Just a question if the metal used for nicherin blade is rare, why don't they make alloy with it. So that the tip of the weapon has the highest concentration of the demon killing metal. This will make its production quite easy wouldn't it?
One of the things I hate about it is that the demon slayers have been around for centuries but the government doesn't recognize them, that just makes no sense
This is an interesting topic, because I'm not sure if you will have a balance of both or rather, one dominating side. ToAru has something to say about that I bet.
The ultimate Weapon, a crow guided super Yoriichi type 0 with 6 wisteria, nichirin Guns! The crow finds a Demons, sends the signal to Yoriichi type 0, and then the demon is surprised by a Machine Poisonous monster.
The fact that Slayers do not use other breathing styles can be explained by the idea that not every breathing suits any slayer. We can see this in the fact that Tanjiro could handle Sun Breathing better than Water Breathing. So, even though a main Water Breathing user can use Wind Breathing, they are not likely to be as proficient with it as they are with Water Breathing. It is also implied that the Nichirin color each Slayer possesses is associated with their respective suited breathing style: Black = Sun Blue = Water Green = Wind Red = Flame Gray = Stone Yellow = Thunder We can also understand why Tanjiro could use Water and Thunder Breathing because, just as white light is composed of every single color, a Sun Breathing user can adjust to every single breathing style.
I can see that, but then it's super convenient how Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Rengoku and everyone really, found the exactly correct teacher. If this was the case, trying out multiple styles is even more important, because it will help to figure out which one is yours.
@@mahistv Well Zenitsu isn't really made for thunder breathing since he can use only one form, Tanjiro just learned the easiest breathing to learn (water breathing is seen as beeing easier to learn than other breathings) and Rengoku comes from the family that created the breathing that he uses, it's literally in his blood. And they are pretty much the only once that we know that they tried only that breathing, most just took a breathing that they couldn't use properly and just made one of their own (love, flower, insect, serpent and so on). The only slayer that actually learned the perfect breathing for tham from the start would be Kanao, but than again, flower breathing is just a changed water breathing so it should be still easier to learn than most. Also there is a problem of time. You can't keep an apt slayer away from the field for to much otherwise the demons will start to outnumber tham by to much and finding the best breathing for you means that you need to train in each at least a couple of months. So that's why people would useally go with what they see fit for tham, for exemple a person with biceps the size of a melon would go with a strenght base breathing like stone or somewhat flame, people who are fast on their feet would go with thunder and so on.
Most of those issues could be easily resolved with having actual strategy and tactics. Riflemen are vulnerable in close combat? Train them to fight as a squad with other riflemen or in a mixed formation with sword users. Marionettes are too inflexible? Send them as a backup with slayers or the aboforementioned riflemen. Counter the demons' individual strength with the power of organisation.
@@faith4657honestly just the simple idea of not executing people in final selection and not sending waves of weak slayers when there's a big demon would probably multiply the organisation power by 10
My biggest gripes are completely skipping lower moons, the final selection and having no scouting branch for promising people as well as a focused training facility like how we had the big one in prep for the final fight.
@@KiraiKatsujiWasn’t that actually the job of the trainers? It was stated, that they have some numbers of trainers for rookies, and send them to the exam, when they are ready. I think the wind Hashira was complaining about the trainers, that they sending only weaklings to them, who aren’t ready yet. And has to many casualties by the exams (wasnt in Tanjirous exam around 50 people, and only around 5 survived?). What they maybe needed was more regulation, what the training was and than additional training (like total concentration). Most of what Tanjirou learned in the activ time, was something, that the masked guy should have knowed and could had taking more time, to teach him that to.
@@hasseo195 Doesn't matter either way 99% of what we see is all being useless in actual fight, and unlike our heroes they don't grow, and let's not forget there are ranks but we only see the weak and the hashiras completely wasting a lot of potential same with demons who become the kizuki after three arcs
I love demon slayer, but my biggest complaint is how rushed the story is, in my eyes rengokus death wasn't sad cause he died before we really got to know him, more annoying than anything
This is the Taisho era Japan, before World War II. Gun technology hasn't caught up yet. And not all countries in the world have easy access to guns like post-World War II Americans with too much time on their hands
@@MahiMahi-yu5joJapan had fought and beaten both the Russians and the Germans in the years prior. They were still occuping Far East Siberia as late as 1923, where they obtained American weapons. It wouldn't be nearly that hard for anyone that tried to obtain one
I learned that demon slayer is best enjoyed when you're brain is turned off. The last time i turned on my brain was when i was wondering why muzan first sent 2 fonder demons to try and kill tanjiro when they first met instead of sending an upper moon or even better, doing it himself if he was stressed out due to tanjiros earrings.
He didn't think Tanjiro was all that strong, he didn't underestimate Tanjiro. Tanjiro would've lost the fight if he didn't get help. So sending those demons might have been a good call. And Muzan didn't know Tanjiro was with Tamayo.
@@Tootsuba why would sending a upper moon to kill tanjiro be dumb? If tanjiro gave muzan ptsd due to his earing then logically muzan would send out one of his best units to make sure it doesn't become a problem in the future. On top of that pretty sure they would get the job done with time to spare. There is no reason not to use an upper moon over 2 random demons in such a situation
@@Sky_901 Good point, it was either muzan trying to not have a heart attack or a spur of the moment. When he wants something done, he would send the closest demons to said job. But muzan could sense how strong a human is. He knew those two demons would be enough. And he didn't know about nezuko. None of the demons do. Muzan thought tanjiro was alone, he wouldn't guess that three demons are helping him.

