saying this with so much love: I'm cracking up at the title, bc it should be "I let an algorithm pick my outfit and then I put on whatever I wanted". But I think you still learned something about your wardrobe AND it's an informative and fun video.

I totally get when it's 30 degrees you can't be going out wearing trousers but honestly I think part of the point of these videos is to actually wear the outfit suggested for the day and see if you like it at the end/other people's reactions when you're out and about. Here you just straight up wore whatever you wanted for the whole week 😅

Just want to highlight that this app DOESN'T use artificial intelligence. AI is when computers think for themselves, this isn't thinking for itself it's just taking a bunch of inputs and using an algorithm to spit something out, it isn't doing any thinking... Which is probably why it isn't very good!!

whenever i feel stuck i really really force myself to try and play with silhouettes. i tuck in, let out, i only button up one or two buttons or go completely asymmetrical. it doesn’t cure the wardrobe fatigue but sometimes i do find a cool new combo or a new way to wear an old piece. also i actually did like the crochet cardigan over the bike suit! it’s not revolutionary but it’s a cute summer alternative to throwing on oversized longsleeve or jacket

I wonder if part of your hesitations to the outfits comes from that drive to shop. If your clothes don’t “work” and it’s too hard and you need more basics and pizazz etc then your really start feeding that need. I loved the idea of this, would of loved to see you try to tuck things in or tie them etc. would genuinely love to see this as a series!

I really like the Whering App, but then I don't try to get it to 'pick' my outfits. I have a small house and clothes are kept in multiple places and I online shop way too much - often buying things that are similar because I forgot I had something. I put together hundreds of outfits myself on the app and just scroll through them to pick something. Also, when I'm going to buy something I have a quick scroll to see if I really need that or if I have something similar that'll do the trick and you almost always do. Of course an algorithm can't decide based on the weather/your mood/the fact that that shirt is actually a dress in your wardrobe/ etc. what you should wear. But I think its a really great tool if you are trying to have a more honest relationship with your closet and if you are trying to curb unhealthy buying habits. Sorry for the long comment I just really don't want people to get turned off the app if they want to use it for different reasons than picking outfits for them - I'd say its more of a digital closet than a personal shopper. Xx

I really enjoyed this, because this is an app I would fully be down for if it had the functionality you discussed at the end; outerwear, seasonal indicators, even a weather report so that it knew the climate of your location each day. As it is, I just feel like it’s more hassle. I’d love to see you try more wardrobe or fashion apps!

Just had a scroll through the app and immediately realised it was going to be an absolute nightmare to set up for me. Most of my clothes are second hand, often without any tags or labels, and even the pieces that do have tags weren’t showing up in the database. Lots of my clothes also have bold patterns and prints, so finding an option that just looks sort of similar isn’t really an option. Scrolling through the set up page where it asks which of these basics you own was horrendous for me🤣 I think I maybe clicked on 3 items ? It’s a wonderful idea but definitely not for everyone. I wouldn’t be able to get it set up without devoting a whole day to photographing and adding my items one by one.

Really interesting video! I think the app Owni would also be an interesting one to try - not for algorithm but to see how it helps to rewear items. In general I'd be interested to see a comparison and which app would be worth the time and investment of uploading the whole wardrobe! Owni also has the feature of selling and buying.
Generally- reviewing clothing apps video would be GREAT. Could add in things like ByRotation, Hurr etc. But maybe they could be two separate videos with a focus on selling/swapping vs shopping own wardrobe??

was categorizing second-hand items more difficult compared to ones who were on ecom websites? i'd expect the app to pull data from retail websites if an item is from a brand thats on sale compared to a second hand item that maybe doesn't even have a label so i wonder if there was any difference. also this seems very time consuming but could be useful if you don't have much closet space and need to put away a lot of your clothes, we all know that if you don't see it you don't wear it so maybe having all your clothes "out" on an app could give more wear to some pieces!
