Fun Video! Having owned a 23 off road with a Overland torque tune on mild and spicy for the ECT button and currently having a 24 off road, I could have told you this result! No contest all day long! 317 lb-ft of torque at 1700 RPM is too much for the 3rd gen!

The back seat room and seating position is just so so awful in the new Tacoma. Even looking at the drag racing video look past the guys and focus on the rear seating position….the new gen seating looks nearly 90 degrees. A disaster

Man I’m loving your videos and must tell you my story. I bought a 2023 Sport 4x4. Had it for 2 days and did a crazy thing. I didn’t like the driving experience, it had maybe a problem with jerking on low accelerations and decided to test drive the new 2024. After that test I decided to trade in the 2 days purchase Tacoma 2023 and got the new 2024. The driving has no hesitation, no stiffness bumping and it’s so smooth. I mean I don’t know If I got a bad lemon with that 2023 but it is incomparable how better driving is the 2024. Some inputs will help me understand what happened but I did that and felt a relief afterwards.

@@MuscleAmerican I’m glad you are saying this because I thought I was crazy, feeling these issues while driving a car with so much reliable reputation. For example if had to cross a bridge just a little steeper I had to accelerate in order to keep the same speed. That’s so weird. I’m still in disbelief. Meanwhile the 2024 drives perfectly!!

Yeah right. The 4 cylinder turbo will never need to rev over 4000 rpms. The V6 needs to scream at 6000 rpms just to make any sort of power. Who is screaming? And who is humming. More revs means more work needed to make power.

    • @MuscleAmerican

@@MuscleAmerican Those K02's are a 53 lb tire the one's on the 4th gen appear to be either a 36 (115S) or 41.8 (115T). Either way those are significant differences. When I went from stock tire and wheel to a 285/70/17 tire that weighs 50 lbs (with a 25lb/17" wheel) the loss of acceleration was very noticeable. Obviously I don't drag race it, but wouldn't be surprised if it was 8-10 car lengths slower. Just food for thought, especially when you upgrade your tires and wheels on the 4th gen.

Don't mind but I'm going to give you a little tip if you want people to watch your videos please don't lie to them, the new one is garbage they cut so many corners on it but if you just look at the looks of it you won't figure that out the new one will never be as reliable as the third generation you will eventually find out the hard way. I'm even surprised you bought the new one I was considering that I took one out for a test ride you can tell inside all the plastic everything is hard plastic very very cheap just a quality and fit and finish of the plastic is garbage the metal is very tiny very weak the hood is so light when you hit a bump the hood moves I always do my research I always check out a new vehicle top to bottom to see if there's any quality before spending big bucks. But there's some people out there that don't do that they just buy it because they think wow it's a Toyota it's good couldn't be more wrong, the back of it they took the leaf springs away which we know the leaf springs are the best they could handle the weight inside the truck a lot better they are way more durable. The new one they put the Springs with the sharks dates for a car garbage for a truck even when you take the truck for a ride it doesn't even feel solid it just feels cheap that's 4 cylinder turbo motor is not going to last. That turbo is pulling out way too much power out of that little force on the motor about motor is going to be working hard all the time and when you have to put something heavy in the Box or pull some weight with it that Motors always going to be stressed it is just way too small for a truck, but I'm sure you already did your homework before you bought it. And if people keep buying these four cylinder pieces of junk they're going to keep making these four cylinder pieces of junk people stop buying them they're going to have to go back to the V6 it's going to kill their profits, and we know the rich man does not like to lose profits!!!!!!

@@MuscleAmerican it's not better you haven't done your homework I have checked out that truck top to bottom from the Plastics to the metal to underneath to even the quality of the metal they used the body is very very tiny very cheap, but I know what to look for a lot of people don't they just walk around look for the looks there's more plastic on there then my son's little Tonka truck that does not say much, the old four cylinder trucks didn't have Turbo that give them the chance to last a lot longer. But then Toyota grew a brain and went to the V6 because they know the four cylinders was too small for a truck and the motor was working hard all the time this is why they went with the V6 in the first place best decision you've ever made, now they went back to the four banger slap the turbo inside and convince a lot of people that it's quality and people will believe this lie when they don't know what to look for and they don't know anything about vehicles very sad for Toyota deceiving their customers!!!!

New 4cyl turbo motors in the trucks, as well as 6cyl turbo, are junk. Feels like it is in the wrong gear at times. It does feel like it has umph, but, the 4cyl umph. That power is “shallow”. Drive a v8 with the same power and a 4cyl, and you’ll know the difference. Overall Feel is cheap. Do not like how it drives, accelerates, cheap plasticky interior and exterior, gigantic and useless screen, lacking weatherstripping between the doors and frames/fenders as well as front and back doors. Overall it is 🤢 🤮… Not worth the money. Go buy the latest 4L and ignore the latest turbo junk… my opinion, these latest turbo motors are made for the latest ignorant generation that does not know cars and are more concerned about tech vs practicality and drivability. Mark my words, anyone with a 4L motor, or even a v6 frontier and ridgeline, will have less issues and will save more money than the latest gasoline turbo “junk”.

The ford 2.7 v6 has thus far proven to be a really reliable platform, even in a F-150. On the new ranger it’s going to be a beast of a power train. Yes turbos induce more malfunctions, yes I’d prefer to have a v8, yes I’d prefer less electronics and more mechanical linkages. But with what you’re saying, every vehicle that’s newer than a 2004 full size pickup is just outright a POS, and that’s just ignorance. With regular maintenance a lot of newer vehicles can easily make the 150,000-200,000 mark. Especially from the more reliable brands
