About Love and London:
I'm Jess, I've lived in London for many years, and this channel is a London travel guide for anyone visiting the city that wants to experience it like you live here. Beyond talking about the usual London attractions, myself and my team show you some of the cooler things to do in London, that most travel guides don't mention. Watch our videos and you'll feel like you've got a Londoner friend telling you the best kept secrets in the city.
Cornish pasty is a protected term in British law, only pasties made in Cornwall from the traditional ingredients are Cornish pasties. If it’s not made in Cornwall you might see it labelled as a beef, onion and root vegetable pasty and if it’s made from other ingredients such as cheese and onion it’s a pasty but not a Cornish one.
Love that you include the traditional plus veggie options :) I usually don't eat meat but my partner loves meat so these places seem perfect, definitely gonna grab a pasty when we're London :D
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom about London. I didn't notice your various platforms (RUclips and Instagram primarily) until I traveled to London for the first time in my life. I wish I watched your content (especially about the food!). Next time I go I'll be sure to a deep dive into your material. Cheers, Eddie
Sticky toffee pudding is a favorite of my husband and mine. We had it several time while touring Scotland.

I’ve done the Eating Europe East London tour and it was AMAZING! Delicious food, interesting history, friendly sharing vibe, and alternating between walking/standing/sitting. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to London

It has been a while since i watched one of your video's, glad to see you looking so well. Thanks for another informative vid.
We're glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
This is perfect! My family and I are visiting London next Wednesday, and we can't wait to try some of these dishes. It would be so cool if we were able to see you in the wild. I suggest, if you haven't done it before, is to have like a meet and greet photo and publication signing event. I'm sure your fans would love to meet you.
Amazing! Definitely book into one of Eating Europe's tours then, it's much easier than trying to go to bunch of different places on your own, find enough seats, figure out what to order etc. Use "LOVELONDON10" for 10% off your booking! > shrsl.com/45vxi
The hawksmoor sticky toffee pudding is great and can recommend them for great locally sourced steaks and seafood also.
:)
Scotch eggs are the best!!! Thank you Jess for this vlog :)
Thanks so much for watching!
This is a fantastic video, Jess! Great work! Also, I really like the channels new rebrand! :)
Thanks for watching! - Team Love and London
Great video Jess. I just had Dinner. That made me hungry all over again 🤣🤣👍👍
haha well thanks for watching!
These Cornish Pasties remind me of something I had in Malta a couple of years ago. It's called "Pastizzi" and it's usually filled with peas but there are other options like cheese and Nutella as well. Having the relationship between Malta and the UK in mind ... there could be a connection. Gonna have to try Cornish Pasty in London on my next holiday to confirm the theory :D
❤️❤️❤️❤️
cant wait to try all these restraurants
Tomorrow I will go to London for my first time as a solo traveler. I'm very excited! and thank you very much for these video's, which I am binge watching tonight, maybe a bit too late, but it can't hurt exploring a city unprepared XD.
Hope you had a great time!
@@loveandlondon I loved the city and met great many new people!!
I had a Scotch Egg for the first time last year, at a local English style pub in my city. It’s actually pretty good.
Nice! Thanks for watching!
3:18 I've done it myself more than once Jess.
love London
I wanna try the pastys there they look delicious 😋
You can try it on Eating Europe's Borough Market tour! Don't forget about the limited-time 10% off ! shrsl.com/45vxi use code LOVELONDON10
@@loveandlondon ok and another dish I want to try is the banger and mash dish that looks delicious too 😋
I wish this video was posted a few weeks ago as I had a hard time finding traditional British foods in central London.
Ah! The Eating Europe tours would have been perfect for you!
Okay folks, we booked the Soho food tour with Eating Europe and it was the smartest decision we made. Katie our tour guide was amazing, she also gave us as a side bit - rock'n'roll history of Soho. Amazing food, amazing company and Katie was just A+
Cannot thank you enough for recommending them, and if someone is on the fence >> just book with them - worth every penny.
So glad you're as big of a fan as us! Thanks so much for sharing :)
I have been to the US a fair bit, I am yet to see a savory pastry product in a mainstream store. Meat pie, sausage roll etc.
Im going to london in the future i cant wait to try british food
Awesome! Be sure to grab a gift card so you can get 10% off when you finally book your food tour! shrsl.com/45vxi use code LOVELONDON10
Thanks. I'm feeling very hungry now 😋
Thanks for watching :)
@@loveandlondon Love your smile - love your passion - love your London
Can’t say i like Scotch Eggs, however a good Cornish Pastie or Sausage Roll is great, particularly the former. Also a well made and generous meat pie is delicious. Of course the ubiquitous fish and chips, if you find a recommended place you’ll be surprised how wonderful these can be, however the quality varies enormously so try to find a well known highly rated one.
Luckily Eating Europe takes you to really god fish and chips spots on two of their food tours! Don't forget about the limited-time 10% off ! shrsl.com/45vxi use code LOVELONDON10
The pasty looks a lot like empanadas, a well known traditional argentinian dish!!
yes definitely!
Such great recommendations! Love how you include vegetarian/vegan options!
Thanks for watching! :)
3:40 Wait, I'm a Londoner and even I'm shocked by those prices. A Cornish pasty for £18.95?!
noooooo
In Guyanese culture use cassava to make the ball around the egg
Cool!
That pudding is called 'sticky date pudding' here in Australia, and it's pretty popular! Interested how different the British original is! :)
And the Eton dish sounds like a mixed up pavlova! Yumm! :D
Nice!! Thanks for watching!
I basically want everything in this video. 😋
haha well luckily you can try a LOT of it on a food tour! Don't forget about the limited-time 10% off ! shrsl.com/45vxi use code LOVELONDON10
the pasty is called empanada in some countries like ours.
Yes!
August 30th I go to London via little rock.
Nice! Be sure to book a food tour and use the discount! shrsl.com/45vxi use code LOVELONDON10
love you ❤
Great vid as always Jess. I love your outfit. Did you get it in the UK?
She got it in Paris! Thanks for watching!
@@loveandlondonI knew you didn't buy it here :0)
sticky toffee pudding may also have ties to Canada as part of it's origin story
Yes we've heard that too!
Even if you're not in to Scotch Eggs everyone who visits London should go in to Fortnum and Mason. If you're wanting gifts that are quintessentially British and dare I say a little bit boujie then it's perfect. If i'm planning a visit I always have my Mum and Sister on my case to bring a jar of Strawberry and Champagne Jam back for them.
Thanks for watching!
Think I seen you yesterday in the Hawley Arms.
Nope not Jess ;)
I can confirm that sticky toffee pudding was invented by Francis Coulson at the Sharrow Bay Hotel in Cumbria. I was fortunate to meet him a couple of times, and have eaten at the hotel. I knew his nephew who trained as a chef with him as a young man.
....or was it? 😈
@@loveandlondon 😄...
Hiya! Do you think it is easier being vegetarian in London or in the city you come from, New York?? I mean for the choices, people, atmosphere....or anything..
Both cities are GREAT for veggies!
I’ll be back in Londinium in September. September 18 -29th.
There is an Indian street food restaurant near where I’m staying, your husband and you are most welcome to join me!
Jess doesn't have a husband :) But thanks anyways! Be sure to grab one of our London itineraries which will make sure you have a super easy visit that makes the most of your time here! shop.loveandlondon.com
🤣I was (half) joking about dining with you!
And thanks for the itinerary,I am a mudlark,I will be attending the September long totally Thames festival.
The mud calls, and I shall find magnificent things!
A super big smooch to you,dearest Lady❤️
Oh hey, want to hear something cool?
Last night,I sliced up some cucumbers, chorizo and olives, and I used a 2000 year old Roman knife!
One last thing:
Cornish pasties.
I had the best one last year in Greenwich.
Totally traditional,it was a spaghetti and chocolate chip pasty!
Ahh,the tradition,it sings time,eternal!
I am joking of course, just wanted to make you laugh😊
I love your dress!!
❤️❤️thanks for watching!

