something simple then turns into a life or death situation, that happens in a village separated by a bridge, where a hero of the village was brutally killed by the villain in front of everyone, followed by a battle with an ice users who create a mist around the area, finished my a shot of the grave overlooking the area at a sunset.
That's too many similarities, considering I don't know of any other story that has this subplot. No story is 100% original indeed, that's why I didn't put much emphasis on the "demon destroys our place and a hero had to sacrifice himself to save us". Again, Naruto did the same, but when I have a similar location, similar powers, similar villain behavior and a very similar conclusion (the grave scene), I have questions.
For resurrections, I was throwing shade at both Naruto and Black Clover.
Also, I'd disagree that "In a sense BC demands that you are familiar with shonen tropes", I say you should be pretty unfamiliar to enjoy it, because it will all look new and interesting.

My only issue with the series itself is the animation and certain inconsistencies here and there but for the most part, I still love it. I finished the anime back when the dub ended, watched the movie, and read some of the manga past that point and I'd say the main things that kept me coming back are the characters, the struggles they face, the messages, themes, and the world itself. Yes, there are plenty of stories like it that have been done before but Black Clover is one of the few that stuck with me on a personal level. It's not for everyone and it's not perfect, nothing is. But I do like how you're not blindly hating on it or calling it mid and you also had good things to say along with your criticisms.

The grimoire ceremony thing is just giving them books to help them with their growth iirc (Again its been a minute so please correct me if im remembering incorrectly). As for magic, I dislike that it's too convenient (people are getting whatever powers they need, whenever they need them) and that magic seems to be a part of the daily life of everyone, but once something happens, they all behave like it doesn't exist.
Asta barely lost a fight, because even when he does, he gets aided by his friends and powers through regardless of the obstacle, winning the battle anyway.