I’m so glad somebody finally said something about the death trap that is the final selection. It honestly would’ve been better off being named natural selection because the only people who really pass it are the superhumans that become hashira a week later after getting their sword. Is it not alarming that you sent like 70 children into this test and only like 4 came out!? I couldn’t even comprehend someone like murata even passing this exam unless someone like sabito or tanjiro just carries everyone, and even still only 4 other kids made it out alive when the mc was there to carry them, so they are sending countless teenagers at best straight to their death. Giyu is like the only hashira that actually worked for his title, everybody else were basically prodigies. I can’t even say that the hashiras shouldn’t only be good for being cold to the lower members, because most of them absolutely suck at training people. Obanai literally tied everyone he was supposed to be training to a post just to train tanjiro, sanemi was just torturing and beating up teenagers, and two of the hashiras didn’t even wanna train people. The only real helpful training was tengen and mitsuri because at least they didn’t have the intent to make the other corps members experience hell (and gyomei kinda). Not to mention rengoku has yet to be replaced, I’m sure there is someone who can step up to fill his role because the fact they have no backup plan if one or more of their hashiras succumb to injuries is wild to me. Lastly the only time the hashira do train people is when they pick one person who just ends up quitting because their training is always too hard……like how. I know tanjiro is the main character but he got through urokodaki’s training and he was a former hashira, so clearly these hashira are either just evil or suck at training people, or both. Sorry for the rant but this has been on my mind since the fourth season aired and it blows my mind how nobody has said a word about it yet. . . TLDR: The final selection is basically a death trap unless your a prodigy, there should be backup corps members to promote to hashira if one dies or retires, and the hashiras need to stop being evil and properly teach corps members (honestly they should be put through a training regiment by hashira(s) before they take an exam to find what style suits them and properly prepare them.)
The weirdest thing is the fact that every "generic" demon slayer we see, behaves like they've never really fought anything. They all look sloppy, scared and like they have no idea what they are doing. No way people we see in S4 passed the selection process because the all look like they have just picked up a sword.
@@mahistv Exactly, you’d thing since it takes some superhuman who’s been deadly with a sword since birth to pass the selection there would only be strong people but somehow these slayers fight like they’ve never seen a sword in their lives.
@@ImIraqqExactly and beside the hashira have anybody ever question why there are no other demon slayer ADULTS in this show, they are literally just only children who exist to die along with a lack of female recruitment for said slayer outside of that one girl that died on the mountain and Kanao
@@AzuriteEvolved Muichiro is literally 14 and shinobu was like 18 I’m pretty sure, ubuyashiki must have a thing for recruiting these kids to get offed by demons
I will try to answer some questions. 1) You are probably right about the final selection thing. I guess the idea is quality over quantity. 2) the Hashiras are not horrible teachers, most demon slayers just suck. Tanjiro surviving Urokodaki's training makes sense because water breathing is one of the easiest to learn. Learning Stone breathing is already out of the question because of the physics requirements to perform it. Sound breathing because of the speed requirements is out. Rengoku tried training students but they all ran away because of how brutal his training was. Only Mitsuri stayed but even she complained it was too hard and switched her form to suit her. I think to a certain degree, Slayers are expected to take initiative and change their breathing style to suit them but they never did. Learning the Breathing style is way harder than you think. In general, the whole demon slayer process is more of a natural selection where only the strong make it forward but the weak die off. Rengoku tried to change this in his gaiden but he failed and got depressed.
Not enough people my ass, 99.99 % of potential swordsmen are useless (look at the final exam, the spider arc and the hashira training arc). The core is getting carried by like 15-20 freaks of nature (Hashira and MC Squad) that can actually fight. It would probably be a lot more effective to convert like 50% of the less talented and dedicated majority into riflemen, maybe with magic sun-metal bayonets. The majority of demons (most below Akaza) could just be shot into a bubbling pile of meat on the floor and dispatched by one of the talented people with a sword or some rando with a bayonet/knife, it would still be cheaper in terms of material and lives.
I agree with that in vacuum, but I also want to make a video about it, cause it makes zero sense story-wise. No way the corps would have survived on just a few competent slayers for long. It has to be a "narration" device that meant to highlight the important characters, which I strongly disagree with.
@@mahistvThat is probably the biggest issue I have with Demon Slayer. I love the story, but there should have been more characters who are strong and useful in battle. They set up a rank system with 11 ranks (including Hashira) but only the Hashira rank means something, since everyone else is fodder. And the Hashira Training arc was a great opportunity to introduce new characters from higher ranks who could rival the main characters, but instead ended up widening the gap between Hashira, MCs and everyone else
@@filipeferreira5085 to be fair, most of the fights showcased are against the Twelve Kizuki and any Kizuki underlings. we don't really see average Slayer versus Demon fights and the Mt. Natagumo fight is a mismatched battle where the blood demon art utilized can easily manipulate the average slayer who didn't fully master their breathing techniques. Murata's a Water Breathing user who only learned the first two styles and it can be assumed that other weak breath users exist, especially when it was noted in the final battle that a random Water Breather fell in battle. We can assume that the average Slayer can perform well in average fights even against average Blood Demon Art users and we can hopefully see this in the trilogy movies animated. Still, I would have loved to see random slayers do at least the first move of their respective breathing styles to show that there are more breath users out there, they're not just as good or they're using the wrong breath
I have always said that the lower rank slayers should have wisteria poison with them. Like they should coat their swords in it so demons can’t regenerate from their wounds. I know he mentions his point in the video, but I’m still annoyed there is no cannon reason for the lack poison use.
because widespread usage and production isn't feasible? Shinobu is the only one with knowledge for it, and it takes weeks to create compounds for one fight
13:16 imagine if Muzan walking towards the boss's house only to be confronted with four of those robots in full Samurai armor at the entrance he would have had so much pdsd lol
I love how these video's are more focused on the world of demon slayer rather than just the characters, you did a great job expelling these theories people have had for a while. 👍👍
the fact that they survived for 1000 yrs against demons like these is the dumbest sht. and inoske being able to swap his organs + genya being able to turn into demon gets the 2nd place.
I laughed so hard about Inosuke able to swap his organs .. the fuck literally . Even in shows like Naruto when people can literally fly and Sasori whole body is a puppet and when he got stabbed in the heart he still fuckin die ! And Naruto is a show that people are literally reincarnation of God yet when they got stabbed in the heart they still fuckin dies! A better explanation would be because Inosuke grew up with nature , he is so flexible he is able to dodge it the last minute and tricked Daki thinking that she stabbed him in the heart and she missed it due to how quick reflex he has . Not “ able to move his organs “ Literally what the actual fuck
Why not have the swordsmen carry the guns as backup weapons instead of a dedicated person with a gun. Kind of like Sanemi did against Kokushibo They can decide when a gun is necessary and can make some cool gun sword combos.
@@Dokari-l9m True. But that's why it's a backup weapon and that's why you train them to make the shots count. For regular demons, these will be very effective
@@Problemsolver434 I would assume even the weaker demons would regenerate enough to take you down before you decapitate them. Groups of slayers could do it but at that point it’s an issue of logistics. Even though Japan was producing guns, the government has already been shown to not support the slayer corps. I would think they are more likely to ignore a group with swords than a group using massive amounts of guns
@@Dokari-l9m Well if you're in close combat and you manage to stun a demon with a good shot, that's more than enough to get a decisive sword swing in. And it's not like we haven't seen a slayer combine both weapons successfully
A keen detail to take note of is that demons are usually decades older than slayers. Gyomei would be considered an infant even against some of the younger members of the Twelve Kuzuki. I believe that after centuries of battle, slayers were beginning to rapidly grow stronger but were held back due to being newcomers and lacking a past history with the corps. You do realize nearly all the people there are basically middle schoolers, right? If Tanjiro were a trained grown-ass adult, Akaza would've been paste on the floor, and Kokushibo and Muzan would be slurring. Bear in mind Yoriichi with basically no training his entire life already blitzed a healthy Muzan whose burns have made him significantly weaker in the current time. Yes, demons are naturally superior to humans in terms of their physiology, but the slayers' potential far outweights that of any demon alive or dead.
That's something I brought up in my "DS corps sucks" video. And the way to solve it is by hiring a middle management and not kill off people during a test.
I always found it mind-boggling when demons with centuries of battle experience lose to a human who’s been a demon slayer for less than a decade. In the case of some hashira, 2 years.
I disagree . Even if Tanjiro was an adult … he is still a baby compared to Akaza … Akaza is over 300 years old … so I don’t think age makes a difference here though … and Rengoku was 20 when he died , he was an adult .
I'd argue the opposite that Muzon's demons are pretty much the epitome of wasted potential, since Muzon is just such a terrible progenitor/leader/clan head and pretty much they were all held back by him.
I think one problem with guns is reload time. Another could be building them. Since the Demon Slayer Corps has been around for so long, all its logistics and manufacturing are centred around swords. One gun and ammo for one guy is fine but for the whole corps, it will be difficult.
Any type of gun would work. As like he said they were mass produce before the event of the manga took place. They could just reverse engineer any bullet, to change its tip with a nicherin metal. Thus allowing it to fit into every gun. While they don't necessary have to carry large number of ammo, a few could be useful for close encounters. As they could carry it around as a backup weapons rather than having a dedicated person with a gun. Also the bullet doesn't need to hit the demon nape, any part of the body will be fine, as if it gets stuck, demons regeneration will be severally weakened. Allowing for a critical blow to be dealt. Well if the material rare, why don't they make alloy of it with any metal. So that the weapons tip has the highest concentration of demon killing metal so that it effective against demon
I can't tell which is easier to make, but guns were being produced for a while in Japan, surely they had craftsmen to head hunt for. As for reloading, Genya was doing alright, though it depends on the gun.
There are military strategies which account for the time needed to reload. Also I’m pretty sure the story takes place post-WW1. They likely can consistently produce them. If they can keep up the massive operation needed to keep making quality handmade swords for every slayer, they can do guns.
Shinobu said something that might prove she’s using a special type of poison. She said to tanjiro that she could use gentle type of poison to kill nezuko when they first met.
@@mahistvWhy would she be scared of the recipe leaking or demon's being immune, it's not like she's trying to profit from it or demons are actually trying to steal it
For Genya, I really want to know what made him decide to eat a demon. What gave him the idea to take a bit of a sample. For the Yoriichi Prototypes, it took decades to craft and master. For it to even come close to his breathing style, that's why that robot has six arms to be able to copy and be able to make his swordsman skill.
I never understood why kaguya never decided to experiment with sanemi's blood and wisteria poison, imagine a poison that intoxicates a demon making them sloppy and very quickly kills them and because they are intoxicated they most likely wont notice the wisteria poison and most defiantly wont be able to focus enough to adapt to it and to make it even better weaker versions of wisteria poisons like the ones uzuis wives had showed to be able to temporarily weaken gyutaro healing so just imagine the advantage this would be and I am aware it would be hard to preduce to just give to the upper echelon
Great video as always. I was always wondering why the retired hushira where not used to mass train the recruits. Then select stand out students for advanced training by active hashira. Seems like a no brainer to me
Apparently its for "not attracting attention" but I don't buy it. They definitely should have figured out some mass training, at least a few times a year.
What you forget about the gun parts is, that the government does not support the DSC - we can even see in the anime that having swords in cities is an issue - the DSC being armed like a militia with modern weapons would probably be an issue that the goverment cant ignore ... but a few dudes with swords in rural areas are not really a problem that needs attending
1- Even if you gave the poisonous swords to every demon slayer that wouldn't do anything since the weak demon slayers get speed blitz before they even realize and we know that douma was able to survive the poison because he get info from the spider family in other words you need new poison every single time you use one 2- about the American breathing again if the demon slayer is weak then he simply get speed blitz before he use it 3- the DS uniform is a new thing rengoku's father didn't have it in the flash back 4- I can't defend the robot thing but what if muzan stole one it will be the worst scenario 5- about the breathing styles we know in the hashira training that not everyone can learn it and some of them simply gave up when you mentality don't believe you can master it then it doesn't matter how much you train you will never learn it Those NPCs always see harshiras as monsters only tanjiro was the one who tried
1. Agreed, that's why I said it only matters in a "fair" 1 on 1. 2. Same as above. 3. Interesting, didn't notice that. Still not protecting much 4. I bet he'd get ptsd from Yoriichi and fumble 5. That's OK, just try something else or stick to lower ranks. Kinda like - not everyone has to be dragon slayers when goblins are much more plentiful and cause more harm.
1 and 2 are not really defending DS in my eyes and just reinforcing the fact that the regular slayers are useless cannon fodder in a supposedly elite organisation. Come on, untrained Tanjiro took out a demon around episode 2 (and almost killed a hashira in the 1st), you guys should be better than this. 3 might be true but the point still stands. 4 is strange as Muzan didn't really need stuff like this. If he wanted more strength he could've very well learn breathing styles or created more demons or something. As for 5... Why do you even need all this fodder then? We never seen any of those guys do anything useful except being contrasting backdrop for our totally awesome main characters. If you see that they can't fight then employ them as reconnaissance, blacksmiths, training dummies. Make them scout the whole Japan for talented people who might be more useful as combatants than them at least.

