It’s always cool hearing from humbled rockstars, and the sincerity and appreciation goes both ways, and both of y’all deserve the utmost love and respect
You are also an amazing player! I have been following your carreer, and the stuff you come up with is not only new but also very challenging. Long live Gus and Jeff!! Pat
TightyWhities94 yeah. I kinda think of it as a bunch of people being at the top of their game, with different styles. Richardson, browne, merrow, a bunch of youtubers, bowen, nilsson, hetfield and gibbons
Take conquering dystopia and alluvial, kick out merrow ( have him produce) and then you have the two best modern metal guitars alive. If wes and him got together it might simply be too much
I second this. You have to get Mikael and you have to talk their best album.... Blackwater Park. I don't care what the rest of you say, its the best. Fight me.
I met Jeff on a solo tour in Reading, UK. I awkwardly told him, as a grown 30 year old man, that he was my favorite guitar player of all time. The guy was so polite and thankful to me, a random dude he didn't know and would never see again. Jeff man, keep being you.
Ran into Jeff Loomis randomly at the DC airport. He was buying a pretzel. I fan boy'ed on the guy and he was as gracious and accommodating as could be and let me get a pic with him and shook my hand. He's one of those guys that's soooooooo good he just makes you want to quit. Absurd ability combined with a keen songwriting ear. Just such an incredible talent.
Yeeesssssss that heavy rhythmic guitar riff too once the drop hits at the beginning. That is one of my all time favorite Nevermore tracks. So refreshing to see someone who appreciates that song!
Many top metalheads are over 50 today. Just like Jeff Loomis, who is now 51 years old. All these top metalheads still have a lot of energy and pick their instrument as if it were 20 years old. This is a big inspiration for me. Stay in shape, take jealous care of your body and you will continue to create and produce after 50 years.
Jeff is sooo nice and soft spoken.... but a real MONSTER on guitar! His face changes into an evil snarl when he plays and then he’s like “Oopsie Daisy, I dropped my plectrum...” such a cool guy!
I cry when I watch and listen to Jeff play. He’s only two years older than me, we’ve been roughly playing for the same amount of time, 30+ years and sooooooooooooooooo much better than me😝😂😂😂. Fantastic musician. Thanks for the interview Ola.
First time I ever saw a Jeff Loomis interview of any kind. He's been my favorite metal guitarist for years and although I feel he's being a bit wasted in Arch Enemy its cool to see he's happy in the band and its even better to see what a chill, humble, easy going and shy dude he is. Props to you, Jeff!
This is literally my dream. Jeff has always been a hero of mine. He's the reason i picked up 7 string. And he was the one who turned me onto Ola with the Jam Up Bro video. Dreams do come true!!
YESSSSS Jeff has been my modern metal guitar hero since 2004. Nevermore was the shit. Also, dude is looking really good for his age. He looks exactly like he did in those Nevermore videos years ago!
Big thx, Ola, for making it happen and Jeff for participating! It's one of the great things with metal, that kinda everybody in that business can be just a great and humble personality cause the music takes already care of aggression, show off and anger.
Awesome interview with one of the greats. Well done, Ola! Please consider these three for guests on upcoming "Coffee with Ola": Vegard T. (Ihsahn), C. H. Jesper Strömblad, and Chris and/or Michael Amott. Thanks for keeping this series going, cheers, and all the best to you and yours!
Been seeing Ola show up on a lot of my fave music learning channels, and as well been seeing lot's of love for Ola from other players and fans. So I finally clicked on his channel to find this interview with Jeff, my personal fave metal guitarist for more than a decade now. This earned Ola an insta-subscribe. I love you guys too btw. ^-^
I've never seen you so nervous in any of your videos, no wonder... you're were lucky to talk to one of greatest guitarists of all time. Thanks for doing this Ola, take care and keep up the good work!! CHEERZ!!!!
What a great personality, just positive and thankful plus praising every person on his way, while being a badass shred king through and through! Jeff the Loomis, you are an inspiration!
21:29 While Jeff played the sweep picking section from "River Dragon has come", I only watched Ola's face because I knew he would be so happy! Loved seeing that little smile creep in haha! Stoked for you to be sitting down with your heroes, Ola!
@Malcolm Reynolds I love both, man. i've seen Symphony X live twice!, never had the opportunity to see Jeff live( also I'm not interested at all in the current Arch Enemy)
jeff loomis is one of THE best metal guitarists in the world, first with nevermore which were HUGE and then NOW with arch enemy which they are sooooo lucky to have!!!!
Jeff is such a humble dude and so well spoken, it's always a pleasure to see him talk. But it's so rare. I had the opportunity to meet him in one of his concerts during his solo tour a few years ago and again, most down to earth artist I've met. This was also a good interview, just too short unfortunately. I have also, in one day, now watched this interview 3 times! So thanks to everyone involved (Ola and Jeff I guess). I'd love to see the collaboration between Jeff and the Eloy (the drummer). And I really really wish that he forms his own band again, because we are missing a genius song writer!
