America: The Full English does contain one controversial ingredient, black pudding.
England: Nah mate, there's a controversial ingredient on that plate alright, but it's the hash browns! You don't know what sort of argument you just started.

A gem of a channel - found you while googling "visit London like a local". I want my 3rd trip to London to be more than the usual touristy stuff and taking note of everything. By the way, curious fact: Charles II married Catharine of Braganza who was Portuguese and who enjoyed tea. Catharine had grown up drinking tea in Portugal - the preferred beverage of the time. She single-handedly turned tea drinking fashionable in England.

We were in London a week before Christmas and tried most of the dishes from the guide in the local restaurants shown in the video. With the exception of bangers & mash, which we took to our hotel room and really enjoyed 👌
We also took the sticky toffee pudding, which we also liked very much, from the Mother Mash.
We started the day we arrived with Cornish pasties, which we picked up at Paddington station. They have a great flavour and are very filling.
The following day in Greenwich we tried the Pie
& Mash in Greenwich and also "met" Jeff Goddard, who was very happy when we asked him about your video and told him that we were eating at his restaurant for this reason.
The Poppies Fish & Chips is definitely recommended. The ambience is great and the portions are large and the food is also very good 👌
What we unfortunately didn't try were the scottch eggs and the sunday roast. Otherwise, all the dishes we tried were very, very good. 👌
Thank you for this great food guide ❤️
Of course, we weren't just in London to eat, but also mainly to go sightseeing 😅

Feel the need to correct you Jess, fried potatoes are not part of a full English breakfast, as soon as you add them or chips it becomes lunch. Black pudding is a traditional part of a fry up. Also Dishoom is a chain restaurant, not the real deal. If you want to eat real vegetarian Indian food head to Euston's Drummond street just up the road, or head out into the suburbs of Wembley and Kingsbury/Queensbury.

I'm a big fan of the ploughman's lunch and that is quintessentially English. No arguments on the two deserts but you could do an entire episode on English puddings (and maybe you should) . I'm a fan of the summer pudding. I missed out on the roast when I was there a few weeks ago as a lot of the kitchens didn't open for the evening service

I'd say Pie and Mash with liqour is more of a East London speciality rather than a British dish. Dishoom I feel has become the standard tourist recommendation nowadays. It's half decent, but the discerning Indian places in London are in Tooting or in the suburbs of Wembley or Kingsbury/Queensbury area; Regency, Spice Rack, Everest, Suravana Bhavan.