@@RedLights9000-f3l didn't know the last part, it's pretty cool I guess. Aside from that I feel like DS really fumbles with making regular slayers feel useful at all. Just a few encounters with them actually doing their job at some parts of the story would've gone a long way in my book.
@@MrLuzakman This I agree with. We are told that lower demons don't compare to the moons and can be dealt with easily. Showing the lower ranked slayers disposing of them would have been good. 15:39 So uh, this. Every main breathing style and by extension every breathing style originated from Sun breathing. This was done because certain people have different styles and attributes, so Sun breathing was adapted into the flame water wind and stone. Any of the offshoots are almost always character specific. Nobody can effectively use Love, sound or beast. Tanjiro can use water and thunder albeit not so effectively due to parts of Sun breathing giving birth to those styles
As for Yoroichi type 0, I'd recommend looking up early automatons. These were early "robots" that ran on everything from steam to clockwork, and later electricity. In our reality, these were mostly novelties, but their construction was usually somewhat secretive. The engineers who made them would often hide the schematics to avoid reverse engineering of their "product" as the automatons were usually used commercially to make money. Albeit dishonestly sometimes.
World Trigger does this the best. Their weapons, strategies, characters..... All of them are chef's kiss. You must watch that anime at least once. Everything that DS lacks is in World Trigger.
You know, a lot of Demon Slayer’s problems could be solved if they made Scarlet ore(Nichirin material) come from space. Which sounds insane I know but hear me out. Have the the Blue Spider Lily grow on a concentrated patch of Scarlet ore that came from space after a meteor shower or smth. And when it was turned into a medicine with other ingredients it made Muzan into a demon, where he and his minions did demon stuff and by proxy spilling the Scarlet ore across Japan. A couple years/decades later, people with special talents are born, like idk, having senses that go beyond human limits? Of course this culminates into Yoruichi who’s an anomaly/mutation whose not born as a human but as a Slayer(Superhuman). This would by proxy explain the visual effects of breathing styles, as they are closer to Blood Demon Art than not, heck you can even have it as only Slayers and Demons being able to see them cause of higher concentration of Scarlet ore. This would also make Hashiras as Freaks of Nature that are necessary to eliminate the demons with the rest of the Demon Slayer Corp just being normal humans who are there to support them. +The Slayer Mark offing it’s user early could stem form the fact the human body is just not built for it(excluding Yoruichi) Tl,dr: Magic space rock go brrrrrr P.s you could probably wring out some more reasons out of this, I’m not cause I don’t want youtube to delete this comment.
@@Bestjokermain yeah, and so is becoming an immortal being who consumes humans and uses their own blood as weapons, or breathing so good you stop blood loss, your point?
I can definitely see guns being used as a way to salvage as much nichirin metal as possible. Simply if a new sword has to be made completely. melt the og sword into bullets
For your points mahis A blade vs kunaj hurting gyutaro is all about surface area, a blade has a lot more surface compared to the point of a dagger (a piercing weapon, usually) just try poking yourself then try it with something sharper, it’s easy to hurt yourself with a needle vs your finger due to surface area and how little area is affected by the force For guns, yes a few weeks of training would make you a decent shooter and reloader, against a stationary target, if a target is moving, things become way harder, and breathing is just as important in marksmanship as it is in shooting, an unsteady breathing rate will throw your aim off Everything else you said makes sense, and the mangaka might have thought of some things and not know others, it is also possible they forget about aspects as the story went on
I thought about that (surface area) But we saw that sometimes blades break on contact (Sabito), meaning that the flesh is nigh impenetrable without proper breathing. However. The poison might make it penetrate, because it starts working immediately. I can argue it both ways. Good point. I was definitely exaggerating with only a few weeks, but it will take considerably less time than teaching how to swing a sword. Thank you, I think Mangaka just created something that looks/sounds cool without much though of practicality. It is what it is
I feel like you’re vastly underestimating the effectiveness of guns. Part of what makes them so valuable today is that you can toss them at someone, train them for a month, and you have a fighter. You don’t need to be accurate or worry about breathing when you’ve got a line of them, and a few people behind ready to step and fire as the front reloads.
I feek like Shinobu shouldve had a few students under her wing or shouldve been a trainer herself. Insect breathing is such a good alternative. Plus, its been shown that most of the demon slayers are except for like the 1% cant slay demons.
@@mahistvspoiler Shinobu also would be worried about not having enough poison, since she spent 4 years drinking it to kill the demon who ate her, more targeted to döma but still
We see in the show that wisteria is quite abundant. Although they bloom 1-3 times a year, it doesn’t take much to poison a demon. It doesn’t necessarily have to kill them to be useful The only problem I find is having to to have a modify scabbard to actually conveniently use it Although, there could be backup knife with tiny modify scabbards. Is for the less inexperience slayers
Even if they use wisteria tools to poison the demons, it wont outright kill them. But it does weak them greatly. If I was a demon I would attack from a distance. As some demon slayers don't have breathing, or haven't mastered it. Most of them are young too.
@@Tootsuba if you were a demon you wouldn’t start out with a demon art. You can’t attack in distance, all you would have is your claws. We seen the extent wisteria do to demons, the literally scent wards off weak demons. Even the upper moons are prone to wisteria poison to an extent Even if the demon slayer was extremely weak, it would take much to prick your skin. As you’re also a new demon, Ofc, it’s not full proof plan but it’s better than not
17:50 a small issue with the point here (from what I can tell) is that age is a big factor in demon slayer, Even though they didn't remember about marks until post-gyokko and hantengu, And the only way we see most slayers managing to beat UPMs is via the assistance of a mark.
As much as I love the KiMIDsu slander, I realized the problem with guns is even bigger because nothing is stopping the villains to give guns to their pawns and f*ing obliterate Slayers like when riflemen battalions were first introduced in Feudal Japan. PS: "Demon's Pride" remains as a bs argument.
I say it in other comments and I say it here this series would just make so much more sense taking place around the Meji Restoration where Japan is only starting modernizing and getting decently modern fire arms.
For the gun thing, I believe it's because of a stigma against using them (especially considering the setting of Taisho era Japan) and also how much it goes against tradition. It's likely not considered to be nearly as respectable as actually learning a breathing technique and using a blade (this also adds to Genya's character as well).
also thank you for talking about how no one else has a breathing style, thats one thing in the show that made me mad like i get that they are side characters but atp it's just fodder
What bugs me the most is that breathing styles and crow magic never get explained... The mechanical dolls are probably worth more than a hundred trained slayers... per piece! - and they're not intelligent enough to carry out missions on their own. Guns, explosives and poisons should realistically play a bigger role in the story. Similarly, it's, as you've stated, absolute lunacy, that they do not preserve the their most precious knowledge... and that there's no way that the state isn't aware of them...
Breathing Styles do exist and their effects are all real, it's the visuals that are only seen by the viewer for effect, but everything you see is felt by the Demons. The one thing Demon Slayers don't have is the ability to manipulate and create elements from thin air, since this would fuck up the entire course of history in the Demon Slayer world and it would no longer be historically accurate to the era, a hard magic system humans have acces to would make it impossible to believe Japanese history is pretty much exactly the same as it is in our world barring the events of the story They have every ability mentioned and described in the manga, the one thing they don't have is the ability to materialize real elements like water or fire, even though their effects are real just as we see them
You know this is Taisho era, right? Yoriichi Type-0 is a Karakuri, more similar to an automaton and actually useless against demons. Automatons is an old invention that can only move on a pattern set. It is not really a robot and cannot adapt to the oponent.
It's says in the manga that the poison has different effects over every demon, for gyutaro it must have canceled his regen, while with Doma it began to destroy his cells
ah you're still doing the criticism of demon slayer, love to see it, makes a great topic to think about and comment, I remember like over a year ago I commented on I think three? of your videos might comment later when it's day time in my region, so I can hear the video
Of course I do, it's my bread and butter. The new season is out too so there is a lot to talk about. Welcome back by the way, I think you commented on more videos than that
I mean, just give a showgun to a regular slayer and a couple of weeks of training and you significantly improve said slayer... The dolls could have countless uses, just have like 10 defending the village for a starter...
@@mahistv Exactly, you dont have to use it all the times, just as an emergency tool. It's easy to use, especially if you dont rely on it to cut a Demon's head, and it's an effective sidearm. It's also kinda laughable now no one in the DS corps uses sidearms, either the swords break at the end of the fight or the sword breaking ends the fight xD
One thing I don’t get, and I hope you cover, is why didn’t Muzan just wage an actual war against them and win? He can realistically build an army on his own in less than a year. Not even accounting for other demons also using their blood to make demons. Even if they didn’t want to listen to him, he’d likely be able to scare them into submission; as he does with the Moons who are far more powerful. It’s shown most Slayers are weak. They’re carried by a few central, strong people. If Muzan actually used some tactics to hit their production, training, food, medicine, etc. he could easily begin to wear them out. If he needs information, he could take families hostage and fill the corps full of spies. Spies who could also sabotage them from within. Not only that, if he had just backed off after taking out Ubyashiki, he’d have cut off the Slayers main source of information and funding. He could have just pressed on them over time until they fell apart. Do you think it would have been possible for him to coordinate and win an actual conflict?