This is so wholesome. It's so nice the respect you show each other. I saw Nevermore tour Enemies and Godless Endeavour. I truly think This Godless Endeavour as an album is the 'Self Actualisation' in the peak of extreme music.
Wow I'm so late to the party! But what a guy that Loomis! So brutally himself, down to earth giving actually interesting tidbits of his life and the most honest way without any kind of attitude or acting. I always liked his music and now I like the man too ;-)
Jeff really has his head on straight when it comes to guitar stuff. This new signature model ticks all the correct boxes from Jackson's stock at a really good price and looks elegantly evil! When is the Jeff Loomis/Ola Englund/Eloy Casagrande album coming out?
I love the way Ola handles his interviews. He let a lot of room for the artist to talk and that leads to some very interesting stories and chats. And he digs his subject as well. Well done Ola, keep doing great interviews!
What's this? Oh only Coffee with Jeff Loomis, one of the biggest inspirations ever...
That's awesome🤘
...I love you...
Jeff, the greatest Guitar Player ever!!!!!!!!
It’s always cool hearing from humbled rockstars, and the sincerity and appreciation goes both ways, and both of y’all deserve the utmost love and respect
Ola Englund two of my biggest influences to be better on guitar thank you ola for making this coffee time happen
"Two bros, chilling in the couch, five feet apart 'cause they're not gay"
no sexy time or bromance here...? : D
Haha
lmao
2 ft apart..still not gay
Reading this in May 2020 makes more sense.
I really miss Nevermore, and Warrel. Long live Loomis
Yoalli Ehecatl hell yeah bro I miss Nevermore too. Best metal band
Same I wish I could have seen them live
I feel fortunate that i saw them live in 2003
Tim Calvert too :( Great work on "Neon Black" and with Forbidden. Miss your voice Warrel.
I still believe in nothing!
Apart from being one of the best Guitarists out there,Jeff is also one of the coolest and best guys around.
You are also an amazing player! I have been following your carreer, and the stuff you come up with is not only new but also very challenging. Long live Gus and Jeff!! Pat
You’re amazing!!!!
Coffee with Ola and Gus Drax coming soon??
@@DominicAirola I would love that. :)
@@patdufresne6209 Thanks Pat. Much appreciated man.
He's easily the BEST metal guitarist today and also a very down to earth person. Dude is such a legend and he's not being appreciated enough.
I don't know. All my metal friend hold him in high regard. He deserves it.
Such a cool and humble looking guy while he is a frigging guitar deity!
best live guitarist i’ve seen
TightyWhities94 yeah. I kinda think of it as a bunch of people being at the top of their game, with different styles. Richardson, browne, merrow, a bunch of youtubers, bowen, nilsson, hetfield and gibbons
Take conquering dystopia and alluvial, kick out merrow ( have him produce) and then you have the two best modern metal guitars alive. If wes and him got together it might simply be too much
i swear to god, metal musicians has the gentlest attitude ever when off stage
We are just people man
The "I love you" from 29:42 was so cute
Jeff Loomis dry ripping the River Dragon solo unexpectedly in the middle of an interview is so rad.
Bring Mikael Akerfeldt please!!!
I second this. You have to get Mikael and you have to talk their best album.... Blackwater Park. I don't care what the rest of you say, its the best. Fight me.
Yes!! And Fredrik Åkesson as well
that would be super awesome
agreed!
YEAH MAN!!
I met Jeff on a solo tour in Reading, UK. I awkwardly told him, as a grown 30 year old man, that he was my favorite guitar player of all time. The guy was so polite and thankful to me, a random dude he didn't know and would never see again.
Jeff man, keep being you.
Hahaha, its the first time I see Ola like a total fanboy hahaha
Hahahahaha... I wish I could see him with Dimebag!
29:44 LOL
Aidan Bouw: Yes I have.
Staminist: It was positive until you came in here stinky
Hmm seems you missed all episodes, might want to go back lol
Jeff Loomis is not only an incredible player, he is also such a cool and down to earth guy. Love him.
Yes very down to earth 🌎 kinda reminds me of John petrucci too
Ola being a fan boy is hilarious
Dead Heart in a Dead World is a masterpiece. Pure perfection in every note played, everything comes together soooo nice.
I engineered some of that Conquering Dystopia record and got to record Jeff a few years back. Needless to say I was floored. Great interview Ola, ty.
You recorded a band I played with. Bedlam Massacre, I joined after that album. Hello from a former Oregonian.
You worked at Mark Lewis's studio? That's dope man
@@noir4659 I did the recordings here in Portland Oregon. I've known Keith since we were kids as we both live here.
@@blakecurtis7809 Hello sir!
