hey guys, go out and check Mattia´s "on" and "off" those songs are master pieces...also a "song" called "blues for FK" (i wrote "song" because it´s a bunch of freak kitchen riffs)...and my favorites as solo artist "insert coin","there´s no money in jazz" and "print this" hahaha aamaaaziing guitar player, and he sings so badass too!, thanks Ola for doing this! un abrazo desde México.
Hey Ola, I love that format! What do you think of putting coffe with Ola on podcast platforms? It would be ideal! Podcast have a huge growth over the last years and you could expand your brand even further.
Hej Ola! This video really made my day in such a wonderful manner! I was really waiting to see this on your channel and it's even cooler than I imagined it could be! You both are super inspiring guys and I hope one day I could meet you in person!!! Keep the great stuff up! Tack så mycket! :)
"Not only play 0-0 0-0 on the one string and imitate Meshuggah cause they are much better than you are anyway" - never a truer word spoken. Great interview, my favourite one yet. A genuinely nice human being with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Incredible player.
It hurts me how less popularity Mattias has amongst guitar players. It's mostly only highly appreciative and musically knowledgeable guys that know of him but I don't think people realise how fun and enjoyable his playing is along with being technical when it needs to be. Forever going to remain one of my favourites. Much respect to Ola for introducing him to the mainstream metal crowd through his channel. Ola knows it himself what this guy is worth!
Never heard of this guy or his band. After watching this I'm in love with his attitude and his band. Amazing stuff, he seems more like the person I want to be than I even imagined.
I met Mattias in 2005 at a summer guitar camp, he is quite possibly one of the most genuine and nice people I have ever met. He actually took time and listened to one of my tunes and said he heard my mustache.. he didn’t have to, and it really meant a lot.
@@miguelinsogna1530 Not many people talk about him, online people talk about guitarists who are basically RUclipsrs way more (this actually includes Ola, TBH).
I was there for freak guitar camp 2018. He's such a lovely guy and very inclusive....he would sit down with everyone for lunch and ask about how they were finding the learning material etc. I cannot wait to go back, I highly recommend everyone tries to get to a freak guitar camp, it will melt your brain :P \m/
I never knew of Mattias until today. Thank you for bringing him to my life, what a cool guy, he has such a different take on life and music that both feels refreshing and eye opening!
Matthias seems to be one of the greatest peoples on music industry. Such a good spirit! I never thought I could watch two folks basically just talking on RUclips. You both are great!
Man I was so excited for this. Can't wait to fully watch. And for a "sh*t interviewer", your ratio of 1.4k likes to 2 dislikes is pretty impressive (for the record, the fact that you're "in the know" and ask actually relevant, insightful questions easily makes you the most interesting interviewer for people like Mattias, considering the drivel a lot of them get asked by regular interviewers). Fantastic insight into creativity and regulating tech too. I'm probably not alone in how often I sit down and try to write something and it's crap, and how quickly that makes me feel like giving up. It's really trying to let go of that need to make something amazing right away that one gets creatively free and willing to slog through bad ideas to find gems. I need to watch this a few more times! PS: I was like "what's with Ola's colour grading, it's all over the place", and then I realized his lights are changing colour behind the camera.
Thanks a lot Ola for inviting Mattias to your video! It was such an interesting and inspiring talk. I think you guys have the same sense of humor.😀 I‘m a huge Freak Kitchen fan since 1993.
Mattias is my favorite guitar player, i knew him with a song called "the healty man"...and it was love at first hearing 15 years ago, amazing guitar player!
So Humbling, very down to earth. I wish there was more of you two out there. I could listen to you guys talk for days. Thanks for the video and your time Mattias and Ola!
Mattias is one of my favorite guitarists out there, thanks for having him on! If you do requests then guys like Ron Jarzombek, Bumblefoot, and Guthrie Govan would all be a dream for me.
That was the most inspiring video I’ve seen for anything, not just guitar playing. So honest, modest and genuine. I’m ashamed to say I wasn’t familiar with Mattias before now but I’m better for it now. Also, his voice is so relaxing! He would be a great narrator!
Did not know much about Mattias before, what a fascinating and entertaining man! And mind-blowing guitar player! Thanks for this Coffee With Ola... best one so far!
This is the best Coffee with you Ola... Mattias is wisdom personified. Please get him on again and maybe even consider the guitarists from DARKANE, they deserve the recognition.

This is possibly the best video you've done. Both so influential but interestingly so humble and just happy to be happy. Made me happy watching this. :)
So good. He is like santa claus, bringing pure joy everywhere around him. But he has so much thought behind his playing/music. So much heavy stuff to say. One in a million kind of person.
Just catching up on this interview and I wasn’t disappointed. What a insightful man/musician Mr Eklundh is. And a wicked sense of humour as well. Great interview Ola 👍
Thank you very much for introducing me to this man. I drunk-purchased tickets to watch his band play with Dream Theater and Animals as Leaders in Austin TX, and I don't regret it at all. His music is great! Mattias is a special type of intelligent that I'm glad exists. I've always had a soft spot for this progressive-technical stuff, even though I'm a Death-Thrash Metal fan til I die.
Hi Ola. Just wanted to thank you & Mattias for the video. Both such great guys with an awesome philosophy towards life & guitar playing. I found this so interesting & entertaining. This was beautiful to watch & listen to.