There is no actual reason, he just didn't. Which is something I criticized among multiple videos and something I will address in my review of S4. He literally could have won at any point in recent history, except after all the Upper Moons died.
I think it's because Muzan's biggest flaw is his arrogance - we see him time and time again saying that demons shouldn't lose to humans because they are superior creatures. Even when he's contradicted (upper moons being killed), he doesn't back down on this claim. If he put his ego aside and fought strategically, he'd def win using the methods you listed above, but that would mean viewing humans as legit threats and he'd never "demean" himself by doing that. Instead, he relies on brute force alone and that leads to his downfall. Canonically he possesses "genius-level intellect", but we don't actually see him apply it to battle lol.
The only thing I disagree about is guns. You can still give all the Demon Slayers the same training, and also provide them with basic firearms. Like you said, it can at the very least be used to hind or slow down average demons, which would significantly increase the survivability of a typical slayer.
And also I totally face palmed during the swordsmen selection … 20 of them went in only 5 survived … apparently they have demons to kill the swordsmen but the “ hand fat demon “ was alive for 30 to 40 years and ate 50 people in the forest ?! Why didn’t the Hashira get rid of him ? They seriously think Newbies can fight a demon like this ? If they could then 50 people wouldn’t get killed by the SAME demon …
Well, the people who found that thing didn't live long enough to notify anyone... Unless they knew about the existence of the hand demon, there's nothing to be done. As the examinee we saw said: most demons were killed in the first years or ended up killing each other.
@@Hiraishin247 then they suck at doing their job than . One one hand demon was able to wipe out 50 people by himself imagine there are more than one . 7:02 Ok but then.... WHY TF don't the Kakushi's have gus for self defense? Heck...WHY didn't the Swordsmith Village have macineguns towers as further security?! They wouldn't *NEED* to hide if any demon that even tries to step into the damn place immediately gets bombarded with a rain of Demon Slaying bullets. They wouldn't even need to be as accurate as more likely than not, *ONE* of the 1000 random shots fired in half a minute should (statistical speaking) be able to jit a Demon's neck🤷♂️
Ok, tower machineguns sounds not only cool, but very doable, as the certainly existed. But here is thing. A rain of Nichirin Bullets would be impossible because of how rare the ore is. Regular bullets fired from a minigun would suffice, cause then the guarding slayers can finish it off
@@mahistv True... ... Maybe add some special bullets that make debris on impact that impail themselves into the demons to slow down their healing😅 Like the ones used in the Demon Slayer HQ explosion against Muzan to slow down his healing even just temporarily
Firearms and explosives should be used far more often since the show is set in 1912. Like, imagine some Demon Slayers getting issued Browning Auto 5 shotgun or M1897 shotguns that can slam fire. Buckshot, which is very common, hold 8 pellets. That would easily decimate an Upper Moon with a shogun at range with a long barrel like the Browning Auto 5. They could also have Spearmen to hold the line since it was the most effective weapon back then and it has been proven that 1 spearman can hold back up to 3 people. Basically a Shot and Pike formation. But the show does lacks showing Demon Slayers having any sort of command structure out in the field like forming a squad with a squad leader, instead just tossing whoever at the problem which is just an utter waste of manpower.
They kinda explain why the demon core dosnt have a ton of guns, and that is because Genya got the first one, and then the rest of the plot happened. Had they started making guns a year ago, then the Swordsmith arc would be a lot different.
Maybe not as a main weapon, but surely a support pocket shotgun (even loaded with regular pellets) would be a good way for weaker slayers to create openings in their fights if taught properly. You could even impregnate the pellets with the weaker (easier to access and make) poison, facilitating delivery, and effectiveness.
Yeah, a lot of the world building and the Demon Slayer Corp in general don't make much sense. But the fights between slayers and demons are so creative and fun to watch, that those flaws are easy to overlook.
The thought of demised demon slayer's nichirin katana getting recycled is a great way of use though I relent it may seen as dishonorable in Japan but demon slayer is not bound by it
17:00 everyone in final selection already is a breather, for example murata is canonically a water breather. Genya is one of the only slayers that cannot use breathing techniques.
@@mahistv Oh. I didn't know that Taisho was early 1900s. Which means Yoriichi type Zero's existence is justified as most mechanical implements were implemented during the 18th century globally and a little later in Japan as well.
To explain the random Kunai in Gyutaro’s neck, notice how Tengen moves in and has a Kunai on his face, notice how it immediately disappears when the Kunai is stuck into Gyutaro’s neck. Tengen pried it off his face an threw it into his neck.
But the angle wouldn't make sense. How would he land a kunai perpendicular to his movement AND what would be the point, when it would have lost most of it's poison after hitting Tengen
Well, thanks for asking, didn’t think I’d get the opportunity to debate. Well, for the angle, I’m assuming Tengen intentionally went for the side of the throat with, what I’m assuming is, a plot-convenient Kunai throw that’s like a curve ball, because the side of the neck has a lot of blood vessels, making it really effective if it hit an artery. Second, the author probably didn’t think much of losing the poison once stabbing someone, but if it is coated with wisteria on the outside blade part, then kind of pointless, so we kind of have to assume demons soak up wisteria, against their will, and that’s what makes things like flowers dangerous, it’s probably transdermal, too, the Kunai just makes it slightly more effective since it acts like a projectile sponge of wisteria, if you catch my flow. Thank you, for replying to the comment, you’re quite the diligent RUclipsr, kind of rare to ever get a chance to debate like this.
The demon slayers who struggle with sword fighting (actually all slayers should) should also get nitchren blades covered in wisteria poision, and also guns with explosive bullets, or coded in wisteria poision, so if they can't fight with the sword a range weapon, and poision will help to weaken them. Also give Shinobu a gun 2, she is easly one of the most important slayers in the show! Also why isnt their more people duel welding, Innosuke is a prime example of how overpowered it can be, like if one sword breaks you have another. And also, slayers could try and adapt breathing styles to be stronger with 2 swords. So many possibilities!
For the posion thing i think it more so boils down to communication, daki was the main body to communicate with Muzan so my guess is she just never asked or thought she wouldnt ever get killed by posion like that.
@@mahistv like when we first get shown to Daki she seems to be the one who's the poster child for the siblings when it comes to interacting and talking with Muzan. Gyuataro seems to have an amicable relationship with him possibly due to him wanting to continue as his debt collector persona, but outside of that with Daki we see that she's not really the smartest out of the two so in my eyes, she just doesn't seem like she would actually check in on other demons that aren't Muzan or her older brother. Not saying she can't since all demons essentially function as a hive mind.
I wonder whether the training dummy used a blood demon art from a "good" demon (like Tamayo) to allow it to function. Maybe the magic was in the key needed to start the dummy. We've definitely seen more fantastical powers. I'm not sure why the corp doesn't try to gain more demon collaborators. After their first hunger motivated attack (where they will attack family), most demons become much more rational. They seem to be able to do their own thing as long as they don't say Muzan's name so why not offer them blood or cadavers to provide training for the slayers and blood demon art powers. I'm sure many demons might accept that offer so they could live without having to kill or worry about being hunted down (like the weak demons who Rui took in)
1:35 OR, a big shocker, Shinobu is distributing the wisteria poison to members of the Hashira. Some more potent such as the one she uses for her tipped blade, and some that are less potent, such as previous versions of the current potent poison (those less potent previous poisons might have: - faster internal distribution - slower expiration when exposed to air - longer effectiveness. Allowing such versions to ve used by other demon slayers depending on their fighting style not only allows for a special edge for such slayers, it also enables Shinobu to distribute poisons that probably took multiple resource to make to be put to good use instead of being disposed of.)
God there’s really missed potential with the story. Like why aren’t there different units for each speciality? Like there should be a unit where their training focuses on guns, but still need learn some sword techniques- a unit that focuses on breathing techniques etc. Since wisteria poison is still new, then there should be a special unit that are trained to use wisteria poison, it makes absolutely no sense an organization doesn’t take advantage of a weakness. Also is crazy how they just send Shinobu to battle-the creator of the poison, and the only person who knows how to use it. Story would’ve been better if the government were involved, I’m now just watching Evangelion, and love how there’s a government fraction to specifically defeat the angels, even though they are rare. Also could’ve make some cool political storylines with it too. God wished this series had good world building- I freaking love the designs of these characters.
That's what I'm saying. Where is the science department for example? I mean actual scientists who don't fight at all and just research demons and means of fighting them. Or categorizing blood demon arts and finding general countermeasures.
12:50 The "spaceshuttle" of 1400's and 1500's were made by head, the portuguese carpenter wrote nothing about their carracks and caravels, mainly due to spionage