I LOVE the sound of that album!

29:45 Shy girl Ola :D
Ok now I have to write the real comment
LONG TIME WE WAITED, NOW WE HAPPY AF
Thank you, Ola!
Awesome
Eloy is monster!!!! Hope to see Jeff and Eloy playing together soon
Marty Friedman, Michael Amott, Jeff Loomis and Pat Obrien are my top guitar players
so much talent in their songs and humbleness in their interviews
Michael Amott's brother, Christopher Amott, is way much better than him. I watched archenemy's concert in Japan and Christopher is amazing.
This comment is pretty old already, but I think Brandon Ellis belongs on that list
Ola watching Jeff play The River Dragon solo is definitely one of the most wholesome things on the Internet right now.
Yeeesssssss that heavy rhythmic guitar riff too once the drop hits at the beginning. That is one of my all time favorite Nevermore tracks. So refreshing to see someone who appreciates that song!
It's cool how Jeff Loomis never ages.

Jeff Loomis is one of my guitar heroes, what he did with Nevermore is amazing!
I love to play guitar. It's my therapy. Can play for hours and love guitars. Simple.
Omg Eloy and Jeff will be great!!
Absolutely! Dead heart in a dead world has the ultimate guitar tone!
This was the sweetest metal interview ever
"I love you"
I need to check out Nevermore
22:29 .... you're welcome. Also, freakin' Jeff Loomis!!! Too cool.
#ELOYWITHJEFFLOOMIS!! I am from Brazil, huge fan of Jeff, I would love to hear Eloy playing with him!! #SEPULTURA!!!
Dead Heart in a Dead World....
There is not enough words to describe how great that album is...🤘🤘
Eloy Casagrande and Jeff Loomis has to happen! Eloy is fucking amazing! quem é BR tamo junto
Estou assistindo em 2020. Será que a mensagem chegou até o Eloy?
Hue, Eloy and Jeff 2 fucking monsters!
If a genius like Jeff Loomis can be as humble and sincere as he is in this video, there is still hope for mankind.
First time I ever saw a Jeff Loomis interview of any kind. He's been my favorite metal guitarist for years and although I feel he's being a bit wasted in Arch Enemy its cool to see he's happy in the band and its even better to see what a chill, humble, easy going and shy dude he is. How have I not seen this! I FREAKING LOVE JEFF LOOMIS & NEVERMORE !!!!!!
19:45
Loomis' Wisconsin accent really comes through when he says "I'm really proud of it" lol
He's also a Wisconsinite!!
Jeff deserves every bit of recognition as a good guitarist / musician. He has put his heart and soul into playing guitar, works his ass off.
Eloy Casagrande is a monster drummer!!!!! Can't wait to see him play with Jeff
The common theme with your guests so far is that they are such awesome human beings. Thank you Mr. Ola.
OMG! Eloy Casagrande + Jeff Loomis?
Can't wait to listen what these two guys will do together.
🤘🏻🎸🔥
Such a sweet guy. No wonder he inspires so many players
I'll never forget the concert of Arch enemy and... Nevermore as headliner! Good old times miss them.
Keith Ola and Jeff together would be the best thing ever ❤️
I’d like to see another Conquering Dystopia album. Great interview Ola.
This is literally my dream. Jeff has always been a hero of mine. He's the reason i picked up 7 string. And he was the one who turned me onto Ola with the Jam Up Bro video. Dreams do come true!!
damn he's so down to earth!! very inspirational
21:48 i cant believe i can still play it!! PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU ARE A LIVING GOD JEFF!!
YESSSSS
Jeff has been my modern metal guitar hero since 2004. Nevermore was the shit. Also, dude is looking really good for his age. He looks exactly like he did in those Nevermore videos years ago!

Jeff "Awesome" Loomis🤘🤘🤘Finally!!! So happy, thx Ola for making this happen! You made my day💪
Jeff is just the best kind of humble, chill, cool and knowledgeable musician you wanna sit down with.

Jeff is such a legend, been cranking heaps of Nevermore and reminicing on my youth the last month or so.
Such a great interview. Good job Ola. It was so awesome to hear Jeff tell stories of his Nevermore days. Thanks this made my day.
I've never seen you so nervous in any of your videos, no wonder... you're were lucky to talk to one of greatest guitarists of all time. Thanks for doing this Ola, take care and keep up the good work!!

Jeff Loomis interviewed by Ola who is wearing a half life t-shirt, life can't be any better
What a great personality, just positive and thankful plus praising every person on his way, while being a badass shred king through and through! Jeff the Loomis, you are an inspiration!
Uff the Ola’s t-shirt 🤟
21:29 While Jeff played the sweep picking section from "River Dragon has come", I only watched Ola's face because I knew he would be so happy! Loved seeing that little smile creep in haha! Stoked for you to be sitting down with your heroes, Ola!