My friend please make more food videos for next series continue specially for Buffet or Cafes please, and this is my humble request to you only, Jesus God bless you forever bye.
Well, how was the scotch egg?
Cornish pasty looks just like empanadas. If I didn’t watch this video and just visited London I would totally thoughts it’s imported from Latin America lol
Haha true.
I LOVE CORNISH PASTIES!!
Yyummmmm
What is a must eat for vegetarians?
There's SO MUCH to eat in London for vegetarians! The Eating Europe tours cater very well to veggies: shrsl.com/45vxi and use LOVELONDON10 for a discount. Otherwise our guides all have TONS of vegetarian-friendly restaurant recommendations in them that Londoners LOVE: shop.loveandlondon.com
I can’t get over they charge you extra to heat the scotch egg!?!
I'm even hungry now
😎😎😎thanks for watching!
First time we went to London I thought the food was terrible maybe because i watched so many vlogs criticizing the food culture in London, lol. Second time was a lot better.
Huge misconception that the food is bad here. If you do one of the tours we mention they make sure you go to the good spots!
reckon it's clotted cream on your sticky toffee pudding there 8:51
She said it was custard!
"Thanks so much Jessica" Please say something, that you are making next video my choice one, still you are my most favourite RUclipsr girl👸👑😊💗, Jesus bless you adios.
What a stylish and classy lady you are!!!
Hahahaha a doggy bag is a British thing.
It's American too!
👍👍🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼👍👍
You eat cheese but not eggs. You eat cream.
Jess eats eggs. She doesn't eat pork which the scotch egg was wrapped in.
🇬🇧🧜♂️
so much pork in English food...
In some traditional dishes yeah, but honestly it's really not that hard to avoid, whether it's a matter of personal preference or a cultural/religious need to steer clear of it. :)
Can be avoided though :)
Please tell me you didn't try all of these dishes in one day....full respect, if you did! 🥞🫘🥖
Did you see jess's takeaway boxes at the end 😎