If I remember correctly the poison doesn't have to be unique the _first_ time you use it on a given demon, but if it doesn't die the first time it'll adapt to the mix. * * * * * * * On the Yoriichi Type-0 It's an automaton, a clockwork robot that cycles through action sequences driven by a gear system. We're told by the dude who operates it that it has to be manually set to whatever level of combat which is in keeping with other automata. The art of building automata as a whole is thousands of years old, but making a complex one was difficult and expensive due to the intricacy of the mechanisms involved, which had to be made and assembled by hand for most of history. The idea that something like that could be lost is also quite plausible. It goes without saying that the Type-0 is lightyears ahead of any other automaton, so not something the average artisan can make by hand. And there have been plenty of times when someone just simply didn't write something down for whatever reason. Like the robot prop that they used for Doctor Who in the seventies that was built for a failed production years before that they didn't have any instructions for, and the dude who eventually figured out how to work it didn't write the instructions down either and died before filming We also know that Kokushibo slaughtered everyone he knew of that knew what Sun Breathing looked like which probably included the Type-0's creators, so that also probably contributed. * * * * * * * On the training and Final selection I agree wholeheartedly that their certification standards are lacking. The Final Selection problem in particular, if the absolutely _must_ do the whole survival challenge thing, could be solved by one simple twist on the formula. JUST TEAM UP YOU ABSOLUTE DONKEYS!! There's absolutely no reason that they have to run around like headless chickens getting picked off one by one. Just form groups and swarm the bastards.
1. I don't recall this type of wording, it was never explicitly said anyway, so hard to know for sure. 2. I get that, but when you create something so extraordinary, you couldn't have been alone, meaning that there was some type of communication involved. Not to mention that they should have had failed prototypes and so on. 3. Agreed, the whole thing is messed up on so many levels.
The reason those guns exist is because some of the demon corp have more trouble learning a breathing style than others, so it's a means to an end while they complete training through missions.
The Slayer Exams probably are the worst way to strengthen your forces we're reaching Muzan levels of stupid, Hashira Potential Talent ends up dying by fighting demons, while weaker slayers are rewarded for hiding and cowering in numbers.
mahistv,i'm wondering how strong would a demon slayer be if he/she is armed with a nichirin bullet gun laced with wisteria poison or learned sun breathing with genya's demon eating abilities
Most people: I use swords and cuts to fight demons! Shinobu: I use poisons and science to fight demons! Genya: Guns. And when that doesn’t work, use more guns.
About guns, in japan guns were very frowned on especially that era too there was a time japan was on lock down to prevent stuff from other countries coming in the countries so it makes sense why they discourage it because not only is it impossible to kill higher rank demons in a 1v1 (they can dodge and a gun is hard to defend yourself with) people also need to train to shoot exactly right imagine having all things thrown at you and you need to sit still at the exact moment to aim correctly not to mention the reload time Onto wisteria, im also surprised they dont use it more but i can see why to an extent it doesnt grow year round only the final selection place but you cant use it from there bc that wisteria serves to keep the demons in the final selection so they have to use some that are sold on the martket and with how many core members there are and they need new ones every battle it can get hard also shinobu has been using this technique for a couple years so maybe it wasnt certain at that point yet or the chance demon would gain immunity was too high which would be worse since all the hashira estates are protected by wisteria (we never see 💀 that was the reason muzan was admitting fog that one walking scene bc he was tanking it) About the robot, I fully agree I cant lie only thing i can say is the robot cant make a strategy by itself so demons could outsmart it but thats it Also the training seems unconventional I do wish they went more in depth on the background characters and gave them unique weapons but they are all copy and paste im not believing they were trained by old hashira so how do they even know ahout demons would be their bloodline always fought against demons but that would make less sense as why they are so weak but whatever thats all i wanted to yap about
I think you forgot about the concept of a sidearm Shoot eith the shotty while you close the distance and then slice. It also lets your team know your location and that you are fighting
1. Only a special type of fire (Nezukos Blood Demon Art) has been seen really harming a demon (breathing styles don’t actually produce fire), with Gutaro straight up being unphased while there was fire surrounding him. In the last episode of the Hashira Training arc, Muzan was literally on fire while he was regenerating, only really slowed because of other things places in the explosives. Second, flamethrowers are heavy and hard to carry
@@onshlaught Well I was thinking "video game logic". Or maybe even Firepunch manga (or whatever it's called). Regular fire will still burn, won't kill, but it's something.
Honestly this video shows that how much are Demon Slayer lacks in basic storytelling and world building and I myself question a lot of basic things like breathing styles, the training, costume, and how does the common people doesn't know that these Slayer existed even though Japan has a long deep rooted history of demons and yokais and especially Yoriicgi type zero you cannot convince me saying that this type of thing happened in taisho era ok even if it is fiction but I find it so stupid that how they could make a robot in this era and about the wisteria poison, I do agree and I wish that the writer expanded this a lot more that how Shinobu use it and how she created different versions of the poison depending on the demons that she fights and honestly she's one of the most fascinating and well written characters and a really wish that she got expanded more and honestly I would like to see that how she know who shares her poison to some of her Tsugukos and slayers because I think that it would be a lot more benifital to atleast defeat normal demons and Shinobu is a big helper and an asset to the Corps that they should be lucky to have her but the Mangaka really wasted a lot of characters in the show even her but I still love her she's still well written and important tho. And I have a very major criticism regarding the entertainment district arc when I was watching the entertainment district arc I was thinking that this was just a normal place where women work and that's it like just hearing the word entertainment I thought that this is a place for men and women come to party and all but when I searched what entertainment district actually is I was so disturbed and shocked and the series doesn't even tell that these women are sex workers and I was so shocked when I searched this in internet and see the vast history and I was so shocked and felt sorry for those women at the time that suffered this treatment in taisho era and even edo era and I didn't like that how Demon Slayer show the red light district in such a positive light that women here are happy, they are not suffering from the discrimination that get and also when they show one of the brothels it literally looks more like a hotel than a brothel really I first thought that before searching what entertainment district actually is and the Mangaka didn't even bother to explain what are the prostitutes are of this era and how they are being treated at that era and how this impacted Tanjiro , Inosuke and Zenitsu who literally disguise themselves as women to defeat the demons in the entertainment district I was so disappointed with this arc especially that I know that what actually it is that is a place where women sell their bodies for money I was so disturbed and I was 14 years old when I saw Demon Slayer season 2 and there was nobody to tell me what entertainment or red light district is, and honestly the mangaka could explore this thing with Daki's character that how as a child she has to sell her body, her self-respect and her dignity for money and how she was herself being disturbed and not happy doing all of this but for her brother she have to do that but we never get this super perspective from her character at all what do we know is from Gyutaro's perspective of what he thinks of his sister but he never know that what his sister ever wanted
I usually let them be. Historically Japan has a long history of closing off to outsiders, and how strongly they keep their traditions. Regardless, the one thing I do really wanted to see implemented was the Hashira training. They have ranks? Then use them! Higher ones take the newbies as trainees, test their effective breathing techniques and send them to a dividion that teaches it, build experience, and THEN get them to the test. That way they get XP before graduating, and make extensive ise of the crowd to determine a demon's level so you don't end up sending 20 newbies to fight a Moon (Ryu)
"The Demon slayers would have won easily if Shinobu..." There is a million different ways the Slayers could have defeated the Demons easily if they took advantage of Shinobu properly, that i also think Shinobu is also incompetent.
I didn't say that, nor do I think that they'd win simply because of Shinobu. Her suspicions turned out to be correct - the Upper Moons could almost instantly deal with the poison, so if they were to spend some time fighting against it, they've built up a resistance
Why couldnt they make a grenade or explosive trap using those special shotgun pellets? At least for the shotgun you could argue that the user would have to point it at the demon from range and the demon might have enough of a heads up to dodge the blast. If they were caught off guard or the pellets were propelled faster and in a much wider AoE then they'd definitely get hit and likely shredded by it allowing for an easier kill.
just have the poison is a grease form and smmear the blade befre the fight, any help is good even if it weakns the demon by 10% you could win. and it's not like you could't slash a weak demon. also the fact that wisceria is unique to shinobu for like 3 years is just bad organizing. also some light leather armor in places like chest and joints would help a lot (compared to a pajama)
The reason that Shinobu has a greater poison is because you need a higher amount for a higher effect, like on gyutaro it wasn't alot so he only got stunned while for douma he got flooded with poison therefore killing him.