17:16 "Arch Enemy will have 7 string stuff in the future." This would be really cool to hear. Hope it's true.
Jeff is a great storyteller!
Holy shit dude, now I have to stop everything I was doing and watch this
Had the same reaction but had to postpone until I arrived to work, damn it.
Loomis is such a douche, I'd say hello by kicking him in the scrotum, he'll walk out with two black eyes and a broken leg
@Malcolm Reynolds I love both, man. i've seen Symphony X live twice!, never had the opportunity to see Jeff live( also I'm not interested at all in the current Arch Enemy)
Wow Jeff loomis is a real ASSHAT
I agree jeff is awesome guitarists. Also very humble 👍👍
jeff loomis is one of THE best metal guitarists in the world, first with nevermore which were HUGE and then NOW with arch enemy which they are sooooo lucky to have!!!!
Ma favorite guitarist ❤️❤️
Nevermore was a class act. And Jeff Loomis is such a cool guy.
I think any explorer, Kelly shaped guitar looks amazing. Something about the flow of the lines.
Just blew my mind playing those leads unplugged
I started playing 7 string because of Jeff Loomis as well
Had the fortune to finally meet Jeff in person a few months ago. Super nice and down to earth fellow with incredible guitar chops.
Given the couch, I was a bit afraid of how this could have ended up.
Words of a man who have seen enough.
At least it’s not black
You should, they're talking something 'dirty', 'brute force', and 'gauge'. Nasty talks with given couch. I too get the sense of that FAKE-ness. LOL
Arsch Enemy!
Dw its not a black couch
Jeff is such a humble dude and so well spoken, it's always a pleasure to see him talk. But it's so rare. I had the opportunity to meet him in one of his concerts during his solo tour a few years ago and again, most down to earth artist I've met.

There still isn’t much going on in WI
No words to describe how I love you both.
Coffee with Ola, but there is no coffee
Metal Madness true :)
we have to drink it our self :)
Next time☕🤘🏼
You simply can't drink coffee when you're talking with Loomis.
No worries..I'm on the next flight from ny with Tim Hortons coffee
This is so wholesome. It's so nice the respect you show each other.
I saw Nevermore tour Enemies and Godless Endeavour. I truly think This Godless Endeavour as an album is the 'Self Actualisation' in the peak of extreme music.
Good news!! He just announced Arch Enemy will work on 7-string??? That's Jeff Loomis effect!
How is Jeff so freaking cool!? So bloody talented yet remains incredibly humble and down to earth.
Loomis seems like one of the most chill dudes...
Wow I'm so late to the party! But what a guy that Loomis! So brutally himself, down to earth giving actually interesting tidbits of his life and the most honest way without any kind of attitude or acting. I always liked his music and now I like the man too ;-)
Arch Enemy, Nevermore AND Conquering Dystopia HIS BEST PROJECT
Ola sitting as my current favorite you tuber wearing a T shirt for my favorite video game franchise while interviewing my childhood hero
So much better than french TV!!!!
Nevermore is Heavy Metal at it's best and Loomis is such a powerful writer and player
Jeff really has his head on straight when it comes to guitar stuff. This new signature model ticks all the correct boxes from Jackson's stock at a really good price and looks elegantly evil!
When is the Jeff Loomis/Ola Englund/Eloy Casagrande album coming out?
Loomy is a total legend unbelievably talented crushing heavy player!!!!!! Ola your a hero in your own right
Jeff Loomis IS the best guitarist of all time.
I've seen this guy live a few weeks ago, he is a very nice person and a kickass guitarist. Very underrated.
Coffee with Joe Duplantier please...
YES PLEASE
Watching things like this makes me happy. It makes me happy to be alive and living in the world today.
Offy with Cola
Always awesome to see Ola with someone he genuinely admires a great deal
First tour in EU Blind Guardian
First tour in US Death
Yeah, Nevermore good start
I love Jeff more now... Genuinely a really nice guy... You can tell with his body's language and all.... One of the best out there....
"When i knew i was going to NAMM i could finally catch up with some real artists. Not the shitty, Swedish ones" - Ola Englund, former UTUBE star
So much for getting anyone local on the show
Yep, that was not good, man
Chill out, it's clearly a joke.
It's a joke my guy. He was making a stab at himself 😂
@craig4fsu Yngwie hasn't yet had a coffee with Ola, so I kind of was bafled by his remark there. :D
Jeff Loomis is talented AF, love this thanks Ola. What a tour! Jeff Loomis and Death RIP Chuck
Holy cow! Is that this famous and handsome guitarist next to Jeff Loomis? 😳
I see Ola, but who's the other guy lol 😁
I love the way Ola handles his interviews. He let a lot of room for the artist to talk and that leads to some very interesting stories and chats. And he digs his subject as well. Well done Ola, keep doing great interviews!
