Love the 'cheez cutters'.Had them since the 1990's when they were split rims plus on my 2021 model which are just steelies. They just look honest and are engineered for the truck.😃
Have a look at the J Trax for bob jane. I have them on my prado and 4runner and they grip really well in the wet and preform very good in the mud. I was really surprised especially wheeling with other cars that where struggling with mud tyres. They are also getting great mileage. Will be using the same tyre again. Love the FJ. I'm thinking about replacing the 4runner with the FJ.
Awesome! Thanks for the info. I looked into them but couldn’t find much info about them. Are you looking at the new 4Runner? Let me know your thoughts on why you are keen on the 4Runner
Must be a common occurrence?! Strange. I’m thinking of just keeping the stock size. Saves money on the tyres and at the pump. Thank you for your thoughts
On my FJ l have Yokohama G016 friend of mine who uses his FJ as a daily drive and comes 4wheeling has G015(on his second set). Either tyres are on the softer side, benefits are quite ride at a cost of longevity. The tyres have never let us down.
I was gonna pull the trigger on some Kumho MT51s for my Prado (good value, reputable brand, AT/MT hybrid) but came across some brand new Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs that a guy was selling cheap after having in his shed for a couple of years so went with those instead. Awesome tyre, used the 4 digit code to confirm how old they were. I reckon I'll come back to the Kumhos for my next set, hard to justify full price Goodyear's. Also had Bridgestone Dueler AT 697s previously, good for daily with occasional offroad... 👍🏽
Thanks for the advice. A lot people talk about the Goodyears so I’ll look into them for sure. The kumhos look like good value and seem to always be the cheaper option which I’m not complaining about haha
Should be cheap too. Wouldn’t mind something a bit more aggressive but the HT go pretty hard off road as I’ve shown on my prado and hilux. Good suggestion 👍
I originally had BFG KM2's on my FJ got easy 120000kms out of them then i switched to K02's which are now done 90000kms but they too are on borrowed time. I'm not sure what to get next maybe go back to Mud Terrain KM3 BFG. Looking forward to seeing what you pick.
Probably a Toyota R/T or Goodyear Duratrac. I think the hybrids are the best option with 3 ply sidewall. Mickelson T Baja Boss A/T would be first choice but big $$
Thanks Richard. I haven’t looked at the prices of the Mickey’s but I had a set that was VERY old on my patrol and they still held up. I hear good things about the new Goodyears too

Tne old Allen key, I have one through a MTZ years ago when I had a GU Patrol.
On my FJ I run a 265 Falken MT

Good to know. Quieter would be good for me as it is a daily. I’ll look into it for sure!
Yokohama Geolandar ATs are very good for everyday use. Nice and quiet, too.
falken wildpeak at3, best value for money /performance in the wet and wear you'll find
Falken pops up a lot in recommendations. Wet performance is something I’m interested in as it hasn’t stopped raining in cairns this year
I've had a pretty good run out of my HankookDynapros M/T2 RT05s so far after 36000 ks. Fitted to a 2019 Hilux. Size is 265/70r17s.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you

OMG. I have a 79 and an FJ. Similar mindset.
Awesome! What colour?
@@NorthOz FJs White 2015 and 79 Beige 2017. Both V6 4.0s
@NorthOz I've used Cooper STT Max. Look into these. Overland, Daily and hard offloading. They need rotation at least once a year.
If its for daily, oem size highway terrain will suffice. Good for fuel economy and good enough grip.

What's happening with the budget patrol ?

Nice Ben! Thanks for the comment. I’ll keep you guys updated for sure 👍
Just wondering if you sold your Rogue???
Indeed I did. I now have a 79 series dual cab and a FJ cruiser
Hello, I heard from one of my friends your one of the high school sport teachers at peace Lutheran college? Just asking if that’s true 😁

Interesting, thanks.
🙏
Date of manufacture not date of expiry.
Correct. I did say expiry in there somewhere and that is not correct. Thank you
Toyo Ats.......
👍 Had these before and they worked well. Weren’t great in the wet but it could’ve been my car at the time