It is also implied that the Nichirin color each Slayer possesses is associated with their respective suited breathing style:
Black = Sun
Blue = Water
Green = Wind
Red = Flame
Gray = Stone
Yellow = Thunder
We can also understand why Tanjiro could use Water and Thunder Breathing because, just as white light is composed of every single color, a Sun Breathing user can adjust to every single breathing style.
That's basically if a boxer tried to use kicks, they are just not trainned and used to it so it will be less effective.
The nichrin colours are not tied to the breathing styles
@@CristianDuta-d9d nah bro, since zenitsu got struck by a lighting he got a lot of leg strenght, which is perfect for the thunderbreathing
My point exactly, but it's fun thinking about it

Why not have the swordsmen carry the guns as backup weapons instead of a dedicated person with a gun. Kind of like Sanemi did against Kokushibo
They can decide when a gun is necessary and can make some cool gun sword combos.
Yes, that can be an option, I doubt a sawed-off will be a nuisance to carry when they can push ginormous boulders around
How much of the metal they use for swords can be spent on bullets they can’t recover? At a certain point you can’t spend it all on bullets.

1- Even if you gave the poisonous swords to every demon slayer that wouldn't do anything since the weak demon slayers get speed blitz before they even realize and we know that douma was able to survive the poison because he get info from the spider family in other words you need new poison every single time you use one
2- about the American breathing again if the demon slayer is weak then he simply get speed blitz before he use it
3- the DS uniform is a new thing rengoku's father didn't have it in the flash back
4- I can't defend the robot thing but what if muzan stole one it will be the worst scenario
5- about the breathing styles we know in the hashira training that not everyone can learn it and some of them simply gave up when you mentality don't believe you can master it then it doesn't matter how much you train you will never learn it

Still, it should be taught in some capacity, because chances are people will find the one that works for them, or create a new one.
@@mahistv It is taught. Rengoku had students, so did Gyomei and also Urokodaki.
I understand that, but what kind of a dick you need to be to hide a schematic to a weapon that can save people?
World Trigger does this the best. Their weapons, strategies, characters..... All of them are chef's kiss. You must watch that anime at least once. Everything that DS lacks is in World Trigger.

Also an option
Give everyone wisteria Guns and a sword for a backhand and they would’ve had muzan’s head in like two weeks lol
That's be too much)
For your points mahis
A blade vs kunaj hurting gyutaro is all about surface area, a blade has a lot more surface compared to the point of a dagger (a piercing weapon, usually) just try poking yourself then try it with something sharper, it’s easy to hurt yourself with a needle vs your finger due to surface area and how little area is affected by the force
For guns, yes a few weeks of training would make you a decent shooter and reloader, against a stationary target, if a target is moving, things become way harder, and breathing is just as important in marksmanship as it is in shooting, an unsteady breathing rate will throw your aim off
Everything else you said makes sense, and the mangaka might have thought of some things and not know others, it is also possible they forget about aspects as the story went on
I thought about that (surface area) But we saw that sometimes blades break on contact (Sabito), meaning that the flesh is nigh impenetrable without proper breathing.
I think it's her paranoia of "overusing" the poison kicking in. She was too afraid of demons becoming immune somehow

She trained kanao though and 3 others but they all died except for kanao it’s why she so strong and went 1v1 with douma
We see in the show that wisteria is quite abundant. Although they bloom 1-3 times a year, it doesn’t take much to poison a demon. It doesn’t necessarily have to kill them to be useful
The only problem I find is having to to have a modify scabbard to actually conveniently use it
Although, there could be backup knife with tiny modify scabbards.
Even the upper moons are prone to wisteria poison to an extent
Even if the demon slayer was extremely weak, it would take much to prick your skin. As you’re also a new demon,
Ofc, it’s not full proof plan but it’s better than not
17:50 a small issue with the point here (from what I can tell) is that age is a big factor in demon slayer, Even though they didn't remember about marks until post-gyokko and hantengu, And the only way we see most slayers managing to beat UPMs is via the assistance of a mark.
As much as I love the KiMIDsu slander, I realized the problem with guns is even bigger because nothing is stopping the villains to give guns to their pawns and f*ing obliterate Slayers like when riflemen battalions were first introduced in Feudal Japan.
PS: "Demon's Pride" remains as a bs argument.
i'm pretty sure one of the demons actually uses guns. i think his name was hairo
they could go doomslayer on them but nah
Lower moon 2 had guns, but was killed by rengoku (on his gaiden)
I say it in other comments and I say it here this series would just make so much more sense taking place around the Meji Restoration where Japan is only starting modernizing and getting decently modern fire arms.
adding guns to fantasy kind of ruins it because much like in real life 99% of your problems can be solved with enough bullets to the right place.
For the gun thing, I believe it's because of a stigma against using them (especially considering the setting of Taisho era Japan) and also how much it goes against tradition. It's likely not considered to be nearly as respectable as actually learning a breathing technique and using a blade (this also adds to Genya's character as well).

I mean, just give a showgun to a regular slayer and a couple of weeks of training and you significantly improve said slayer...
The dolls could have countless uses, just have like 10 defending the village for a starter...
I say carry a sawed-off at all time, it won't hurt nor slow you down, but it just might win you a few seconds in a pinch.
Very fair, a gun won't be a hindrance given their superhuman strength and may win them a second or two in a pinch.
Welcome back mahis sama
Thank you! (still sound like shit though, but it's going away)
Guess because people die at final selection so much Kagaya just be like” oh well , this is normal . It is what it is . Without even knowing the demons are getting way too strong for newbies
@@LKelz he probably killed around 1 or 2 a year searching for little foxes (Urokodaki's students), and then hid underground.
1 or 2 is not so noticeable, there's even a year where only trainee died (Sabito), for all they knew Sabito's Nichirin sword broke apart for overuse.
@@Hiraishin247 I think all of urokodaki’s student died ? And Urdokodaki taught all of them breathing styles… so yeah that’s .. a lot that he was able to kill skillful newbies and grow so big somehow kagaya didn’t ask people to check the inside seeing any of them didn’t become to powerful like … that ?
@@LKelz Except for Giyu, Urokodaki blamed himself, he thought his teaching techniques were wrong, so he didn't think a strong demon was responsible for the death of his disciples.
He himself told Tanjiro he didn't want to send another kid to die, that's why for his final test, Tanjiro wasn't supposed to be able to cut the Boulder.
7:02
Ok but then....
Regular bullets fired from a minigun would suffice, cause then the guarding slayers can finish it off
@@mahistv True...
...
Maybe add some special bullets that make debris on impact that impail themselves into the demons to slow down their healing😅
Like the ones used in the Demon Slayer HQ explosion against Muzan to slow down his healing even just temporarily
I think those were just normal metal makibishi.
I think so too
The thought of demised demon slayer's nichirin katana getting recycled is a great way of use though I relent it may seen as dishonorable in Japan but demon slayer is not bound by it
17:00 everyone in final selection already is a breather, for example murata is canonically a water breather. Genya is one of the only slayers that cannot use breathing techniques.
Oh, and electrical cables in the TAISHO ERA??? (Entertainment district; Daki hits an electrical pole after being kicked by Nezuko for the first time).
Yeah, what's wrong with that? Electricity was brought into Japan around 1890ish and Taisho is early 1900s
I'm not sure what you mean
I'm sure many demons might accept that offer so they could live without having to kill or worry about being hunted down (like the weak demons who Rui took in)
Great video Mahis
Thank you, glad you liked it!

Thank you!
400yrs ago their were automatons in japan, they applied concepts of clockwork & puppetry - karakuri
Well yes, but that's comparing an inflated condom to a zeppelin. It's not in the same universe.
1:35 OR, a big shocker, Shinobu is distributing the wisteria poison to members of the Hashira. Some more potent such as the one she uses for her tipped blade, and some that are less potent, such as previous versions of the current potent poison (those less potent previous poisons might have:
- faster internal distribution
- slower expiration when exposed to air
- longer effectiveness.
Terrific video with great points. Thanks, Mahis!

If I remember correctly the poison doesn't have to be unique the _first_ time you use it on a given demon, but if it doesn't die the first time it'll adapt to the mix.

On the Yoriichi Type-0
It's an automaton, a clockwork robot that cycles through action sequences driven by a gear system.
Like the robot prop that they used for Doctor Who in the seventies that was built for a failed production years before that they didn't have any instructions for, and the dude who eventually figured out how to work it didn't write the instructions down either and died before filming
We also know that Kokushibo slaughtered everyone he knew of that knew what Sun Breathing looked like which probably included the Type-0's creators, so that also probably contributed.

On the training and Final selection
I agree wholeheartedly that their certification standards are lacking.
Shame we don't see more of them
They could also put the wisteria poison on the pellets, that would stun the demon even more than the pellets themselves already would
Didn't Mythbusters test that and it didn't work?
The Slayer Exams probably are the worst way to strengthen your forces we're reaching Muzan levels of stupid, Hashira Potential Talent ends up dying by fighting demons, while weaker slayers are rewarded for hiding and cowering in numbers.
My point exactly
6:38 I am enamored by the raw reloading skill.
It's crazy!
@@mahistv I've never seen such amazing anime t... skills
Honestly since this is Taisho era now, Demon Slayers have plenty of arsenal they could have from WWI
mahistv,i'm wondering how strong would a demon slayer be if he/she is armed with a nichirin bullet gun laced with wisteria poison or learned sun breathing with genya's demon eating abilities
Very strong, almost as strong as plot armored Tanjiro
Most people: I use swords and cuts to fight demons!
Shinobu: I use poisons and science to fight demons!
Genya: Guns. And when that doesn’t work, use more guns.
Boomstick is the shit
@@mahistv damn right
The reason why there is only one insect/ poison is because there all dead :[ there were 4 of them
There is only one who was using poisons - Shinobu, I don't remember there being anyone else. Her sister used Flower Breathing
About guns, in japan guns were very frowned on especially that era too there was a time japan was on lock down to prevent stuff from other countries coming in the countries so it makes sense why they discourage it because not only is it impossible to kill higher rank demons in a 1v1 (they can dodge and a gun is hard to defend yourself with) people also need to train to shoot exactly right imagine having all things thrown at you and you need to sit still at the exact moment to aim correctly not to mention the reload time
Onto wisteria, im also surprised they dont use it more but i can see why to an extent it doesnt grow year round only the final selection place but you cant use it from there bc that wisteria serves to keep the demons in the final selection so they have to use some that are sold on the martket and with how many core members there are and they need new ones every battle it can get hard also shinobu has been using this technique for a couple years so maybe it wasnt certain at that point yet or the chance demon would gain immunity was too high which would be worse since all the hashira estates are protected by wisteria (we never see 💀 that was the reason muzan was admitting fog that one walking scene bc he was tanking it)
About the robot,
I fully agree I cant lie only thing i can say is the robot cant make a strategy by itself so demons could outsmart it but thats it
Also the training seems unconventional
I do wish they went more in depth on the background characters and gave them unique weapons but they are all copy and paste im not believing they were trained by old hashira so how do they even know ahout demons would be their bloodline always fought against demons but that would make less sense as why they are so weak but whatever thats all i wanted to yap about
dont forget about the American blood demon art
Was that dude canon? I got myself confused about him
@@mahistv the demon slayer manga is from Gotouge Hoyaharu, however, kimetsu no yaiba gaiden is from Hirano Ryouji

I think you forgot about the concept of a sidearm
Shoot eith the shotty while you close the distance and then slice.
It also lets your team know your location and that you are fighting
Yeah, that's totally an option
What about a flamethrower or a Molotov? Fire is usually a counter to regeneration
Huh, haven't really thought about that. Can you reliably set a demon on fire like that? I feel like they will have enough mobility to escape
There will be a lot of problems with that, one of them being collateral damage.
@mahistv Well an explosion almost reduced Muzan body to cinders so yes fire can still affect them
They should have used UV light to fight against the demons. UV breathing first form - “switch on the power!”
I don't think it's UV. Instead, it must be some type of solar radiation, as UV is not stored in ore.

Yes, doing something interesting with ranks would have been great

"The Demon slayers would have won easily if Shinobu..."
There is a million different ways the Slayers could have defeated the Demons easily if they took advantage of Shinobu properly, that i also think Shinobu is also incompetent.
I didn't say that, nor do I think that they'd win simply because of Shinobu. Her suspicions turned out to be correct - the Upper Moons could almost instantly deal with the poison, so if they were to spend some time fighting against it, they've built up a resistance
NICHIRIN MUSKET WITH NICHIRIN BAYONETT GOES BRRRR
Can't easily decapitate with a bayoneted though
why is he looking at us like that like wtf 17:08
That's just his resting bitch face
Maybe nobody knows that sunlight was replicated by Nicola tesla's arc lamp in 1891. And came to production after a few years.
